Give me, give me! Ten facts on Ariel? 👀💚
Thank you for the ask @ginevrastilinski-ocs!!! 💙
1. Despite their different personalities, Ariel has a very close bond with her twin sister Rachel.
2. If people were being cruel to Rachel, she would do anything to defend her, even if it means starting a fight.
3. Ariel absolutely HATES it, when people make references to ‘The Little Mermaid’ towards her.
4. Having two gay dads, Ariel has grown up to anything related to LGBTQIA+, she figured out that she was a lesbian, at the young age of eleven.
5. Despite being Jewish, Ariel is fascinated by anything related to Joan of Arc.
6. Ariel sleeps with a plushie of Snorlax from the Pokémon franchise, but no one knows this, apart from Rachel.
7. Ariel first realised that she had feelings for Quinn, when the two of them shared a private moment, in which afterwards, they both denied their feelings for each other. Rachel, Artie and Tina could see that Ariel was in love with Quinn, and secretly tried to set Ariel and Quinn on a date at Breadstix, but Ariel figured out their match-making plans.
8. Whilst she doesn’t plan on becoming famous, if she could play any musical theatre role, she would love to play Magenta in ‘The Rocky Horror Show’. Ariel was so excited when Will announced that the Glee club would be doing ‘The Rocky Horror Show’, and she was slightly jealous when both Quinn and Santana got to play Magenta, but nevertheless, she had absolute fun playing Columbia, alongside Tina and Brittany.
9. Ariel collects anything dinosaur related, from plastic toys to enamel pins to T-shirts with sassy sayings.
10. Ariel prefers DC over Marvel, and has a HUGE fictional crush on Selina Kyle/Cat-Woman.

15, 21, & 32! For the ask the fanfic writer :)
15) How do you write smut sense? Do you get very visual or detailed? How important is it to be realistic?
Oh, I guess I tend to be very visual and detailed, but you know... I haven't written smut since I was a virgin cough cough, um... I don't really know how I'll go about it in future writing, but I guess we'll find out rather soon. 21) Would you ever collaborate with another writer for a story?
That would be fun! I used to write a long-term role-play for an original Pokémon story for years, so I don't think it's off the table. But I'd probably want to ensure I worked well with another writer before attempting collaboration. 32) Name three of your favorite fanfic writers.
This is hard, because I honestly haven't read many fics since I started writing.
FrogsRcool is my favorite - I read If Only You Could See What I See before I even made a Tumblr account, and only made this account so I could send her some rough fanart I drew for the fic. I really enjoyed the for having such a unique voice for Brittany. They were big inspiration for me in my own writing as I shifted from fanart to pursue some writing. Gosh, I really can't answer this well. I have a list of favorites on my FFN page, but I can't remember these stories well enough. I remember more being excited for when I finish my fic to get through my long list of fics I wanted to read. I think I was most looking forward to The Knife Thrower's Daughter and I Need A Medic. I read one recently by summerkid and I enjoyed how simple the writing was, yet compelling. I plan to loop back and read some of their longer fics in the future.

What was the single best thing that happened this past year? Had my work validated more than I honestly thought would happen.
What was the single most challenging thing that happened? Not really a single thing, but trying to navigate The Rona™ between variants and boosters that we couldn’t get.
What was an unexpected joy this past year? Tiny humans: getting to play Pokémon with the Card Goblin, teaching her brother to fist bump, and seeing my niece start to walk and babble.
What was an unexpected obstacle? Seeing, for all the progress I’ve made in dealing with my particular mental illness, that I still have progress to make.
Pick three words to describe 2022. “Someday” is today.
Pick three words your spouse would use to describe your 2022 (don’t ask them; guess based on how you think your spouse sees you). Even more awesome.
Pick three words your spouse would use to describe their 2022 (again, without asking). Taking next steps.
What were the best books you read this year? facepalm
With whom were your most valuable relationships? Old and new coworkers, friends that knew how to navigate careers, and my wonderfully supportive wife.
What was your biggest personal change from January to December of this past year? I started the year wanting to be a senior-level developer. I ended March taking a new senior-level job that literally doubled my salary. I’m still kind of in shock.
In what way(s) did you grow emotionally? I’m getting a bit better at recognizing when I’m hitting a bad train of thought. A bit.
In what way(s) did you grow spiritually? Somewhere in between Canaan and Egypt, but I think I’m getting a better handle on what I believe. Still trying to separate the God I know from the God I was told about.
In what way(s) did you grow physically? I went to physical therapy! After I tweaked my back again this summer, I finally did something about it. It’s helped a ton.
In what way(s) did you grow in your relationships with others? I feel like I’ve grown to trust others more, both as friends and as coworkers.
