I come back with yet another LISA crossover post, this time it's Awful Hospital. I just cannot stop making sprites for some reason, which is good I think? Maybe? Probably. The sprites are 5x the original size as usual.

i keep wanting to draw anthro maggots but they end up looking like beetle larvae instead- any ideas on how one might stylize a maggot person to make it a little more distinctly A Maggot? it's especially hard to me bc maggots are like THE MOST featureless insect larvae.... which i suppose counts as a defining feature in and of itself- but i dunno. im mostly just curious to hear your approach!!!
Yeah beetle grubs, caterpillars and a lot of other insect larvae have armored heads with complete jaws structures as well as six little legs, plus they often have a defined looking "top" and "bottom" with ridged and wrinkles almost like they got soft armored down their back
Tumblr media
But maggots are weird! They streamlined EVERYTHING down to where they have no legs at all, not even vestigial ones, and their body segments almost evolved towards something like radial symmetry by being the same all the way around!
Tumblr media
Then there's the fact that they sort of lost most of a "head." Not only is there no exoskeletal cranial case (bug skull) to protect it but there are no jaws and never any eyes; there's just a little hole for drinking liquefied food, a pair of tusk-like hooks for gripping surfaces, and a pair of eye-like knobs that are actually chemosensory (noses)
Tumblr media
The weird, tiny walrus-face is totally unique! They don't have any chewing mouthparts because they only need to "drink" the particles of rotting matter they live on, and like adult flies, they help this along by secreting digestive enzymes!
Tumblr media
Maggots also have these very distinct, furry looking bands at every segment, which help them grip surfaces like a tire tread or the sole of a shoe. If you compare this photo with the one above you'll also notice how the segments can retract in and out like a telescope!
Tumblr media
The last special thing about common maggot anatomy is that they are technically semi-aquatic animals, because maggots evolved to be buried head-first completely in their own food as much as possible and rotten corpses are WET. In order to breathe, maggots have a pair of breathing spiracles on their rear ends, which they try to keep exposed to the air!
There are exceptions to all of this, though; there are species that can be fully aquatic, fully terrestrial, herbivorous, parasitic or predatory, and some ancient fly groups (including mosquitoes!) whose larvae still have fully armored heads and even eyes. Everything above is universal to the maggots you find in rotten stuff though, so what most people think of when they hear the term :) When I designed a hybrid human and blowfly maggot for the Mortasheen setting I deliberately made it look like a doofy cartoon Walrus, and I gave its segments large spines that can be seen in some parasitic maggots, including botflies:
Tumblr media
And when I made a maggot character for my webcomic Awful Hospital I designed her like a little spacesuit or a parka (the resemblance to Kenny was an accident)
Tumblr media
Actually I don't think I ever shared this most recent "main artwork" of Maggie. I don't know what idea inspiration any of this might provide but basically a maggot is a prickly living sock with fangs. Or I guess from a design and engineering perspective, a maggot is a biological drill. The tiny end starts a hole, the rest of the body is just a flaring cone perfectly equipped to keep making the hole deeper.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Time had a cruel sense of humor, and it didn’t differ on any day like today, the skies trickling with rain, warning London of an impending storm. Yet, it didn’t tear you from your conquest in searching for a job.
You were sure to have found one by now, yet with the current economy, you weren’t sure how you were going to make it with the diner job you had, letting your other skills and talents be pushed aside. You couldn’t afford to do so much longer, for you ached to be out of your apartment finding purpose other than in the books you plowed through.
You adored your quiet life, but something inside you wanted more and knew you could strive for it.
That is how you found yourself with a stack of resumes in hand, sliding them into the mailboxes of local businesses, praying for a miracle you would get a response. Soon enough you dip into the coffee shop across the way from the last stop you made at a quaint bookstore that was oddly still in business.
You hadn’t mustered up the courage to peruse through the piles of books even though Maggie at the record shop insisted that her landlord and the owner of the bookshop, Mr. Fell, was sweet and meant no harm. Either way, you’d been too busy at the diner until now to consider applying for a job there. You hoped something would come around, but only a miracle could make it happen.
******
Meanwhile, Aziraphale began his morning as usual with some hot chocolate and making a record of miracles in the like when Crowley stomped in, huffing while clenching a wrinkled piece of paper.
“Awe come on, angel. Why are you doing this?” Crowley groaned.
Aziraphale swiped the wrinkled paper from Crowley’s grasp. “It’s only hospitable to offer the poor dear a job. I mean, look at their credentials!” he exclaimed as he excitedly flipped through another page as if he were reading a great myth instead of a resume.
“What’s the point? You practically have me to do all the work here for you,” Crowley mumbled, downing the rest of his wine. He stretched out on the couch again, his long lean legs draped over the arm, adding an extra bit of drama to any bit of furniture. The demon could not sit on anything properly to save his life.
Aziraphale sighed and bit his lip, eyes twinkling with mischief. “If you consider your work laying around here drinking, yes you do a fine job at that.” Crowley lifted his head, mock rage plastered over his face. “Better watch that tongue of yours angel, You know I love it so.”
“Well, then better make yourself useful and dust the books and tidy up your plants. We should expect a visitor within the hour.” Azi smiled warmly at his partner, giddiness filling his chest when Crowley pecked him on the cheek.
“I’ll get right on it, angel.”
******
You huffed, drowning down your third, or was it fifth? cup of coffee. You weren’t sure why you felt this way, the stress in your shoulders building the more you typed, your brain filling with words faster than you could write or type them down.  You’d been at Nina’s shop for an hour, most of it spent scrolling through job listings, though your search also included browsing some bookstores and a new computer you have been eyeballing for months.
