it's finally here! I've texture defaulted a bunch of (not all, some are just too uggo to me) base game hairs in the @antoninko afterglow hair system!

Why texture defaults? They make use of the hair meshes already in your game (low polycount meshes that won't tax your PC too), and make bulk creating nice looking townies much easier 💖

These wouldn't exist without Aquilegia's Pooklet texture defaults! most of the alphas and some of the textures are just theirs with a fresh coat of paint. Also you should check the page because there's their repo files to get more out of these hairs, plus some hiders for more ugly ones. However a few of the alphas are my own work as the ones already available didn't suit me perfectly, notably messy (F), meg, shortcute, and long (Bella Goth's hair). Hello, everyone! Welcome to my simblr!

My name is Mia, I'm seventeen (I'll be eighteen in March of 2024! However, if my age makes you uncomfortable, dni!) I am Black, and am currently a high school student, with plans to major in psychology. My favorite colors are neutrals, and my favorite singer at the moment is Mac Ayres.

I've had a simblr account before, but that was about 4 years ago when I was thirteen and solely used a crap load of alpha custom content. I am now maxis mix, and a lot of my sims have a soft, neutral style, and I'm very excited to bring you guys content!

Since a handful of people have recently joined my page, I wanted to create a lil about me section and properly introduce myself!

Hi, I'm Madi, a photographer, and I am a huge sims lover. I've been playing since 2010 when I dabbled in the Sims 3 for the first time, and since then it has been a very touch and go love of mine. I'll binge it for three months then disappear for three years. However, I wish to change that with this account.

In the past I did run a Simstagram account under the same name and if you knew me from there, hi again! If not, don't worry, you only missed out on my overly saturated and poorly edited photos. I was also fully alpha cc content back then, yuck!

With this account I wish to do a lot of lookbooks as well as do personal posts. Overall, I just want to have fun and make friends with everyone in the simblr community.

I hope with this lil bio you can get a touch of who I am as a person and want to stick around. Hope you're have having an amazing start to 2023!

i am so late to this but thank you to everyone who tagged and mentioned me!! i loved reading your answers, i love being nosy.

let me get this first q out of the way:

Who's your favourite sim that you've made?

it's a tie between my 2 little meow meows pictured above 🥺

amir because he's the oc i'm most attached to and have most fully developed

vlad because i just love the way his sim turned out and he's such a fun character to think about

if they ever met, vlad would be like "greetings." and amir would be like "bro what the fucckkk" 😭

speaking of vampires i also love the idea of au-vampire-amir being this ashamed, existential crisis having vegetarian vampire who struggles with controlling and hiding his bloodlust.

i never get bored coming up with ideas for those 2.

What's your favourite Sims death?

it's been YEARS since i intentionally made any of sims die. i barely do gameplay these days and i am attached to the sims i make. but when i used to play sims chaotically, i preferred to "accidentally" murder sims by fire instead of deleting the pool ladder. i would furnish their houses with the cheapest stoves and fireplaces, and sit back and watching the inevitable unfold... it was the final destination fan in me.

Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

i can't live without alpha hair and i love a well done piece of alpha clothing.

Favourite Mod?

CmarNYC morphing penis 😐

for a sfw mod, pose player was truly a game changer, can't play without it.

i never bought any of them 💅 the first one i p*rated was late night because umm a fancy city, bars and clubs, celebs and vampires, 2000s hoe clothes... what more could you want!

if we're talking about TS4, i think the ginger hair colour is okay and the grey too. for TS3, i don't use any of the default hair colour presets.

i've tried so hard and i just cannot enjoy any of them compared to the alpha cc hair available. in my opinion this is the least offensive one, the "teddy" from the store:

i've considered recording, editing and uploading speed CAS videos but it seems like a lot of effort 😭

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing?

i've always preferred creating masculine male sims/characters, that hasn't changed throughout the years. i've learned how to take better pictures, how to style my sims better, how to create the kinds of clothes i want to style them in, and i've learned my preferred slider settings and facial features/proportions. i make the same "genre" of male sims over and over and over again, so my style hasn't really changed, but my skills have improved and i've solidified my aesthetic which i am proud of :D

Who's your favourite CC creator?

i really can't pick a favourite because there is just so much sheer talent and a thriving cc community even today, but if i had to pick one, i would say rustynail. i used the shit out of their cc back in the day. everything my sims wore was straight off the runway darling... rusty brought glamour and high fashion to the sims! an inspiration.

