Why I Don’t Ship the Ino-Shika-Cho Trio with Eachother

(Disclaimer: When I talk about the trio, I’m predominantly talking about Ino, Shikamaru, and Choji, but it does apply to the other trios to a lesser extent.)

I just want to put this out there and see if anyone agrees.

I usually ship based on how much sense a ship makes to me. Not based on amount of canon content, I think I’ve made it clear by now that I don’t give a shit about what canon has to say about relationships. It’s based on how I imagine their dynamic and how potentially romantic I can imagine that ship being. So, going off of that, I “should” ship the Ino-Shika-Cho trio. They have history, they’re closely knit, and there’s no problem that sticks out about their dynamic. But I don’t ship it and I’ve finally deduced why.

The Ino-Shika-Cho trio is a sibling dynamic.

Imagine being raised alongside two people for the express purpose of becoming a close knit team that works well together and never abandons each other. Your parents are also super close and spend all your childhood together, from when you learned to walk through your teen years. Can you imagine wanting to fuck them? Can you imagine wanting to marry them? My answer is, obviously, no because I can’t imagine seeing them anything other than a sibling. That’s really what it is that disturbs me about the ships; they don’t just have history, they were raised together. Even in canon, their dynamic never comes across as romantic, and I don’t think I want it to.

Because Naruto had to marry Hinata, Neji died as a cupid for them.

Because Naruto married Hinata, Kiba couldn't be with her and so he was remain single.

Because Naruto married Hinata, Sasuke couldn't be with him (well, publicly).

Because Sakura married Sasuke (the Uchiha crest if we're being honest), Sai had to marry Ino, and because of this Choji married Karui.

So you see now, how |\||-| is the cause of all narrative problems and plotholes.

The only ones that made sense was Shikamaru and Temari.

Probably the only unaffected by this whole Shakespearean disaster was Tenten.

And I do try to get creative, I post many other ships to, but the mod hardly ever uploads them, I can send a message about another ship, and then send one about ChoIno afterwards and the choIno will get posted in like a week but the other will get posted after a couple of months. I think the mod just favors confessions about team 7 and team ten ships.

well that's interesting... idk how the mod picks the posts to upload, if they do it chronologically or after whatever they like best or think will get people to talk. i don't really keep up with the blogs anymore because i decided to not give a fuck, so i don't really know if this issue has been adressed or not.

maybe they don't go through everything chronologically but pick at random, but if it's ONLY your choino confessions that are getting posted there's definitely something fishy about that. i wouldn't really know why though, since i barely met anyone who actually ships choino (no front anon). maybe they just try to bring diversity into the ships that are being posted so it's not just anti nh/ss or sns??

That confession blog... why suddenly there are so many anti saiino and anti shikatema posts and suddenly there are also pro shikaino and choino posts? I can clearly see who are behind those confessions...their moves are so obvious... Not to mention the shikatema hate are so forced...

I've been asked to let users post their art in December because they've been busy on November. That's cool for me. Just use the proper tags and prompts stated in the old rules. OLD RULES The prompts are the followings:

2. Please, use the nsfw, ecchi or gore tags if necessary. Some users appreciate not seeing certain types of content or being warned about it.

3. It would be hard to precisely separate the platonic and romantic content, so for this event we’ll be using other two tags along with the usual ones: romanticleeten and platonicleeten

Restrictions:

1. No plagiarism – stealing will not be tolerated. It’s ok to use the official material of the series, but not to use other fan artists content, unless you have permission to do so… if this is the case, please note that out in the description.

2. No bashing or anti-content of any kind. Either romance or platonic supporters should be respected and that also goes for their artwork. Disrespectful comments or anti-LeeTen fanwork won’t be tolerated.

3. No Rock Lee/TenTen ships other than LeeTen.