Alas not much had come from your ventures, but you have to admit it was a good day to get out of the flat and enjoy the fresh air and the coziness of somewhere else other than your pit of despair. You could only stay inside with yourself and your mind for so long.
Regardless, you enjoyed the quiet chatter, the drip of the machine keeping in time with your typing, and then a ping sounds from your phone. Your heart races, could this be it?
“Hello?” A soft angelic voice inquires from the other end. “I was calling about your interest in a job. You see I’m Aziraphale, Mr. Fell as most call me, I own the bookshop across from Nina’s coffee shop. The…Give Me Coffee or Give Me Death that one, it’s hard to miss.  Would you be interested?”
Would I be interested? Hell yes, you would after months of finding nothing that’d pay anything for manual labor you wouldn’t imagine anything better than sorting books all day.
“Mr. Fell, that would be lovely. When do you want me to start?” You thrum your fingers on the table, not believing your luck.
“Are you available now? I have cocoa biscuits and tea!”
“I don’t think I’m in any position to refuse your offer, Mr. Fell.”
“Lovely, it’s settled then. I’ll see you within the hour, yes?” His voice is warm, reminding you of an old friend and holding hands with a friend by the lake. It made you happier than you’d been in a while and when you set your phone back on the table, glancing at the bright light streaming in through the window despite the darkening clouds of the horizon, you know you won’t refuse this job; it’s almost too good to be true.
******
“Oh boy, that doesn’t look good,” Crowley mutters, shoving piles of books into the shelves, trying to make the shop more presentable, as Azira put it. The sky outside darkened an alarming shade of gray and Crowley could practically hear the impending storm cackling in warning.
Aziraphale sighs, taking off his spectacles and rubbing his eyes. “Well, if worse comes to worst, we can stay in for the night and forgo the Ritz.”
“You? Forgo the meal at the Ritz? The world must truly be ending!” Crowley exclaims, throwing himself back on the couch right as the first clap of thunder came down, the notable pitter-patter of rainfall following in its wake.
Not a moment later, the doorbell rings, and there you are, a jacket plastered along your form, hair damp and you sneeze. “Hi, I’m here to see Mr. Fell.”
******
“Gracious come in come in, Oh do sit down, let me take that for you!” The smaller man, Aziraphale you note, bustles around, offering you an armchair, which you sit in, groaning at the warmth. The deluge came out of nowhere, soaking you to the bone during the albeit dort walk along the street, but you ended up getting distracted at Maggie’s record shop, losing track of time as fate would have it you ended up an utter wreck at the job you’d accepted a meer hour before.
“I’m so sorry for the state of my appearance, I should’ve brought an umbrella.”
“The weather is quite unpredictable is it not?” Another person appears from the shadows, encased in black, hair a lovely shade of red that makes you wish you could pull it off as well as them. They reach out their hand to you and you lean forward accepting it.
“Crowley, a pleasure to meet you. I see Aziraphale ran off before introductions.” He motions for you to stand and you do so, while he drapes his black jacket over you. It’s pleasantly warm, and you’re equally impressed with the black turtleneck and vest combination he’s currently sporting.
You smile at the gesture. “I’m sure it’s for the tea. There was mention of it on the phone call.”
“Oh, right, the infamous phone call. It practically made his day, though I insisted that he didn’t need to hire anyone, no don’t take it as a bad thing, necessarily. Nina and Maggie vouched for your character too so now you’re practically part of the block gang.”
“Crowley, are you interrogating our guest?”
You pull the borrowed jacket closer around you trying not to shiver in a combination of nerves and excitement. The easy banter between the two of them makes you feel at ease and it comforts you how relaxed they are in each other's presence. If all your days could be spent with a gentle, quiet and constant companion by your side, then you couldn’t possibly want for more.
“I am sorry for inconveniencing you.” you blurt out, Mr. Fell’s gaze meeting yours in quiet understanding.
“It’s no trouble at all, we’ve not much going on, isn’t that right, Crowley.”
“Right, whatever he said, that’s right.” the tall lanky figure grumbles, discarding a pile of books on the floor, making you wince at the thump they leave behind.
That must’ve hurt, you grumble.
“They’ll be alright” Crowley grumbles.
Whoops, you had spoken that out loud. You clench your jaw, trying in vain to relax, the nerves flowing through you, making your stomach tie itself in knots despite your mind’s protests.
“Crowley, I would appreciate it if you didn’t throw my books in that manner,” Mr Fell’s brow quirks, eyes lighting in quiet mirth as he leans over to whisper, “He does that when he’s grouchy.”
“I assume it happens frequently, then.”
“Usually when I irk him or someone else, which is at least three times a week or more.”
Crowley scowls, “It’s not that frequent!”
You smile at the easy banter between them, the way they brought you into this small sphere of their  world and it makes you feel less alone than you have had in months. You enjoyed this, the glances they tossed back and forth with the ease of old lovers, twin soulmates of the universe ancient in their own right.
“Well then, I think it’s settled,” Aziraphale faces you, hands clasped, a smile gracing his lips. You burrow further into the jacket Crowley lent you from the deluge, nervous for the outcome. In the next moment, Aziraphale hands you cocoa, finalizing the matter, “I think we’ll get along just fine, my dear.”
******
Countless hours later you’re sandwiched between them on a plush couch, Aziraphale (he insisted you didn’t have to call him Mr. Fell) with a book on his lap and Crowley with a drink in his hand. You’re halfway listening to the story Aziraphale tells, still delirious and in disbelief that you scored a job and somehow gained two companions you’ve felt you have known ages. The hours passed by quicker than you imagined and you didn’t want to leave.
