Buggy

• It is SO easy to catch this man off guard, he’s always ranting about one thing or the other. It’s either that or he’s drinking and partying the day away!

• So it’s a huge surprise when you kiss his cheek, and go back to your current task at hand as if nothing happened, and yes he absolutely WILL throw a fit when you pretend nothing happened.

• Claims he’s not embarrassed about the sudden kiss, but the shade of his face proves otherwise, he’s totally shocked.

• Deep down he probably appreciates it, but he’s simply too stubborn to admit it!

Shanks

• Sees it coming but pretends he doesn’t, will gladly return the kiss unless you’re feeling playful and run away. In which case a chase will ensue, he WILL get that kiss.

• kisses are such a huge thing between you two, much to the dismay of the other Red Haired Pirates, he’s such a physical and affectionate person, intimacy is a huge thing in your relationship!

• Hes so affectionate, and always playful with you, it’s almost as if you make him feel like a young man again.

•I personally think surprise ones would be his favorite because of their playful nature.

• The look on your face when you think you’ve shocked him simply makes him melt. So he allows you to believe he was completely unware of your plans, because he finds the expression on your face so worth it <3

Portgas D. Ace

• He is the king of suprises, though they blend in with pranks a lot of the time. He’s always finding ways to surprise you, whether it be with small gifts or tricks he’s picked up, he loves to impress you.

• So when you return the favor with a suprise kiss he’s over the moon. He was in his own little world, looking over the railing of the Moby Dick when he felt the peck you delivered. Prepare for it to be an all out kiss war!!

• Much like Shanks these kisses are playful! They involve you stealing his hat and usually tumbling over one another as he fights to get it back!

• I feel he takes enjoyment out of your suprise affections, because god knows he absolutely needs all the love you give him.

• He’s not shy giving you sudden kisses either, whatever you give him he returns! Whether you’re in the dining room, out shopping, on the deck of the Moby Dick, he’ll give you wonderful surprise kisses <3

Sanji

• He would be the most affected by your gesture. One minute he’s explaining how he seasons the skillet before beginning to cook, and the next you’re both hurrying to plug his nose up before he bleeds out

• While he’s explaining, there’s such a handsome smile on his face. Hearing him talk about something he’s so passionate about always makes your heart swell for him, so it was hard for you to NOT kiss him, it’s not your fault he wasn’t prepared!!

• He one hundred percent begs for more, going as far to turn his head and tap his cheek, asking for just one more!

• I don’t think Sanji would suprise you with kisses, but I do imagine kisses come with the drinks and food he brings for you.

• I also imagine Sanji times kisses perfectly. So that whenever it happens it feels like it’s out of a movie or a romance novel. He definitely has a knack for making you feel like you’re in the most romantic setting you’ll ever be in <3

Franky

• He’s probably going to react the most wholesome out of everyone, we’ve all seen him during sentimental stories, and he is truly the most precious cyborg!

• Loves it when you find him working, he’ll answer all your questions, none of them rousing suspicion until you ask him to look up

• That’s when you strike! Pecking his forehead while he sits idly, trying to comprehend what happened.

• Giggles non stop when you kiss him, his face will grow red and he’ll lean in, asking for more. He just can’t get enough of your affections!

• He will always return kisses, and as stated, will be an absolute giggling MESS! Only you can bring out such a soft and pure side of him

• The kisses you give him will simply make his day, if he’s ever bummed out or needing a recharge a cola is always nice, but you offer an extra incentive with suuupppeeerrrr kisses!!

I just love the idea of Buggy having more women on his crew than the average pirate captain. We have female captains in the story but other than that it doesn't seem like having women on your crew is the norm in the one piece world (which also makes Luffy's crew a minority, but the strawhats are very unique compared to other crews we see, especially in regards to their size but that's a whole other story).

We (kinda) know that Buggy has a thing for "adopting" weird kids and giving them a home where they can feel normal, like part of a crew, a family. He gives people who don't fit in a place to stay, in exchange for their labour of course. This is especially highlighted by opla where Buggy offers Luffy a place on his crew, not hating him from the start but feeling pity for him.

So would it really be surprising for him to offer women who have been wronged a place as well? Ex-prostitutes, r@pe victims etc. I feel like he'd be really considerate for their struggles.

And it makes everyone in the crew feel safe, men women and everyone in-between, to see that on Buggy's list of crimes crewmates can commit, SA is right on top alongside mutiny.

