sorry. but the idea of old man merlin puttering around in his kitchen in the early morning, fussing over the seating and chair logistics at his (round) kitchen table, and then getting frustrated with himself at coming up short- and having the bitter realization that he’ll always come up short, by a whole table actually, kills me.

I honestly don't know what else kishimoto could've done to show how unserious nh is. he makes hinata confess selfishly in front of naruto at the worst possible moment only to get one panelled and have naruto ignore her confession afterwards, making sakura the one to hug naruto at the end of the arc, only for naruto to repeat hinata's words to sasuke, because sasuke's the only one on naruto's mind and not any other girl. kishimoto would rather kill off neji 'to play cupid' (his own words) instead of writing a heartfelt moment just between nh, he makes naruto say it's 'thanks to hinata standing by his side' despite the fact that hinata didn't stand by naruto's side in the manga besides that one panel where she comments on naruto's manly hand over her cousin's body (and it's not even standing by naruto's side really, she just guilt trips him by saying his life is not his own), and the fact that kishi later gives that role to sasuke, even paralleling sns to minakushi while he's at it. kishi in an interview even said 'hinata is not the type of person who stands by the hero's side, she watches from the shadows' like yeah we know. 'you must like hinata cuz of her big boobs'; 'hinata didn't do anything (like sakura) yet she kept getting popular.' then of course there's the last LOL. kishi's so unserious about nh, both in the manga and in interviews, like open your eyes.

the scene where Viserys tells Rhaenyra about the secret prophecy, a prophecy that has been passed down from kings to their future descendants made my heart ache yet again for a baby Daenerys Targaryen, who was born without this crucial knowledge because her descendants were all murdered, leaving her ignorant of this knowledge, that is until Jon Snow comes to warn her…

it also left me filled with an old rage in having to recall the travesty that was the last few seasons of GOT. here was this prophecy that told of a united world lead by a Targaryen—they nearly had peace in their grasp with Daenerys and Jon, fulfilling the prophecy, representing the literal song of ice and fire! and yet d&d STILL managed to ruin this glorious setup that was literally fed to them. they really did have no excuse.
