OK SO I'VE WATCHED EPISODES 7 AND 8 OF SEASON 2 OF TOTAL DRAMA 2023

SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT AS ALWAYS!!!

So we got our first big gen 1 cameo! That and official canonisation of Owen's win! It was one of the season wins that had a clear better winner but a confirmation is nice! I feel like it fucks the timeline up since they just. reused Owen's design from TDI again. Im not looking into it

The challenges were really fun! I liked how the cooking challenge wasn't all athletisism, and while they've already done a human pinball challenge back in WT, this one was different enough that i didn't care all that much.

I think Damien is the most 6/10 contestant so far? Like he's nice and stuff but he doesn't grab me. Maybe the immunity idol thing can make him more interesting to me? Hope they do something with that! Oh, and Wayne or Raj are SOOOO getting the boot soon. They don't have much to do outside of comic relief and they're not invested in the current drama. Personally i'd prefer if Wayne got the boot over Raj? That or they don't get booted one episode after another. I want interesting conflict damnit!

ok fine i'll get it out of the way: i DONT care for Priyaleb. Like WOW THEY'RE PREDICTABLE. MOVE OUT OF THE WAY ZOKE, PRIYALEB IS THE NEW STANDARD FOR "STRAIGHT SHIP FOR STRAIGHT PEOPLE"! transitionning to the eliminations, Ripaxel getting double elim because "haha gross ass couple" was predictable. I litterally called it twice in a row, they were gonna get eliminated for it and they did! I do think they were great and Ripaxel has legit won me over, sorry, i love Ripper being a gross idiot and Axel liking him for it. They were funny.

more on education&work—lack of agency & denial of expression of children in education.

something else about education is that you really get used to not being heard. and, in a parallel way, you get used to not listening. people don't want to keep listening to you talk about how exhausting and underfunded and underresourced things are, and that is deeply fair of them to react that way, but also you keep having those feelings, because you are just constantly exhausted and underfunded and underresourced. but then, the kids are having those feelings too. you're making them do unchildlike things day in and day out and you hear it so much that you forget to listen to what you are constantly hearing. so a school district hears that its not supporting its teachers and students and staff so often that it stops listening. and everyone around teachers hears that teachers arent being resourced or funded and its such a constant hum they have to stop listening. and teachers hear that students are tired and dont want to work and hate school so much that they wont listen anymore. its this big cycle and something that's actually really nice is that... it does help to break it. when you listen to a kid they glow about it and try harder—but not in the way that makes them inauthentic! like today a kid who doesnt engage much shared a language thing when they "shouldn't" have (don't talk while teacher is talking etc) and they were so excited to share, so i engaged, so they loved it, so they engaged more, so they learned some stuff and had a good time. like... you dont quash the excitement and the interest, even if—especially if!—it is inconvenient.

districts and those that fund education should be able to do that too. educators can be so inconvenient—teachers really are the worst people; you have this group of cats who have created their own little realms where they are in charge and then you try to tell them what to do and act confused when they're like "bitch, and you are?" like yes. our educational structure sucks absolute ass, it sucks that we're putting One Adult In Charge like this, it's NOT a good system. but dont be SURPRISED by that, please. you (districts/governments/societies/funding structures) CREATED and/or SUSTAIN this structure for education, and then to be like "omg why do teachers get so offended" um because you don't ever make us work together for REAL. you just SUSTAIN the shitty individualistic adult-as-authority cycle. SO few can coteach (imagine........ having another qualified person, or multiple other qualified people in the room with you??????? mindbending) and if they do coteach they still have separate realms generally (like a sped teacher pushing into gen ed, or two teachers taking a difficult class and one "goes high" and the other "goes low"). just—to go back to my point. if you find something educators are EXCITED about, encourage them and listen!!!!!! even if they are yelling at the "wrong time." they're yelling for a reason. im yelling about how kids are getting really good at standing up for themselves. we should ENCOURAGE that. they can identify and put words onto things that older generations treated as taboo, like abuse and bullying and all forms of prejudice, racism and sexism and queerphobia and ableism— i mean, a kid once told me, word for word, that they were "having a mental health crisis." they used ALL of the right language. the kids are LISTENING to us. they are DOING IT BETTER THAN WE WERE.

and then teachers keep saying—why are the kids so DIFFERENT than they used to be? because kids are starting to want to take care of themselves, for once. they have learned how to say no. and it's wonderful. and it makes you change. and teachers are the rulers of their realms. and their realms cannot change according to the teacher-rulers. but the change is calling from inside the fucking classroom!!!!

breaking cycles is good. really listening is good. its overwhelming to not tune anything out. but if you tune things out, you dont break cycles.