What was the most enjoyable part of your work (both professionally and at home)? I made a conscious effort towards Smolblog this year, including commissioning a logo! (It helped that one of the people I look up to in the industry showed some personal interest 😬)
What was the most challenging part of your work (both professionally and at home)? Said lucrative job required switching to an entirely different tech stack and development architecture.
What was your single biggest time waster in your life this past year? …probably Smolblog. I might have changed architectures multiple times…
What was the best way you used your time this past year? Time in therapy, time with Brittany
What was biggest thing you learned this past year? I always knew I was capable, but I feel like I really learned to execute sustainably this year.
Create a phrase or statement that describes 2022 for you. Ride the wave while it’s going!

I’ve submitted here before and thought I would try my luck out again and see how it goes.
My name is Brittany but you can call me Britt for short, I am 30 years old. I am a lead teacher in my one of my towns daycares. I am hoping that 2022 will be the year I finally find someone. I’ll be brief. I’m seeking for a long term relationship, someone who is serious. I’m open to try a long distance relationship as long as we can meet in the future. I love to play all kinds of video games like Pokémon, Animal Crossing and mostly Splatoon 2. I also love to lay around after work and watch any kind of horror movie I can (not into any romance movies) I also like to go drive around and play Pokémon Go (I know she is such a loser) If any of this sounds like a reason to talk to me then don’t be shy even though I might be shy to message you back.

4Kids Korner - Season 2 - Episode 3
I'm a bit late this week because I got caught up with work and school-related dread, but now I'm back to bring you more 4Kids products! This week we have an epic trifepic: Winx Club Magazine Issue one - the castle, Kirby Right Back at Ya - Ice Kirby (DVDouble-Shot) and Kirby Right Back at Ya - Kirby Comes to Cappy Town!
Let's start by getting the smallest one out of the way. Here's Kirby Right Back at Ya - Ice Kirby (2005)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's something I oddly like about DVDouble-Shot. Starting In 2005, the DVDouble-Shot line was introduced featuring two-Episode DVDs of 4Kids most profitable shows as a way of promoting 4Kids TV. As for the consumer, the main selling point is that you could buy them for a low price, collect and possibly trade them with your friends, kind of like Pokémon cards. I like the idea of one kid saying to the other on the playground, "hey, wanna trade your Ninja Turtles for my YuGiOh?" How successful they were, I have no idea, but they're fun and easy to review on this show. Given their small portion size, practically every DVDouble-Shot is the same. This one had the episodes "The Chill Factor" and "DeDeDe's Snow Job," in accordance with the ice theme of the disc. It also features assorted promos for then-current and upcoming 4Kids shows identical to those seen in the 4Kids TV September demo disc (which I will hopefully review some time in the future.) Before we move on, though there's one little thing I want to point out about the box art. You can't see it in the photos I've provided, but the ice monster on the cover is far more pixelated than Kirby, if you look closely at it, so it appears to me that they lifted it right out of the episode and placed it on the cover. I guess that's just what happens when no official art of a character exists for your graphic designers to use...
Now that we have that one out of the way, let's talk about the stars of today's episode, which actually turned out to have much more historical value than most of the other stuff in my collection. So say hello to the Winx Club Magazine Premiere Issue, The Castle (2005)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a very special addition to my collection not only because it's part of what I consider to be 4Kids' absolute peak year, but since the book was presumably printed in January of 2005, it means this was one of the first pieces of of merchandise to feature the now-famous 4Kids TV logo. Heck it might have even been printed before then. As for the book itself, it's quite cute as it features everything an 8-11 year old girl wanting to be a hip and trendy 2000s teenager could want, and contains surprisingly few ads for Winx Club merch. And even more adorable, is the publisher's attempts to fit that description using words like "slammin'" in sentences. I call it a magazine, but it's really more dedicated to the comic included, "The Castle," which I would have read, but I needed to get some sleep the day I read it, so I skimmed the book's numerous activities, instead. But for those still interested, the comic is a retelling of Bloom's enrollment in Alfea, with original art that's pretty accurate to the actual show. But the book's real allure is the activities. Like the free trading card you'll see in the photo above. It even comes with a full-page description of what a trading card game is, making reference to YuGiOh in the process, which I thought was funny since 4Kids owned that, and also because it heavily implies that only boys play YuGiOh when the show itself has many female duelists. After that, you have a faux interview with Bloom taken from the perspective of a fellow Alfea Student. What I remember most clearly about that, is that Bloom says she listens to top 40's, which made me think "man, she's got some trash music taste," even though I, myself have said on multiple occasions off of tumblr that I listen to basically everything. Also included on the magazine are a paper fortune-telling toy, a best friend diary which includes a "secret crush" slot to fill in, a page for writing down predictions about the reader's future, and even a personality test which assigns your traits to a type of flower, as suggested by Flora on the page. The funny thing about this is that one question asks for the reader's favorite kind of movie, and one of the options is "anime everything," which I thought was funny since anime was just starting to get big at that time in America, and the online anime community was just starting to grow. Finally, on the last page, probably the most creative of all, is a step-by-step slumber party plan by Musa, which details inviting everyone over, having them show up dressed as their favorite popstar (like Brittany Spears, for example) and bring their favorite CD from said popstar, then taking turns playing them and talking about them. It sounds quite fun, and it made me smile imagining all the little kids who tried this. That's exactly what I think is awesome about children's entertainment: it makes them happy and builds their imagination. So that's the Winx Club Magazine, a really good buy, but I must admit they used the same art of the girls more than once on a few occasions, and also wrote in a plot hole in the interview with Bloom, where she says she discovered her powers as a child, but in the show she unlocks them at her current age when saving Stella from the first monsters of the series. So it may have a couple flukes, but still quite enjoyable.
