Hiiii. I was wondering if you knew any fics dean dates cas because he feels bad for him or the other way around. I don't really know if thats your thing but i thought i might as well try
Interesting ask. Genuinely sorry this has taken so long. I think I've been putting this off because the fic that immediately springs to mind is The Girlfriend Experience and for whatever reason I've been avoiding re-reading it (to the point of deleting it off my kindle) since I started reading destiel fic again.
The way I'm reading this ask is one of them taking the other out on a date/s while they are not in or intending to be in a genuine relationship.
The Discovery Series - DC_Derringer Ao3
Set S6ish. When he discovers and reads Destiel fanfic, Cas decides that the authors are right and he is in love with Dean. With Sam’s help he gets Dean to agree to a single date, one that is as platonic as Dean can make it. When they start hanging out in similar scenarios, the angel is confused as to what their relationship actually is

you may have seen someone tell me about this one but opal_bullets has a poet dean fic called and this, your living kiss that makes me feel damn insane
i bookmark fics for a lot of different reasons—sometimes for characterization, or good prose, or good plots, or concepts that feel really original... there's a mix. hope some of 'em are new to ya <3

“It was an accident,” Dean insists, as soon as they hear from Bobby. They’re sitting at a diner halfway back to the hotel room and these are the first real words Dean has spoken.
“I know it was. He didn’t mean to.”
Sam stares at him.
“He?”
“Castiel?” Dean says, shrugs. “Boy name, right?”
“Are you insane?” Sam blurts out.
CHEAPEST ROOM IN THE HOUSE - BIGGAYBENNY
“Why is the app on Dean’s phone? Why is someone messaging you on Dean’s phone?” Sam asks and Dean knows Sam’s staring at him even as he stares at the page in front of him with an intensity he hasn’t had all afternoon.
When no one answers, Sam tries again. “What –?”
Irritation flares like electricity through Dean and it’s only that spark of anger that gets his words out. “I’m just helping him out, Sam! Jesus, he’s – he was – he’s an angel. Celestial intent! How is he meant to know what Grindr is? How to – how to – to talk to guys, how is he –”
“Dude,” Sam says emphatically, placating him with wide eyes, holding his hands up. “Okay, okay. Listen, I know you’re not –”
THE DEAN WINCHESTER BEAT SHEET - SALTYFEATHERS
Sam snorts and puts down his phone. His bed creaks as he gets comfortable. “So, what’s up with Cas?”
“What do you mean?” Dean says.
“Nothing. Just, like, what’s his deal?”
For all the fretting he did over this trip, Dean never once thought to prepare an answer for this question. So when he blurts out, “Well, he’s gay,” the only person he can be disappointed in is himself.
“Uh, okay,” Sam says. “I was looking for more of a big picture type-thing, but I guess we can start there, too.”
BUILT TO ROAM - SLEEPYVAN
They both throw the ball, Cas controlling Dean’s swing with his own arms and his own legs, strong and firm at his back. If he’s a shifter, he could kill me right now, Dean thinks, and stays put right where he is. He releases the ball and they both watch as the ball travels straight towards the pins, hitting them with a good amount of force and knocking them all down.

"I can honestly say I haven't give it much thought, Dean," Sam says, looking like he's about to ask Dean if there's anything else he wants to admit to, and Dean doesn't want to give him the satisfaction, so he climbs inside the car and turns the music up before Sam can open his pinched little mouth again.

thinking about romantic theory by 2street2car. uhm. imagine s4e09 i know what you did last summer and s4e10 heaven and hell being compliant with romantic theory and dean struggling SO much to go against cas when cas is trying to kill anna because cas is GOOD he does good things he must have a reason but he still cant let anna die and THEN imagine anna and dean’s conversation in heaven and hell when theyre out in the junk yard they talk about angels and emotions (“like a marble statue”) and anna trying to reiterate to dean that the angels raised him for a purpose and that cas is Not what he thinks. cas is not good!!! heaven is not good!!! she tries to tell him that he has mistaken love for goodness!!!
