Message from Tsutomu Nihei, author of BLAME!, NOiSE, Biomega, Abara, Digimortal,...
The industry, rather I should say, the fanbase killed the author.

I've been thinking 'Imagine if someone tried to make a fragrance based on mangas?' and reached the point where I went 'What if someone tried to make a fragrance based on Tsutomu Nihei's BLAME?'
Welp, I went on Fragrantica and started trying to piece notes together. Obviously metal should be a big one, because of the futuristic setting and the overwhelming size of the Megastructure. I also liked the idea of the perfume having an aquatic/water/rain motif, because of the fact that Killy finds a rain-drenched level in the last chapter of the manga.
It's not perfect, but I think I found one that kind of clicks with the atmosphere of the manga: Empty Wishes Well by Toskovat'
Toskovat' also apparently bases their fragrances on stories and narratives, and the snipped they had on the site also clicked with the themes and general vibe of BLAME!
"I know the rain will come and more shall live again"