How long have you had a simblr?

since even before 2013 😭 tumblr was my main social media for many years LMFAOOOOO and i made a simblr after following many ts3 blogs, being wowed by their screenshots, and i wanted to join in on the fun and wanted to download all the cool cc people were making... that was the start of my ts3 obsession !

How do you edit your pictures?

i use a gshade preset i made, then i mostly just crop and add text in gimp. i don't have the patience to edit my pics.

What expansion/ stuff pack is your favourite?

late night duh and seasons is a close second because it just makes the game so much more immersive and beautiful. pets is also a top one because it adds so much to the game, it's such a well thought out pack in my opinion, and what life simulator can be complete without pets?

Hello! 💕 Of course, that's no problem at all! I'm just going to make a long list with some creator recommendations if that's alright with you! I will warn you... it's a long post lol. I went into my downloads folder and pulled creators that I noticed appeared frequently. Obviously there are probably some great creators I missed, but I did try to feature as many as I could think of!

Note that I'm a maxis-mix simblr, so some of these might lean alpha (with the exceptions of hairs, I exclusively use maxis match hair). But if you are against alpha all together, just ignore those suggestions obviously haha!

@darte77: just scroll down their patreon posts, they are one of the holy grails of my masc sim cc.

@gorillax3-cc: so many good masc frame clothes on their website.

@qrqr19: hairs!

@johnnysimmer: hairs, lots of great hairs (has child versions of their hairs, too!)

@christopher067: a few simple but fashionable masc frame tops and bottoms along with a wide array of masc frame accessories (jewelry that usually works on both m-frame and f-frame).

@plushxsims: clothes, pants chains and belts, kind of edgy and I like that (leans alpha).

@sforzcc: even if I'm doing a "vanilla" playthrough, their cc usually stays in game lol. The pants and shirts variations are my favorite. Added bonus that the t-shirt variants are perfect because you can have a group where they all wear matching shirts but have the realism of reflecting personality (one person might wear a crop and one might not, someone might roll their sleeves someone might have holes in their shirt etc. but they can all have the same design and I like that personal touch of realism for like werewolf packs and such but I digress).

@softerhaze: specifically this pack they just put out. Great basics, very versatile, looks good on a wide range of masc frames.

@wistfulpoltergeist: lots of versatile male hairs and accessories.

@ceeproductions

@liliili-sims4: huge section of masc cc (even has a male cc pack). Love the unisex scarf accessories.

@amelylinaa*: does upload on simsfinds/simsdom, so warning for that, but lots of good clothes.

@aharris00britney: Obviously they make a lot of fem frame cc too, but I have every single male item they've ever created in my game because it is really well done.

@okruee: some of my favorite male hairs

@wyattssims: has two menswear fashion packs with a lot of content in each, just really good maxis match pieces.

@evellsims and @regina-raven both have some great goth maxis match cc that has fem frame and male frame variants, so it's versatile and not so "in the box" of atypical "average-joe" jeans and flannel, if you're into that!

@the-crypt-o-club: More punk/goth/edgy staple pieces for masc sims. Really unique cc with a ton of personality and versatility.

@clumsyalienn: they do a good mix of male and female cc. I have everything they've ever put out in my game tbh and their masc hair and clothes are versatile (they even have some great accessories for male sims as well).

@joliebean and @ice-creamforbreakfast: again, masc and fem cc. But their stuff is great quality and unique, they really hit formal wear for dudes, a category which I think is lacking in game imo.

@happylifesims: they have some great vintage pieces that also work for more intellectual or professional masc frame sims.

@pralinesims, @greenllamas: these two have a wide variety of cc but their beard packs for male sims are my go-tos because they have varying thickness and textures.

@simandy: all of their cc is great, but specifically this pack for male sims is a must have. The hairs in it are *chefs kiss*.

@igorstory: lots of facial hair

Gonna admit this section and the kids section might look short but that's because a lot of toddler creators also create child cc and likely fall in the "additional" category below!

@casteru: you literally can't have a cc rec list for toddlers and not include them, as they cover a wide array of basics. To me, they are the golden goose of toddler cc.

@rebekhanasims: cute clothes, great accessories (pacifiers, bonnets, hats, headbands).

@thecrybabystore

@georgiaglm: has some child pieces sprinkled in, but mainly toddlers.

@powluna

@ravensim: hairs, a few cute accessories like a crown, missing shoes, etc.

@madlensims: a lot of fem frame cc, but they have a ton of cute toddler and kids stuff, too (accessory backpacks and clothes).

@daisy-pixels: clothes cc. Super easy to navigate their patreon as you can just go to their "child" tag and download what you like.