And last, but never least, it's time for Kirby Right Back at Ya: Kirby Comes to Dream Land (2002)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This one is also historically significant for two reasons. One is that it was the very first release of one of the more famous non-Pokémon/YuGiOh shows 4Kids had to offer, but it also played a part in promoting the very launch of the Fox Box, as you'll see on the box art. This disc may only have the first three episodes of the show, but it super makes up for it with a plethora of special features, more than any of the DVDs I currently own, and that they strangely enough don't tell you about on the box. And speaking of the box, though you might not see it, the episode descriptions on the back are written entirely in comic sans. Yeah, it's clear to see 4Kids wasn't quite as sharp as they would be in the next few years... and the DVD menus are also written entirely in this font. But that doesn't take away from the outstanding value. much like the Fright to the Finish DVD, this one's special features are split between two menus. For this one, there's "More Kirby" and "Added Attractions," which is the far superior one, but more on that in a minute. The More Kirby menu features a character gallary telling you about the main cast, set to music from the show. Then there's "Kirbyoke," which is there to teach the kids the words to the theme song. And finally, we have a preview for the next DVD in the series, which at that point hadn't a proper name, so Mike Pollock's voice just refers to it as "Kirby Right Back at Ya Volume 2." Then, in the "Added Attractions" menu, we have a promo for Cubix - Robots for Everyone's first DVD release, a short promo for the newly-launched FoxBox.TV website, and the star of this review by far, "What's Inside The Fox Box?!" This incredible 14 minute long promo (which you can find on Youtube, by the way,) previews every single show in the Fox Box's initial lineup as a way of hyping up the network for it's September 2002 launch. Well, kind of... You see, 4Kids made multi-minute promos for their own productions, complete with plot synopses by Mike Pollock and others and theme songs for the shows. Meanwhile, Stargate Infinity, a third-party show, only got a promo featuring still images of the main cast, a paper-thin explanation of the plot and no opening, all clocking in at under a minute. So, yeah, pretty lame move on 4Kids part, but at least we get to see HD footage of 4Kids lost Ultraman Tiga dub. Ultimately, it's a really fun promo from 4Kids' very beginnings as a dedicated children's entertainment company, even though it uses some uncut clips of guns in Fighting Foodons since the dub wasn't finished at that point. One last thing to point out: the promo for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (which hadn't even started production at the time,) features an unused theme song demo for the series which also made it's way onto the illusive Fox Box CD. So there you have it, one of the DVDs that started it all. Thanks for reading about it, as well as my other items this week. I will be back with more next week, so hang in there, and I'll see you all next time. Take care!

Can you give us headcanons about your trainer and your team? You both look so cute!!
Aww thank you for asking about me my character and my her team! 💕
♡ Britt
Tumblr media
• Although her full name is Brittany, she always introduces herself as 'Britt'. The reason being that she's from an English family, but lived in the French-speaking region of Kalos before moving to Galar. Kalosians could never properly pronounce her name, and she absolutely hated the French pronunciation of her name. And so, she opted to be called by her nickname instead. It stuck, even after she moved to Galar.
• 20-years-old, born on July 26th.
• Bisexual, baby!!
• If her colour scheme isn't enough of an indication, she adores Poison-type pokémon the most. She thinks that they are underrated. Dragon, steel and Fairy-types are her other favourites.
• Her colour scheme and fashion choices would have you assume that she's edgy or emo, but that couldn't be further from the truth!
• She's an absolute goofball, all smiles and jokes. She's a fan of sarcasm and playful banter, but she doesn't overstep any boundaries to hurt someone's feelings.
• Speaking of jokes... innuendoes. All of them. She's far from being innocent. If you're innocent or easily embarrassed, you will not last five minutes in her presence.
• Her patience levels are bellow zero. Probably around negative fifty. If she wants to do something, she'll want to do it now, and there's little to nothing that you can do to stop her.