DMD FTR: finale thoughts

i forgot to put this out because i've been in the process of being an employed adult human person these days, unfortunately (no one who saw my previous DMD FTR posts is surprised that i was unemployed). now i wont even get to have my weekly crisply shot and edited hang outs w Gen 3 besties while this new job is sucking my soul... but this was a pleasant finale to this sweet and chill and incredibly unsurprising show!

here's the thing: i dont even know who Domundi is trying to fool w this double win stuff cause they did literally announce the new gen would be acting in TWO (2) new series during their 2023 Line Up event???????

so the double win wasn't a surprise AT ALL but it's okay, it didnt really diminish my enjoyment out of the show at all. i wanted both couples to have series anyway!

as i've said in my first post about this show, it has been very obvious that this shows' intention isn't to be a competition, it's more of a new gen "inauguration". they could've just put the boys through bunch of workshops and let them choose partners off camera too but they chose to put money and time in to make it a whole show, so people could witness their journey and premature fan clubs would form and develop. i think its fun and clever marketing but did it work???

well, the boys def have more fans now BUT on the same day this episode was premiering, some ZNN fans were crying about their faves (who just had a movie come out, also filming a show rn AND scheduled to film another one after) being slighted by the company and they didn't need to "add more". like i said, i don't really follow Domundi closely, if the fans are right about artist management i might not know... but their Gen 2 was extremely successful after all and people are BEGGING for more series, so it's not a bad move for a company to want to grow. i wish fans would be more mature and learn more the industry the person they "stan" works in! why would a growing company would just make shows w 2 actors over and over man, cmon 😭

okay now that i got that out of me, back to the finale. some notes about the general:

the group performance of the theme song was a bit cringe to me bc i just hate that kind of music. but everyone's ending fairies were really cuteeeee so i forgive them

real winners of the episode is the background dancers because they literally did all the performances and acted too, very well!!

Domundi members and variety of industry people in the audience was sweet to see and added valuable comments/advice for the boys. i was especially happy to see Jimmy and Tommy, whom i ADORE!!!!

i was laughing at that LOUD ASS clapping and hollering track they kept playing to add some more noise to the audience's. like i know why they did it but how much that big sound didn't match w that small crowd just tickled me..

well, yeah, i cant get into idol-ing stuff personally so i was kind of bored during the solo performances. i dont really have comments that hasn't already been said by the judges. i thought all the boys did what they were supposed to do and showcased their talents, EXCEPT Latte........ my dude, what happened? i think he could've lip sync to the song, which IS a skill (Rupaul's Drag Race battles and just drag performances in general as evidence...) that would add a lot to his performance.

Firstone leaving the competition w Best Friendship & Best Performance Awards in his pocket and two guys wanting to be his partner. What a little star... Deserved and love his cocky attitude.

about couple jukebox musicals:

in my last episode commentary, i joked about Mandee getting inspired from my ideas but then they actually kinda happened lol🧐🧐🧐🧐 ThomasKong's performance was a coming of age, young love story while KengNamping's story was more complex romance w an angsty core, almost exactly like i wished for.

all in all, KengNamping's performance grabbed my attention the most. mostly because their acting & chemistry seemed improved to me (that kiss fake out at the end, what the hell??? you guys couldn't hold an eye contact couple eps ago...) AND their storyline just ATEEEE. i dont know who came up w the forbidden romance between kinda out of touch but well meaning rich boy & his "i suffer through love quietly" village boy bodyguard, w humour sprinkled in, but they need to get their ass eaten regularly...