Months without a job and companionship have you linger in the doorway and you smile at them fondly, hating to leave but you walk back into the rain in your borrowed coat that fits your form.
You hadn’t remembered it fitting so well before, the universe worked in mysterious ways. But, you found a thread of hope, warmth, love and acceptance and you sure as hell aren’t letting go of it for anything.
Joy fills your heart as you walk out the bookshop door Crowley holds for you and Aziraphale presses a kiss to your hand, wishing you well. You don’t think you’ve been more excited for a job-or anything than you have now. No more moments you would take for granted now that you had them, a life complete and full of laughter and love.
******
Time was cruel and a fickle thing. Two figures stand on a hill under a tree, leaning into each other, what others wouldn’t see is the phantom hand resting between their palms, one of a lover past, a companion dear to them slipping into another world.
Time could be cruel, but it had given an angel and a demon a mortal companion to care for alongside each other and blessing or cursing time, one thing is for certain, they were grateful for all the moments, no matter how limited, that they got to spend with you. And they had a silly little resume and a fateful deluge of rain to thank for it.
The taller one carefully drapes a long coat around the headstone, the shorter one following suit with a bouquet of flowers. In their arms they find solace, the ghost of you a mere fragment of their millennia of existence but they would live it over and again if only to be with you.

A Perfect Blend of Me and You
A little Dad!Jack fluff to start the weekend! I’m obsessed with writing about him right now 🥰
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Brooklyn had been in the world no more than 24 hours and Jack was head over heels in love. In his biased opinion, she was the most beautiful thing he had ever laid his eyes on, mostly because he thought she looked just like you. She had a head full of silky hair, a tiny, perfect nose, and big brown eyes that were seeing the world for the first time; all things he found so beautiful in you. He was in awe that something so gorgeous and tiny could be the result of the greatest love of his life.
“Hey, you.” You opened your eyes, giving Jack a small smile when you saw him standing by the window with Brooklyn in his arms. “Everything okay?” You rubbed your eyes, shifting to your side in your hospital bed.
“Everything’s fine. How do you feel?” You sat up as Jack walked up to you, handing you Brooklyn so you could nurse. “I feel good. Thank you for letting me sleep for a few hours.” Jack placed a kiss on your forehead. “Come sit next to me.” You made room for Jack to sit next to you on the bed, his arm naturally draping around your shoulders.
“You were amazing. I honestly don’t know how you did it.”
You chuckled, brushing your finger across Brooklyn’s nose. “I don’t either. I’m glad you were by my side. I don’t think I could have done it without you.” Jack grabbed your hand, kissing your knuckles. “I’m so proud of you.”
Brooklyn stirred, pulling away, her eyes immediately fluttering closed. You handed her back to Jack, leaning against his shoulder, your eyes heavy from exhaustion. He propped her up in his arms so both of you had a perfect view of her.
“She’s beautiful, just like her mama. She looks just like you.” Jack gave you a gentle smile, making you blush.
“You think so? I think she looks a lot like you.”
“No way. She’s got your hair, your big brown eyes, your perfect lips.”
“But I think she’s going to have your beautiful curly hair, and your cute nose.”
“You think so?” Jack’s heart swelled at the thought that his daughter was going to have some of his features. “Yes, and I hope that she has some of your personality as well. Your kindness, your big heart, your sense of humor.”
You heard a soft knock at the door, Clay peeking his head through the doorway. “Can we come in?”
“Of course.” Maggie and Brian followed Clay into the room, all three cooing over Brooklyn as they sat down. “She’s so beautiful, Y/N.” Maggie sniffled, her tears starting the minute she got the text that Brooklyn had arrived. “How are you feeling?”
“Really good, thank you for asking.” You noticed Clay inching closer and closer to Brooklyn, his hands behind his back. “Do you want to hold her, Clay?”
“Oh, no. She seems too fragile.” Clay whispered, backing away.
“I trust you. I would love for her to connect with you right away.”
“Sit over there, and I’ll hand her to you”, Jack directed his little brother. Maggie gave Clay a baby blanket to drape over his shoulder, and Jack gently placed her in his arms. “She’s so cute. Are you sure this is my brother’s child?” Clay joked, knowing Jack couldn’t retaliate in the moment.
“You’re lucky you’re holding my daughter, or I’d punch you.”
“I was just telling Jack I think she looks a lot like him. They have the same nose.”
“And the hair!”, Maggie exclaimed, “Jack had so much hair when he was born.” You grabbed Jack’s arm, squeezing it affectionately. “See, baby? I was bald as a baby, so she definitely gets the hair from you.”
Jack’s family spent a couple of hours with you, each one getting a chance to hold the first grandchild before they left for the evening. You were finally getting into a routine with Brooklyn, feeding her every two to three hours, and trying to get as much sleep as possible in between before you headed home tomorrow. You were tossing and turning in your sleep, not really able to get comfortable when you heard quiet sobbing coming from the corner where Jack was sitting. You looked around in a quick panic, thinking that something was wrong, relaxing when you saw Brooklyn sound asleep in her bassinet.
“Jack, are you okay?” Your voice was hoarse. “I’m sorry, baby, go back to sleep. I’m fine.” You could barely make out his face in the dark. “C'mere, baby.”
He slowly made his way over to you, sitting at the edge of the bed by your feet. His lashes were brimming with tears, the tip of his nose red. “Why are you crying?”
“I don’t know.” He rubbed his hands over his face, leaning his elbows on his thighs. “I’m scared that I’m going to do something wrong. I didn’t want to say anything because I didn’t want to worry you.” You pulled him over to you, hugging his waist as he leaned against you. “Baby, you can’t keep these things from me. I need to know when you feel like this so I can help you.”
