Ebony and Sakura(?)'s faces (the two above Lion) didn't turn out the way that I wanted to look, but overall with my record, not bad for something I drew under three hours. lol

#i'm having a moment. the only time i'll ever see these two standing next to each other is in a promotional pic for the sfw game version #FOR SERIOUS i was weirded out by this combination of characters in one pic when i first saw it #i was like oh?? they doing a random assortment now? i mean sure! yeah! i guess! spice it up they look great!!#then someone pointed out that this was Tops Only #then showed me the corresponding picture of Bottoms Only #and i felt my eyebrow raise sharply #OOOH.... i didn't even consider... right.... top bottom segregation #(reality does not occur to me. i see them all through switch-coloured lenses and thus ignore information inconvenient to my preference)#then i started thinking more about the . idea of it. that the tops are in a bar's hidden back room with mafia boss dante #and the bottoms are hanging out in the airy beautiful atrium of pure white snow and lilting piano music #tops are like WELCOME TO THE LIONS DEN and bottoms are like HEY COME INTO THE AVIARY AND SIT WITH US 🥰#i dwelt on the fact that i was weirded out by yakumo in this group #and it made me think about how..... yakumo would be scared of all the other tops #all of them are INTIMIDATION 100 to hiim #so i imagine after you get him to pose for this shot with everyone. and the business is done #yakumo will quickly retreat to the room with the bottoms (where all his friends are)#blade being the adaptable little creature he is will be like OH COOL ARE YOU GOING TO SEE THE OTHERS??#I WANT TO SEE THE OTHERS TOO!! Maybe I should've seen it coming with the weight placed on the concept of "desire" but i really wasn't expecting dungeon meshi to turn into a full on buddhist lecture

I'm into it #but yeah the lion's explanation of how desires only lead to momentary and unsustainable happiness..#marcille being tormented by her desires...#and the way senshi's early 'it's better to do it yourself' attitude is now echoed in how instantaneous fulfilment of marcilles desires #brings her no joy #senshi being the most zen of all the characters #dunmeshi really said 'the well of your desire is literally infinite and by trying to fill it up you condemn yourself to endless torment'#and i clapped #dungeon meshi spoilers #i guess #ah!!! and the lion's eyes are a symbol of infinity.... infinite desire...#i thought it was a keyhole at first haha #hmm now that i think abt it more. part of the fundamental lore of dunmeshi is 'things that are consumed cease to exist'#with eating monsters and with eating desires. so a boundary is being drawn between temporarily fulfilling a desire (the desire comes back #and the cycle continues) and consuming a desire (the desire is gone). the former is more positive #and plays into the circle of life/finding nirvana in repeatedly fulfilling your desires thing that senshi esp has going on #the latter is portrayed negatively as it seeks to 'once and for all' fulfill something that is by its nature infinite #true fulfillment lies in accepting the neverending struggle of temporarily satisfying one's desires... one must imagine sisyphus happy.....#im literally extrapolating multiple philosophy lectures from this manga i love it #in that way you could see the lion's struggle (to satisfy an infinite desire (for others' desires)) as worthwhile!#coming back AGAIN after like ten more pages of the lion's backstory #all the trouble he caused stemmed in some way from his attempts - actually from his ABILITY - to fulfill every desire presented to him #the story seems to imply it would've been better if ppl had been allowed to struggle to fulfil their desires instead of having them granted

I don’t think I can ever forgive David Lowery for the Peter Pan live action remake. BUT he kinda went off when he said “you know what, Dev Patel would look so good as a medieval knight” and then he went and made a whole movie about it. Big W for David Lowery right there.

this man exudes cockiness and confidence.

however, after that first initial peck, yyl turns a tad pink and his eyes widen.

he’ll deny it until the end of time in favor of teasing you.

“what was that?”

he thinks watching you obviously fluster due to it is very funny, so therefore, naturally, he is going to make it a million times worse.

he wouldn’t want us to mention how after that first time, once he’s alone of course, he brushes his fingers across his lips, the memory of your own against them ever fresh in his mind.

once he gets the hang of it, he’ll use them to his upmost advantage.

he likes to corner you when he can (whether figuratively or literally), cooing teases and trailing his hands across you. maybe some lip brushes here and there. he waits until your face flushes to actually kiss you; relishing in your flustered sounds and expression.

it’s not his fault that you react so cutely. well, it technically is, isn’t it? and that’s exactly why he loves it so much.

if you lean in for another kiss after he pulls away, be prepared for that mockingly sympathetic voice of his while he picks at you.

"aww. do you want another one that bad?"

he caves very fast, though, so don't worry about having to endure his teases for too long.

Shawlong Koufang

he will not understand until you explain it to him.

like a few of the others, his first thought is that you want to eat him.

it takes him quite a while to warm up to even the idea of kissing, but you'll break through that shell of his eventually.

he may not be teasing or as blatantly affectionate as some of the others, but he will find it endearing that you're so keen on showing him how you feel in a physical manner.

in the back of his mind he thinks it is quite cute but he won't say that aloud.

he's not quite one to ask for a kiss, but you may catch his eyes straying towards your lips from time to time. or maybe he subtly leans closer to your body when the two of you are alone.

when you actually go in for kisses later on, you swear you can see the corners of his lips almost want to twitch into a tiny smile before they go back to that deadpan expression.

in short, shower this man in kisses. he's not too in touch with his emotions but he will appreciate them immensely. he deserves those smooches.