@onyxsims: they do toddler cc, too! Huge variety.

Simiracle

C-Cerberus-sims: hair conversions folder HERE (their account doesn't exist on Tumblr any more). I pretty much exclusively use their hair conversions tbh.

@tommeraas-cc: has toddler cc, too!

@maytaiii: hair conversions and accessories (their crown and little face band-aid they just uploaded is so adorable).

ADDITIONALLY (specific things that fall in multiple categories):

@nucrests: child cc packs and loads of masc frame cc.

@simkoos: similar to nucrests, they have a good variety to child cc and masc cc (but they also have a few toddler items as well. The child items are my favorite though as they are unique and versatile).

@jius-sims have two children and toddler shoe collections that I recommend, and they also have two men's shoes collections!!

@lazyeyelids: they have a lot of great child cc and teen-elder masc frame cc.

Some of the old CC sets by @plumbobteasociety cover toddlers, children, and masc frame sims (I have cottage garden and rustic romance in my game). Obviously they have been inactive for a while, so hairs are missing the new swatches but the clothes and accessories are still very much worth it.

@rustys-cc: mentioning them because while they do make a lot of fem frame cc, they also have a sprinkling of hidden gem child and masc frame cc that is unique and well made (hairs/accessories/and outfits).

Vintagesimmer has some great cc for kids and toddlers that I enjoy, but it can lean alpha/maxis mix so if that's not your thing I'd stay away, but still thought they were worth mentioning!

@giuliettasims makes great accessories for fem sims, but for toddlers and children too.

Skin Details, overlays, presets blurb: I didn't really talk about these things because I consider them to be in their own category; I'd have to make an entirely different post on my genetic cc (I find everyone has their own method on this that works with their style). Additionally, a lot of skin overlays for masc sims aren't made specific to gender. This is usually true with age too, in the case of toddlers and children. However, I will note some general things I like that might fall under this category:

This hair overlay by @zombietrait changed my life because it helps unify the dark hair swatch more than anything or make the dark brown swatch true dark brown and etc. If two hairs in the same swatch don't match, this almost always fixes the problem.

THIS gray hair overlay by @sunnybelloria (works for fem sims, too) is necessary. Also THIS graying beard accessory for masc sims by @igorstory is my fave.

What’s your favorite Sims death?

None (hate it when it happens); the most frequent one in my gameplays is the old age one.

Alpha CC or Maxis Match? A mix between the two, it depends how well the CC matches the game's art style.

Do you cheat your sims weight? Not really; what I cheat is how muscular my female sims are as I play a lot the Acrobat career in TS3 Showtime and my girls bulk up too fast and too much.

Do you move objects? Ever since I learned about this particular (and very useful) cheat, yes.

Favorite Mod? Most of the Nraas mods, all of @thesweetsimmer111 fabulous baby/toddler mods and also small ones to correct some stuff in the game (like No Mascot Camera Zoom, No Autonomous Gaming, Autonomous Wash Hands After Toilet Use, Zoom-In CaS Camera, etc)

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack? World Adventures.

Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing? aLIVE

Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? A lot of them, for different reasons.

Selena Noble - a ballerina (now an acrobat) with no moral compass. But I think she's cute so she's my muse for the balletcore collection.

Lin Young - my fearless adventurer.

Riley Preston - my talented artist.

Hope London - my dedicated gardener.

These three: Mel Hada, Ren Akiba & Jace White (aka Yasu Sato). They are the MCs from "Uncertainty".

I don't have pics of them right now, but I also have to mention: Sasha Azarov, Daichi & Rei Sato, Ayanna Sato, Sebastian DeLuca.

Have you made a simself? The first sim I ever made was a simself. It did not go well.

Which is your favorite EA hair color? None; since it's TS3 I mix them according to my characters.

Favorite EA hair? Not really using the EA hairs usually, but I'd choose the Playful Updo from Late Night.

Favorite life stage? I play a lot the YA & A life stages, but also enjoy all the other ones.

Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? I'm in for everything the game has to offer: gameplay, building, CAW, CC creation.

Are you a CC creator? Yup.

Do you have any Simblr friends or a Sim Squad? I wouldn't say a squad, but I do have people here that I admire and like to interact with.

Do you have any sims merch? Nope.

Do you have a YouTube for sims? Yes (as I'm an ex-machinima creator), but these days I'm only using it when I have animations to share.

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing? In every possible way. I put a lot more thought into my builds (and worlds), my sims no longer look like aliens (I used to make them have these big anime eyes) and my gameplays are more wish-based than ever.