ThomasKong don't even need to try that hard, they are just natural born charmers!!!! i liked their friends to lovers, nerdy guy cant believe popular one' love bc he doesnt see his value storyline (Thomas could've busted out One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful"). With the romantic prom climax, it reminded me of American high school movies and fit their vibes perfectly. i wish it was more humorous, because i think comedy is one of their strong suits. like how did it ended up that shy kings KengNamping got more laughs than ThomasKong, the goofballs themselves??? whoever is writing their series, please take notes, now that i know you are reading these...

after the glorious double win and the cute four-way hug, Aof said that two shows would be announced this year which clearly meant that most we are getting this year are pilot trailers. which is fine. not easy to be patient but i get that they are a smaller company w lots on their plates already. i hope they will use that time to work and work and work on the shows!!!!

i honestly want Domundi to kind of change up things in their filmmaking/producing styles, maybe switch directors sometimes and try diffferent styles idk... this show and Gen 3 in general felt very refreshing and i hope they keep that vibe going! and maybe i will finally watch a Domundi show till the last episode.

P.S.: Extra clips were released this week and KengNamping's was sweet. i was kinda laughing at how much of a set up it was like, them conveniently sharing a blanket, all mic'd up, getting filmed w lights on etc. but their conversation and mood in the moment seemed sincere, which is enough. it was nice to see the context for ep 5, when they found each other at the other end of the red ribbon and said that so much happened on that bridge. what a perfect circle moment, from comforting each other about not winning a challenge to winning the show!

-Danny phantom, my fandom experience here have just been jolly and the people of the fandom were so fucking nice and chill. to sum it up, the fandom is fucking golden and people is honestly just very fucking nice there

A TIER

-ROTTMNT, surprisingly i have a good time here, people are so nice, but they know when people are being weird and called them out for it. generally very great fandom, TMNT fandom used to be infested with incest in your face, but now i see them less with tcester finally not fucking shoving it up in minor dominating fandom spaces and tagging their content.

-Current OKKO fandom, the fandom is now genuinely very very nice now not many people in there, people are chill. luv you fellow boxven enjoyer.

-Deltarune, they are chiller than undertale

-mao mao, the fandom were filled so many people who is so nice, luv ya mao mao fandom. although, theres a few bad apple like all fandom but people usually quick to spot and stop them.

-Unikittay! silly of the silliest, although please stop shipping a comfirmed children with grown ass men

also while i'm at it if i had the chance to grab the pokemon franchise and rewrite a likely more game-based manga in my brain since i genuinely really hate the fact that the mc is way too often the male protag/i dont like how they handle female characters this is how id go

GEN 1. Red is the obvious protag. Yellow is also there because as I said, she's very neat. maybe she has a sevii island arc or smth. Blue is unfortunately also there but as Yellow's rival, just like Green is Red's.

GEN 2. Gold, Lyra AND Kris are the protags. Gold does the Ho-Oh thing, becomes Champion and defeats Red but it's very implied that Lyra didn't just because she had better things to do. Lyra does the Lugia thing and also the Arceus event, Kris just gives up to take care of the Miltanks. all three of them partecipate to the Celebi event also. Silver is also there being sad and partecipates to the Radio Tower attack tho

GEN 3. Sapphire is the protag because i think Ruby sucks ass

GEN 4. Diamond, Pearl AND Platina are the main protagonists because they all represent the three funny little gods. Platina is a lil more important bc she's connected to Giratina tho

GEN 5. White is the main protagonist and chosen as N's rival but Black has smth to do with Keldeo and the gang idk. BlaTwo is the protag of BW2

GEN 6. Serena is the protag because i think Calem sucks ass

GEN 7. Both Elio and Selene are protagonists and also twins. Elio becomes Champion and deals with the UBs with Looker while Selene beats up the Rainbow Rocket. USUM doesn't exist but Rainbow Rocket is there also tho

GEN 8. Gloria, Victor and Hop are protagonists. Victor and Hop defeat Eternatus, Gloria becomes Champion tho; Gloria deals with the Armor Isle arc, Victor with the Crown Tundra, Hop with the shitty twins

