I’m loving this era of Keegan. he goes out there, chillin, no pressure bc he’s retiring soon, absolutely kills it, and then the whole figure skating community collectively showers him with praise as he shows us photos of his kids in the k&c. such an icon
Hi hello anyone and everyone who have an answer for my question please help me
Why do some skaters get assigned to 4CC while others don't? Like some skaters get assigned to 4CC and the Worlds but some just got assigned to the Worlds?
Yuzuru thought it's hard to win the 4CC gold medal since he was 16 years old. He described it as like a spell. Javier sent a message to Yuzuru for wishing him good luck in 4CC after he won his first Euros. He said "I hope you win a medal in the same color as this one! ".
However, Yuzuru didn't make it at that time. He got silver medal in 2011, 2013 and 2017. He finally win the 4CC gold medal until 2020, 1 year after Javier's retirement, and got the Super Slam.

In his autobiography "Blue Flame III" published in 2023, Yuzuru talked about he thought it is hard to win the 4CC gold medal since he was 16 y/o.
I am happy to finally win this competition, since I had a good performance and won a silver medal when I was 16 years old, and I had been thinking that it was hard to win since then. I am glad I finally won it (laugh). I think I am happy to have won the Super Slam, after my good short program, so overall, I am happy for now. I think I should have won Worlds or Olympics last, but this season, I have broken the spell of not winning in Skate Canada. Last season, too, I am gradually getting rid of the spell of not winning the first round of GP series, so I am relieved in that sense, too.
I was thinking about how it must be helpful to Christina to have a tall, strong, confident woman as one of her coaches. Then she stepped off the ice and Madi literally picked her up in a hug and that was both the perfect exclamation point to my thought and also just freaking adorable.
