🏵Maravilla Fun Fact🏵
Catrina always says Ari has Dante's smile (her deceased brother, note according to Trein Catrina has the exact same smile so Ari got it from his mom). However, the smile is actually from Soledad Maravilla aka the mother of Catrina and Dante (and their siblings). Their mom just never smiled by the time Catrina was born (after all Arturo put her through) so Catrina always connected the smile to her brother instead.

Mighty Monsters: Psychopomp, Catrina

“With lengthy curling hair, a dancer’s dress, and a bouquet of flowers, this woman remains beautiful, despite having no flesh.”
Catrinas welcome souls into the afterlife, working to soothe the fear and anger of mortals who haven’t accepted their own death. They eschew the funereal clothing and grave appearances of other Psychopomps, opting instead to decorate themselves in festive shades and bright lights to fight off the gloom of death.
Kind, Not Compassionate. Catrinas, despite all their glamor, will never disguise their skeletal forms. For while they seek to aid the transition of troubled souls, they will never deny the finality of death. Catrinas rarely visit the material plane, usually at the command of a more powerful Psychopomp or deity, to aid the transition of an important soul. While they work to ease the feelings of certain souls, they do not care much for their charges, and only do what they do because howling and wailing disrupts the procession of the dead.
Companions, Ushers, and Executioners. In most cases, Catrinas simply accompany souls into the afterlife, or groups of them host receptions for the newly dead. Their magical auras calm negative emotions, allowing souls some lucidity while they face their own mortality. Once a soul is ready, the Catrina guides them to their proper destination in Purgatory, before leaving them to go aid another. If a soul proves difficult, or a living mortal refuses to die, Catrinas are more than capable of taking them by force with their life-ending kiss.
Kiss of Death. Despite their skeletal forms, Catrinas can be considered rather attractive. They are genderless, but some may choose to be more feminine or masculine depending on the role they’re playing at the time. Using their unearthly charm, Catrinas are capable of compelling the restless dead. Usually, this compulsion is very simple: the Catrina demands the soul to kiss it. The passionate kiss of a Catrina will kill a mortal quickly, making it easier to hasten their journey to the afterlife.
Ideas for using Catrinas in your campaign:
A party member died and was resurrected, yet they have no memory of their time in the afterlife, and all seems to go on as normal. Strangely, a mysterious woman shadows the party wherever they go, focused on the previously-deceased party member. If the party investigates, they discover she is a Catrina that was tasked to the party member, who wasn’t expecting them to come back, and is torn between leaving them be or killing them to bring them back to purgatory.
After a total party kill, the Party awakens in the afterlife, surrounded by a reception of Catrinas, who have organized a large party to celebrate the Party’s adventures in life. The party must navigate their way through the party if they have any hope of escaping back to life under the watchful eyes of the jovial psychopomps.
Catrinas, like all Psychopomps, care for the procession of souls to the afterlife first and foremost.
They can dress in bright colors, decorate their realms with pleasant things and light, but they are, above all, agents of death.
They may act graceful and good, but they are just as dangerous as any outsider, and they value your death far more than your life.