GEN 9. My Oc with Miraidon and nox' Oc with Koraidon are the protagonists and the Uva and Naraja academy are united in one and work together. i say this because literally nobody gives a shit about the basic protagonists of gen 9. also they're both girls

Or name in general, you don’t have to do a fully fleshed out backstory for them. Orrr, what’s your favourite thing about being on the internet or being in a fandom?

i... to no ones surprise, reaaally like steven. glitchys up there, but i think his og pokepasta sort of sucks ( which is not an unpopular opinion ), but strangled red ( specifically strangled red, strangled and doors open are... neat, but sort of badly written and way more stereotypical ) is just... mwah. chefs kiss. stories about grief and abt a depressive spiral that gets worse and worse AND you get to see how he was like before it? soo good. you can argue the missingno plotline in it was unnecessary which i could agree but i think its just cool more than anything else, esp since most pokepastas based on gen 1 use it or other glitches in the 1st gens for horror a lot, which i think is interesting. missingno can be many things!

i like to think logically that glitches and stuff in game prob exist in the pokemon universe as well, since... well.. pokemon can be turned into data. you put them into the pc. missingno likely just exists and is a heavily corrupted pokemon that is not supposed to be there, or a glitch that the pc or something made real.

therefore, miki probably was "healed" because missingno "filled" her "missing data" or something like that, but i like to keep it more vague and ambiguous too. you can do a lot with strangled red and steven, miki, and mike too which just intrigues me. once again read lessons in guilt and grief and faulty on ao3. they explore this and steven, mike, ( and daisy who doesnt get enough attention ) in a way i 100% agree with and enjoy .

as for other characters i obviously enjoy glitchy but i much more enjoy the like... post-fnflull version of him cuz' in his original popularity he was just sort of prettyboy red who was also a creepypasta but ppl barely drew him like he was one ( i like fnf lulls interp bc of how his body constantly stutters and how when hes irate his mouth just stretches and shit like that. gmod ragdoll with broken physics ass mf ). also as said before his pokepastas sort of forgettable but i do like the concept of a red stuck in a game self aware bc im allll for that shit. i am an IHNMBIMS fan, i love AM, i love self aware AIs that feel trapped and take it out on every1 else or cope with it in Some Way... very interesting concept, idk.

honorable mentions for pokepastas that ppl prob know that i do not talk abt a lot that i like the writing or concepts for are DISABLED and Hell Bell.

hell bell you could argue has a stereotypical 'pasta ending of "ooooh you die in the game you die for real" but idk i eat up the way they did it in hell bell bc the person doesnt die but they sort of do since nobody can see em anymore ( iirc, i hvent read it in a bit ). also uses gen 4 which as someone who started mainline games with diamond and pearl respectively, i enjoy that a lot.

for DISABLED, its not super deep or scary or anything ( ok well its scary for the narrator obviously ) but its another one that just sorta makes me feel bad in all the right ways.

i have concepts for pokepasta aus of my ocs and some side characters but they arent pokepastas theyre just like... ppl who live in the world ( of fnf lull usually since i like to think everything there is connected and coexists somehow ), but i am not original to save my life so i dont think id make an actual pokepasta anytime soon, lol. the closest i got was making a super horrible choose your own adventure where you played as a cubone on deviantart when i was like idk 9

as for internet and fandom stuff, i dont associate myself w fandoms or fandom terminology and unironically i just start to call myself an "enjoyer" of things, bc i dont like being associated w anything... fandom oriented a lot of the time anymore. a lot of fanonization of characters also sucks. i do think the pokepasta fandom has some funny fanonizations though. like yes dilfify that man ( @ steven )

also esp for pokepastas bc i have Hyperfixation Shame. its why i have a sideblog for it, both so it has a concentrated place to go and so no one knows i like it enough to write abt it lol

I couldn't get into Reborn because the new update was so much easier compared to last time I played or at least have an options that player can choose an easy normal mode or the same difficult normal mode we've had

Sooo, there's a comment on the thread I posted that reads very similar to this, even misspelling "intense" mode as "insane". Of course, there's always the chance this is just another person (probably from rejuv-gen) who decided to waddle their way here and throw this at me. Regardless, I'm going to pretend this is the same person so that I can vent out my extreme frustration with people.