“I’m supposed to protect my girls. I can’t do that if you doubt my ability to be a dad.”
“Hey. Look at me.” You lifted his head by the chin, grazing your thumb against his beard to soothe him. “I have never doubted that you would be an amazing dad. I’m scared too. I’ve never been a mom before, and I worry that I’m going to mess up all the time. The only reason I feel a little bit sure of myself is because I have you next to me. We lean on each other, and we’ll learn together.”
You pulled him in for a gentle kiss, Jack leaning his forehead against yours. “I love you so much, Y/N.” Both of you turned to Brooklyn when you heard her begin to cry. Jack stood up immediately. “I’ve got her.”
“Hi, Brookie. Are you hungry?” Jack kissed Brooklyn on the head, his daughter crying louder at his touch. “One thing we definitely know she has is your sense for dramatics.” Jack joked, making you giggle.

Finally we've arrived at 52, the series that turned me from a casual reader of a few comics into a full-on DC fan and Question enthusiast. This is the reason I set out on this project in the first place. I love it so much.
#1
This is my fifth time reading this in full, I think, and I still get hyped at this opening issue. Look at my guys.
It's a miracle this came together as well as it did. The omnibus is great for giving some insight into that construction process.
#2
There's just so much in 52 and I can't believe they pulled it off. Part of that is that it's thematically coherent, despite how different the plots are. Grief, reinvention, self-destruction as a means to cope with loss... it all feeds into itself.
In a slightly different timeline I came out of 52 fixated on Booster Gold and stumbled back into the Question later through Blue Beetle, instead of the other way around.
It took 416 issues but they're interacting! They're together! It's paying off!
Renee's heartbreaking spiral into self-destruction is interrupted by this massive dork. I love them.
#3
I really need to read Steel. Captivated by these two.
Skeets nudging the gyro cart owner out of the way is a very good panel. Catlike behavior.
#4
Booster and Bea's conversation is so. Hhh.
In the omnibus, Mark Waid calls Vic and Renee's scene "one of the high points of the entire series", and I'm with him.
#5
Renee and Maggie...
The metahuman hospital's a really cool piece of worldbuilding.
The only plotline I don't care much about is the spaceguys. I still like them, but the bar's really high here and I want to see other characters more.
Wish this was less creepy about Starfire.
#6
Kind of obsessed with Bob the theatre teacher and villain-for-hire, conceptually.
It takes a while for the Black Adam plot to pick up steam so this part isn't quite hitting yet.
Booster having a normal one.
#7
Renee hasn't talked to her mom in three years by this point. Oof.
The exes of all time!
Booster... Ralph blaming him for Ted's death is brutal.
#8
Oh cmon girl you're smarter than this. It's Lex Luthor, when has he ever had anyone's best interests at heart.
At least Ollie's still doing his thing.
Clark hating Booster is so good.
#9
"Smart-ass." "Consistency is everything." He is so annoying!
The John and Natasha fight is great.
#10
Clark taking a page from Lois' book is so good. Ridiculous.
I like Will and Professor Morrow a lot, nice that they're back in focus.
Supernova time :)
#11
His anti-smoking rant...
"I don't owe you anything." Oof ouch my soul.
Big talk here from a guy who spent a decade hung up on Myra.
The one superheroine ass shot I respect is in the "that's a Batwoman" panel because Renee deserves to appreciate Kate's ass.
#12
Besties moment.
Black Adam's plotline is gaining speed.
Oh Ralph.
#13
Oh NO, Ralph.
#14
They both look so good here. Love his stubble.
Desperately want to hear Tot's side of their conversation, and also their previous phone calls, because I'm sure he'd have Opinions about Vic deciding to become a mentor.
Shaking him. You are so annoying!
"There's no such thing as crazy, just behaviour that society has deemed unacceptable." SO true bestie.
#15
BOOSTER...
#16
Oh god, Renee.
Billy officiating Black Adam's wedding is very sweet.
#17
Luthor's superteam is one of the series highlights.
Still very funny that there's just a guy named Hannibal on it. Zero subtlety here.
Oh Lobo. I do not care about you.
#18
Tumblr media
He's so silly.
Renee is having truly awful time falling back into old coping measures and he's out here getting scooped and being made fun of for cockblocking.
Booster's shitty funeral still fucks me up. Choosing to believe Skeets intentionally didn't invite people for evil reasons because the idea nobody showed up is too much.
Once again, oh no Ralph.
#18/2
A backup with Vic's origins. It's about right, though I prefer him starting as the Question before moving back to Hub City.
It lists his "essential storylines" as Mysterious Suspense, The Question 1987, and Cry for Blood, which I mostly agree with. Mysterious Suspense is less important but reading a pre-DC story is useful background for the 87 run and it's his only solo option.

138 with Jamie drysdale!
- 138 “How are you this perfect?”
You’re high on pain killers when Jamie finally runs into the room, still wearing his Ducks warm ups. “Hey gorgeous, how are you feeling?” He kisses the top of your head as he sits on the edge of the hospital bed.
“Better now that you’re here.” You try to lean into him for a hug but wince from pain. Jamie helps you sit up comfortably before giving you another kiss. “Do you want to meet our baby?”
His eyes start to water as he nods and you hit the call button so the nurse can come in and help you into a wheel chair.
As she walks (pushes in your case) the two of you to the NICU, she fills Jamie in on the events of the day. A migraine had led you to an er visit where they determined your blood pressure was way too high and they sent you right up for an emergency c-section.
