we are doing intros and i need to drop into this really quick.
Hi! I am Alexia. I am currently the nerdiest researcher y’all will ever find. jokes i am a finance student, but i guess you call me a financial researcher. EITHER WAY i like to read and discover new things. my favorite hobbies are sleeping and sleeping. my two babes over here, jim and judy, don’t remember anything from their lies before.
(what he does know) JIM HAWKINS
his father left him at a young age, causing jim to hold a slight bitterness towards the fact
he was the only child
he believed that his mother owned an inn, somewhere off the west coast near canada. he isn’t quite sure why he ever left, since he believed he would have always been by her side helping her.
ever since a child, he had a knack for getting in trouble. this has never gone away, and perhaps has gotten worse.
he is huge interest in the stars and space, a completely science junkie. he doesn’t believe in aliens, but of course he wonders what else lies beyond this universe.
considered a mechanic, probably is a mechanic if they have one in town. he is very good with his hands and has been building odd contraptions since a child. he rigged the motorcycle he owned to drive faster and is currently attempting to build a machine that could fly. he isn’t sure why he needs to, but is feels compelled to reach the stars.
he is sort of selfless but also kind of sarcastic at times...basically protecting himself
Tumblr media
(what she does know) JUDY HOPPS
she left her home to pursue a dream at a young age. her parents were worrisome that she would not fit in, though judy was always determined as a young girl.
she ended up become part of the police force, though she isn’t sure why. somewhere, along the line, she feels as if she had always dreamt of being an officer. though her dreams have somehow become a blurry vision intertwined with lost thoughts and confusion.
she likes long walks on the beach and relaxing under trees, especially if she has a book in her hands. she is always trying to find new things to learn, despite never being good at any of it.
judy is a little naive, but tends to see the best in all
her biggest fear are foxes
I will probably add more later, but hit me up if you want to plot. i should make a connections page too, but ill do that later tonight.

Seattle Opera 2017-18 Season Announcement
So, the 2017-18 Seattle Opera season has been announced, and I gotta say--it’s not hugely inspiring.
August: Madama Butterfly with Lianna Haroutounian and Alexia Voulgaridou in the title role, Alexy Dolgov and Dominick Chenes as Pinkerton, Weston Hurt as Sharpless, Renée Rapier as Suzuki, Carlo Montanaro conducting, in a production from New Zealand Opera, directed by Kate Cherry.
October: Barber of Seville with “TBA” and Sophia Fomina as Rosina, Matthew Grills and Andrew Owens as Almaviva, John Moore and William Liverman as Figaro, Kevin Glavin as Bartolo, and Daniel Sumegi as Basilio, conducted by Giacomo Sagripanti, directed by Lindy Hume with a production from Opera Queensland.
January: A revival of the Jonathan Miller staging of Così fan tutte, with Fiordiligi played by Marina Costa-Jackson/Marjukka Tepponen, Dorabella by Ginger Costa-Jackson/Hanna Hipp, Ferrando by Ben Bliss/Tuomas Katajala, Craig Verm/Michael Adams as Guglielmo, Laura Tatulescu as Despina and Kevin Burdette as Alfonso. Paul Daniel will conduct.
February/March: The Seattle Opera premiere of Beatrice & Benedict in a new production and in English translation--or rather, an English version of the libretto using Shakespeare’s original language as much as possible. Beatrice will be played by Daniela Mack/Hanna Hipp, Benedict (if it’s in English, surely it should be Benedick, right?) by Alek Shrader/Andrew Owens. Laura Tatulescu as Hero, Avery Amereau as Ursule, Kevin Burdette as Somarone, Craig Verm as Claudio, and Daniel Sumegi as Don Pedro. Ludovic Morlot, music director of the Seattle Symphony makes his debut at last at the Seattle Opera in this production, as does John Langs, director of the ACT Theater as this production’s stage director.
May: Aida, with Leah Crocetto/Alexandra Lobianco in the title role, with Miljiana Nikolic/Elena Gabouri as Amneris, Brian Jagde/David Pomeroy as Radames, Gordon Hawkins/Alfred Walker as Amonasro, and for a third time this season, Daniel Sumegi as Ramfis. Conducing will be John Fiore, the production will be the recent one seen at San Francisco Opera, directed by Francesca Zambello; the first time one of Zambello’s productions has been seen in Seattle since the revival of Florencia en el Amazonas in 2005.
On the plus side: I love Beatrice et Benedict, and it will be good to finally see it  live. The production sounds interesting, and I’m very much in favor of Ludovic Morlot conducting Berlioz. The Jonathan Miller production of Cosi is a classic, and it will be good to see it again--it will be interesting hearing actual sisters playing Fiordiligi and Dorabella. Leah Crocetto is the debutant I am most excited about, followed by Daniela Mack and Maestro Morlot. On the minus side, I find it very hard to get enthused by Butterfly and Barber. Both of those works are done to death. I can see why the company puts them on--it’s cheaper to put on more famous operas, and they also put more butts in seats. But I don’t recognize the names in the cast--and there isn’t an announced name for the opening night Rosina. Only one 20th century opera and it’s Butterfly, which I’m not sure should even count.
For me, this is the least interesting Seattle Opera season since 2007-08, which was so boring to me that I let my subscription lapse.
I don’t think I’ll do that in this case--the Berlioz and Mozart works should be fantastic, the Verdi should have some good singing, and who knows, maybe the staging for Puccini and Rossini will be interesting? At least the conducting for those two works are in good hands.

Vu du Parc Knole, à 22h27 (heure de Londres), la lune gibbeuse croissante dominait le ciel étoilé et les sept chênes du parc. Le corps de John tomba à terre et James se mit à ses pieds. A pleurer.
Any wlw romance books you know of?
I’m afraid my list is going to be pretty short since most of the books I’ve read with lesbian romances are usually not the main story. So I may have to hand off some recommendations to my followers! But here’s what I have so far:
Alyssa Cole has a wlw novella in her Reluctant Royals series called Once Ghosted, Twice Shy. I haven’t read it yet, but it’s on my list.
The main romance in Competence by Gail Carriager is also wlw steampunk. This the third book in The Custard Protocol series which is the sequel series to the Parasol Protectorate that features side queer romances in later books. (So much investment, I know!) The main character in the Parasol Protectorate Alexia is bisexual and Madame LeFoux, a lesbian, is one of the main characters. Her romance is featured in a sides series called Romancing the Inventor.
Her Royal Highness by Rachel Hawkins is contemporary YA wlw romance. Also haven’t read this yet, but I’ve heard good things.
The Lady’s Guide to Celestial Mechanics is a historical romance that comes out later this month, but it sounds amazing!!