• She's a short sh*t. Like, 5'2 kind of short. Yet, she'll still try to convince a 6'5 guy that she can pummel him to the ground.
• Her cheeks are pretty chubby. Like, really squishy. People kind of want to pinch them.
• Speaking of being short, she hates having people help her reach things. She'll do it on her own, thank you very much. Even if she is clearly struggling and clearly needs help. It's short people pride.
• She's got messy black hair with faint purple highlights. The black isn't natural, her natural hair colour is actually a very pale brown with red and blonde highlights. The black hair suits her so well that people don't believe that it's not her natural hair colour.
• Like mentioned, her hair is beyond messy. She has to straighten it a little or else she looks like she hasn't brushed her hair in a decade.
• She looks permanently tired and has dark bags under her eyes. She still keeps a cheery attitude though!
• She has a scar going across her left eye due to her idiotic and clumsy ass falling off a computer chair as a child. She basically smashed her face on the corner of a desk while trying to stand on a computer chair to reach something. Short people pride was always a thing with her, even as a child.
• Doesn't. Do. Mornings.
• Please do not talk to her until she has downed five cups of tea and has been out of bed for at least two hours.
• She claims that she never cries, but she will absolutely bawl her eyes at the sight of an injured pokémon, or if someone is feeling down. She's a big softie.
• She can be pretty airheaded at times and may easily forget things. She's also a huge klutz and will absolutely trip over oxygen molecules and run into doors even if she is looking where she is going.
• Totally has a crush on the bastard fairy man that is Bede.
• Pink arrogant asshole + dark hyperactive goofball = ?
• You'd think she'd try to go for someone like Leon or Raihan.
• But nah.
• Shiny hunter for life.
• Spends more time camping with her pokémon than actually battling. She's strong af though and will 100% yeet you.
• She doesn't really have any real interest in becoming the champion. Instead, she runs a sanctuary for rescued/abandoned/abused/injured pokémon.
• She also loves to breed and is pretty well versed in how to breed good quality competitive pokémon, though she has no interest in really competing in any form of big world competition.
• She's shaped like a friend and will 100% support you and give you advice on anything. She's there to listen, not judge.
♡ Len
Tumblr media
• Britt's starter pokémon in the Galar region!
• Len is a cocky boy and is pretty smug. He walks around like he owns the place, but he'll usually be put in his place by other pokémon.
• Although he's cocky, he always has a smile on his face. He's a very jolly pokémon, overall.
• He's often seen hanging with Dollop, Britt's Alcremie. He always wants to play or talk with her. Do you have a crush there, buddy?
• He's often seen competing with Deception, Britt's Roserade. Len often initiates races with Deception and they often get into quarrels.
• Despite their rivalry, Len will absolutely be the first to protect Deception. Len loves being the hero, after all.
• Some would believe that he loves spicy food, being a Fire-type and all, but Len loves sweet food. He actually despises spicy food.
♡ Deception
Tumblr media
• Deception is definitely a pretty boy.
• He's very friendly to all of the pokémon in the team, but he seems to like riling up Len.
• It's not that he hates Len, Deception just hates how overly cocky Len gets. So, Deception will purposefully sass Len, trying to get him down from his high horse.
• Deception is quite bold himself, he's not afraid to take risks and stand up to danger, which is why he stands up to Len, knowing that he could get devastated by a Pyro Ball.
• Deception is rather confident in his battle abilities and physical appearance, but to him, there is a fine line between confidence and outright arrogance.
♡ Bangiras/Tyranitar
Tumblr media
• Britt got him in a surprise trade when he was just a baby Larvitar, so he is of Japanese origins.
• He is such a baby.
• Tyranitar is such a terror on the battlefield, but he is the biggest teddy bear outside of battle.
• He's very relaxed and he always seems to be at ease with everything and everyone. He naps quite often.
• He will play fight with bigger pokémon, but he is very soft with smaller pokémon. He is an absolute gentle giant.
• He 100% loves having his chin and belly scratched.
♡ Wrath
Tumblr media
• Wrath is somewhat of a loner and would rather stay alone, or surrounded only by those he trusts.
• Outside of battle, he loves to play fetch. It is quite the sight to see this little 5'2 girl playing fetch with a huge sea monster. Wrath especially loves the ball with Leon's face on it.
• It took a while for Britt to get a good handle on Wrath in battle as he is quite hasty. He loves to fight, but he is quick to act recklessly and, at times, without being commanded.
• Wrath was the first pokémon that Britt caught, right outside of Prof. Magnolia's house. He was just a Magikarp back then.
• Wrath is very protective of her and extremely loyal. Should anyone harm Britt, true to his name, the offender will have to face his wrath.
• He's very alert to his surroundings, always making sure that the area is safe for his trainer and fellow teammates.