Who’s your favorite CC creator? So many of them since I'm a big CC hoarder. As Daniel said, everyone who brings something to this game is a champion and deserves accolades.

But to mention only a few, I'd say @simtanico for their high quality items, @enable--llamas for the awesome furniture, ArtVitalex & Onyxium over at TSR who both still create furniture for TS3, Bill-Sims also at TSR, @sim-songs here on Tumblr for their conversions, @technicallyswagpizza for their amazing plants (and tutorials that taught me a lot), @yorithesims and @bmit04 for poses; @maryjanesims3 & @agnelid for hair default replacements, and so many more. Sorry, I can't remember everyone right now.

How long have you had Simblr? Since January 2019.

How do you edit your pictures? For more aesthetic pics I use Reshade and PS (although I don't remember ever posting these types of pics), but I usually just slightly adjust the brightness, contrast, saturation and exposure in PS as I love the TS3's default art style (I'm just spicing it up a little).

What expansion/ gamepack is your favorite? Kinda all of the expansion packs?! Mainly Seasons, World Adventures, Late Night, Island Paradise, Generations. Also love all the functional store content and worlds.

Thank you to @rstarsims3 for the tag! 😊 What’s your favorite Sims death? None, I never let my sims die anymore because I get too attached to them 😂

Alpha CC or Maxis Match? I prefer Maxis Match, but I don't mind throwing in a bit of Alpha here and there.

Do you cheat your sims weight? I've only ever made one of my female sims less buff, but she proceeded to get very buff again so I just left her.

Probably the first EP that I actually wanted was either Generations or Pets, because my mom already had other ones that I wasn't interested in enough to remember (definitely Late Night though, I do remember one time randomly turning one of my mom's families all into vampires when I was like 7 or 8 😂).

Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? My most favorite would be Mari Martinez, who was a gen 3 sim from my old legacy save from a couple years ago that I happened to really like. She went through a few changes though 👀 Left is how she is now and the right is her from the legacy save. The one on the bottom is her and her husband Enzo 🥰

I do love this family right above as well though, I used to play them a lot before and occasionally now 😄 Have you made a simself? I have, my profile pic is actually supposed to be me and my dalmatian dog Disney (who's passed on now). It doesn't really look like me at all though because my sim making skills are pretty bad and even the hair color is too light but you get the general look 😅 Which is your favorite EA hair color? I've always preferred brown hair, but I like any hair color.

I'm actually more in it for the creation of mods hehe, but I do like to just sit and play sometimes, especially in TS2, and I do love building houses but mostly in TS2 as well because it does get a bit frustrating with TS3 and how laggy it can get with the create-a-style tool.

When I first started playing probably over a decade ago I just used to create couples and make them have like 5 kids, then kick the kids out when they reached adults then make the couple have more kids and the cycle pretty much never ended 😂 Then I started to play more legacies and tried challenges, but as always I got too attached to my sims and I couldn't continue them. Then I got into making mods and so here I am, I don't really actually play much anymore. Who’s your favorite CC creator? I love most of the stuff from @xiasimla, @sim-songs, @johziii, @nectar-cellar and a few others.

How long have you had Simblr? I think 2 years now? I just used to lurk around and download CC at first but then I decided I wanted to post my things here too 😄

How do you edit your pictures? Sometimes I don't edit them, but if I do I use Photoshop to enhance the vibrance and add in a bit of depth of field. Though I've finally gotten reshade to work now so I probably won't edit them anymore.

What’s your favorite Sims death?

There’s the one where you can use the Wishing Well and ask for money and the money bag falls on your sim’s head and k!lls them. Hilarious!

Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

I love clay hairs and I love old Peggy and Helga hairs too. Some TS2 clothing meshes have never held any appeal for me, and some alpha stuff that is very beloved leaves me cold. I like the beta look too! I’ve already shared my love of beta-esque eyes.

I've been collecting CC for much too long. Sometimes I go digging through my old af clothing CC wondering what if??? should I recolor that???? is this mesh good, actually?????

I’ve considered getting rid of all of my custom windows and doors (save a few special ones). I feel like Maxis has given us everything we could ask for and more. Plus it might save space for even more CC. More rc's of what I have, less new meshes.

Do you cheat your sims weight?

Like, use cheats for thinness/fatness? No. Not unless I am checking to see if a fat morph I made works.

Do you move objects?

I’ll move any object I damn well please, yeah.

Favorite Mod?

I could say something boring like Gussy Up or the Sim Manipulator but instead I’ll say something cool like the trainset does not catch on fire because it is cool when an object does not have 2% chance of combusting 😎

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack?