Maybe that's why Alvida trusted him so easily, because she could see he cared where other men wouldn't. And perhaps, this is one of the things that push Mihawk and Crocodile to start respecting the clown.

something something very funny how when they meet back up in punk hazard, law is continuously baffled by the way luffy instantly seems to trust him and see him as a good person worthy of putting in trust in. and while that just an inherently very luffy trait i’m sitting here like.

law. your first two and so far only in person interactions with this man have been. 1) fighting together on the same side in a friendly show off contest with the marines. 2) you saving his life at great personal risk to yourself and your crew when literally no one else could have. if it were not for you carefully putting his organs back together he literally would have died. my brother in christ you held his literal heart in your literal hands and put it back in his chest and healed him. and didn’t ask for anything in return or every hold it over his head?

i was fully prepared for law to like…bring that up on punk hazard for his standard “give and take, you owe me a favor reasons because showing emotionally vulnerability by asking for help is scary” before growing out of it and learning that he doesn’t need to pull that shit with luffy. but he’s doesn’t????? he never brings it up and brushes it off when luffy tries to thank him???? and then wonders why luffy thinks of him as someone who heals and is kind first and foremost and chooses to care about him on purpose????? smartest fucking idiot on this show i’m so sick of him.

Imagine voicing your disapproval about working with Buggy…

Following Luffy down to his mystery surprise in the kitchen, you had suspected a clue or a trinket of sorts. You didn’t expect for him to pull out the head of pirate captain who greeted the room with a comical laugh.

Zoro sighed under his breath. He didn’t entirely agree with getting help from the clown on the account that he was a known manipulator but Luffy had his heart set on finding Nami. And the way his friend supported his dream to become the greatest swordsman, he’d support Luffy.

You, on the other hand, would have preferred it if Luffy had stashed away a fish man from Arlong’s crew instead of this blue-haired fool and if no one else was going to challenge the option, you would.

“Luffy, I admire you but he’s as useful as cotton candy in water.”

Usopp snickered at the comparison. He couldn’t help imagine what the clown looked like in his circus candy form.

Sanji leaned against the kitchen counter. “I’m with Y/n. You sure about this?”

Luffy’s smile dwindled ever so slightly. “I know that we need to find Nami and that Bonky is the only lead we have.”

“Come on, you know it’s Buggy!”

“Oh, bite me.” You scowled at the body-lacking pirate. You picked up a small onion and gently toyed with it, letting it rise into the air before catching it once more.

Sanji pursed his lips and looked from the clown head to your sour expression. “I’m sensing a different kind of hostility here.”

Zoro crossed his arms, glancing over his shoulder to the cook. “He lost a rare Devil Fruit before Y/n had a chance to study it.”

“You document Devil Fruits?” Sanji wondered with fascination now looking at you.

You gave the newest member of the Straw Hat Pirates a small shrug. “I did until he ruined everything.”

Buggy rolled his eyes. “Geez, get over it already - ow!”

If he had been paying closer attention he would have seen the onion hurtle forward before it smacked his nose. Scrunching his face in pain, the lack of a body made it hard to soothe the injury.

“I’m sorry, did that hurt?” You deadpanned.

Luffy held the burning hat in his hands with wide eyes, unsure how he could have been so careless. His beloved hat had somehow caught on fire, and if he didn't do anything soon it would be reduced to a pile of ash. Luffy shook the hat vigorously, not sure what else to do in his state of panic. He didn't register the bouncing steps coming his way until a hand pulled the hat out of his hands and threw it to the sea.

"Hey!"

Buggy ignored the exclamation of disapproval as his detached hand simply brought the hat back, which was now free of flames but soaking wet instead. The part that burnt off wasn't as big as Luffy feared, but it probably would have gotten really bad if Buggy hadn't interfered.

"This hat has been through so damn much. The wind blew it into the campfire while Shanks was goofing around once. You should have seen his face." Buggy chuckled as he assessed the damage to the hat. "If I was any slower this finally might have been the end for this thing, but this is fine. I've fixed it before, I should be able to salvage it this time around too."

Luffy watched the soft expression on Buggy's face with curiosity. Moments of calm like this were rare to see from the genius jester. He wondered what the man was thinking about as he lifted the hat and stared at it as if it was a historical artifact, but didn't think too much about it. Thinking too hard wasn't Luffy's thing. He instead smiled brightly like he usually did, grateful to the clown.

"Thanks, Buggy!"

The images flashing in Buggy's mind as he stared at the hat were of Roger and a younger Shanks. When he came back to reality, he saw Luffy look at him with the exact same smile they used to have when they looked at him.

Legacy, what a joke.

Buggy sighed as he held the hat close to his heart. "Whatever, kid. Let's just get out of here."
