I didn't really have time to talk about yesterday, so I'll do it now. Right after i posted the picture me and all four of my friends, the three of their partners and one of my friends' dad went to walk three dogs. In the evening all of us (sans the dad) spent the evening together, drinking and hanging out. It was great. Today morning, one of my friends and her boyfriend left and the rest of us went bowling. We also played darts and pool there. After that, the rest of us went our seperate ways for the time being.
Also a lightbulb straight up exploded in the evening and that's why I'm posting this twenty minutes before midnight.

Some reading material for the people that think that there's a major tagging issue in the DP and DPxDC community.
Hard data gathered by @tourettesdog about content inside the Danny Phantom tag showing that the majority of DPxDC posts have been tagged with "DPxDC" or some variation of the crossover tag.
A subjective poll made by @skellagirl and with 446 votes asking whether "you think the DPxDC fandom content tags their content appropriately or not?"
The top 3 results being: 1. people who either do not care about the issue or just want to see results (33.6% or ~150 votes), " 2. People who think that the fandom tags their content appropriately (35.7% or ~159 votes) 3. People who think that the fandom does not tag their content appropriately (30.7% or ~137 votes) Subjectivity aside, with this data I think we can comfortably assume that over 2/3rds of the voters (69.3% or ~309 of the 446 votes) think that tagging is a non-issue
A reblog by @phandomnews where they looked at the #danny phantom and #dannyphantom tags with and without filtering the #dpxdc tag and stating that blocking the tag "did reduce crossover posts in the #dannyphantom and #danny phantom tags by a lot, with one or two posts in the tag that were not tagged correctly."
So what does this mean?
It means that the MAJORITY of DPxDC content is tagged with the APPROPRIATE TAG or some variation of the tag.
It means that a large portion of people CONSIDER TAGGING A NON-ISSUE.
It means that BLOCKING AND FILTERING TAGS WORK.
This means that the issue is NOT whether you tag the parent fandoms or not. The issue is NOT that majority of DPxDC fans are refusing to tag their content.
THE ISSUE IS WHETHER YOU, AS AN INDIVIDUAL, ARE WILLING TO TAKE IT UPON YOURSELF TO APPRORIATELY CURATE YOUR DASH AND FILTER AND BLOCK APPROPRIATELY
No community can feasibly tag correctly 100% of the time. There will be new people who don't know the commonly used or agreed upon tags. There will be people who prefer to use one tag over the other for organizational purposes. There will be people who just forget. There will be people who just don't want to.
No one has the right to police people's tags.
What you can do, however, is control what you want to see by using Tumblr's Block and Filter functions to curate what you see. Take responsibility for your own internet experience. Don't expect others to bend down and do it for you.
Don't know how to do this? Here's some more reading material to get you started A tutorial on how to use tag blocking and content filtering with screen shots + a recommendation of tags to block if you want to avoid DPxDC content
But if you have to remember one thing from this...
Please remember that we are all people just trying to have some fun. A lot of people in the DPxDC community came from DP, and no matter your frustrations, it isn't fair to alienate us from the phandom we love just because you don't want to see a crossover.
It takes 2 to compromise. While the DPxDC community is trying to spread the word about consistent tagging, you can do your part by curating your tags.

A new record: temperatures are so high, that yesterday Gavarda (a town in the Valencian Country) registered the highest temperature ever recorded in Europe in January: 30.7°C (87.26°F). This would usually be the expected temperature in early May. The previous record was set in 2021 (29.8°C in Alacant). We are record after record, and it's not good.
This adds on the drought that the Catalan Countries have been suffering for 3 years. We have water use restrictions and many farmers have lost the harvests for months because they're not allowed to water the fields. And there's no prospect for generous rain any time soon. Experts have been warning that for every degree Celsius that temperatures rise in the Mediterranean region, annual rain will reduce by 4%, and since we're a region that is already naturally prone to summer droughts, this will mean 20% less water resources.
The Mediterranean region is one of the places in the Earth that heats the most because of climate change. There will be 40% more days with extreme heat (days with temperatures higher than 35°C=95°F), which will have effects on health, particularly on open-air workers, and will suppose a 17% decrease in agriculture produce. That is, without counting rising sea levels.
The Mediterranean region is inhabited by 400-500 million people, out of which 150 million live on the coast. Experts calculate that the sea will have risen 1 meter (it's not out of the question that it might have risen even more if polluting emissions aren't reduced) by the end of the century. Considering that 37% Mediterranean coast is very low, on sea level, this means that this rise of the Mediterranean sea will put about 42 million people in extreme danger. One of the first victims will be (and is already suffering the early effects) the Delta of the Ebro river, a mostly-agricultural area in the South of Catalonia which is also a Biosphere reserve due to its great biodiversity.
And some people still say climate change isn't real 🤦

I'd love an explanation for why colored backgrounds were removed from direct messages. it made dms feel personal and vibrant since they used the main theme color from the blog you were messaging, and the new layout feels so cold and boring. Also, why is the avatar not a link to the blog from the messages menu? It seems like a step backwards to remove functionality like that.
Tumblr media
Like clicking/touching here just opens the messages, it doesn't navigate to the blog anymore.
Basically, why make the app uglier and harder to use?
Answer: Hey there, @slimereveler!
First things first. The blog name at the top of a conversation takes you to the blog, starting with version 30.7 of the apps. If it isn’t live just yet it is definitely being addressed, and it won’t be long until it is.
For user-defined backgrounds, they were, in many cases, inaccessible with very low contrast. It’s a long-term problem that we have, and fully intend to address, and hopefully in a way that still gives users choice in customizing their spaces. But without potentially making the site unusable, of course! So, while we appreciate that many users enjoyed the colored backgrounds, we also have a duty to the community to make the messages readable.
In a nutshell—we have to support 12 different color palettes. Adding blog colors will add too much variance, and it will be very hard to manage the combination of these palettes and blog colors and maintain good accessibility.
Thank you for your question—it was important to address, and we are grateful you raised it with us.
Best,
—Paul and Maxime

What's the most split a poll has ever been? Like, which poll was closest to being 33%/33%/33%?
Michael Corleone from The Godfather with 36.8% (1823), 30.3% (1503), 32.9% (1631) is the closest so far.
The second closest is Hershel Layton from the Professor Layton series with 39.6% (2590), 30.7% (2005), 29.7% (1943).
(Number of votes in parentheses.)

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow #3/Worm 30.7/Nona The Ninth/Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow #8 The truth of things.
Image IDs: Four screenshots of various texts.
The first is from the comic Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. It shows Supergirl sitting with a young girl on steps. A caption on the top left with white font reads, "Chapter Three: "Modest, Calm, and Quiet." The young girl says "It's too big. We're too small."
The second, from Worm, is prose with white text on a black background. The prose reads: "I looked away. I looked up. My eyes were wet. So many stars. The universe so vast. We're s-so very small, in the end."
The third, from Nona the Ninth, is prose with black text on a grey background. The prose reads "'Palamedes, yes,' she said. 'My whole life, yes. Yes, forever, yes. Life is too short and love is too long.'"
The fourth is also from Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, later in the comic. The first panel shows Supergirl, the young girl, a defeated man kneeling, and a dead man lying on the ground on a desert island. In that panel, Supergirl says "Ruthye... it's..." and in the next panel, which just shows Supergirl, somewhat bloody with her clothes torn, looking down, she says, "It's too big. We're too small." End IDs.