I really wanted Hot Date as a kid but was mortified to ask for it, so I think I had Deluxe instead?

For TS2 - that would be University I think

Less grungy! Well, more lightly grungy. Less subject to trends. I’ve been a lot more careful about what I download. I delete stuff all the time.

barely lol. I use one of @pooklet's Photoshop actions

Sometimes a tiny bit of photoshopping for an Apoc C.O.W. picture to adjust a finger or get something to look less clippy but that’s it.

TS1 – always makin magic

TS2 – I want it to be OFB but OFB is so busted. Seasons I guess! I like weather and plants.

What's your favourite Sims death?

Usually i don’t kill my sims but if it’s needed...hehe. I choose “fast” death by pool, but my favorite is death by jelly bean. Like, this is so funny to me to die because of jelly beans? This is so resonating with me because i love candies so much i could die lol. And i also love the ghost it’s purple, haha.

Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

Alpha for sure!

Do you cheat your sims weight?

Only once when i played with Tatyana at the Isla Paradiso. She used to swim a lot and her chubby shapes have constantly dissappeared and i always had to get back her normal chubby weight, hehe.

Do you use move objects?

Yes! But i try not to use it that much when i play casual gameplay. Sims might not like my way of placing the objects 🙄

Favourite Mod?

Master Controller! I can’t imagine how i lived without this mod earlier. And the story progression mod is must have tho.

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack?

Hmm, i can’t really remember, it must be Late Night. Back then, i was soooo amazed by the Bridgeport and vampires in game. This EP completely changed my view of the game. I still love the aesthetics of this one.

Do you pronounce live mode or aLIVE or LiVing?

I don’t actually speak english, but i think this should sound like aLIVE.

Whos your favourite sim that you've made?

Are you serious? I have like 30+ sims and you force me to choose only one? That’s cruel. I’m torn apart between Tatyana and Francine. Okay, Francine. She is one of my sims that have really detailed story and biography.

Yup! It’s Marzia.

Which is your favourite EA hair colour?

I don’t usually use them, but i like how the default red looks like.

Of course Deb’s hairstyle. I really love this hair since i first saw it installed in my game and still amazed of how it styled. And i love how the roots look like. A true EA’s masterpiece.

Adult

Are you a builder or are you in it for gameplay?

I don’t know how to build, lol. Only decorate (still not very good tho) sometimes i love to gameplay but still i’m more like editor and CAS person.

Are you a CC creator?

More like CC converter. Well, this still counts, i think. I would love to create something by myself and i already have some thoughts about what it can be, but currently have no time for it :(

Do you have any Simblr friends or a Sim Squad?

I have a lot of friends only because of simblr community!

@myopicshen is my one and only best friend! We have seen each other last year and hope to see again this summer! She is not into sims community anymore but we still communicate. I show her my edits and screenshots, tell something about my OC and etc. I’m trying to get her back to the sims but she didn’t want to 😭😔 I loved her sims and edits sooo much.

How has your ''Sims Style'' changed throughout your years of playing?

There was a long road, huh. This picture is not so accurate bc it’s old but my style was always volatile. I love to do something noir styled (or close to that) at the same time i can’t refuse to do something colorful and experimental.

Since February 2016. It’s turned 8 this year!

How do you edit your pictures?

Since i had graphic tablet my possibilites have become bigger! I love to draw shadows, highlights and hair strands to make the portrait more realistic. I also use liquify tool to smooth edges. And of course color correction. Reshade is good, but not really accurate for me. At the end of the editing i put some filters from Alien Skin Exposure and the final touches: portrait blur and noise.

What expansion/ stuff pack is your favourite?

Uhm, university? I’m torn apart between Supernatural and University. These are both my endless vibing favorites. They are like completely two other worlds!

What’s your favourite sims death? I would have to say...probably flies. Never had it happen in my game (naturally), tho

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match? 4t2 maxis match conversions, because it's gross and ugly :p No, but for real, I like all cc. People put a lot of time and love into what they create/convert/retexture/recolor. I think that should be recognized.

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? No...who does that?

4. Do you use move objects? Yes, kind of have to sometimes!

5. Favorite mod? I had to go into my main save for this one haha. I'd say...all the anti-corruption mods. And to piggy back off of brandinotbroke, ACR! The rest I could probably live without if I could ever sort my folder. Oh, also, one mod I'd really like to give a try is Story Progression by LazyDuchess.

