do you ever think about a potential ending where lu guang is dead and cheng xiaoshi goes through all the photos they have together just to feel like he's not gone. to spend just a few more moments together. but each photo can only be entered once and eventually there's none left and he has to accept that lu guang is Gone.

or what if they never had any photos together. what if that was an unspoken rule between them. so when lu guang is gone cheng xiaoshi can do nothing.

and they had bunkbeds. it's always strange losing someone when you're so used to having them sleeping in the same room as you. everything feels quiet. too empty. too big of a space for just cheng xiaoshi and qiao ling.

thats like. chefs kiss angst level. cause I think cxs would obviously try to preserve the memories that he has and gain more in the remaining ones, if any, that he has. that kind of ties to a paradox theory—what if cheng xiaoshi took photos in the photo and then preserved them? and then jumped back in time [in a photo in a photo]—would that work? I keep thinking about that one lc comic I saw a while ago that begins with shiguang having a normal day, and lg is oblivious to the odd way cxs is acting.. and his golden eyes. yet he's not really There he's only catching glimpses of his memory and even that is a ticking clock. I think he'd be gripped by that fear and desperation, knowing that he's selfishly using up whatever he has left just for one more moment of peace? calmness? normalcy? with the one that he feels connected to. but I think it'd be character of cheng xiaoshi to fight with whatever he has, tooth and nail, whatever it takes to bring lu guang back to him. disregard lg's rules because he just cannot accept that he's beyong the realm of saving.

I think they would have a few photos since cheng xiaoshi has (canonically? atleast in the shorts... but that's not exactly canon) taken photos of lg before but. I like the way you think. imagining cxs absolutely hopeless., knowing that nothing he can do in the present world can change the fate of lu guang's death. ough. because it's always worst when theres nothing to do. there's nothing more hopeless than knowing a definite fact and having the knowledge that there was AND IS nothing that could alter it. maybe he could convince himself that "it's for the better" if he acted (no matter how rashly) on the small glimmer of hope to restoring lu guang, to restore his memory, to restore the person that he knew. maybe, he could tell himself enough times that lu guang isn't completely gone, there was still some way to capture the "lu guang" he knew, and then do something about it. but all he can do it to settle with his own futile memories , that crack as time goes on.

your last line holy shit that was poetic as hell. thinking about that... how cheng xiaoshi would need to get himself used to the way that it used to be Before Lu Guang. and finding himself absolutely unused to dealing with a silence beside him. because there's a blankness where the 'silence' used to be, you know? it might've been fine with ql in the past, but then again, there's something missing that even his childhood friend can't fill.

honestly i think if i had any complaint about the sandman tv show it's that they didnt make dream grim enough. like you have to understand this is a guy with a perpetual dark cloud over his head, there's a shadow over his eyes at all times no matter the lighting, he just exudes doom and gloom in an odd supernatural sort of way

and it's not even just a stylistic thing! just look at the difference here between death and dream. death's skin has saturation, she wears her sigil as a necklace so it blends in with the rest of her outfit, and she altogether passes as human

dream sticks out like a sore thumb next to her because unlike her, he's not even trying to look human. he's still unnaturally paper white and his eyes are always shrouded. he doesn't look like a real person, he looks like the imitation of one. and as good of a job as tom sturridge does as dream, it just isn't the same because he looks too much like a regular person. and that doesn't sell the idea of dream as an inhuman being quite as well

I don’t think the point is to say “incest is morally fine” because we’re talking about fiction. Fictional weird kinks are fine. Because it’s… made up. It’s no more morally icky than, idk, Godzilla smashing a building with his tail that had 5K office workers inside it. No one is saying monster movies are normalizing mass terrorism. So are you genuinely implying that fictional incest is… normalizing irl incest?

My impression is that the whole point of AO3 is it’s self policing. If you don’t like it - don’t look for that tag or block that tag. It’s just that simple. The internet is not for children and should not be sanitized down to child standards. If you’re not capable of curate ur own experience on the internet then that’s an issue. Tools like AO3 are for that. Curating ur own experience. Freedom and all that jazz.

Hey! I recently found this page and it’s awesome to find such a nicely handled Intersex support page for once!

I’m Intersex with AIS, therefore i’m genetically male (XY) but AFAB since my condition didn’t really show itself until I hit puberty.

My question is mainly: is it wrong if I, an Intersex person, label myself as ”Cisgender Non-Binary”? When I tell Endosex people about me being Intersex, their reaction is usually ”Oh so you’re basically Cis-Enby?”.

Technically my body is in a way Non-Binary, so is it wrong if I call myself Cis-Enby?

Hi anon!

There's really no rules when it comes to our personal identities. If that's a label that resonates with you and feels like a helpful way to communicate your gender and intersex identity to other people, then there's no reason why you can't use that for yourself.

I would probably caution against using that terminology as a generalization to talk about all intersex people or all of our bodies, because I know that a lot of intersex people do feel frustrated by being called cis, or that our bodies are nonbinary. I personally get sort of frustrated when endosex people say that my body is nonbinary, because I feel like it's sort of a misunderstanding on their part about how sex works, how intersex variations work, and the way I interpret my gender. But that's just my feelings about my own body and gender and doesn't mean that there's something wrong with using that language for yourself.

If you couldn’t tell which film I was gonna write about, it’s before sunrise. Which I absolutely love. Do I beg future English teacher not to hate me or choose something else.

I think as long as you include 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 evidence you'll be fine? I refuse to believe that just because you write more than a scene they would discredit the entire thing. Especially if you write it because you are way too good at writing for that