You were terrified, the two of you weren’t expecting the baby for another five weeks. None of your family was in town, including Jamie who was in Nashville for a game. It took you forever to get ahold of him and once you did, the only thing you said was that the nursery wasn’t ready.
Thankfully a nurse had taken the phone from you and explained the situation better than you could in your state. The Ducks got him on a flight immediately.
“How long does she have to stay in here?” Jamie asks the nurse as he holds your hand tightly at the door to the NICU.
“Once she’s up to five pounds she can leave the NICU. Besides being underweight, which is normal for a preemie, there are no other health concerns.” Jamie visibly relaxes from the news and drops your hand so he can pull a gown on.
Once you’re both suited up in the proper equipment, the nurse brings you in to see your baby. You’re not allowed to hold the baby yet but you can stick your hand in the side of the bassinet and hold their hand.
“We have a daughter?” Jamie looks between you and her in awe. Neither of you wanted to know the gender beforehand and your heart melts at his reaction. You were worried that he would want a boy.
“She’s just the sweetest thing. Everyone loves her. Do you have a name picked out?” The nurse asks you.
You share a look with Jamie. You had both agreed on a boy name but you were still undecided on a girls name, neither of you willing to compromise. “Magnolia Grace.” Jamie decides.
“Really?” You asked him, slightly surprised. That’s the name you wanted but he didn’t like.
“Yeah, it fits her perfectly.” He decides. He looks down at her again and you can tell he’s smiling by the way his eyes crinkle. “Hi Maggie. I’m your Dad.”
Maybe it’s all the hormones, or the pain killers, but you feel yourself falling more in love with him. “How are you this perfect?” You ask him.
“You’re the perfect one, baby.” He bends down to kiss you before realizing he can’t with the masks you both have on. “I love my girls so much.”

The second letter was dropped off at the hospital, along with a to-go salad and a bag of salt and vinegar chips, your favorite. You were embarrassed to admit how quickly you rushed off to the lounge to tear it open.
Bradley’s previous letter had left you in tears.
Hey Mags. In the last letter I said I’d start from the beginning. But I missed a few days, so let’s backtrack.
The night we fought.
It haunts me. I’ve never felt more awful than I did walking out of your apartment that night. Maybe when you told me about the baby, or the day my mother died. But seeing you hurt like that? It tore me apart.
I knew the moment I saw you that night on the floor that I had changed the course of our entire lives.
I knew it the moment that other girl pressed her hand on my thigh at the party. The moment I let everything we had dreamed of slip away.
It was a mistake, Maggie, and I will never be able to tell you how sorry I am. I didn’t do it to hurt you. I didn’t even do it because I wanted her. How could anyone be better than you, more beautiful than you, smarter than you? I think I did it because somewhere deep down, I was terrified. I was scared that somewhere along the way, I would disappoint you. Even if I was trying to be the man you needed me to be, I would disappoint you. And I was afraid of how much it would hurt to know that I wasn’t enough for you, even when I gave it my all. So maybe I let myself be tempted because I knew that it was an easier way out than living with the unbearable knowledge that no matter how hard I tried, I would never be good enough for you.
It was a surefire way to confirm that I didn’t deserve you without spending years waiting for the hammer to drop. And that was selfish of me.
I’ve regretted it every day since. You gave me absolutely everything and so much more than I even realized at the time. And I tore it all down in a matter of minutes.
What would have happened if I had never made that mistake? If you and I had stayed together after graduation?
Do you ever wonder about the life we would have had together?
I do. All the time. I think we’d live here, in my parent’s house. You’d get really into gardening and making vegetable soup as soon as the temperature dipped below seventy degrees. I’d stop by the farmer’s market in the mornings after our night watch to buy you pastries and coffee, and wake you up on lazy Saturday mornings in bed with breakfast on a tray. I think we would have been happy. It would have been hard, no doubt about that. We were so young and so naive. But God, Mags, the way I loved you. It could have been enough.
You rebuilt me from the ground up. It wasn’t just that you were the first person to tell me you loved me outside of my parents. You spent the time to see me for who I was, anticipate my needs without me ever having to say them. I’ll never know a love like that again. I was lucky to have had you for a moment let alone three years.
There’s no amount of ‘I’m sorry’ that will fix the damage I’ve done. No amount of groveling or gifts. All I can do is tell you that I’ll spend forever trying to buy back your faith in me, Maggie. I don’t have my eye on anyone else. I don’t care about anyone else. It is, and always will be, you.
Love,
Bradley
***
You set the letter down and wiped away a tear.
After your shift, you had driven home and pulled it out of your bag to re-read it. Bradley’s handwriting had improved significantly since college.
It seems a lot of parts of him had changed since that night.
He was no longer the fraternity guy who had broken your heart. You had spent eight years thinking he walked out with no regard for how you felt. The fact that you never heard from him again had torn you apart. If it hadn’t been for the pregnancy and the visit to the ER you might never have recovered. Meeting Joan, going to nursing school, those events had given you a purpose.
Without them, you might never have been able to get over the heartbreak of watching Bradley walk out that door.
So a part of you welcomed the knowledge that it hadn’t been easy for him to walk away. There was even a whisper of comfort knowing that he had been outside that night. The timing didn’t line up. It never had for the two of you. You were too young and too in love and now you were older, but different people. He was a stranger to you.
So why did you still ache for him?
***
Dear Mags,
I never told you much about my parents, and you were too considerate to break that boundary and ask. You still don’t know why I joined the Navy or became an aviator. When you knew me, I was just a stupid kid who was getting a degree but had no real plans for the future. I don’t know what you saw in me, to be honest.