♡ Sazandora/Hydreigon
Tumblr media
• Much like Tyranitar, Britt got Hydreigon through a surprise trade as a Deino. She's of Japanese origins, just like Tyranitar.
• Hydreigon is arguably the biggest and most threatening powerhouse of Britt's team.
• She is absolutely devastating in battle and has no issues sweeping through tough opponents' entire teams.
• Outside of battle, she's actually rather timid and quite the mother figure to all of the other pokémon.
• When she first came to the team, she had a hard time fitting in as she was too shy and intimidated by all the other pokémon.
• She also felt weak as a Deino and Zweilous compared to her teammates as they were all fully evolved and she was taking forever to do so herself.
• Hydreigon are known for their violent personalities, so people are always shocked to see just how sweet and cuddly she is when she's not decimating opponents.
• She's become the mascot of Britt's team.
• She even has a son. A shiny Deino named Ghidorah and the relationship between the two is absolutely heartwarming. She's always hovering near her son and/or playing with him.
♡ Dollop
Tumblr media
• Dollop is the only other female in Britt's team besides Hydreigon.
• She's treated as the precious little princess of the group, being the smallest of the team.
• Seriously, she's just a cute little pile of mush amongst monsters.
• Don't underestimate her, though. This cute pile of mush can be pretty devastating in battle.
• She's kind of an oddball. She's often lost in thought, staring into space and not really paying attention to her surroundings.
• She's very relaxed and laid back, kind of on the slow side and never one to be hyper.
• The other pokémon on Britt's team all seem to adore her. She doesn't get into fights with anyone.
• She's most likely plotting world domination.
• But she likes hugs.
• And she loves to hang on Britt's shoulder over being in her Poké Ball.

I beat Pokémon Crystal for the first time!
As i played through Pokémon Crystal for the first time, I simultaneously felt regret at not having grown up with the pokémon series and overwhelmed at how different the older games are!
I enjoyed the music and delightful 8-bit pokémon designs. There's something very charming about the overall presentation. Importantly, I was so happy to play as a female character! It was a lot of fun discovering this region for the first time, even though it was difficult at times to change my play style to accommodate this older title.
I have played games with HMs before, but I guess its been a while. And playing this just really feels like constantly having a doduo peck at your head... reminding you incessantly how annoying HMs are. Almost as annoying as HMs are the waaaaayyyy too frequent phone calls! I was happy at first to see a way to rebattle and earn more money and xp, but by Arceus did I not yet realize how often the trainers would call. It's so bad It makes me question if it was ever playtested at all. It's so disruptive!
This is my first game without the fairy type, and without experience share. So that's been a learning curve as well. I feel quite spoiled by the newer games in how much less grinding is required to have a decent team. Of course, I always support the players that want a more challenging experience, but for me... I don't want to go back to the grind fest lol. Admittedly, I had to spend a lot of time readjusting my team as I learned some differences with this older game, and that inflated my playtime. Fortunately, it wasn't that bad. I did a lot of mindless grinding on Victory Road while walking on the treadmill or watching documentaries, so it didn't feel like I was really wasting my time lol.
Given the tech this was originally released on, the chip music is delightful and the Pokémon sprites look great. The encounter music in particular stood out to me and some of the pokemon have such expressive little poses! I swear Graveler never looked cuter. Meganium didn't really serve me particularly well as my partner pokemon, but Sweetpea was cute so oh well lol. I always disliked Jynx, but I got a shiny Smoochum in my odd egg. She ended up being my MVP big time. Thank you, Belinda. I'm sorry I was ever harsh with you! Pupperoni the Arcanine also served me well. And Spicey Gee, my shiny gyarados was welcomed into my party as well. Ms. Pidgey was nice to have in a pinch, and Last Hope the Lanturn was a last minute addition to help with my battle against Lance. I actually took very little damage and never used any potions so I guess I did alright lol.
I have to admit I don't often dabble in pokémon postgames, but I suppose I'm not experiencing the full game if I stop now. So I will fight the urge to move on and see what Kanto has in store for me! Plus, I have to catch the legendaries at the very least.
I do have some complaints with my experience on virtual console. A lot of optional features in Pokémon Crystal were meant for the Gameboy Printer, and while obviously they couldn't support that, they absolutely COULD have tweaked those and other features to work on 3DS, including online trading. None of that matters now though, as Nintendo has shut down support for the 3DS anyway, but STILL. It is a bit of a bummer I can never complete my pokedex if I wanted to.
So with this Johto experience behind me, the only other region I have never visited is Unova! The next pokémon game I play will probably be Black or White!
--------
For clarity, my Kanto experience was Let's Go Eevee and I have never played R/B/Y or FR/LG. I own Red on VC.
