It’s a tie! 🥳
I stated earlier that this is not every time they were injured and not every time they went to the hospital. Instead, it is every time we saw them while they were admitted to the hospital as a patient.
As with everything, this can be calculated in different ways.
There were instances where we saw them go to the hospital for something temporary (Blood, Gesthemane) and there are episodes where they definitely went to hospital, but we didn’t see them (Zero Sum, Never Again).
This also doesn’t take into account variables like length of hospital stay or injury v. illness. It’s impossible to know the full circumstances in some cases and overall to estimate who spent the most *time* in the hospital.
All to say, this was just for fun and I acknowledge it is not comprehensive based on different criteria (so don’t come for me), but I do believe it is every time we see them on screen admitted in hospital gowns.

I've been chewing on this myself and wanted to ask you, because I always enjoy your thoughts re: Flash - when do you think it went so off course it couldn't be corrected? Because it's clear now (and has been for a while) that it's probably never getting back to being consistently decent again. If you had to pick a point of no return, what would it be?
Wow, you know, it's difficult to pinpoint one exact point of no return, because I think The Flash has had so many ups and downs in its trajectory. Having said that, upon further consideration, I think there were two episodes, actually, rather than one single point: one in season 5, when I knew the show would never be consistently decent again, and one in season 6, when I knew we'd reached the point of no return.
The first is 5x06, which is when I knew the show would never be consistently decent. Perhaps rather fitting that it was a Caitlin/Frost-centric episode, but that's not really, in and of itself, why I knew the show would never be consistently decent again from this episode onwards. Season 5 actually started off quite strong, with the episodic run of 5x01 to 5x05 ranging, imo, from very good to excellent. Then 5x06 aired, and it was some incoherent, garbled attempt at rebooting the Killer. Frost origin story, and it was just an incredibly poorly written, poorly plotted episode, but it's with the benefit of hindsight that I can say this was when the show would never be consistently decent again. The show had had terrible episodes before 5x06, but a lot of times they were isolated episodes or even stretches of episodes, before things got back on track. 5x06 was unique in that it was a terrible episode after a very strong stretch of episodes, and the whole season tonally shifted, relying on boring, monotonous story-telling and just failing in every way to capture the initial potential this show did once have. It's also when I feel like the show really doubled down on the whole Team Flash as a family notion and shoving that everywhere, because it felt like from that point on Barry and Iris couldn't have a moment to themselves, without Team Flash always up in their business. Even the better episodes post-5x06 were largely never able to be on par with episodes prior to 5x06, with the very notable exception of 6x17, which IMO remains one of the show's finest episodes. And I say this as someone who loved episodes such as 6x10, 7x17, and 7x18, for example, but you can clearly see how the show shifted focus to the construct of Team Flash heavily from 5x06 onwards, which really harmed the show and eventually led into this current heavy focus on uninteresting supporting characters, while the leading lady is sidelined.
But the point of no return, when I had essentially given up hope that this show was going to be able to turn it around, was 6x19. This was such an infuriating episode: Iris, mostly offscreen, is pushing herself to the absolute brink to save David Singh, while enduring an immense amount of pain mentally and physically to do so, and as a result of pushing herself, she disappears as the cliffhanger. She has maybe two minutes of screentime in this episode where she is enduring such pain and stress, with only Kamilla to support her, before she disappears before Kamilla's eyes. Meanwhile, what's going on outside the Mirrorverse? Team Flash has to protect Carver, because Eva is looking for him, while Mirror Singh proposes a deal to save Iris to Barry: Barry hands over Carver to Eva, and Eva will release Iris. Right before this can be put into motion, Nash Wells, who has the single distinction of not being the absolute Worst Wells, due to the existence of Sherloque, intercepts this plan. He then goes on to berate Barry for considering handing over Carver, as this means certain death for Carver. Carver, who by the way, trafficked human beings, threatened Iris, hired a literal hit on Iris, abused Eva and locked her up (like Eva was written badly for so many reasons, but at least let her kill the man after what he did to her)... somehow deserves active protection, even at the expense of Iris. This faux-moralizing bullshit, shaming Barry for even considering handing this horrific man over in order to save his wife, and the narrative acting like it's in any way right to elevate Carver's life over Iris's. Juxtaposed with Iris enduring the worst pain, because she will risk her very life to save those who need saving... it was one of the most infuriating hours of television. On top of all of this, while Iris's life is being devalued narratively, Sue gets the investigative story-line and agency in confronting Carver, and seeing two white women be valued (the other being Caitlin who was being coddled and taken care of by everyone, because of her random sickness), while Iris was being actively devalued, while barely having any screentime (and her screentime was to showcase the pain she was enduring, trying to save Singh, culminating in her disappearing completely) was so ugly on the part of TPTB and highlighted how entrenched the misogynoir is in the narrative. These are repeated harmful narrative choices TPTB make and which have resulted in the show completely unraveling. I also think this episode solidified how I viewed Eric’s show-running, and how many problems I had with whatever it was he was trying to do. And that’s the episode when I knew that I had to start divesting myself emotionally.