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? First purchased was Christmas 2005. My parents gifted me Sims 2 and then my birthday a month later I got University, I believe. I should show you all the video of me opening it and running off to play haha. First played was, I wanna say Urbz! and Bustin' Out. We would rent those from the video store.

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing? Alive. I recently found out my IRL BFF pronounces it as Living. I've known her almost 20 years and feel like I don't know her anymore 😅

8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? Rhiannon, one of my model sims, but all 4 of my models are my favorite. I really should put Rhiannon as a townie in my uberhood. She deserves a life outside of posing.

9. Have you made a simself? Yes, like 18 years ago lol. Ended up corrupting the hood trying to move me with my 10 same face kids to a new neighborhood. I've really enjoyed the premade sims ever since.

25. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next? Brandinotbroke gave the best answer haha. I honestly don't know what kit EA can come up with next

25. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far? For Sims 2, probably Nightlife. The first 3 EPs, honestly. Sims 3 has to be Ambitions and Generations. Idk about Sims 4 as most I've played is about 2 hours in Strangerville as the Beakers.

1. What’s your favorite sims death? well, I prefer my sims not to die at all 🤭 if they do, it’s usually from a good old age

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match? today it’s mostly maxis match / maxis mix. I had an alpha phase during the sims 2-3 era though

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? nope. I do not mind if they gain/lose weight on their own

4. Do you use move objects? always

5. Favorite mod? First Impressions and PreferencesPlus, these are relatively small mods, but they give sims some much needed depth

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? for Sims 4 it was City Living and Vampires, if I remember correctly. for sims in general, it was Makin’ Magic🪄

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing? aLIVE

8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? well, I played with a particular redhead sim a few years ago, he was beautiful and very evil 😁 had a lot of fun, will definetely recreate him in the future

what's your favourite sims death?

ngl i dont actually have one, im terrified of any of my babies dying so they never do...but i guess old age maybe? because that means theyve lived a long life and ive played with them for a long time?

alpha cc or mm?

alpha HANDS DOWN...i dont hate mm by any means dont get me wrong, but ill always be an alpha girl at heart. its the alpha hairs, they always get me.

do you cheat your sims weight?

only if it fits their character i guess? not usually in gameplay.

do you move objects

i move objects every single day.

fave mod?

ooofff i mean out of necessity? nraas. but just the one i love? hands down pose player. mostly because i was so excited when i finally got it to work (i was like 13 or something and before then i could not figure out how to get mods to work) so a lot of happy memories from finally getting my sims to pose.

first expansion/game pack/stuff pack?

my first ever was sims 2 glamour life stuff pack when i was a kid. if we're talking sims 3, i believe the first pack i got was generations, which is still my favourite sims pack ever.

i pronounce it LIVE, always have as far as i know.

well, its gotta be elodie honestly. she and eli are the longest sims i have ever had and i love them both dearly. in the sims 4, its gotta be my girl pippa. before tumblr? i had this family called the moretti's, i miss them and i think about them way too often. i loved them all.

have you made a simself?

oh yeah. loads of times. i think ive shared my sims 3 and sims 4 variations on tumblr (but they look really weird tbh). i love making myself, cause then i can wear all these clothes i cant afford in real life.

favourite ea hair

im with aimee on this one.

im mostly joking, but usually sims 3 hairs are a no go for me, except for some store ones and the hairs that are pulled back into buns always look really nice. for sims 4, only the newer ones. the older ones are not for me.

favourite life stage?

young adult. i feel like you can always do more with young adult sims and you have so much more time (except in sims 1 i believe?and sims 2 only if u went to uni?? idk). 90% of my sims are forever young adults because i love that life stage so much.

are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?

mate ive been trying to build for donkeys years to no avail. so im almost always in it for the gameplay.

are you a cc creator?

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA BAHAHAHA HA once upon a time bro maybe. your girl tries to be, but uni is a pain in my bottom, and sims 3 loves making my life difficult.

somehow i do?? more friends then irl anyway. the girl gang is @thesimperiuscurse , @lazysunjade & @amuhav these 3 have put up with me despite my crazy personality for an incredibly amount of time and i love them all dearly. but i have so many friends on here its crazy (more than 3 people its incredible!). obviously they havent seen my real personality yet. besties include: @catharsim , @plumbobem , @johziii , @rollo-rolls , @moonsonnet , oh gosh im forgetting people I AM SO SORRY I LOVE U ALL SO MUCH

bro i wish, but no money. spent it all on anno 1800. no regrets.

i believe formally i do, but i dont post anything. i do have some ideas if i ever wanted to, but my adhd brain couldnt cope being consistent so i probably never will.