My Hoenn experience was Omega Ruby, and I first explored Sinnoh in Shining Pearl.
In the future, I'd love to play SoulSilver and Platinum.

Favorite Christmas presents:
D'Aulaires’ Book of Trolls by Ingri and Edgar Parin D’Aulaire
Prank Killer pins from ClayGrahamArt (Ghostface is slasher bae.)
Heathers DVD
Labyrinth DVD
Weird Michigan by Linda S. Godfrey
Weird N.J. by Mark Sceurman and Mark Moran
Uh, I haven’t posted one of these in a while. Since the beginning of January I’ve been super busy. Next week I have a final.
Listing every movie I saw last year would be too much. But I wanted to list all the 2019 movies I saw from fave to least fave. Not including things I didn’t finish, like The Addams Family. At first I liked it for keeping them unconventional looking, but the plot wasn’t that interesting.
Us: February 2019 was a good month for movies. This wasn’t actually my favorite from last year. But it’s one of the few horror flicks I’ve seen that genuinely unnerved me. JORDAN PEELE MADE HAND HOLDING SCARY. The special features were the best part, though.
Alita: Battle Angel: Is this a female power fantasy? She’s scrawny but still kicks *ss.
Spider-Man: Far from Home: Jake Gyllenhaal is sexy to me now.
Happy Death Day 2U
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark: It probably should have been both animated and an anthology, but still enjoyable.
How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World: Am I still bitter that Dragon Slayers’ Academy never got expanded into a huge franchise? Yes. But Hiccup became a bearded dad.
Midsommar
Velvet Buzzsaw: I was expecting it to be better, but at least Gyllenhaal nakey.
Brittany Runs a Marathon
Pet Sematary: Needed more Victor and I wasn’t a huge fan of the new ending.
Pokémon Detective Pikachu
Kim Possible
THE BOYS
Disclaimer: I have not read the comic. I didn’t write down as many notes as I could have because it was hard to take my eyes off the screen.
The Name of the Game
Robin’s demise was horrific and shocking, but at least the show set its tone in the first episode. Hopefully we learn a lot more about her in season two. Because I kept expecting lots of flashbacks from Hughie. Robin deserves more scenes, darn it.
It’s great this series tackles not just workplace harassment, but assault. More on that under “The Self-Preservation Society.”
Uhhh, Translucent. Fight with Hughie and Billy was awesome. Hughie would probably be a better SO but there’s something about that invisible p3rv… Now Homelander I didn’t find that interesting until the end. Legally he’s a hero. That’s how Homelander presents himself to the world. But he’s basically a bastardized Superman-Captain America hybrid. Which is weirdly hot. Damn it, why is corruption sexy? Why?
Cherry
What if they blinded Translucent? Then they wouldn’t have had to kill him. :( Unless there’s a Supe with healing powers?
Get Some
Poor Starlight. If I was in her place, I would have told them to eff off and started my own super team. Where we all wear sexy but practical armor.
Okay, my notes say “Yandere Homelander?” I think this was the episode where he was spying on Stillwell’s br3ast pump. He is a lactophile.
Are there any normal s3x scenes in this show? Poor Popclaw. Poor Aleksy.
The Female of the Species
Gosh, this show is dark.
Good for the Soul
Popclaw, nooo. D:
Mother’s Milk, I’m Episcopal, too! I should make a list of Episcopal/Anglican characters. My favorite’s probably Geraldine Granger from The Vicar of Dibley. :D Anyway, I’m glad this episode calls out religious hypocrisy without making it seem like all worshippers are reactionaries.
Other things I liked about this episode:
“You played my b/u/t/t like jazz.” Hughie blackmails.
Laser baby.
“You’re my good boy.”
The Innocents
“They’re flexible, they take a pounding…” Puss/y poweh.
The Self-Preservation Society
The Deep getting assaulted is not something I expected at all. Gill pene/tration* would be disturbing even if it was consensual. Hopefully he’ll be able to empathize with Annie and his other victims. But he has to feel genuine remorse first.
*I say this as a fan of mermen. Gills are nice. Gently stroking gills is nice. Anything beyond that is horrifying.
You Found Me
Gosh, Homelander is evil. Get your boots off the couch! “You are dark, and I kind of like it.” I ship him and Billy now.
Next personal post I’ll review more movies or the second reason of Supernatural.

British LegendsxPokémon
Kings/Gym Leaders Part 3
Psychic Type Leader:
King Urien
Tumblr media
It was hard to figure out what type Urien should master. I decided on Psychic because in the first could of gens it was considered one of the strong types, which is why there are so many Psychic legendaries. Anyway, I always thought of Urien as very powerful and strong, so Psychic.