I think I knew when 6x19 aired that this was the point of no return. The show was on such a downward spiral, and the harm perpetuated against Iris was going to continue.
There's so much I wish for, when it comes to this show, but most I wished this show was helmed by creators and writers that loved and cared for Iris as much as we do and that sought to protect her and shower her with love and healing and all the story-lines in the world that she deserved.

The Road So Far: Season 7
I'm back with another season review! If you miraculously found this with no context, I'm watching through all of Supernatural, and this is my recap/reflection of season 7. You can find my season reviews and episode notes under the "ashla chick flick moments" tag.
So. Favorite episode? Hard to say! 7x08 "Season 7, Time for a Wedding" was pretty funny (and had Leslie Odom Jr. as the presiding villain), 7x10 "Death's Door" was absolutely heart-wrenching in the best way, 7x12 "Time After Time" was a treat for movie buffs, and 7x13 "The Slice Girls" was a mixture of fun and heartbreaking. 7x18 "Party On, Garth" gets an honorable mention, but I'd say my favorite is 7x20 "The Girl with the Dungeons and Dragons Tattoo". Charlie is every bit as amazing as I expected her to be, and her budding relationship with Dean is great to watch. The entire episode is full of nerdy references and Charlie's natural charisma draws you in from the start (helped by her personal soundtrack, featuring Walking On Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves).
This season introduced a bunch of new characters, including Charlie, Garth, Kevin, and the ever-paranoid Frank, but it also brought back some classics! Becky was fun to watch, even if the whole situation was aggravating. Although we didn't actually see Pamela or Missouri on screen, it was nice to hear that the boys still remembered them. Meg featured a lot this season (I still can't believe she was allowed to drive Baby) and it seems like Cas is slowly coming back around, something that'll maybe help Dean's blood pressure.
Speaking of Dean and Cas, let's talk about that ending! They're currently stuck in Purgatory, which should theoretically be a breeze for Cas, but Dean's a little out of his league. I'm a little annoyed that Cas ditched him, but if anyone can survive the monster afterlife, it's Dean Winchester. Although, from the few seconds I've seen, he's gonna have a run for his money on this one. I'm excited to see how it plays out.
The season 7 storyline was fairly cut-and-dry, which is refreshing compared to the last few seasons. Of course, the Leviathans kept their secrets, but we knew who to kill from the very start. Dick Roman was a fun villain to watch, with his cutthroat policies, sound logic, and oozing charisma. Truly, he embodies everything that makes a politician dangerous.
We also got a tease for the plot of the next season, which involves Metatron, the scribe of God (not Megatron, the transformer). Incidentally, I'm kind of surprised that Sam made that mistake. Of course Dean would know the difference (at the very least he knew that Megatron was the transformer's name), but I expected Sam to know about Metatron. At the very least, Good Omens came out well before Supernatural, if there's no actual lore on the subject.
Watching Sam fall apart was the cherry on top of the cake (or pie) in the latest of Winchester Suffering. Not only was it hard for him to participate in hunts, but Dean really couldn't afford to worry about Sam more than he already did, for multiple reasons. As of the finale, both Dean and Sam are completely, truly alone, and I'm worried about both of their mental states.
I saw someone mention that, if Dean didn't trust Cas as much as he did during seasons 4 and 5, then no one would've trusted him during 6-8, and they're absolutely right. I might've mentioned it in my season 6 recap, but Dean was Not Having It™ with Cas and if it weren't for his previous friendship, I don't think Sam and Bobby would've cared as much as they did. Now, it looks like Cas is shaping back up, but I'm pretty sure Naomi turns up in season 8, and that'll screw Cas over again.