i wasnt super close up and my camera sucks absolute ass and also i was so excited for skz i literally just forgot to film anything except maniac but. quick music bank recap:

nmixx were so fuckin cute i loved them, they did love me like this, o.o and young dumb stupid. they seemed really nervous at first but got more confident when they saw how many people responded to their songs.

mamamoo was amazing as always, like i know people say this all the time but they are such amazing singers but also they are just great live performers. like it was a venue full of 40k mostly 4th gen bg stans (and lbr mamamoo kinda make music for 30sth women who are single on purpose) but they managed to deliver something that connected with the crowd in 4 songs.

there was a special stage of nmixx doing TT and p1harmony did 2 baddies which was so fucking funny, and then them and cravity did that that by psy which was also really fun bc it got the hall going so much

enha had a little polaroid special stage and solar from mamamoo sang the ratatouille song 😭 and the boyz also sang one of their OSTs

i saw both ive and enhypen last year for kpop flex too and both of the groups have improved SO much when performing like this, like the nerves were wayyy less noticeable. ive did kitsch and all their titles and another song. enha really developed stage presence since then and also a big fanbase in france it seems..

skz were last up and the DIFFERENCE in noise… truly most people were there for skz and u did notice… highlights were mostly hyunjin being INSANELY happy, like i know he always gets excited on stage but it seemed like another level today. the venue cameraperson fuckin loooved jisung which i’m obviously never mad at. changbin looked AMAZING and so did chan like i dont say this lightly but stuling was goood today. felix tried to say a few words in french at the beginning and just forgot them, he did not get his sentence out but it was soso cute. hyunjin was the bounciest happiest little slinky and genuinely did not want to leave either time they got off stage.

they started with 143 then maniac then gods menu (people went IN.SANE) and then miroh and is2g the ground was shaking when they did miroh, jisung hyped everyone into the ‘stray kid hoo’ and that was insane too. miroh energy was crazy and it was the best end to such a fun concert

standouts were definitely mamamoo and skz, the boyz and ab6ix were a close second imo, the rest of them were really fun too and there were a lot of engenes so enhypen had an extra energy boost too but yeah they didnt grip me as much, but tbh i’m just always a bit underwhelmed by them so it might just be bias.

We both know I can’t not talk about my opinions, and any subjective ranking should go in depth about the nuances rather than stand on its own so I know why the other person is being so wrong. And good tier list video has to be at least three hours long, and any good tier list post should be borderline unreadable.

You're right about Vulpix and Kadabra and you should say it. Now it does get a little disappointing when, in gens 8 and 9, there are things in the boxes. I dont know what those are but they certainly aren't Pokemon, Pokemon ended at gen 7... so a little odd but it's okay. Braixen SHOULD be Psychic type WTH? And RIP”

Kadabra’s just cooler, and Vulpix is slightly cuter depending on my mood, though I do love Ninetales too. I don’t know why Pokemon decided to stop giving middle-stages the secondary type. They did it in Gens 3 and 4, and I think Pignite in 5? But then they just. Stopped. For no reason. And it sucks. Let Middle Stage evolutions be cool again, goddammit.

Also I know you are salty about the gens 8 and 9, but you look at Hisuian Typhlosion and tell me that isn’t a cool thing. And I know damn well you are an Iron Valiant fan. They have good designs.

finished pokemon violet. i am in Shambles in best way possible

major spoilers below! also its super long i have a lot to say

if its not obvious gen 5 is my favorite gen, for all the reasons most people hype it as the best gen. and i agree it totally is the best gen!

i gotta say sv is my second favorite now. it was just. Hough. aside from the obvious ways this game actually sucks, all the glitches and lagging and all that. what the game does well, it does REALLY well.

getting some gripes out of the way first. as good as the story was, nemona really got the short end of the stick here?? this didnt make me like her any less, i love her just as much as penny and arven, but just. unlike penny and arven she doesnt have as much story. she finds a good rival in you the protag and thats kind of it??

i do like sv's art style its nice the game was very pretty but. i do prefer the swsh art style HWJBDHF. i played sword for a bit two days ago to battle a friend and i just missed it. wouldnt mind if this was the style going forward but also want the old one back yknow

taking away the shiny sound is Stupid. i encountered a shiny voltorb and almost went past it because i was jumping and was going so fast i barely saw it in the bottom of the screen. i also tried the mass outbreak strategy today on a mimikyu outbreak, thought i found a shiny because a mimikyu looked grey, but it was just sitting in some shadows.