Okay I’m starting to see a pattern, I like puzzle gyms. Buts it’s Arthuriana, where would we be without a haunted castle? Anyway, Morgana renovated the castle and made into a creepy castle with magic and mystery. There’s rumours that maybe a legendary lives in the castle. In the castle things move by itself (it’s just telekinesis) and you have to find your way to the main hall. In the main hall Urien sits in his chair waiting for the battle.
Metagross’ moves are Zen Headbutt, Meteor Mash, Ice Punch and Earthquake.
Meowstic’s moveset is Light Screen, Psychic, Thunder Wave and Shadow Ball
Oranguru’s moves are Protect, Psychic, Foul Play and Shadow Ball
Sigilyph’s moves are Psyshock, Air Slash, Ice Beam and Cosmic Power.
Alolan Raichu’s moves are Nasty Plot, Sweet Kiss, Psychic and Thunderbolt.
Wobbuffet can only learn four moves, it is its gimmick. The moves are Counter, Mirror Coat, Safeguard and Destiny Bond.
Rock Type Leader:
Lady Laudine
Tumblr media
This one may be a little out there. But hear me out.
Basically the way you get to the gym/castle is the same as the original story. But that’s the route not the gym. To get into the gym you need take the water out of the fountain with a ladle and pour it on the rock. This summons a battle between Tornadus and Thundurus. The two legendaries create an epic storm. When they finish, a black knight comes out and you must battle him. After you win the battle, he lets you into the castle and you can battle the gym leader, Laudine. (She’s Rock because rock is strong against Tornadus and Thundurus and she keeps the two from totally destroying the castle, the people and the surrounding town. Sure she could have been an Ice type leader too but Rock was the weakness that came to mind first.)
Tynanitar’s moves are Stone Edge, Crunch, Aerial Ace and Earthquake.
Lycanroc Midnight Form moveset is Stone Edge, Brick Break, Crunch, Sword Dance and Splintered Stormshards.
Magcargo’s moves are Earth Power, Flamethrower, Amnesia and Light Screen.
Rhyperior’s moves are Earthquake, Stealth Rocker, Fire Punch and Stone Edge.
Alolan Golem’s moves are Rock Slide, Thunder Punch, Mega Punch and Earthquake.
Probopass’ moveset is Stone Edge, Magnet Bomb, Thunder Wave, Power Gem.
Ice Type Leader:
Lord Cilydd
Tumblr media
Why ice? For some unknown reason I personally associate Cilydd’s castle with winter. I have absolutely no reason for this? Maybe the reason that the flower did not grow on his dead wife’s grave is that the Ice Pokémon kept stopping it from growing? Yeah let’s go with that.
When it gets cold, you know you are close. You find this castle made of ice. You slip and slide. Then fall into a room of ice mirrors and you see a person reflected. You must find the real person, battle them and move on to the next mirror room. Eventually you find your way into Cilydd’s room.
Glalie’s moves are Ice Fang, Headbutt, Crunch and Protect.
Mamoswine’s moveset is Earthquake, Ice Fang, Stone Edge and Take Down.
Crabominable’s moveset is Ice Hammer, Close Combat, Scald and Brutal Swing.
Vaniluxe’s moves are Ice Beam, Hail, Blizzard and Mirror Shot.
Glaceon’s moves are Ice Beam, Bite, Toxic, Protect.
Walrein’s moveset is Ice Beam, Surf, Crunch and Body Slam.
Bug Type Leader:
King Mark
Tumblr media
Why bug? Mark is either seen as a total asshole or totally pathetic. I prefer the well meaning but “pathetic” King. And we all know that bug is stereotypically the weak type. In this team maybe Scolipede and Mega Pinsir are good competitively (MAYBE).
Mark’s castle is on the hills and cliffs of Tintangel. You walk the castle, some people will battle you and then you met Mark in the great hall. No gimmicks, just a walk. It’s a popular gym, not just because it’s easy but also doesn’t try to kill you.
Pinsir’s moves are X-Scissor, Swords Dance, Superpower and Stone Edge.
Ribombee’s moves are Bug Buzz, Dazzling Gleam, Quiver Dance and Draining Kiss.
Scolipede’s moves are Megahorn, X-Scissor, Poison Jab and Earthquake.
Vikavolt’s moveset is Bug Buzz, Thunderbolt, Dig and Agility.
Kricketune’s moves are X-Scissor, Sing, Night Slash and Leech Life.
Crustle’s moves are X-Scissor, Rock Slide, Stealth Rock and Slash.
Dragon Type Leader:
King Hoel
Tumblr media
Like Urien, Hoel always felt powerful to me. He’s king of all of Brittany. It’s a large piece of land.
Hoel’s castle is in the forest on a cliff looking at the Channel. There are two ways up, a waterfall or flying. When you go through waterfall, you get stuck in caves behind it where you have to fight trainers. Then you have to have to go back up and there’s another cave. In the cave you have to find Garchomp’s treasure and only then you will be shown the way into Hoel’s great hall for a battle.
