Okay y e a h it’s 3am, but I just got done watching the most recent Craig of the Creek Episodes and they BROUGHT BACK COUSIN BOBBY AAAAAA.

I feel like they did this for me. I feel like they saw that I loved him and gave him a partner, so they just threw me this bone. /j

And I’m just going to be ridiculously self indulgent and make pretend that NoMaddox if anyone remembers that oc lol was the one wearing the tiger mascot costume. IT’S NOT UNTRUE UNTIL IT’S PROVEN TO BE NOT CANON.

CONTEXT:

Some design of the Craig of the Creek characters as teenagers that I also posted on Reddit awhile ago. I have a whole AU for this too, but I’ll spare you the details unless you guys really ask for it, but all I’ll say is that it actually starts in 2022.

Craig: Yeah, I want to major in civil engineering when I go to college

Bobby: HAH NERD. You’re gonna build bridges and shit?

C: That’s not even-

C: Okay, what are YOU going to major in?

B: Aerospace engineering

C: ...

B: ...

C: AND YOU’RE CALLING ME A NERD?

B: Space is cool, fuck you

I just watched the Cotc movie and I loved it.

(Spoilers ahead.)

The music was great, the animation was super expressive, and the characters were on point. I loved the message about finding a new home and making memories as you move forward. Definitely a good send off for the show, since there's only a handful of episodes left to premiere next year.

The most random bits of creek lore were also shown. Like that Paintball Mike used to play with water balloons before he was old enough for a paintball gun. And that Todd is actually Handlebarb's younger brother and she used to pull him around in a wagon, which was absolutely adorable. We also got to see baby Eliza without her pink hair and honestly, I think she looks better with her natural hair. Baby Bobby was just precious. And Roger didn't always look like...Roger. Which raises so many questions about how he ended up as he is. Kit was just always that sassy and I love her.

The pirate kids were really interesting. I wonder how they're all doing in the current creek. Some of them looked a little older so maybe they left the creek already.

Lastly, I feel slightly called out by those two kids that were definitely playing Pokemon trainers, because that was me. Using bugs and whatever else I could find to play real life Pokemon with.

Bobby: Put spaghetti in it.

Craig: I am no longer taking suggestions.

Something I feel like people don't truly grasp about Xavier is that he's a manipulator. Like, not that they don't know that, but I don't think they understand the effects it holds on people.

Maya does deserve redemption. Hell, she still deserves to be Omar's friend (if he wants to and will let her is another story, and it'd be fine if he didn'twant to.). At the end of the day, she only joined Xavier because he offer what he knew she wanted when she felt most vulnerable (and by this point they'd been friends for quite a while it seems), and she never left his side because his further manipulation of her. Manipulation is HARD to cope with and hard to break away from.

Also, to a lesser extent, he manipulated Bobby. Yes, Bobby's original vote, his first betrayal, was of his own volition, not as a victim. However his "second betrayal" (in quotes because that's what some people call it, and in a way I guess it is, but it doesn't feel like real betrayal to me) was actually because Xavier manipulated him. Xavier straigh up LIED to Bobby. He told Bobby that the number was to protect Craig, and Bobby gave it to him because he thought he was making it up to Craig by doing so. Xavier knew this vulnerability of Bobby's because Bobby told him himself at the trading tree earlier in the episode that he felt bad for betraying Craig. Furthermore, Bobby's change of heart from that moment onward, even if he does mess up, is evident immediately.

Tl;Dr

I've decided that Bobby is getting a redemption arc of sorts in All the King's Men, and Xavier's manipulation and its effects is going to be a main point of the story because I feel like we don't focus on it enough or outright misunderstand it in the fandom.
