Shoutout to Tumblr for breaking all AO3 RSS feeds on this goddamn hellsite.
If new feed items for @hitmanfanfics are taking way longer than usual, it's because I have to share new fics manually like some kind of cave person.... like a wild animal.
I'm sorry. There's nothing I can do to fix this. We'll have to wait for Tumblr to wake up and realise that literally not a single fandom has an actually working RSS feed anymore.

I feel like I decorate my tumblr blog theme for fun because I can't visit my site unless I use a VPN which is really weird.
#I can visit any other blog just fine. it's just my own blog that I have issues visiting#I had to check the SSL but everything says there are no issues. so i guess it's either a tumblr problem or my country blocked my blog or#something lol (unlikely)#I actually cared about it when I was painstakingly working with replacing the japanese RSS feeds with my own RSS feeds to my ukagaka#and I couldn't add my tumblr RSS feed bcs I can't visit my own blog lol. idk if anyone has this problem too#I've already contacted tumblr support today so hopefully i hear from them#I'm genuinely so confused and a bit distressed about all this#it's been like this for months lol. I am having fun with custom themes tho lol#I have an ao3 theme :3

trying to be ~intentional with my time online~ and putting everything I think is worth reading onto RSS feeds to focus less on endless scrolling. so many sites nowadays have forgotten the art of a good RSS feed. I stopped using spotify for podcasts last year when I needed a podcast app with an RSS feed but now I’m also going for text based!

Hello, sorry it took a while to answer! I'm now using Zapier for this feed.
He's a link to the template, so you don't waste time creating yours :)
NB: given the popularity of your tag, i have to warn you the free version of Zapier has a limit of 100 "tasks" per month
Here's an article with alternative websites.
Pabbly is also limited to 100 tasks/month, so not worth it imo
Make has a limit of 1,000 tasks/month. 2 active workflows
Parabola doesn't have Tumblr integration
Pipedream, same as Parabola, but it's more coding-oriented so you can try to create the integration yourself (rip to my below beginner brain).
100 tasks/day and 3,000/month.
5 workflows.
Most of them don't suit my other 3 "niche" feeds' needs… I'm still trying to find a website that includes filtering in the free version :⎜

#i think that if you wanna post your fic/writing to ao3 then post it there#same if you want to post stuff to twitter or insta#it's really all for attracting attention#but i think something that people need to understand is that those spaces are not really radical or community oriented#and I think we need to be realistic about them#a personal issue i definitely have with ao3 supporters is the rhetoric they use about the platform#as if it's a radical space when no not really lol#but if you wanna give it money go hog but don't lie about what it really is to convince other people to do so as well#it has the same vibe as people saying we have to give tumblr money to save it lol no you don't#it's just another place that has capitalized on how a lot of people don't know how to build their own online space#it banks on people not knowing how to built their own websites#or set up an RSS feed#or seek out actual community#and really if you have a problem with ao3 just post your stuff elsewhere#yeah it sucks that all that stuff is on it#but it's also on twitter and facebook etc (like what smarter people than me have pointed out)#ao3 is just another example that there is something just... wrong with the internet under capitalism#I built my own website out of love for my art and spite towards platforms#we can create our own good vibes#we are not as trapped as people make us out to be#🐞

So, if anyone uses ifttt to post ao3 feed items to tumblr, you may have had issues where it’s either not working (legacy/applet turns off) or just doesn’t post the same (cut off, no longer see tags). I was in the same boat and frankly annoyed with the cut info. I want to see the tags before I click the link. So did a little searching and found a different integration service, Pabbly.
I’m trying it out on a personal blog right now (different feeds for ships I like) and so far so good. I’m getting all the info I want from the feed. I’m having a slight hiccup with one, but I think that’s on fault of the author doing something weird in the title and screwing up the feed formatting. Unfortunately it’s a slow ship so I won’t know until a new work is posted. (And if ever there was motivation to write, there it is.)
Anyway, just wanted to toss that out there. If anyone wants more info or a tutorial (there’s a decent one on youtube or I can just post what I did here) let me know.