I know what I saw in you, though. Fire. Ambition. Drive. All of the things I wanted for myself. You shaped me without ever realizing it.
After graduation I came home. I did the only thing that felt like an option, I went to Officer Candidate School in Pensacola. It’s essentially a few months where they train you, treat you like a pledge, and when you’re done you’re an officer.
My father was an aviator. He died in service, from an issue ejecting from a jet, when I was three years old.
Following in his footsteps was the only future I had with you out of the picture. It’s dangerous, I’m not going to lie to you. There have been several times I thought I might not come home from this. But it’s OK because there’s never been someone at home waiting for me to come back. I don’t have a wife or a son who would mourn me.
You were the first person I could see a future with, Maggie. You were the only person who made me feel the way I know my parents felt about each other.
With you out of the picture, I wasn’t afraid to put my life at risk. What did I have to live for, really?
So I joined the Navy. And the very first time I got in the cockpit of a jet I knew it was the right choice. Some people find their passion early in life. I was twenty three. And I still remember how the air felt on my skin as I climbed the ladder into the cockpit. The way the sun hit me through the glass top. It was the most natural thing in the world, sitting there.
I think if we had stayed together, I wouldn’t have done it. I wouldn’t have been able to stomach the idea of being in the Navy and flying the way we fly knowing you were at home, waiting on me.
That’s perhaps the only fringe benefit of that night.
That’s how I ended up here. North Island is home to me. I can’t believe you ended up here, too. Fate, Mags. Or chance. Luck. Coincidence. Whatever it is, I’m thankful.
Talk to you tomorrow.
Love,
Bradley
***
Dear Bradley,
I haven’t written a letter in I don’t know how long. Years, definitely.
I hate to say that your first letter made me cry. Even after everything, I didn’t want you to be alone at graduation. I’m glad you had friends around, but it still hurts. You were so easy to love, Bradley. In that sense, you were never alone.
Would you hate me if you knew that I never once thought you regretted it? I thought you simply walked out of my life with no regard for me or the future we had built up in our minds. Maybe thinking so little of you was the only way I could get through the pain of it all.
I love vegetable soup by the way, with really crusty bread and a shit ton of butter. But I have a black thumb so I’ll have to forgo the garden. I bought a tomato plant once, put it outside. Waited all damn season and one half ass tomato grew. When I went to pick it, after days of careful watching, I found out a squirrel had beat me to it. It’s been farmer’s markets and Whole Foods for me ever since.
I'm sorry about your dad. But it all makes sense now. Why you don’t talk about them. Why you went into the Navy. All of that pain that you push down, Brad, it eats you away. You shouldn’t be so afraid to say it outloud. Let them live on in your memories. They’re a part of you.
We were young. We were stupid and naive and all of the things you have to be to fall in love at nineteen and think that it’ll last forever.
That doesn’t mean I would have grown out of my love for you, Bradley. If you hadn’t done what you did, if you had never left, who’s to say we wouldn’t have made it? Who’s to say we wouldn’t have been able to work past it all. I think you underestimate how much I fucking loved you. You’re right. I wanted to build you up and make you mine and create a home for you. You deserved that. You deserved to know what it was like to be loved by someone. Wholly. Unconditionally.
You’re right, Bradley. You have a piece of my heart. You’ve had it for years. I think we’ve both been walking around a little broken all this time.
Here’s the thing. I think we need to get past it. Because a part of me doesn’t regret what happened. If you hadn’t cheated, you never would have left. I never would have gone to the hospital alone or met Joan or decided to go into nursing. You wouldn’t have joined the Navy. Neither of us would be the people we are today if we hadn’t split apart that night.
Sometimes people leave, Bradley, but sometimes people stay.
We made our way together once.
Who’s to say we can’t make our way back to each other?
Love,
Maggie

Does Rick have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
Rick tenses his jaw a lot, as well as extends it to relieve stress, he squints a lot, walks and fights using his hips/ hip movement to sustain his weight and movements, he tilts his head when something calls his attention, he follows his enemies with his eyes, he snarls when he's stressed, he chews his lips and inner cheeks when he's nervous and parts his lips when he's in deep thought or impressed. He also furrows his brow and wrinkles his nose when annoyed. When he wants to convince someone, he nods when he's speaking while making eye contact. He extends his arm towards the person when he wants to calm them down or refrain them from attacking- a lot of his body language and posture come from his police academy training. He's very expressive.
What is Rick's earliest memory?
Playing with his parents or his younger brother, probably. What does Rick consider the most important event of your life so far?
His son Carl. (His birth, the moments with him).
Who has had the most influence on Rick?
His parents, his grandfather, then after the outbreak, Hershel, Carl.
Is there anything Rick absolutely refuses to do under any circumstances? Why does he refuse to do it?
Torture/abuse his children resulting in their death. I think he would do anything to anyone else to prevent his kids from having that destiny, even if he did it crying or shouting. He refuses to do it because he can't see a worst outcome for his kids than that.
Who is the person Rick despises the most, and why?
The Governor, Negan, Joe (and the Claimers), the police officers from the hospital (Episode "Coda"). Because they use and abuse people just because they can, out of sadism or to feed their ego, they are tyrants who rule by fear and oppression, making the weakest suffer, creating systems of power where there's no real freedom and most people who live in it live under pain, abuse or under some lie. Out of them all, probably he despises Joe/the Claimers and the police officers from the hospital the most, because they were willing to abuse children and vulnerable people, besides all the rest. Even the Governor and Negan had SOME level of morals, even if distorted.
What is Rick's favorite color?
