i dont blame other drivers for being mad at robin frijns simply for being robin frijns. he uses no references for breaking. he doesnt work out ever. he never gets sweaty after being in a race. he can do whatever endurance racing shift you give him. he can powernap in a car and wake up to do multiple overtakes for first in the space of 5 mins. he doesn't do track walks even if hes never raced on the track. his responses to most peoples suggestions on his past difficult races/faster teammates are ones of genuine confusion that anyone else thought that looked/felt that was challenging. he cant name a teammate he hasn't outpaced/beaten.
being in a series with him is like doing massive amounts of studying for a huge important test and getting a bad score and looking over at the guy who sleeps in class every day and eats food in the library during breaks and finding he's got a perfect grade. except this is your professional career you've been at since you were a teenager. hes genuinely just that naturally talented.

"Do you know what I find unfortunate? That they are now cheering for third place, like at Spa. That’s not the way Ferrari is, and the Old Man would never have accepted that. Never.
[Enzo] Ferrari taught me a lot. As an example, he taught me never to settle. After a win, he was always thinking about the next race.
Charles I would definitely want to keep [beyond 2024]. He is good, and I don't think there are drivers available who are stronger than him.
But the drivers of the red car are the least of the problem at the moment. As president, I had built a Dream Team from [Michael] Schumacher to [Jean] Todt, from [Ross] Brawn to [Rory] Byrne.
Look, as a fan, I dream of a Ferrari that doesn't always win, but that always fights for the title right up to the last race of the season. You can lose – but as protagonists, not as extras."
Former Ferrari Chairman Luca di Montezemolo

the surfer dudes are such a great team. there wasn’t a moment with those two where i wasn’t smiling. they are the sweetest, most wholesome duo in all of total drama history.
i can’t wait to write friendships just like theirs.

Do you think buggy goes through his bad timeline? Do you think he enjoys his life?
generally? i mean, yeah, i think buggy has enough perspective to know he’s not living his worst life. that would be, like, dead at fifteen, up on that platform next to roger. or, if you require he still be alive at present day for it to count, he could always be stuck in impel down, or worse, a laughingstock in east blue while his childhood frenemy and a teenager he failed to beat up are literally emperors.
but he’s also enough of a dreamer to think this isn’t his best life. that would be one where he’s found the one piece, shanks and luffy have bowed to his greatness, marines quiver in his presence, people like crocodile beg to lick his boots, etc. etc. and maybe roger turns out to have been alive the whole time and he apologizes for leaving buggy all alone in the world
but, you know, on the infinite scale of possible timelines, i think he’s aware he’s in one of the better ones. he’s got tons of followers, the marines consider him a serious threat, by some standard he’s managed to make himself shanks’ equal after all these years! sure, his life isn’t perfect, but it’s pretty good. and who knows? maybe he’ll find the one piece and it’ll get even better!

Just from a design standpoint, it's very disappointing that all the folks with bright, light color schemes (Yang, Weiss, Sun, etc) are also light skinned when it would be best to make them dark skinned - Sun and Yang especially given how little representation dark skinned Asians have
By doing this, Yang would finally be free of those awful brown slops of outfits while Sun and Weiss would stop disappearing into their white clothes because ☆~contrast~☆ would finally exist

secondhand bookshops rule so hard esp my fav one in town. there are such specific sections for everything. in the scifi shelves theyve organized things by space sci-fi, sea sci-fi, dystopia etc. there's a paranormal romance section in the romance section. they have 3 shelves longer than i am tall dedicated to the star trek novelizations organized by series and 3 under that dedicated to dragonlance books. i went to look at their craft section and they had subsections for eras and styles of embroidery. i can look for motorsport books by series or manufacturer without coming across top gear books or car manuals, which have their own sections. i can find poetry by nz poets in their own bookcase and books by māori authors all over the shop because they've been marked by a specific tag on the binding.
