Status: Extinct

Time and Place: 22 million years ago, in the Aquitanian of the Miocene

Xenopsitta is known from the Merkur site of Cheb County in Czechia

Physical Description: Xenopsitta was a small parrot, with very robust feet similar to living African parrots. Despite this, it was probably much smaller than most of them, probably only about half the size as living African Greys or Senegal Parrots. This would mean it is probably somewhere around 16 centimeters in total body length, though that is a rough estimate. Still, in a lot of ways it was a miniature version of a living African Grey Parrot, with similarly short ligaments and strong feet. Xenopsitta also had fairly stout and short wings compared to other parrots, though not to the point of being flightless. We can’t say much more about this parrot, as it has shapes in its feet and wings similar to quite a few different kinds of parrots, though African varieties seem most likely; it would have resembled living parrots in most ways too, with a similarly large head, big and distinctive beak, and possibly colorful feathers.

Diet: As a parrot, Xenopsitta would have been mainly herbivorous, feeding on a wide variety of nuts, leaves, and fruit; though they would have probably supplemented their diet with animal matter such as insects when needed.

Behavior: It is reasonable to suppose, as a bird closely related to a very specific group of living parrots, Xenopsitta would have been an intelligent forager much like they are today, using its large and curved beak to dig around and find food, as well as to make nests in cavities it would create in trees. It would have used its flexible feet to interact extensively with its environment, reaching out to grab things and to manipulate objects. In addition, Xenopsitta would have been very social, living in decently sized flocks and family groups, and talking to each other with squawks and calls aplenty. They would have taken care of their young, probably for a decent amount of time before the young left the nest.

Ecosystem: Xenopsitta lived in a heavily forested environment, probably sub-tropical in terms of temperature with a bit of seasonal variation. There were many types of plants present in the area, including beeches and oaks, walnuts and birches, maples and chestnuts and mangos and mahoganies, citrus, magnolias, roses, and some coniferous trees. Little is known in the way of mammals here, but there were plenty of birds - including the Swift Procypseloides, the owl Mioglaux, the cormorant Phalacrocorax, the loon Petralca, ducks like Nettion and Mionetta, and the giant swimming-flamingo Palaelodus. The present of so many water birds indicates that there was a decent system of rivers and lakes present in the area as well. As for predators, Xenopsitta probably mostly had to watch out for Mioglaux!

Other: Xenopsitta is one of many fossil parrots known from the Miocene of Europe, a location that doesn’t have natural parrots today. This showcases that parrots occurred in a wide diversity in the forests of Europe prior to the Ice Age glaciations, with many different kinds of living groups represented within the sub-continent. Furthermore, it is one of the earlier ones known, which helps to clear up some of the murkiness of parrot evolution - stem-parrots disappear from the fossil record in the Oligocene, with modern-form parrots showing up seemingly out of nowhere in the Miocene. This is then followed by a dramatic extinction of parrots and other later tropical birds from Europe, sometime in the late Miocene, from which Xenopsitta and its descendants would have been affected.

Svědkové Jehovovi již aktivně nehrají – čekají na podání

Pan David Bobošík, mluvčí svědků Jehovových na oblastním sjezdu Zůstaň věrný Jehovovi (2016) vysvětlil, že svědkové Jehovovi přestali být proaktivní ve své kazatelské službě.

„Co se týká oslovování lidí, stále platí, že základní formou zůstává navštěvování lidí v jejich domech. Je ale pravda, že v současnosti bývají doma lidé k zastižení méně než v minulosti. V USA proto před dvěma lety naši členové vyzkoušeli postup, kdy na určitém místě postaví pojízdný stojan s našimi časopisy. Pokud je člověk míjí bez povšimnutí, neoslovujeme jej. Pokud projeví zájem, jsme mu k dispozici. Pokud bych to chtěl mírně odlehčit a uvést na příkladu sportu, řekl bych, že pomyslný míček k rozehrání servisu necháváme na lidech."