Elizabeth Afton is actually the Youngest Sibling - as @birdsareblooming pointed out, when we see her room in fnaf4, she has a torn-apart mangle toy. mangle was stated to be made to entertain toddlers. would also explain why she's not in the gameplay, she's at daycare/with her mom
The Vengeful Spirit is Michael Afton - another one where cori convinced me and I might have an entire essay that I will publish after I finally sit down and edit through the Security Logbook section but until then here's a bullet point post
Mimic = Burntrap - i dont think i have to explain this we're all talking about it i just know people are gonna be mad at me for it
The Girl in Drowning is representative of Charlie, not Cassidy - She's literally got gray skin, black hair, gray clothes, and neon green lighting, much like a certain gray-skinned black-haired pixel girl with a green bracelet who died in the rain (water motif). Her dragging Kara down because she doesn't want to be alone could be seen as a metaphor for Charlie trying to give life but instead kinda sticking them all in robots
FNAF AR had some BANGIN re-skins - come on. look at them. Clockwork Ballora? Bangin. Broiler Baby? Bangin. Catrina Toy Chica? BANGIN. Springtrap as an actual fucking clown???? BANGIN.
Vanessa is an Afton in the Gameverse, too – Cori's workin on a whole explanation diagram for this but the most BASIC evidence is "her last name starts with 'a' and she's a nepo baby." I dont think she's William's DIRECT daughter cause man died in the 90s and she was 23 in the 2030s so. grandkid or smth
If Edwin/David is a metaphor for anything it's William/CC and not Henry/Charlie – listen i understand the whole "single dad building the robots and then breaking one in a rage" thing from TSE but also the mimic likes to mimic its creator and child before all else and who is it mimicking? afton and the little boy in sb who happens to look a shitton like cc. also game!charlie is never indicated as having a special plushie that followed her everywhere but cc very certainly did and hey if mimic can grow and shrink to fit in anything whos to say it didnt shrink into the fredbear to repeat stock phrases to cc such as "tomorrow is another day." also in the character encyclopedia art of cc he is holding his fredbear plush the same way burntrap positions his arm to imitate holding something. an
They're not gonna pull the Charliebot twist again. Nobody's a secret robot – first off from a writing perspective that's not the kinda twist you do twice. second off with the... less than stellar reception to the twist in the first place i dont think theyre gonna pull it again
"Cassidy" isn't the Golden Freddy Kid's name, it's Crying Child's – the logbook has Crying Child communicate through manipulating the text, while the spirit he's talking to speaks in faint writing; the second spirit never has a confirmed identity, but CC is most definite considering the stuff referenced around him. The "ITS ME CASSIDY" is revealed through.... manipulated text. The clues are in........ manipulated text. "It's Me" is CC calling out to Michael. The other spirit says "My name is..." a couple times BUT they also ask CC if he remembers his name just a few pages before. Granted this might just be us not understanding something but also if Cassidy is CC's name then who the fuck is Golden Freddy Kid. is Michael Brooks still canon
The nightmare gas didn't "ruin the lore" it's just kinda funny – look guys literally all of this lore is fucked, the fact they just threw in "also William Afton was doing nightmare gas experiments on kidnapped kids and then abandoned it for shits and giggles" in the eighth book of their second anthology series and then moving on like nothing happened while the fanbase collapses in on itself is like THE funniest thing they could've done

Desperado Fanart inspired by Mexican Retablos

En ese entonces no conocía que había seres por encima de los arcángeles que conocemos, tampoco sabia sobre esas formas de seres celestiales con muchos ojos y muchas alas, por lo que recuerdo, sus diseños eran humanoides con alas y coronas de luz. Recuerdo que si diseñe a cada uno de los que participarían, pero todos esos diseños los perdí. Incluso tenia un diseño de Lucifer, porque este iba a tener unas cuantas menciones en la historia como el rey de los monstruos, pero de nuevo, perdí todos esos dibujos.
Las catrinas, a pesar de llamarse así, sus diseños era la clásica forma de la muerte, figura esquelética con túnica negra. Incluso, la catrina que se ve en la primera temporada, así recuerdo que se veían todas, con la diferencia de que el color de sus ojos era distinto a cada una.

After days without internet, abundant thoughts of ideas and more ideas, I finally have a concrete basis of what my head was planning.They are not final designs! But for now I like the idea of where I am currently going, it is time for them to receive a worthy presentation.This is Vega! In my way of seeing things, I see Survivor and Enot as the same slugcat, and in my AU I call them Vega, they are neither one nor the other, they are the same slugcat but I would have to explain the lore of my AU, everything in due time But Vega is finally here!
To give a little context before we finish, she represents life and death (Not to be confused, Survivor represents life, and not death), but I like to see them as Mexico's Catrina, and they are both still energetic and very curious, and they are loved just as they are!

