He can't really "eat" per se (and the only thing that actually gives him any nourishment is teeth) but Oaky still loves the taste of apples. They were his favorite before he died as well. 🍎
They crunch really nicely and cause of his teeth, he can chomp them in half easily. Definitely more of a sensory thing for him.
Secondo has a sweet tooth and sour candy is his favorite.
That is true because he and i share a braincell (taste bud?). Sour candy is amazing and i am willing to let it destroy my mouth as long as it's really sour 😤
I also think that man makes a MEAN lemon sherbet, Siblings wait in line outside of his quarters in summer to get some of it and they eventually have him make it in the Ministry kitchens in bigger quantities.
I'll give you a whole bouquet if you can give me even one even if it's made up line from Latin teacher copia 👀 You may have forgotten about it but I haven't
Funnily enough I HAD forgotten about it...but I had it saved in my google docs as "sexy latin professor Copia" so it was easy enough to find!
Copia x Reader (NSFW, reader is his TA, Copia growls in a sexy way, mention of spanking, 18+ only, not edited don't judge me)
You never expected the semester to end with you bent over Cardinal Copia’s desk and your bare ass sticking into the air.
However…here you were. Cardinal Copia’s, no Professor Copia’s, handprint still stinging and red on your skin. He said he preferred being called Professor while at the college to teach his seminar. It didn’t matter to you either way, you’d call him whatever he wanted as long as he kept touching you. Even having him looking at you was enough.
And then today he had given his final lecture and of course chose to speak about the sin of lust. You had barely made it through the class and had been vibrating at your desk the entire time. He had kept sending dark looks your way and you swore he kept adding a darker and darker growl each time he said lust.
Then came the wait of the students handing in their final assignments and you trying to keep the stack nice and neat in your shaking hands. Professor Copia had been standing at the door saying goodbye to everyone, acting pleased when everyone was enthusiastic about how the class went and asking if he’d be back.
“Oh I’m sure there’s a few reasons for me to come back.” You didn’t need to turn around to know he was staring at you as he said it. It felt like the strange eyes of his could burn into your soul. You glanced up at the clock on the wall, taking a few shaky breaths as it slowly clicked over to the last minute of class. In one minute you wouldn’t be his TA anymore and all the anticipation that had been building between you for weeks could be resolved.
You turned when you heard the door close, the sound echoing through the empty room. He was slowly stalking towards you like a predator, throwing a quick glance up to the clock at the same time you did. When it chimed at the hour he met your eyes and smiled while he reached over and took the stack of assignments out of your hands.
He then dropped them to let them scatter across the floor.

What are your thoughts on the Phaedra story before it was written twice by Eurypides? I read that in his 1st, lost version, she is more "villanous", trying to force herself on Hyppolitus and using love potions, then maliciouosly inventing the rape story to get some revenge, the Athenians were outraged by this version of the story; in the 2nd version Phaedra falls victim of a goddess' schemes and her old servant's attempt of helping her. Do you think any of these versions is closer to a pre-Eurypides narrative of the Hyppolitus/Phaedra affaire? Was Phaedra seen as a tragic heroine or a villain in mythology before the plays were written? Is there a version of this sad story that doesn't end with the 2 main characters' death? Is there an Ancient version in which Hippolytus actually rapes Phaedra, or is this more common in nowadays' "modern retellings" of Greeks Myths? Thanks.
WHAT A QUESTION!!! To be honest, l think she was considered evil. (TW: Incest and rape)
Incest was a trippy thing in Ancient Greece, uncle, and niece, cousin incest was considered fine, since most of the married couples of incest were either of one of these. (and maybe sibling incest??? I don't know l need to do more research on that) But parent-child incest was a big, and l mean BIG no-no. Oedipus, Myrhha, and Thyrestes are victims of these (And Ida's father and sister but l don't remember their names) Thyrestes is the one exception because it was the only way for him to get revenge on his brother
But that's not the point, the point is, parent-child incest, whether it was blood-related or not, was wrong. Phaedra was in the wrong for lusting over his stepson. Now, onto the 2 versions;
The first one received hate from the Athenians because Phaedra, a woman, was exclusively talking about lusting over her stepson. A woman expressing any affection was considered, l don't know... Weird? It was some sort of taboo, and expressing lust was an even bigger one. Athenians hated this because Phaedra, as a woman, showed explicit lust towards Hippolyta. This is the, well-known and shown in Euripides, shameless lustful incestuous Phaedra that the Athenians acknowledged but hated.
Now, Ovid and Seneca show sympathy towards her, none of them make her the victim but instead make her a tragic, fate's victim. Do l agree with this? Hell no. But it is an example that shows some people (ROMANS) didn't see her as a villain at all. And, the version two you describe is actually the same as what Seneca wrote in his work, Phaedra!