Svědkové Jehovovi druhé lidi oslovují čím dál méně a čekají až druzí zahájí podání.

[OPINION] ツイッター・ジャパン @TwitterJP のアカウント凍結基準はやはりおかしい

[UPDATE] この件の問い合わせに対してツイッター・ジャパンから返信が来た。

予想通りのめちゃくちゃな理由であった。以下、再度問い合わせしておいた。

ご担当者様

前回のメールでURLを添付しましたように、

(A) ツイッターを実名で運用している本人が (B) 同じく実名で運用しているFacebookの全体公開プロフィールに記述している内容 (C) 本人が勤務する病院がウェブサイトで公開している内容

以上3つを総合した注意喚起情報が、「他人の個人情報と機密情報の投稿」にあたるというのはおかしいのではないでしょうか。Twitterルールに「個人情報」の例として記述されている「クレジットカード番号、住所、社会保障番号/国民識別番号」等にもあたらないことは明白で、個人の電話番号なども含まれていません。

したがって、これは全くの筋違いな措置なので受け入れられません。即座にロックを解除してください。

また、問い合わせフォームで以下説明したように、

これはエスニック・マイノリティにとって命に関わる重要な情報なのですが、御社はその情報の流通よりも、人種差別団体に加入していることを隠したい医師または病院の利益を優先させるのはなぜでしょうか。

このような不当な措置を続けると「すべての方が安心してご自分を表現いただける場」の実現から遠ざかるのではないかと思いますが、ご担当の方はどのように考えますか。

この件に関するご担当者名、部署、部署の責任者名を次の返信にてお知らせください。

個人情報の定義を捻じ曲げてまで反レイシズム団体の活動を妨害しようとするツイッター・ジャパン、世界的な反ヘイトの潮流からすれば相当に異常としか言いようがないのではないだろうか。

今朝から C.R.A.C.のツイッターアカウントにロックがかかっています。「違反があるのでロックした。このツイートを消せば解除される」という。

どうでもいい罵詈雑言程度なら削除してそのまま解除するのですが、こういう意味のない、そしてむしろ害悪といっていいロック措置をそのまま放置していいとも思えないので、下記の通り異議申し立てを送りました。

「攻撃的なツイートを減らした」と称するツイッター・ジャパンの対応が内実としてめちゃくちゃであり、一方でヘイトスピーチが野放しになっていることは、昨日京橋のツイッター本社前で行われた抗議行動でも明らかにされました。

ここで地面に敷き詰められている大量のヘイトツイートはすべて、ここ2週間以内にツイッター・ジャパンにルール違反として報告され、それでも削除されなかったものです（写真＝安田浩一）。

こうしたヘイトツイートを野放しにしながら、一方でマイノリティの生命にかかわる重大な情報へのアクセスを遮断しようとするツイッター社の対応には、大きな問題があると言わざるをえません。

ツイッター・ジャパンは役員がnetgeek等のフェイクニュース・サイトを愛読していることでも知られていますが、ヘイトスピーチと表現の自由に関する根本的な知見が欠如しているのではないでしょうか。

なお、つい最近も@cracjp のこのようなツイートを問題視し、ツイッター・ジャパンはアカウントにロックをかけてきました。

これは、公共施設で行われるヘイト本のサイン会を問題視した杉並区議を「死刑にせよ」と煽るハッシュタグへの批判であることは誰の目にも明らかです。

また、3年前のこのようなツイートがなぜかルール違反とされ、ロックされていたユーザーもいるようです。

山谷えり子は当時の国家公安委員長ですが、国家公安委員長に対する抗議デモの告知は、ツイッター・ルールでは違反となるのでしょうか。

「攻撃的なツイートを減らした」と発表しているツイッター・ジャパンですが、その実態はヘイトスピーチを放置し、ヘイトに対抗するツイートや批判を執拗に封じ込めようとするものであるということが浮き彫りになったのではないでしょうか。