The Flarelyn family (family tree and lore)
inspired by darkland-blood post.
here's a close ups if the picture is still quite blurry:
not sure how to start this but I'll start with Watts' and Crusher's life then the others next. (Well not everyone actually)
Crusher:
In a nutshell: basically Crusher having a really bad life then mets Blaze, beefs with him for a while before Pickle decided to hosted a second team truck challenge to excuse himself to ship Crusher and Blaze together which both ended having some feelings for each other and then marriage and baby stuff.
The whole story: Crusher Thunderstorm Jonesilyn or Crusher for short had a rough childhood, he was still a girl in that time. His older sister, Hurricane was the parents favorite child. Jinrai Yua Jonesilyn or Grammy used to live with Raijin Jonesilyn (Crusher's father) and Rumbler Thorin Jonesilyn (Crusher's mother) for now because she and her wife, Peruchyu are having a rough time with their relationship. While living with them she noticed how Crusher is not in a good place with his family, Grammy helped him by taking good care of him and moved to her house instead, Crusher's parents did know about Grammy taking Crusher away from them for his own but the parents didn't care less about it. Grammy and Peruchyu are still having rough time but it was slowly going well now. Grammy did all she can to make her grandson happy.
After Crusher passed through high school, he and Grammy decided to live in America permanently for their own goods and Peruchyu can't come with them because she was having a hard time moving to a far place and she was fine all by herself.
In college, Crusher met Maritime Catrina or Gas Guzzler, both were transgender. At first their relationship was simple until Maritime started being a livestreamer and uses Crusher for views, overall she's was a toxic 🐶. Good thing Pickle is here to help him get out of this toxic relationship with Maritime.
Pickle met Crusher at second year of college. He and Pickle would hang out almost everyday when they have free time. Crusher didn't get physical transition but gets voice therapy instead, he was absolutely fine and happy the way he looks but his voice was the only thing that made him feel off.
After both finished college, the canon story begins.
All the scars on both of his front sides came from getting scratched by the cave (in "Defeat The Cheat").
After all the chaotic happened to both him and Blaze in the second truck challenge, that's where the two started to have some feelings for each other. And also let's just say in my AU and HC that all the bad episodes are in the past and good Crusher being happy with Blaze episodes are the present.
At first Crusher was in denial when it comes to having a crush on Blaze on Defeat the Cheat but in The Big Balloon Rescue, Crusher was starting to feel more comfortable with Blaze.
Their hint of flirting at first was just gazing into each others eyes but the longer the relationship goes the closer they got. The gang knew this all because of Pickle! Watts being second.
In Christmas (A Blazing Amazing Christmas), after the work is done with Santa and delivering the gifts and everyone was back at Axle City Crusher was about to confess his feelings for Blaze but Blaze did it first then Crusher also did it right after Blaze it.
Blaze and Crusher got married at the age of 28-29, Crusher took Blaze's last name not because he thinks he's the woman of the relationship but because his last name associated of his past trauma. Crusher had Fiar, his daughter at 29 and Blaze was 31. And that's the end of The Flarelyn story.
Also some things to add:
★ past Crusher used to question himself whether he's Genderfluid or trans. He used to be a drag queen when he's still in his mean era. After awhile he sticks to identifying as both a trans man and Genderfluid who still likes to wear feminine clothes sometimes. No one in Axle City had problem with him being queer because everyone in the city were queer as well.
★ Before all the marriage and baby stuff, Crusher used to be a child psychologist or child therapist (not sure which one but y'all get my point ig) before retiring as racer instead. He still sometimes helps children and gives advice to parents and children.
Hurricane:
When Hurricane was younger she was very spoiled and was careless about her sibling or cousin. The older she got maybe Hurricane wasn't a careless truck at all, she was raised by her parents wrong, she didn't know any better at all as child, although she still beefs with Crusher and Watts most of the time but she's slowly, very slowly kinda recovering from it but it obviously will take a long time for now. She lives own home but still in Japan of course. She has anger issues and other mental health issues.
Hurricane has neutral feelings towards Fiar other than just a silent glare look on her face. Hurricane also doesn't like Blaze but pretends to like him to prevent get in trouble even though everyone knows that she's an absolute 🐶.
Raijin and Rumbler:
Their relationship is quite toxic at the start of their relationship. Both get along and not get along with each other. Raijin almost 💀 from an accident but Rumbler did help him once.
Watts:
Nothing much bad happened to her other than she moved to America at 23 years old to start her life there as a independent truck. She is older than her cousins (Crusher and Hurricane) and Watts was the first one to moved to America before Crusher. Watts has three polyamorous parents, she got her electric tires from Turbyne VoltFluxyan (Watts’ 1st father, the yellow one), she got some of her personality from Nova VoltFluxyan (Watts' 2nd father, the light purple) and her non-binary mother, Zipciye VoltFluxyan was the one who obviously gave birth to her. You might be wondering how this works? Basically the two fathers gave the 🌊 to Zipciye at the same time.
Watts and Starla started their relationship at the beginning of the canon universe, when Blaze met Watts and all that stuff. Starla and Watts consider the farm animals as their children.
When Watts heard about Crusher was pregnant, she was happy to have niece (not sure if that's the right word to used). Watts loves babysitting Fiar when Blaze and Crusher are busy with something that she can't be associated with.
Watts and Starla got their first kiss on Valentine's Day Rescue thanks to Crusher and Blaze with Fiar as well, the fam were helping Watts on trying to make the first move.
Blaze:
Nothing too bad happened to him but I'll still tell some lore about him. When Blaze was younger and didn't have Sparkle yet, he and his parents used to lived in South Korea for quite some time before moving to America instead. No bad reason, they just want to move somewhere else new. He knows more Korean than Spanish. And also in first grade of school, Blaze cries when he gets slightly hurt, even a small paper cut. No one knows this secret besides his family and his other family. Another thing is that Blaze doesn't know how to roller skate and it's quite sheepish for him because he knows how to ice skate but doesn't how to roller skate.
Blaze come out as bisexual at 14 years old to his parents at pride Month because he knew he's parents were also queer and they were obviously proud of him to tell them that. At 16, he came out as Non-binary to everyone this time, not just his family.
Also in third grade he was quite of troublemaker.
Speedrick:
Rick lives in a wealthy family and is very popular at the time when Blaze wasn't around yet (in other words he's still in college). Speederick's mom is original a monster truck just like the rest of her family. Rick's mom met her husband at a building that both used to work somewhere at VelocityVille.
He's kinda jealous now that his cousin, Blaze and his whole family are more popular than him and his own parents when Blaze becomes a monster machine racer.