Probably blue and brown (for fashion) since he picks those colors for shirts and jackets to wear in moments of the series where he had different options and could have gone for something different.
Name three things Rick considers himself to be very good at, and three things he considers himself to be very bad at.
He's good at planning and making strategies, leading and convincing people; and he's good at learning- he's a quick learner. Rick's bad at dealing with his personal emotional problems, he's bad at expressing his emotions, he's bad at controlling his emotions and seeing other's emotional points of view (he's very emphatic and feels emotions very strongly, he can see from other's point of view when it comes to logic or strategy, but emotionally, Rick's awful)- he failed to understand the weight that of not killing Negan had on Daryl and Maggie and couldn't predict their betrayal. If he truly knew the dimension of their feelings, he would have approached the subject earlier, I believe. Rick also thinks he's bad at teaching and dealing with people socially when he doesn't have too much affinity with them (small talk, superficial talks, gossip, etc.)- I personally think he is a great teacher though.
What three words would others probably use to describe Rick?
Brave, clever, fierce.

Imagine breaking up the plan when you realize that you're in love with Jimmy Darling
Anonymous request: Maybe I request where Maggie and her sister get a job and pretend to like that freaks they're working for Stanley just like scene but y/N breaks up the deal since she falls love Jimmy so her sister and Stanley gets at her so Stanley gets Revenge and tells Jimmy. That Y/n never loved him that it was all game to get him to love with her so she could kill him so when she sees at him hospital he doesn't sees her but then he saves her from Maggie
Your taxi pulled up to the freak show not noticing someone was following it over to the road. You both appear from the cab "Sorry, but we're close." the handsome guy tells your sister and you
"We're not here as customers, we want a job." You smile
He gives your sister and you a look as he looked at both of you up and down he shakes his head
"I'm a fortune teller and my sister has a nice voice." Maggie tells him
"Follow me this way." He says
"Who are they?" Elsa asks
"I think she's a legitimate teller." He tells Elsa. "Her sister has a nice voice."
Elsa raises an eyebrow "I doubt it."
Maggie and you entered the room you began to sing making Jimmy and Elsa shocked They clapped and shouted
"You're hired." Elsa tells you
You looked over at your sister you both smirked at each other
"So you're the fortune teller?" Elsa laughs
"Don't believe me?" Maggie asks angrily
"No." Elsa answers
Maggie takes out her crystal ball and puts it on the table "There's a strange man that is going to help you achieve this."
"When is that man coming?" Elsa asks, obviously craving the fame "I'm just curious."
"Sooner than you expect." Maggie fakes a smile
"You're hired by the way." Elsa smiles at the thought of having fame
Later that night Jimmy and you were at the telephone booth you were in the phone booth talking to Stanley while Jimmy was outside on his motorcycle waiting for you
"I don't think it's a good idea murder wasn't a part of my plan." You said on the phone
"Y/n no one will miss a freak." Stanley reassures you
You hang up and went outside where you see a police car stop behind Jimmy and you
"Miss, are you lost? Is he bothering you? " The policeman asks, giving a disgust look at Jimmy
You shake your head with a smile, "I'm fine,he's not bothering me."
"Are you sure?" He raised an eyebrow
"Why wouldn't I be?" You give him a confused look
"Because a good girl like you shouldn't be hanging around with people like that." The officer smirks
You looked over at Jimmy You noticed that he was starting to get upset " "I can hang out with whoever I want. No one tells me what I can't do or what I can do."
"It smells like pig shit anyways." Jimmy tells you making you laugh
Jimmy and you notice Twisty In the woods you two ran to him and before you two could stop him you both were captured
"Awe, what a beautiful thing, but sadly today, it's your last day. Any last words? " Dany smirks
Before he could sawed in you half he was knocked off by Jimmy and you went to save the kids Jimmy and you quickly went to the camp with thank you's from the citizens
"Why haven't your sister and you been answering my calls." Stanley asks angrily
"We've just been busy." Maggie tells him
"Doing what? Hanging out with them. kill Jimmy I told Y/n that, but now it seems like she doesn't want to." Stanley mocks
Jimmy and you were kissing as Maggie quickly pushes Jimmy away from you so she could slap you Maggie looked at you angrily as you touch your cheek
"Maggie, what's wrong with you? Why did you slap Y/n for? " Jimmy asks
"I need to talk to Y/n so Jimmy leave us."Maggie says
Jimmy looked at you waiting for your approval. You nodded at him and he kissed your forehead before he left "see you later darling."
"Why did you slap me?" You asked
"Why haven't you killed him already? You were supposed to kill him three days ago. What's taking you too long?" Maggie incensed
"I can't do it." You whispered
"What do you mean you can't do it?" Maggie infuriate
"Sorry Maggie I can't do it because I fell in love with Jimmy so the deal is off." You said to her
"You're a stupid one, you were not supposed to fall in love with that ugly freak. " Maggie furiously slaps you "since you're in love with that freak, I don't have any choice but to kill him myself."
You got down on your knees "Maggie please I beg you don't kill him, please I love him so much that I don't know what I'll do without him."
Maggie rolled her eyes "don't be dramatic." She quickly gives you a look before leaving "just know that I'm going to tell Stanley about this."
You quickly left your tent you notice that Jimmy was coming your way you quickly wiped off your tears you saw that he had a flower crown on his hand
He smiled and put the flower crown on your head. "I know it's been a couple days that we have met, but I was wondering if you want to be my girlfriend."
You grinned and pulled Jimmy into a kiss "that's my answer."
Stanley slapped Maggie "how can Y/n and you be that stupid."