There are very versions of this myth, sometimes Phaedra doesn't kill herself, instead tells Theseus of what happened to her instead? In most cases, she kills herself for the rejection and fear of consequences, a version tells that she kills herself because she did not know Hippoyltus would die.
Hippolytus dies in most versions, but there is a version that says that Artemis didn't want him dead so she went to Asceplios and he cured Hippolytus. This version is told by Pausians, and it results in a cult growing around Hippolytus, associated with the cult of Diana (the Roman version of Artemis). But then Hippolytus gets married in the version??? So, so much for the chastity towards Artemis, ig...
Oh! And, the "Hippolytus raped Phaedra" comes from a retelling, I think, because l couldn't find one version with him as the villain, yes he is seen being misogynist in Seneca's versions, but he is disgusted by Phaedra's confession. So, whoever wrote that is disgusting! And, l believe in that Phaedra was a villainous woman who was cursed by Aphrodite version, You're welcome!!! <333 (If l made any mistakes, please let me know!!)

Alright I'll go with one I've been thinking a lot about this week and this can be blamed on @writingjourney . It's an AU (because of fucking course it is) and basically the Emeritus's are all famous chefs. Copia recently graduated from culinary school and starts to work at Secondo's restaurant, but he has a dream of opening his own. Not sure who the reader will be yet? Still kind of moving stuff around in my head for it. I did write a beginning bit though so I'll throw that below:
The thing about being an Emeritus was that Copia never had a choice growing up, he was expected to follow in the family’s footsteps. To continue what Nihil’s father’s father and so on had accomplished. So no one ever asked him what his future plans were, it was always painfully obvious. Copia had known what he was going to be before he barely knew anything else.
Copia was going to be a chef.
The type of chef didn’t really matter, his family had all kinds. Primo’s focus was on traditional Italian dishes but only using organic, farm to table ingredients. Although it had been many years since he’d step into a kitchen professionally he was still revered in the industry. He was often hired by political dignitaries or even celebrities to cater an event. His appearance as a judge on Iron Chef was still the highest rated episode of any show on Food Network even years later.
Secondo was a different beast altogether. He despised the fame that came with not only his family name but with owning and operating a successful restaurant. Although successful wasn’t even the right word to describe Idolatrine. It could take over a year to get a reservation there and name dropping or trying to slip anyone extra money to bump your spot only made your wait time longer. Secondo was never one to suffer fools (one of the main reasons he and Nihil hadn’t spoken in nearly 20 years) and anyone that tried to throw their weight around simply because they were ‘famous’ made you the biggest fool in Secondo’s book.
There was only one fool Secondo willingly, although reluctantly, spent time with and that was his pastry chef and younger brother, Terzo. If there was one brother to fully embrace the fame and fortune that came with being an Emeritus it was him. He had more stamps in his passport by the age of 16 than most people got in their lifetime. His excuse had always been studying desserts the world over, but the pictures that always appeared in the tabloids the next day told a different story. Despite the drama that having Terzo in his kitchen created, Secondo was proud of the work his little brother did. Terzo was one of the most skilled and revered pastry chefs in the world and even Secondo could admit he was part of the reason Idolatrine was so popular.
recently i’ve been reading jessica defino’s newsletter “the unpublishable” and it’s totally opened my eyes to beauty culture and the impacts of it! like, i’ve changed so much and have realized a lot. i think you’d find it extremely interesting! maybe it might change your perspective like it did mine!
Thank you so much for reccomending me this !!
I love the study of beauty and I am always looking for anything on the subject. I am currently reading the piece she has written on skincare and its an interesting take. I think she misses the mark the mark a couple of times. She mentions a couple of things that I wish she would expand on. Her piece on Kim Kardashian is kinda wierd. Her tone in writing in very American, a writing style I am not too fond but I will continue to read more of her pieces.
Do you have any in particluar that you really loved?
Again, Thank you for sending me this xx
Edit: I have read more of her pieces and I am sorry but I don't like her writing at all. Like I said eariler she misses the mark with a lot of her point and it just reads as an angry woman writing. Like her piece on minimal makeup, its kind of all over the place. She tries to cover twenty different points per piece but she never stops and justifies what she is saying either.
'Payment for this kind of labor comes in the form of privilege. Embodying the beauty ideal elicits better social treatment, more attention from teachers and supervisors, greater job opportunities, higher pay. To vanish into beauty is to become visible as a person. '
(How The '5-Minute Face' Became The $5,000 Face)
Like this is a great point but she doen't talk about the why. Why do we treat people better when they are 'beautiful'? Citing papers and other activists is great if you can backup them up with the whys .
In her website she says she explores 'how beauty culture impacts people — physically, psychologically, and psychospiritually.' She really doesn't explore the culture, philosophy and history behind Beauty. Still, Thank you for reccomending but not my cup of tea.