WHERE ARE THE CLOTHING OPTIONS...... was the school uniform only rule just an excuse to make less clothing options. i'm in hell man. thank god i picked violet i didnt like the orange on the outfits in scarlet.

the whole choose your own path thing they pushed as a selling point is kinda moot if the levels dont scale. also put me in a STUPID situation: for the water gym, you travel across the desert to another town, and that desert has a titan in it. so i thought hey, if these paths converge, surely its because its the next intended stop, right? iron treads wiping almost my whole team in its first phase probably isnt a sign that i'm not supposed to be here, right?? arven sent out a level 44 scovillain while i could only contribute Intimidate from my lv 22 staravia. i ended up using a guide to show me the "correct" path near the end, which was good bc i asked the pokemon center lady for my next destination and she told me to go fight Grusha and his lv 45 or so pokemon while my team was still in the 30s. thanks nurse joy for trying to get my ass kicked

onto everything i Did like though

i really loved this cast of characters!! all of them felt very unique i got attached to a lot almost instantly. i didnt think i'd like clavell all that much but oh my god he's so brilliant actually. arven stole the show though houghguhguhgu i cried THREE times because of this dude. will also say i ADORE grusha, rika and iono, and extra shoutout to that one greavard in the ryme fight. he was GROOVIN

i think the open world was handled Very well. traversal is a little awkward at times, miraidon sometimes doesnt cling to cliffs i jump on and said jumping can be clunky, but other than that, i thought the environments were very pretty (especially liked the gen 1 icon mosaics in that one town thats so cute). as someone who gets overwhelmed by open world games it also wasnt as overwhelming as others have been? i think i saw some people saying it wasnt enough, and i can see why they'd think so but if the map was any bigger i think i personally would have enjoyed it less haha.

noticed some altered pokemon animations which is small but very nice! i remember seeing it on lucario, gardevoir and the eeveelutions where they stand in more of a battle ready pose rather than. Just Standing There.

the pokemon designs were pretty hit or miss for me this gen but maybe i just need some time to warm up to them. but i do ADORE the future forms. hydreigon and volcarona look SO sick, i love how iron valiant mixes both gallade and gardevoir, and i just think its funny that they also included. Delibird. inbetween all these other powerful pokemon. havent seen any of the scarlet versions though i'll look them up later

i dont know if its true but it feels like theres a lot more Unique things about pokemon in this gen, like forms, moves and abilities? like maushold's and tatsugiri's forms, lots of evos got given to older pokemon. when eri sent out an annihilape i was STUNNED. i also appreciate the fact that all forms of a pokemon get a different dex entry. i want to try collecting all colors of flabebe and its evos for example, i somehow feel more rewarded when i get a new dex entry every time, even if it is kinda the same thing but rephrased.

ok now just. the STORY. i'm still an absolute mess over the ending i just. AUGH. i havent played a pokemon game spoiler free for so long, i did accidentally find out cassiopeia was penny a bit too early but it was late enough that i was connecting the dots already. but the ACTUAL ending with turo holy shit???? turo's message glitching at the fourth lock was creepy as hell. finding him slumped in that chair, him telling you the real turo is DEAD and what you've been talking to this whole time, what ARVEN resented for all this time, was an ai that just couldn't physically leave area zero? then the whole FIGHT with him, the way that textbox glitched out when the paradise protection protocol took over, him actually starting to terastallize himself was so??? being forced to leave as well even though he'd just reunited with arven, since he was tied to the time machine and part of why it would reboot every time it was disabled, but also because he still had the original turo's desire to study the future but had been trapped in area zero for so long. checking turo's lab before heading to the time machine shows theres a picture of arven and maschiff on the desk.... :(