HI TELLE ME ABOUT YOUR OCS
oh my god i am going to be so normal.
ok so all the ocs im showing you are from the same plot. theg all work for a small government organization codenames eutychus, which specializes in researching and investigating supernatural creatures and making sure they dont actually interact with the general public
this is cecil! (he/him) hes one of the two investigators at eutychus. hes been obsessed with supernatural creatures his WHOLE life. he went to get a degree in paranormal sciences and wrote plenty of papers regarding his research and a lot of them got forcibly removed from public eye because he accidentally revealed classified information! oops
once cecil graduated he was immediately recruited to join eutychus. he was a bit of a prick at first because of his status of a prodigy in his field, thinking that nobody else could do what he did as good as him. hes also incredibly paranoid, so he initially believed people were intentionally trying to sabotage his work.
after a while he warms up to his coworkers and becomes less of a complete prick. only a little bit of a prick.
this is bentley! (he/him) hes the other paranormal investigator at eutychus. bentley is a lot more grounded than cecil and will often have to calm down cecil from pulling some insane shit on the job
bentley grew up with 4 younger siblings and HIGH expectations so obviously hes a little burnt out. he joined eutychus after cecil, and the two had a bit of a rivarly at first. eventually, bentley got tired of cecils bullshit and basically just called him out on everything. thats when he actually won cecils respect and the two started to get along
they eventually started dating!! love wins!
look how cute they are :)
unfortunately cecil ends up losing his mind due to an interaction with a cursed book bound to a god of the sea and destruction, almost kills bentley and almost destroys the world. long story short, he gets dragged back into the plane the god was from (which is a wasteland at this point) and for a few years that was it.
ANYWAYS quick round!!! introducing some other ocs really fast
(note, a few of these belong to @scrunglo but we have joint custody)
so first fella is bentley again, skipping him
next is rosabel! (she/they) one of the two researchers at eutychus. she cares really deeply about everyone there and usually remains the "neutral party" in discussions or arguments. theyre terrified of blood and will faint at the sight of it
next is cecil, skipping him
and then we have iz! (she/her) shes the oldest member of eutychus (both by age or by seniority) shes pretty strong in both will and physical strength and is usually the voice of reason among these more insane characters
and then anya (she/they) shes the head of eutychus! shea often dismissed due to her age vs her job (being a very young hesd of a whole little organization), but shes very good at her job. shes not really knowledgable in eutychus's specifics but shes great and directing everyone where to go. she overworks themselves a lot and often struggles with regulation
say hi to tyler! (he/they) tyler is anya's assistant and childhood friend. he is not qualified at all for absolutely anything, but does have some useful points in some ongoing investigations. overall though he is a failboy
finally we have catrina (she/her) shes the other researcher. shes very bubbly but also really fucking serious. she is very passionate about just about anything and if you try and say some bullshit she will call you out on it!
okay, back to some lore
so after cecil is trapped in the other plane of existance, everyone just accepts cecil is dead for a while. anya tries to hold off the investigation for the longest she can (to give everyone time to process) which ends up being two years.
eventually, further investigation has to be done. statements, all sort of stuff is taken.
tyler ends up cleaning up cecils room and goes through some of cecils notebooks (cecil used to write everything that happened) and finds out cecil knew how to get back himself. tyler ends up telling everyone, and they all jump on the opportunity to bring cecil back
except for bentley.
bentley is very nervous about bringing cecil back because of all the shit that happened to them before. he doesnt really want to acknowledge what happened, and is for the most part still in denial
rosabel gets reasonably pissed at him, and the two end up arguing for a while, while trying to keep it a secret so nobody else gets involved. rosabel might be mad at bentley, but she doesnt want bentley to be shamed for whats happening, you know?
anyways, eventually catrina does find out and is not only mad at bentley, but mad at rosabel for hiding it from her. eventually things do smooth out, and they end up bringing cecil back!
i just realized how much ive written so i will keep this short! After Cecil gets brought back hes deeply paranoid, afraid and overall just not doing so hot. andddd ermmm theres more but i will leave it off there HAHAJSKDKF