Edrad Liones

i like to think that edrad can be a bit of a romantic when he wants to be. sure, emotions like this aren't really something that hollows are used to feeling, but i think that is part of why he likes it so much.

he enjoys being physically affectionate with you in any way.

he also likes the size difference that the two of you have. he thinks it is very endearing how small you seem next to him. no matter your size, edrad has a large build.

the kiss itself does fluster him a bit.

it's definitely not what he was expecting when you started to lean in close to him all of the sudden.

he's pretty curious about what that means to you, and when you explain it, he's even more touched by your affections. maybe you see his cheeks turn just a tad pink.

unlike shawlong, he will (very politely, might i add) ask for kisses here and there.

he especially likes when you kiss around his hands; taking time to admire them as you go. sometimes he worries that they're too rough for you, hardened by battle and wielding his zanpakuto, but once you assure him that they're perfect, he's sure to hold you with them much more often.

Nakeem Grindina

nakeem is very, very quiet.

very much a man of few words.

however, that kiss renders him more speechless than he had ever been previously.

he stares at you for a few moments, blinking rapidly while he processes the fact that you had just had your lips on his, his cheeks gradually developing a pink tint.

maybe his silence worries you despite him almost always being that way, so you hurry to explain what it all means.

his hand comes up to brush across his lips. his face flushes a bit darker with every passing second. just when you think that maybe this was too much; way too brash of a decision, he speaks up.

"...that was nice."

he's not a vocal asker, clearly, but the both of you will learn the subtle signs he uses to request kisses here and there.

it takes him a while to fully learn how to kiss you back, but rest assured that he will figure it out! he is a very attentive lover.

he isn't much of a fan of pda.

he will absolutely adore all of that attention once you are away from everyone, though!

Maybe the farmer and Ingo could go foraging on the beach? Go visit the tidepools and show Ingo the spot where they got the mermaid pendant for him and collect shells and such! And the camping date is an adorable idea! Or maybe a date at the museum? Or a date at the Railroad! *Or we take Chandelure with us to go gamble at the Casino* Maybe just a walk through town? Ingo's events occur all over the valley, a nice walk to reminisce how the two got to where they are now.

Ohh that'd be cute!! I love that idea! Especially since Ingo never really had the chance to go find the Mermaid Pendant himself... the only day he has time to visit the beach is when he's with Emmet and Elesa ;;;>.> He wanted to postpone their teasing as much as possible so alas... He never got to formally propose.

But he'd still be interested in learning more on the secrets and customs of the valley! He sends you rocks he likes in his admirer letters, so building a collection of pretty shells makes sense as the next station ahead of his tracks! I imagine that Ingo is more curious about his new destination and excitable when learning more. He can infodump about how the urchins he's more familiar with are Electric instead of Poison-type to you in return.

For Ingo's arc, I imagine him feeling guilty about his helplessness and inaction... A big part of his relationship development is due to the farmer stepping in and helping him. He wants to let them know that he truly does love him and he'd fall for them no matter the situation or destination. I can easilly make that work with the idea of picking out shells together.

A stroll through the valley sounds nice as well! I imagine that happening before the final picnic or maybe between the camping event.

Chandelure at the Casino I imagine being one of Chandelure's own heart events... The farmer just walks in on her hitting it big one day... She gives you funds and tells you to spoil submas in her stead. Submas get more coffee, she doesn't get found out, and you strengthen your bond. Another win-win-win.

Do you ever imagine your characters meeting other characters from your fave books/fanfics?

Hiya!

Not really, actually. I've just realised my imagination doesn't really work this way at all.

Like, I have a lot of shows / anime I really enjoy, but I've never imagined my characters meeting the characters in their worlds, because the worlds feel too contained for them to meet like that?

And even in situations where like, I've wanted to set my characters in another world from a favourite book (like the His Dark Materials series), I kind of have to mentally remove all the characters that already exist there and replace them with my own to make it work, lol.

My brain just doesn't work that way! Even if I could do it, I don't think I'd enjoy it very much, that's not a kind of creativity that comes naturally to me.

A's favorite past time is to get snacks and drinks at a local cafe, go down to the piers at the edge of the bay, and eat while watching the sea lions fight over sunbathing spots and push each other into the water. B doesn't quite understand the appeal, but when A takes them for the first time the two quickly start making up storylines for all of the sea lion drama and laughing so hard their drinks almost go up their noses.

What if they’re how the main cast fix Wukong’s scroll piece?

Like so far I’ve been thinking that they’re the villain behind the scenes, the one pulling the strings to follow through with some master plan, and I still think they’re gonna turn out to be evil and who’s manipulating events.

But they’re also our only possible lead on how the gang are going to fix Wukong’s scroll piece, mainly because they seem to have some sort of knowledge of the scroll, having been able to access it. Thus, they might be someone that the main cast goes to in order to fix Wukong’s scroll piece. That, or they pop up out of the shadows offering their aid.

But yeah it definitely seems like they’re gonna be the way that the gang mend Wukong’s scroll piece so they can free him again.

#That or they’re actually just Wukong when he went to supposedly steal the scroll from the underworld for some good ol’ nostalgia #If they are Wukong I’d imagine that once he’s freed from the scroll piece and the gang ask him for an explanation #His explanation would include a flashback to this scene #But with his face visible from under the shadow of the hood #I actually really like this theory #It makes me feel smart #But yeah #Either this mysterious character is our secret villain and/or how the gang fix Wukong’s scroll piece #Or they’re just Wukong when he went to steal the scroll from the underworld #If they are the villain of the season maybe the reason they released Azure Lion from the scroll (assuming they did)#Was to get the segment of the scroll that Wukong stole back from him (for whatever reason)#And along the way they were just like #“You know what.”#“Screw the Jade Emperor. If he didn’t want to have to deal with a revolution than he shouldn’t have become a government official.”#If they’re just Wukong stealing the scroll though #Then maybe Azure Lion escaping happened as a result of the scroll being opened by MK #Especially considering how he just pops up out of nowhere when the scroll is opened a second time #Like bro #This is a locked cave.