(wondering how scarlet handled it actually. is sada also an ai? just assuming its different because the ai thing fits turo's futuristic stuff. i'll look it up sometime, i really wanna see how these cutscenes differ between versions)

ARVEN my god i. many thoughts head full. thought he was just gonna be the asshole rival but ohhh i was wrong. he's the guy ever. mabosstiff's recovery scene made me CRY, and then i just cried AGAIN at his meeting with ai turo. how old even is arven, how long has he just been. Alone. with no one but the miraidon he percieved as the one who destroyed his childhood, and the mabosstiff that was once his only true companion but couldn't even open its eyes anymore. crying over arven's story isnt enough i need to explode

arven's story was my favorite but i have to mention starfall street of course. i love all of team star so much it was so good going through and unravelling why team star does what they do. also team star boss battles were actually kinda difficult?? i was pretty underleveled through most of the game bc i was rushing a bit but WOW. i only won against eri because she Happened to use shift gears again despite near maxed stats already instead of just going for the kill.

anyway tldr. yes i understand this game is kinda garbage in that it was super rushed and glitchy and clearly unfinished on release but its just? the most fun i've had with a pokemon game in a while?? easily a top favorite of mine

i stopped playing right after the credits rolled, so if there's postgame, i dont know about it. i'll get around to it tomorrow

one extra thing i almost forgot actually! when explaining the time machine turo tells you a human could travel one way but is unable to return to the present. this is SO goddamn cruel of game freak to put in the game RIGHT AFTER POKEMON LEGENDS ARCEUS. maybe its different for people sent over by Gods, maybe arceus can circumvent this or smth, but since its the only time travel related crumb we have right now this is super distressing!!! are you telling me pla protag and ingo were on a one way trip this whole time!!!!!! fuck you put them back!!!!!!!!! finding out this lore tidbit on the same day some new pla art that includes ingo came out is so, so, SO mean

I DOO i have SO MANY because wc was my ENTIRE LIFE for like 6 years erm.. definitely will NOT remember them all but there were 3 main sets i remember?

the first set were basically my and my friends' wcrp ocs which i fleshed out (I SWEAR i redesigned some of them recently but i can't find them ANYWHERE.. if i find those sketches i'll send them). 2016 playground style larping, all fours and hissing and stuff. basically in like 2018 i took those ideas and made them more cohesive, so that's the set that has basically a whole story planned? i could write a fic/comic of it if i wanted to.

it took place in a unique territory with different clans - i think the lore i came up with was when skyclan was driven out some of the lost members branched out and formed different clans? i dont remember the names except crystalclan (which had a territory that was a mix of moorlands and marsh, and had a system similar to the tunnelers in tallstar's revenge). one of the clans was like flooded swamp, one was arid, and one was craggy/snowy, i think. ANYWAY. OLD AS BALLS art incoming.

icecloud was my MAIN GIRLIE !! i roleplayed her. she was pretty serious and ambitious (had a stick up her ass basically), but also level-headed and down-to-earth. redfeather was her apprentice, and she fucking DIED like a month after being made a warrior.

icecloud and i think.. oakclaw, sweetpaw, emeraldstorm, rosepelt and others i don't remember were like, the first gen? those five went on a quest as apprentices, anyway (starclan bullshit). oakclaw and sweetpaw were like kids in love, but then sweetpaw fucking DIED, and oakclaw sort of blamed starclan and the clan system for it.. um rosepelt was icecloud's medicine cat sister (who at some point changed clans because one of the clans lost all their medicine cats). and icecloud had feelings for oakclaw but never acted on them (though they did stay friends).

um later there was like a plot where this gang of rogues kept attacking? that was sort of second gen - redfeather existed then, as well as garnetpaw - an ex-kittypet/rogue gang member who joined crystalclan and was apprenticed to emeraldstorm before switching to medicine cat. the rouges killed redfeather, eventually their leader got killed and the rest of them came to an agreement.