Garchomp’s moves are Fire Fang, Dragon Claw, Earthquake and Poison Jab.
Dragonite’s moves are Frie Punch, Surf, Outrage and Fly.
Duddigon’s moveset is Dragon Claw, Crunch, Earthquake and Night Slash.
Alolan Exeggutor’s moveset is Stun Spore, Dragon Hammer, Mega Drain, Flamethrower.
Kingdra’s moves are Ice Beam, Dragon Pulse, Hydro Pump and Flash Cannon.
Dragalge’s moves are Dragon Pulse, Sludge Bomb, Scald, Shadow Claw.

Every MCU Recast
Sometimes it seems like the cast of the MCU were born to play their specific roles, but this is not always the case. Here are all of the examples of recasting I could find in the MCU.
War Machine
James “Rhodey” Rhodes is Tony Stark’s best friend, but he is also the source of one of the most famous recasts in the MCU. In the original Iron Man, the movie that started it all, Terrence Howard played War Machine. However, only one movie later, he was replaced Don Cheadle, who continued to play the role until now, even bringing us the iconic “Tony Stank” scene from Captain America: Civil War.
The Hulk
Being one of the most important characters in the MCU, you’d think Hulk wouldn’t be changed at all. However, in his often forgotten solo movie, the green giant was portrayed by the the Duo of Lou Ferrigno and Edward Norton, with Ferrigno playing the Hulk form and Norton playing Bruce Banner. This was all changed when Avengers rolled around and Mark Ruffalo took over the role.
Howard Stark
The father of Iron Man plays an important part in Captain America: The First Avenger and the Agent Carter television series, and yet, he’s been been portrayed by many different actors. In the first Iron Man movie he was played by Gerard Sanders. In Captain America: Civil War, Iron Man 2 and Ant-Man he was played by John Slattery. In Captain America: The First Avenger and Agent Carter he was played by Dominic Cooper. Indeed, Howard Stark is a man of many faces.
Fandral
An often overlooked character, Fandral is a close ally of Thor. In the original Thor, he was played by Josh Dallas, but in th Dark World he was replaced with Zachary Levi. Zachary would continue to play Fandral until (spoiler warning) Hela kills Fandral and the rest of the Warriors three in Thor: Ragnarok.
Thanos
Thanos has become iconic after his appearance in Avengers: Infinity War, but he had a less iconic appearance in an equally iconic movie, Avengers (the first one). In this movie, Thanos appeared in the end credit scene, played by Damion Poitier. However, starting Guardians of the Galaxy, Josh Brolin took up the role, and would eventually deliver one of the best performances in a superhero movie of all time in Infinity War.
Red Skull
While Hugo Weaving as Red Skull wasn’t terrible in Captain America: The First Avenger, he wasn't very interesting. You know what is interesting? Ghostly protectors of bloodthirsty magic space rocks. That’s exactly what Ross Marquand did when he took over the role of Red Skull in Avengers: Infinity War.
Wasp (Janet Van Dyne)
While the original Wasp made only an appearance in flashbacks during Ant-Man, she plays a much more important role in Ant-Man and Wasp. She was originally played by Hayley Lovitt in Ant-Man, but just like a Pokémon, Janet evolved into the extremely talented Michelle Pfeiffer. But let’s not just give up on Hayley. In fact, let’s get her trending. #HayleyLovittDeservesBetter . You may say that Hayley is a younger Wasp, but the Quantum Realm is supposed to slow down aging, so it’s all a lie!
Anton Vanko
This Iron Man 2 character was originally played by Yevgeni Lazarev, but Yevgeni sadly passed away in 2016. In Agent Carter, he was played by Costa Ronin. I don’t have much else to say about this, really. It’s just gonna kinda sad.
Jasper Sitwell
While in the movies, this fairly obscure character has always been played by Maximiliano Hernandez, in Season 5 of Agents of SHIELD, he was played by Adam Faison. However, Jasper appeared in the first season of the show played by Maximilliano. This is kinda confusing, but it probably makes sense in the context of the show. I haven’t got passed Season 1, so I wouldn’t know.
Lightning round:
Wolfgang Von Strucker
Thomas Kretshcmann in Winter Soldier. Joey Defore in Agents of SHIELD.
Tina Minoru
Linda Louise Duan in Doctor Strange. Brittany Ishabashi in Runaways.
Technically Peter Parker
Max Favreau plays Peter Parker in Iron Man 2, but the role wasn’t originally made to be Peter Parker, and was changed later on. Obviously Tom Holland takes on the role in Civil War.
And those are all that I could find. Did I miss some? I sure hope not. I spent a lot of time researching this.
