9-1-1 Lone Star Platonic Pairings Event
Hello! @bonheur-cafe & I are excited to kick off the 9-1-1 Lone Star Platonic Pairings Event! What better time than the month of love to celebrate the friendships of the 126 and beyond.
We invite everyone who would like to participate to create something lovely in celebration of the beautiful friendships on this show! Any medium is welcomed; fanfic, fan art, gifsets, metas etc. Any and all pairings are welcome, you can feature a canon-established friendship or you can explore a pairing that hasn’t had much screen time but you’d like to see teamed up. Your work can include a couple + friend, two couples, no couples… whatever you wanna do as long as the focus is on the friendships.
This event will go from February 1st - March 31st, however folks can keep creating for as long as they would like. We’d love to see some platonic love around Valentine’s Day 🥰
Please use the tag #911 Lone Star Platonic Pairings when posting your work to ao3 and/or tumblr and we will reblog. We will share a master list of all the art created for the event in April.
We’ve provided a list of prompts below the cut for inspiration. Please feel free to use any of the prompts, solo or a combination, or none of the prompts. We can’t wait to see what you create!

Nancy moves away to university and meets her best friend along the way. A path of self-discovery and the beauty of friendship.

Nancy flopped onto her new, laughably small bed with a purple sheet set and comforter.
“Thanks for coming and helping me haul my shit up three flights of stairs steps,” Nancy said. She sat up and turned to her sister, Shelby, who was leaning up against the bed frame.. “I wish Mom and Dad were here though.” She couldn’t help but feel like they were paying her school fees, including her rent, to cover up for the fact that they never showed up to anything.
“Oh Nance, I know,” Shelby said, patting her shoulder. “They’d be here if they could.”

verrrry raw but the last paragraph I wrote:
The couch is wide enough to fit three people the kind of size few apartments would fit comfortably but this one does. It’s leagues above his own. Carlos settles back, not quite knowing how TK wants to sleep, how much space he should leave between them. But as soon as he reclines one side of the short side of the U shape, TK crawls over, places his head on his chest and curls one hand into the fabric of his shirt.
“Carlos?” TK mumbles into his stomach right after Carlos has closed his own eyes.
“Hm?”
There is no reply. Just the little huff of steady breaths. Carlos wonders what was left unsaid, one idea tumbling into thousands. Eventually though, TK moves a bit. He settles his head below Carlos’ rib cage, seeking the softer parts of him. Nothing has ever halted his thoughts more effectively.

True to Catholic form Beth’s funeral takes place only three days after her murder. Andrea has been given leave from school for the remainder of the semester. Although it pushes graduation back her mother convinced her it was necessary, that all her classes would still be there for her to return to in January, that her music wouldn’t suffer from a few months of rest. Plus, the killer was still at large and her mother didn’t want her walking anywhere alone. Honestly, Andrea didn’t want to go anywhere alone either, but she was doing her best to put on a brave face. Today, after the funeral, she’s due to meet with the rangers again. She looks over to her desk chair and the navy blue jacket folded over the back of it. It’ll give her a chance to give Ranger Reyes his jacket back anyway.

Get to Know Your Fanfic Writer Cross Stitch Stitcher

I will do my best to adapt this to cross stitch 😂
When did you post your first ever fanfic cross stitch?
I did some Schitt's Creek cross stitch projects back in 2020/2021, and I think I posted a few of those on tumblr at the time, but I first started modifying and then fully making my own patterns for Lone Star back in April! For a solid 6 months, I've had at least one cross stitch project going at all times...and I've got the stitching callouses on my fingers to prove it!

My first project, other than the Lone Star logo, was an Owen quote, so I guess I'd consider Owen the first!
Main character(s) you’re currently writing stitching for:
Unsurprisingly, the vast majority of my projects are either TK/Carlos quotes or something related to Tarlos. My current project is definitely a Tarlos one.
Character(s) you haven’t written stitched about before but plan on writing stitching about soon:
I have a couple future ideas for characters I haven't done projects related to yet...maybe a Gwyn quote, though it's about TK, so it would still kind of be a TK-related project ("You are surrounded by love"). I've also thought of doing a Judd/Grace related quote ("I wasn't even me 'til I met you"). But these probably won't be too soon because I have several projects in line ahead of them!