Well, we're nearly halfway through, and I don't intend to stop now. Watch out for the next episode. Carry On!

All right, this has nothing to do with the latest episode and I told myself I was not going to make this post because literally no one but me cares about this. But I've had a bottle of wine and my girlfriend told me she's sick of hearing me rant about this... so y'all are gonna have to hear it.
I recently did a rewatch of fire for... reasons and I have some issues with the award ribbons they wear on their dress uniforms. Some don't make any sense at all and some just disappear randomly or are in the wrong order. This is long and there are going to be images, so it's going under a cut.
Boden and Herrmann both have the Military Deployment Award(the red white and blue horizontal lines) which means that at some point in their career they were active military status.
I don't recall if this has ever been mentioned in all ten seasons of the show. The closest we ever got was Herrmann taking his son to the veterans breakfast in 5x18 but it was never specifically stated in that episode that Herrmann served.
Like what is their history??? What branch were they a part of? When did they serve? Why has this never been mentioned. Surely, there should have been a brief mention of it at some point. (if it has, please let my dumb ass know)
Cruz also has this award, from season 1 until season 7. It was there during 7x07 at benny's funeral (I could not get a clear screenshot of this from the episode) and then it disappeared in 7x18 when he was receiving his commendation from PD.
I don't think Cruz was ever supposed to have served in the military, I think it just took them 7 seasons to correct the mistake. This is literally the clearest screenshot I can get of Cruz with the Military Deployment Award from 6x01.
Stella's awards are in the wrong order and it pisses me off.
At first I thought it was supposed to be the State of Illinois Firefighter Medal of Honor Award but no, it is definitely the City of Chicago Honorable Mention and should go before the Instructor Service Award.
The above photo is really great, because you can literally see them in the right order on Kelly's uniform.
When Stella first appeared in season 4 she didn't have the Instructor Service Award. I can't match it to anything because I can't get a clear enough image, but it literally looks like the Paramedic Award of Valor but put on backwards.
Now, lets talk about the Firefighter Award of Valor.
I honestly don't think the writers had any idea what this award was until season 6 when Matt received it in 6x01 (Not even going to talk about Matt's supposed Carter Harrison Award, that just doesn't exist).
Boden and Kelly had this award from season 1 until season 4(I can't recall off the top of my head if they wore dress uniform in season 5). That makes sense, I think. They were both supposed to be pretty accomplished in their careers by the time the show started. Borelli's brother received the award as well. We never really knew him, so also plausible.
But I find this absolutely hilarious, in season three, when Gabby is still a candidate she has apparently also received the Firefighter Award of Valor (I know this has to be a mistake, but it absolutely tracks with the way they wrote Gabby as a firefighter). See below pictures: they removed Gabby's Unit Performance Award (In the wrong order, again) and replaced it with the Award of Valor, when if she were really to have received the Award of Valor, her other award wouldn't have been removed.
So come 6x01 when Matt receives his Award of Valor and apparently no one but Matthew Casey can have an Award of Valor because they literally removed it from every regular character except for him.
From this episode Boden and Kelly no longer have this award. Boden's was replaced with the Instructor Service Award (and it's in the wrong order!) and Kelly's was replaced with the Public Service Award (so was Gabby's - didn't get a screenshot of this because I can't be assed).
Now I want to specifically talk about Kelly's awards. They have been all over the place every time we see them. Except for season 1. That is the only time they have been correct.
In 1x19 and 1x21 Kelly has the Award of Valor, City of Chicago Honorable Mention, Unit Performance Award, Instructor Service Award, and the NATO Campaign Award. They stay that way until season 6.
Though in season 3 and 4 the Unit Performance Award and the NATO Campaign Award are switched and are worn in the wrong order.
I can't get a clear screenshot, but the Award of Valor was definitely removed in season 6. I can't see if the NATO Campaign Award was removed then as well or if it was in season 7 when they switched it with the Clinical Resuscitation Award. I'm at the limit for images so see the screenshot above from Benny's funeral. The Clinical Resuscitation Award should be before the Unit Performance Award, not after.
Gallo and Violet's awards are also out of order but, again, I'm out of space for images so you can see it in 9x15.
In conclusion, the dress uniforms are a mess (don't even get me started on the characters that should have white shirts that don't) and they should know better by now.