"I didn't fall in love with that freak Y/n did." Maggie argues
"You should have killed him instead of wasting time. " Stanley says, irritated
"It's not my fault that every time I try to get him alone, he is always with Y/n or with the freaks. " Maggie infuriating tells Stanley
"Maggie don't you think? You don't have a brain?" Stanley barks
"Don't insult me, how come you don't do it yourself instead of asking us." Maggie crossed her arms
"Of course I'm going to do it, I'll do a better job than your stupid sister and you."
"What are you doing to me?" Jimmy cries in pain
"Just showing Y/n what happens when she doesn't keep up with the plan." Stanley laughs
"What plan? What are you talking about?" Jimmy asks confused
Stanley laughs "the plan was for Maggie and Y/n to be a fake fortune teller and a singer once they got your freaks Family and your trust they were supposed to kill all of you."
"You're lying, I know your lying Y/n is not like that she loves my family and me." Jimmy shakes his head
"I bet Y/n faked her love for your family and you she wouldn't love an ugly freak like you Jimmy."
You walked into Jimmy's room you made your way to his bed you press a kiss on his forehead, causing him to wake up and push you away
"Jellybean?" You asked hurt
"Don't touch me." Jimmy tells you
"Jellybean what did I do?" You asked, confused on why Jimmy was acting like this to you
"Y/n don't act dumb you know what your sister and you did. I already found out about your plan."
"Jellybean, please let me explain." You tell him crying
"Explain what? You were waiting to get our trust so your sister and you could kill us? Or that your love for me was fake." Jimmy wiped his tears off
"Jellybean please when I realized that I was in love with you I broke off the plan." You try to tell him
"You should have told me if you had told me I could possibly find a way to forget you but I can't." Jimmy shakes his Head at you
"Jimmy, please believe me when I say that I love you with all of my heart." You try to reassure him
"I should have known a normal woman wouldn't fall for a freak like me." Jimmy whispers to you crying
"Jellybean please I love you-". You try to get Jimmy to look at you
Jimmy turns his head to look in another direction "Leave Y/n I don't want to see you or hear you."
"Jimmy-".
"I said leave."
You quickly left Jimmy's room crying as the family stared at you sadly there were no hated towards you
"Jimmy, you act it so cold towards her." Dot tells Jimmy
"What she did to us was worse than I was to her. " Jimmy tells Dot and Bette
"We know what she did was bad, but she really loves you. We could see it in her eyes. " Bette said
"If she does love me then how come she didn't tell me sooner?" Jimmy asks
"Maybe she was finding a way to tell you without you getting mad at her." Dot answers
"Or perhaps she did want to tell you, but she was scared to lose you. " Bette says
You packed all of your belongings you wiped off your tears you quickly left the letter on the bed before you could stand up you were knocked out
Jimmy quickly went to your shared trailer he had tears on his face when he saw you were gone, he angrily stomps the ground, he was about to leave when he notices a letter on the bed he quickly opens the letter
Dear,
"My Jellybean I know what I did was wrong that I can't forget myself for hurting you the best man of my life I know that I should told you but I was scared to lose you you mean the world to me a lot but now my world is gone because of me because of my lies I'm truly sorry for what I have done not only did I lost the family and your trust but i lost your love that you had for me I always imagined us getting married and having kids now I have to suffer and not see it happen I'm leaving so you don't have to face me anymore I hope one day you can forget me once again I'm truly sorry for everything that I did or for what I didn't do just know that I'll always love you with all of my heart."
Love, Y/n
Jimmy wiped off his tears, "I love you too my darling, I need to find you." Jimmy stood but he kneeled when he saw your flower crown on the floor with a card on it "come and find your girlfriend hopefully you get there on time."
"Maggie, please don't do this." You pleased
Maggie rolled her eyes "Shut up Y/n you should have killed that freak Jimmy but since you didn't do it you need to suffer."
"Maggie, I'm your sister." You tell her
"You're not my sister. I can't have a sister that can't do her part of the plan because she's in love with that freak. " Maggie shakes her head "I'll be the laughter of everyone because of you dating that freak, so I can't have that happen."
"Maggie let her go." Jimmy tells her
"Awe look sis your Boyfriend is here to save you how cute and romantic." Maggie teases
"I mean it Maggie let her go."
"Jimmy I was just joking with my sis right Y/n I was joking with you." Maggie looks at you "tell him that I was just joking with you."
You quickly got out from Maggie grip Jimmy opened his arms to hug you he pressed a kiss to your lips, "I forget you Y/n I love you so much.
You smiled "I love you so much as well."
The family, Jimmy, and you were watching Maggie volunteerd to be sawed in half for for Chester Creb magic trick not noticing that Chester was hallucinating your sister Maggie for Lucy, Alice, and Marjorie
You looked away when you saw what he did to your sister. He looked at you "I can put her back." You knew that your sister was gone so you told Jimmy to take you away "darling, I'm very sorry for your sister." Jimmy pulls you into a hug
"I can't do anything about it, she's gone."
Jimmy pulls you into a kiss "I have missed your kisses."
"Jimmy, I have something to tell you I hope it makes you happy." You smiled
"Well darling, I want to ask you something that I know that will make you happy." Jimmy grinned
"What is it?"
Jimmy got down to one of his knees and pulled out a ring box from his pocket "will you please marry me."
You let out tears "Yes, Jimmy I'll marry you."
Jimmy stood up and hugged you "you made me the happiest man in the world so darling, what did you want to tell me?"
"I'm pregnant." You smiled
"I'm going to be a father." Jimmy looks at you happily
You nodded, smiling as Jimmy happily leaves to go tell the family about the great news