as in sims or gameplay? idk ill talk about both. gameplay wise, not much, except im weirdly a lot more controlling then i was over my sims WHOOPS. but i still cant get passed gen 2 so that hasn't changed. but i still prefer family gameplay, probably always will. and challenges, always challenges. sims wise? a lot.

with my blood, sweat and tears. im not joking, a lot of sweat and tears goes on when im editing.

what expansion/gamepack is your faveourite?

of all time? generations, no doubt in my mind. i never had any sims 1 or sims 2 expansions, so i never got to experience those unfortunately. generations was perfection though. i mean, boarding school? lifesaver. also led to the best sims series of all time: lifesimmer's generations. for sims 4 though? probably get together, purely because of the world.

1. What’s your favourite sims death? Never thought about having a favourite, maybe the cowplant? Or maybe when death results from something usually mundane like hail or lightning (I’ve had that one).

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match? Mainly Maxis match, but I think of my style as like 90% MM and 10% semi-realistic (more on the BB side) because I do find the occasional thing that fits in with my style from that aesthetic. And I feel like my style is somewhere between the true Maxis match and the cartoony style.

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? No? Seems odd!

4. Do you use move objects? Constantly, it’s on more than it’s off. I have an alias set up in my cheat file.

5. Favorite mod? Wow that’s a hard one to narrow down, so I’m gonna choose a few. Based on what has the biggest and most widespread effects, I’d say ACR, Community Lot time, and the whole Traits system (that’s cheating since it’s a million mods but I don’t care lol)

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? Would have been the very first pack, so University I guess! When the games came out I was living at home still and my mom played too, so we always got them relatively soon. Uni came out a month or so before my birthday so I suspect I probably got it as a gift that year.

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing? LIVE as in LIVING, @eulaliasims is 1000% correct.

8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? So not counting born in game? Sort of a tie but I’ve always been very fond of Joshua and Roxanne Lewis, they were two of Brightmaple’s founders - the first ones I thought up, and first ones I created.

9. Have you made a simself? Yes, in my old neighbourhood, I was a vampire along with the Sim version of my cousin. We lived in a huge Victorian mansion I built where I sent all the vampires in the hood to live.

10. What sim traits do you give yourself? Brooding, couch potato, good, loves the heat, hopeless romantic

11. Which is your favorite EA hair color? Don’t really have one I guess.

12. Favorite EA hair? Also don’t really have one lol.

13. Favorite life stage? Probably adult because the most happens, but I also really enjoy toddler which is a hot take in most circles.

14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? Both! The building is fun and a creative outlet for me, but I do it so I can create more immersive and enjoyable worlds to play in too.

15. Are you a CC creator? Yes but on and off, I do it purely for fun and primarily for things I want in my game. So I take long breaks of making nothing at all, when I’m not in the mood.

16. Do you have any simblr friends/a sim squad? I wouldn’t really say so? I do chat with people from time to time and have lots of great acquaintances on here! I find it to be a generally very nice community. But I usually find online friendship difficult since I find it harder to read people purely through text with no baseline for knowing them irl, for things like tone of voice/mannerisms/body language and just general vibe.

17. What’s your favorite game? (1, 2, 3, or 4) Well I think it’s pretty obvious TS2 has ruined all other games for me (not just other Sims games either).

18. Do you have any sims merch? nope

19. Do you have a YouTube for sims? Actually yes! For speed builds.

20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing? Gotten more Maxis match in terms of aesthetic, if you scroll back to like, pre-2017 on my blog you can see that for sure. For play style it’s a lot more structured - pure rotational so ages sync, more wants based, paying a lot more attention to their personalities etc.

21. What’s your Origin ID? I’ve been playing with either the RPC Launcher or a no-CD crack since the day I switched to the UC, so although I do have an Origin ID I’ve literally used it probably twice ever. So no idea!

22. Who’s your favorite CC creator? There’s too many to pick!

23. How long have you had a simblr? My very first Simblr post was July 31, 2016. Before that I had a bit of a hiatus from playing for a few years, and before that I was on Livejournal/Dreamwidth.

24. How do you edit your pictures? My photo editing program (PSP8) is literally from the era of TS2 itself, which seems appropriate. It’s always worked perfectly well for me - I downloaded Photoshop a couple times but always found doing the same actions clunky and unfamiliar, so I stick with what I know. I adjust curves, saturation, and add a very slight (probably imperceptible) bloom effect. Then I crop in, and I resize by width - meaning my pics are always the same width, but the height varies slightly. I prioritize getting everything into the frame that I want, and don’t really care if the heights are different.

25. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next? If I were making up hypothetical TS2 EP’s? I wouldn’t have minded something like Superstar from the Sims 1, having my Sims become famous (if it was done more like OFB/hands on style rather than “off to work in a carpool for the day” style) would have been pretty fun.

26. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far? That’s really tough to pick. Probably Seasons (such world building!), Freetime (the hobbies system adds so much depth for me!) or Open For Business (my whole hood has no EA careers and only businesses sooo...) or Pets?? I love my Sims having pets. They’re all so good!

What’s your favorite Sims death?

I generally don't allow my sims to die of anything but old age, but I would like to try out all the different deaths and ghosts at some point. The haunting curse ghost looks especially cool.

Alpha CC or MaxisMatch?

A mix of both? I tend to use Maxis-type clothes and furniture with textured patterns. I like most of my stuff to be fairly gameplay-friendly as well and it bothers me when there's clipping with sims animations so I don't use too many alpha clothes.

Do you cheat your sims weight?

Not generally, but I find that most EA sims are just very skinny? I had the pregnancy weight-gain mod installed, but the results were so extreme that I removed it and cheated the weight myself.

Do you move objects?

I mainly use it for storytelling, but is it even possible to play this game without using move objects sometimes?

Favorite Mod?

What an impossible question! If I had to choose one mod I can't live without, it'd be NRaas MasterController, but in terms of gameplay mods, I'm really enjoying adding new recipes and harvestables to my game these days. That's a lot of different mods together, so maybe I'm cheating a bit with that answer, haha.

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack?

The first sims game I was ever able to successfully install was Sims 2 and I think it was a "Deluxe" package that came with Nightlife? I don't remember what my first pack was for Sims 3. Maybe Late Night as well?

Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing

It's an adjective, isn't it? Like 'alive.' Listen, I get that it's probably supposed to be the other one, since they have some weird theme of using verbs as adjectives. But 'live' is already an adjective, so no-one is going to say it that way.

Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?

How can I choose just one?? I do obviously love Rose a lot. She's adorable.

Have you made a simself?

Oh yes. Honestly I'm shocked so many of you don't. I automatically insert myself into every fantasy hahaha I am very self-absorbed.

Which is your favorite EA hair color?

I don't even really remember which ones there are as defaults in Sims 3? I don't particularly love any of them.

Favorite EA hair?

Hmmm I enjoy the long male hair from Supernatural, especially on beardy men. And I also really like the 'modern braids' female hair from the store.

Favorite life stage?

Like most people, it's YA, sorry.

Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?

Definitely gameplay. I am trying to be a bit better at building, but it's such a slog.

Are you a CC creator?

I have dabbled, so I suppose, technically yes.

Do you have any Simblr friends or a Sim Squad?

I don't know about a 'squad' but I'm pretty sure I have friends. I don't discord or anything, so if we're commenting on each other's posts, then I consider us friends? Hopefully that's okay lol

No, I have no interest in trying to play the game in a way that's entertaining for other people. I do that the rest of the day; sims time is just for me.

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing?

I've put a lot more effort into aesthetics recently. Setting things up takes more time but I get a lot more enjoyment out of the game once it's done.

What’s your origin id?

I guess I probably have made one at some point but I have no idea what it is and I don't think I've ever used it. It's also just as likely that I actually don't have one.

Who’s your favorite CC creator?

So many impossible questions 😭 There's no way I can choose only one, but these days I'm always eagerly anticipating posts from @nightospheresims, @sim-songs, and @nectar-cellar.

How long have you had simblr?

It's complicated, haha! I had a simblr way back in... 2011-2012-ish? It was a messy time on simblr and in my life so I was never really able to develop a healthy relationship with it and I eventually deleted my blog after being inactive for a long time. Then after continuing my legacy story just for myself at a snail's pace for about a decade, I decided it was time to share with y'all again, and I opened this blog in October 2021.

How do you edit your pictures?

Reshade is first, and if a shot is taken outdoors and it's for a gameplay post, then sometimes that's it. If it's a bit darker than I'd like, I might apply all or part of this action using Photopea. Sometimes even more than once if it's really dark.

If it's a storytelling shot, I'll then also do manual debanding by selecting an area, copying it to a new layer, applying a gaussian blur, and then erasing around the edges to clean it up. It's tedious but also relaxing? And very satisfying in the end.

What expansion/ gamepack is your favorite?

Sims 3 has so many bangers but I love Ambitions a lot even though it's a glitchy mess sometimes. It's just so much fun.
