With Itsuki busy, Winnie went around and tried to make a good impression with some of his coworkers. She and Emiko definitely hit it off!

After she finally recovered, they talked about the different things she needed to know about living in Mt. Komorebi - from the customs and foods to the different festivals they have.
Ariella: Of course, the main thing people come to see is the mountain itself! Not many people climb it but it’s normally packed with skiers and snowboarders. Are you interested in extreme sports?
Winnie: We don’t have many mountains in the city...but I’d love to try! I think snowboarding looks really fun!
Mina: *chuckles* As long as you don’t trip yourself down the mountain, we should be good!

Once Hayato and Mina arrived home, it was already time for dinner - tonight, it was a sukiyaki hotpot! After finding out that this meal wasn’t going to catch her mouth on fire, Winnie eagerly dug in...and realized she had no clue how to use the chopsticks she was given! 😂

With Mina and Hayato at work, Ariella invited Winnie up to her office if she needed anything - even if it was just company and after awhile of nervous pacing for her interview tomorrow, Winnie took her up on her offer.

As they chatted, with Ariella and Mina taking turns translating Hayato for everybody, she got to know not only Mina’s parents, but somehow, Mina even more so. Eventually, though, Ariella and Hayato began collecting their things.
Ariella: Well, we’d probably should get going soon if we’re going to make our reservation. We wanted to take Mina as well as Nick to dinner, and get to know him better.
Winnie: Nick?
Mina: I don’t know why they’re so interested in getting to know my friends but I guess you’re invited too, Winnie, if you’d like.

Excitedly taking the empty seat in front of them, Winnie bowed her head and respectfully introduced herself the way Mina had taught her. Mina’s mother’s face lit up as she bowed in response.
Ariella: Hayato and I were hoping we’d get to meet some of Mina’s friends on our visit! We were just supposed to come in for the graduation ceremony but it’s just been too long!
Winnie: I totally understand and my parents are only an hour away! I couldn’t imagine a whole other country...
She hadn’t thought about that before. That job opportunity in Mt. Komorebi seemed a lot less appealing all of a sudden.

Meanwhile, in the upstairs office, Hayato and Ariella discussed their new houseguest. Being a travel writer, Ariella could remember how she felt the first time she left home for a whole new country. On the other hand, Hayato was just glad to know that the person looking out for his daughter while she was away seemed to be a kind girl.
Ariella casually glanced out the window as they talked, just then noticing Winnie running around and splashing in puddles.