Denton looks down at the photos, rubbing a finger gently down the side of the latest victim’s face – it’s the last picture he had posted to his Instagram, weeks ago. Jonathan is smiling wide, unaware of what fate had in store for him. It’s sad, seeing the life in his eyes and knowing that that would be the last picture of him alive, the last picture of him in one piece. Carlos resists the shudder that runs through him.
“If I play with them, detective, they’re my toys.” He looks up at Carlos through his pale eyelashes, before back down at Johnathan’s smiling face with a pout. “I made him scream, he wanted to play so badly. Unfortunate we couldn’t finish the game and I was having so much fun.”
“Finish the game. Tell me where he is.” Carlos slaps his hands down, standing abruptly, the chair falling to the ground behind him with a loud clatter that echoes. “I’m not fucking playing, Miller.” He pulls the folder back, shaking off Denton’s hand when he tries to grip on to it and slamming it shut. “Where is the body?”
Denton’s eyes trace the expanse of Carlos’ body that is no longer hidden behind the table, dragging their way up to make eye contact. His smile is soft, hand reaching up to hook a finger around Carlos’ necklace, batting the crucifix back and forth with his thumb. “Are you not having fun?”

TK’s shift ends at midnight, and when he arrives home a lamp is still on, the TV playing a late-night commercial at a low volume. Carlos is asleep on the couch, half propped in a sitting position and half lying down, his glasses still on.
TK sets his keys down quietly, and takes off his shoes right at the door to pad quietly through the apartment. He takes a thin blanket from the hall cupboard and settles it over his roommate.
The TV, still playing quietly, reflects in the lenses of Carlos’s glasses, casting artificial light over his face in the dim room. His mouth is open as he breathes softly, brow unfurrowed and expression peaceful. TK hasn’t had the opportunity to look for so long, before - or he’s never allowed himself to take it.

also. im suddenly intrigued by this “911” thing u keep talking about. it looks like homosexual activity (that might actually be somewhat healthy for once??)
IT IS IN FACT!! I'm gonna ramble about it a bit because it's my current new favorite thing of all time. it's the show for the girls and the gays <3
there's 2 separate shows, 911 (the og, set in california) and 911 Lone Star (a spinoff set in texas). my favorite thing about both of them is that they have very wide diverse casts of characters, and the writing is overall very well done which is a nice change of pace from dc lmao
in 911, the main cast consists of two black women (one of which is a lesbian married to another black lesbian and they're raising a son together), a korean man, a mexican man who's also a single parent to a kid with cerebral palsy, and a woman who is a victim and survivor of domestic abuse. there's also a popular ship between two of the main male characters that isn't canon but it's widely believed that it will be soon. it's a character-driven show that doesn't have any set main character because everyone in the main cast and every main relationship gets the same amount of care and attention. my favorite favorite thing is that the familial/platonic relationships are JUST as important as the romantic shit and the found family in this show is SOOOOOO <33333 its a show for the aroaces, truly. it also has some of THEE m/f ships of all TIME.
there are also a lot of queer/poc side characters!! and the main female characters all have a life and friendships outside of their male (or female) love interests and it's sad that that's such a high bar for media but it's soooo <3333
911 lone star is my least favorite of the two, but I still love it a lot! the writing focuses a lot more on a specific Main Character (and he's like. the blandest most obnoxious white guy of all time smh) but there's still a very diverse cast and the found family is once again very <333333 in the main cast there's a black trans man, a hispanic man with dyslexia, a muslim hijabi, a black woman, a gay jewish man, and a gay hispanic man (who are one of the main canon pairings and one of my personal favorites in the 911 universe.) sadly the main white character is played by a more famous actor so a lot of the storylines center around him, but there's still quite a few storylines for the others!! there's a more correct 911 lone star in my head where owen (bland obnoxious white guy) dies in the first season for his son and wife's character development <33
so tldr if you're wanting good writing and a wide cast of characters who each get their own chunk of the story, I'd recommend watching 911 first, but lone star has its good moments too. it's also worth mentioning that both shows are about first responders (mostly firefighters/paramedics and dispatchers, but there's a few cops too) so there could be some triggering content since they're dealing with car crashes and earthquakes and shit. and there's also some copaganda vibes surrounding the cop characters but again, there's a more correct version in my head where they're vigilantes instead of cops