catrina today i was sitting in the car and thought abt ur herobrine lore from the legacy series and just Thought about it for a long time and then i was sad like oughougohgough white eyes BBH former Herobrine Michael McChill...
i get very absorbed in novels when i read them and when they're over i just feel kind of sad, like ive lost a part of myself in that story because it's over and i'm not getting it back. idk if that makes sense but yours is the only fanfic that has given me that sense of loss like i'm literally scared to reread it too because it was so good and i'm just not prepared to experience that much emotion again

Olivia and besot have a more detailed story now. and Olivia will be joined by two other characters.Their Names will be Catrina and Sora. funnily enough i DO have my assassin design pretty much ironed out now (thank you SO much to my buddies tourmy and mitch who helped me with the details!).
this is álveo(they/he/she), an assassin who takes their jobs from recently deceased people that want to get revenge/justice for their deaths in exchange for something of equal price. my main inspirations in designing her were xolo dogs, and for the mask ,of course, its the dia de los muertos catrina make-up
they're very focused on their job and duties,with absolutely zero room fro hobbies or personal time. recently, however, being surrounded by all that gloom and doom has made them feel exhausted and on the cusp of burning out, and being chased by those strange humans is certainly not helping matters
mini fun fact: they're actually quite a sloppy assassin, but it doesn't really matter since there's no flesh on their hands, and thus no fingerprints to be worried about. he likes to mainly use their sharp bones/claws to do the job, and sometimes forgets to take off her gloves, resulting in many, many ripped gloves that need replacing
also, if hyde is the "apartment "complex"? really, i find it quite simple" to mateo's "based? based on what?" then álveo is "you're telling me a shrimp fried this rice?" and thus completes them.

Edil's Long Ass Liveblog! s2e3 edition!
Okay so I have a lot of feelings about this episode, but I’ve gotta say it might be my favorite episode of desperado so far? Like I’m a MASSIVE fan of someone to dance with and the ending of s2e1 is a scene that will echo in my brain until I fucking die, but this one just had so much in it...like so much. Multiple things that i was like “wow I hope this shows up in desperado eventually!” happened this episode, and I feel just elated. Anyways enough pre liveblog rambles, here’s the tea.

I'm SO conflicted because on one hand Catrina can go FUCK herself right now but on the other hand I think I recognize the pattern of behavior as like, She knows Talia and the Baron will be fine, or at least things she knows, and she know she and Shinji aren't friends and therefore can't offer comfort because like fuck he's gonna accept that. So she's got priorities and it's a situation that means no way you spin it can Shinji get his needs met without derailing something major but of course HE doesn't know that he has no way of knowing he just has to endure the bullshit and it's not fair but they're fair from reaching the kind of world where fairness can be a concern. HOWEVER, I find it very very interesting that elio know Catrina as a very matronly goddess, someone who took care of her people first.