ANYWAY. then there's like a whole thing where oakclaw is gathering kitties to make a revolution abolishing the clans' attachment to starclan (because starclan. kind of sucks to be honest). icecloud is like "what the fuck are you doing" and tries to reason with him um.. i think oakclaw became deputy because his leader liked him and something something dark forest??

anyway big final battle blah blah. oakclaw (who is not really evil [or entirely wrong] just misguided) is like "oh shit wait i didnt mean for people to DIE over this" and gets wounded in battle but icecloud helps him call off the fight and he dies from blood loss and that's about it.

ROUND 2 !! aka the REALLY EDGY one um this is morrelnight she was a norweigan forest cat and was thunderclan. she was short-tempered and sharp, but competent and intelligent. and self-righteous/a little narcissistic.

erm basically she had a sister called quailspot who took credit for all her achievements and had an inferiority complex, or something? and also like a dark forest mentor who convinced her starclan were bad because they drove him out and like fuelled her downward spiral/dislike for her sister (i think he was also predatory?? and i did not know about grooming at the time, so i do not know where that even came from)

i think a lot of the main conflict was because the other clans thought thunderclan was stealing their kits (i think it was actually rouges or something i dont remember). blah blah prophecy and lots of battles warriors nonsense. morrelnight and quailspot had a crush on the same guy, he chooses quailspot, quailspot has babies, morrelnight gets an apprentice that was going to go to quailspot pre-pregnancy, whatever.

i am pretty sure dark forest guy convinced morrelnight to kill her sister's kids but she pussied out of it..? morrelnight becomes deputy at some point, uhh they find out the rogues stole the babies. dark forest keeps recruited kitties and kills one and morrelnight realises oh cat hell guy is a terrible person actually. i think they fought and she killed him in self-defence?

uhh big final battle against the rogues where i think morrelnight sacrificed herself to take out their leader to atone or something? damn i really liked self-sacrifice, huh.

ANYWAY the last set was a story with CATS THAT WEREN'T NAMED. but i had an animatic planned in my head to defying gravity - basically two kitties (either besties or lesbians??) who got caught up in this whole rebels vs authority thing where some of the clans were conquering each other/uniting and others were fighting back. i don't know. the fight scenes in my head were fire though.

and then i had like a hundred random ocs i drew once or twice and never came back to again.. BUT YEAH those were my warriors ocs. if i end up making more they will likely be.. much less edgy. OR i might revamp the first set, because i do think there's actually potential there for a cool story.

Ah this is gon sound so pathetic and I know I'm partially this hype about him cause it's become something me and R mutually enjoy but I wish I coulda met him. I won't lie to me his music isn't so so groundbreaking as some make it out to be imo. But even with that.. I dunno. It was nice to hear something negative about drugs for once you know? A lot of artists I listen to that talk about that sort of thing make it like its a flex. Not to say he doesn't lmao. But I like that I can listen to one song about him acting like codeine is the most amazing substance ever known to man but within the next song acknowledge that his addiction is a problem even with it feeling like its helping.

Plus, I appreciate the variety in his sound. I feel there's this weird.. standard? i dunno. Im used to the sad songs always having to be slow and traditional instruments and all that. I like that I can jump into a slow song about him thinking about his past and then the next I can go into a hype song about him needing to change before its too late

I'm not religious atp and maybe I just haven't found the religion that speaks to me. But if the Christians were right about there being a second world where everyone just chills for the rest of eternity, I hope I can see him there. His songs mean a lot to me now. Some of being small, some of it being a huge part of me now, but overall I just wish I could give him my words of appreciation

Shit makes me really sad. I wish he would've had more time in the spotlight. He's still a household name anyway but it sucks that he can't see just how big he is nowadays

ah see this is why I never talk about why I like Juice cause everytime I do I circle back to him going too soon and I tear up. I'm glad he got to live a cushy life for a little bit at least. I know he got hella money just from Lucid Dreams alone

Edit: I ended up coming across this picture and it made the choice obvious. I feel like I don't have too too many pictures of him cheesing so it's always stood out to me. I remember at the time I didn't even like land of darkness like that but I kept listening to it cause the picture was so sweet. Dude looked hella happy :)