Mal estado de las calles

Punto 1:

El problema se ubica en el hecho de que las calles se encuentran en tan mal estado que esto causa accidentes, tráfico y varios carros dañados, ya sea por caer en un hoyo o alguna otra situación. “Luego de que una camioneta cayera en el hoyo ubicado sobre una de las calles alrededor del Mercado Rafael Buelna, vecinos colocaron señalamientos viales para que no ocurriera nuevamente el accidente”. Esto opina la gente “83% de los entrevistados opinan que las calles están en mal estado y de acuerdo con el 89%, los baches son el principal problema, seguido de la poca iluminación (63%), vados (25%) y poco agarre (17%).” (Autocosmos,2017.)

Punto 2:

Es muy importante analizar este problema debido a que recientemente se han reportado problemas en Culiacán debido a los declives de las calles que surgen regularmente por las lluvias y por la poca atención del gobierno que esta recibe.

Además, está causando muchos problemas en la sociedad. Puede causar desde desviarte de la dirección a la que te diriges y perder más tiempo, hasta un grave accidente que pudiera ser mortal.

Están violando nuestro derecho como ciudadanos, de tener buenas calles para transportarnos de manera más segura y cómoda. El dinero de nuestros impuestos debe de ser utilizado para solucionar este tipo de problemas, y así poder vivir en paz, con más seguridad.

Punto 3:

Vamos a dar un ejemplo, como es que esto afecta a un ciudadano desde su punto de vista; para Román este problema es constante en su vida diaria ya que en su recorrido a la escuela y de regreso se encuentran zonas con baches eh incluso una calle que no esta pavimentada, esto ocasiona que siempre tenga que salir antes porque si no lo hace entre que las calles están en mal estado y el trafico es casi imposible salir un poco más tarde, también si te descuidas un poco puedes caer en un hoyo que esta en la calle saliendo de la casa, en palabras de el: Este problema me afecta en que siempre hay que estar bien atento y con temor a caer en un bache. Y así es como este ciudadano vive este problema.

Punto 4:

La relación que se siento con esto es que al manejar uno no lo puede hacer a gusto ya que los ya mencionados baches son una molestia, yo pienso que el gobierno debería encargarse de darnos los servicios y mantenerlos en buen estado en este caso las calles, así uno no tendría que preocuparse o tomar otra ruta porque la calle está en tan mal estado que no puedes ni pasar por ahí, lo que quiero decir es que como ciudadanos tenemos este derecho y hay que pedirlo, claro pacíficamente.

El Mal Estado de las Calles

Punto 1:

Recientemente con la precipitación, este problema ha tenido mayor impacto en mi desempeño y en la sociedad. Ya no puedo llegar temprano a donde vaya debido al tráfico que surge por los desniveles en la calle, y lo bueno es que no ha llegado a peores como un neumático desinflado o incluso un impacto contra otro automóvil. El gobierno debería prestar más atención a situaciones como esta e invertir en ella para solucionarla. Y de esta manera ya no tener esas dificultades y preocupaciones a la hora de ir transitando de manera correcta por la calle.

Punto 4:

El mal estado de las calles en Culiacán no es un problema reciente, es un problema que viene arraigándose desde hace ya varios años. Resultados de encuestas nos brindan datos númericos de personas que opinan y apoyan la idea del mal estado de las calles en Culiacán, y sinceramente estoy totalmente de acuerdo con las reseñas de dichas encuestas ya que al ser un problema desde hace varios años, la gente ya conoce las problemáticas de la Ciudad. Finalmente concluyo esta investigación con un gran sentimiento de satisfacción porque como ya dije antes al ser una situación que no se le presta mucha importancia, pude desarrollar el tema y encontrar posturas relativamente similares a la mía haciendo de él un factor que involucra múltiples percances y hasta adversidades de mayor magnitud.
