okay so i havent figured out Everything but this is most of what i can gather. sorry there arent links to specific references im not supposed to be doing this i need to be packing for uni 😭 but this is everything off the top of my head !

starting from the left wall theres the peep show poster which matty has said to be his favourite show in a reddit comment, idk what the streets poster is a reference to, the ghost on an island is an antichrist reference 'theres a ghost on this island' and then the petrol can is an its not living reference as 'danny works in a petrol station'

so the back wall obviously the cancelled banner for lols, 4 days since last incident as a general meme reference?, do not use emergency only is likely a reference to mattys abstinence from social media and being a bit OTG, flushed away poster is obvious, the fake matty quote which he never said and was on the problematic, oasis poster as they need to stop marding and get back together!!! from Q with Tom Powell and various other Oasis call outs, Maroon 5 as problemattic beef, Newcastle United as duh, Frozen as he referenced liking frozen in a couple 2014 interviews particularly the moshcam (?) one, idk about the IDs and then the box from the philharmonic orchestra album, the icon from the mind shower detox thing they did for notes which was a 3d tour thing that's still up and then the height chart as matty is short <3 and the good boy points which i dont know what it is referring to specifically but i think its funny

now the window/right wall has la poesie est dans la rue is etched into the tree and is an easter egg in quite a few music videos and is a reference to love it if we made it, the minion i assume is a reference to the deuxmoi thing of matty sending minion memes to a girl, and then a camera i assume is a general comment on the lack of privacy you get as a celebrity and 'house with just three walls' etc

the couch and table has matty smoking and chained to the couch as a reference to the consumption bit and could be reference to the idea that he is stuck in a position of his own doing, hann is a wizard i presume as a hobbit reference? and then the dubai and malaysia flags as he got banned,oxygen tank from consumption, cross due to the religious signposting on his ig story and a juxtaposition to his atheism, thesaurus for those big words, infinite jest as its referenced in sincerity is scary, wine, cigarettes, xanax as a reference to 'Xanax and a newport' in part of the band, i live cum mug from the problemattic, american flag as a lot of their music is informed by Americana especially on notes(? maybe also just because america)

then on the floor here theres the coke bottles as matty cannot be seen without one, the piss/apple juice from when he was spotted with gabbriette, the fox i saw on twitter means temptation so could be a very subtle hint towards temptation from porn and the right and so on, raw meat from consumption and its being 'swept under the rug' so could be a metaphor for matty being problematic and it being glossed over by him, hairdye as there was twitter rumour he dyed his grays and matty has previously said he would not, flame and wok box as the boys used to work there, typewriter from the typed up letters he used to do but u dont know what 'im not a beatnik im a catholic' is a reference to, true romance is one of mattys favourites and was a key inspiration for the robbers video

this corner has the married computer so man who married a robot, lotion and tissues for activities, cow with glassjaw hoodie as a nod to when we are together and also the nme interview where he mentions that hoodie as the one he put on at 13 and took off at 19 if im correct, grass block from satvb promo, tent could be a nod to reading and leeds? then skeleton with the lab coat i dont know exactly but i think it could be another problemattic reference with me on the brain, and then 2013 george with his blue gatorade as in most gigs you can see his blue gatorade with its own stand!! (though i watched trsmnt the other day and it was orange) and he is producing i think it could have been drawn from a photo but i cba to find it

and last but not least, ross!!! who is also jesus as there were lots of memes surrounding him looking like jesus or being a personal jesus and so on, also could be to do with the problemattic post of ricky gervais on the cross for being an atheist, penguin!! because ross likes penguins, bees are a manchester symbol, beer, robber with the iconic 2014 shirt, greggs sausage roll i presume from when one got thrown onstage but also the twitter meme of 'i saw matty crying in x greggs' and then i think the last on is a mortal kombat character and nearly forgot but ross also has a lamp as he turned off the lamps at the end of when we are together during atvb on stage

I am living in 2014, man. My friends and I have also been working on our own version of this, which I will eventually post, but I'm warning you now that some of the songs here and there will overlap!

I stuck to characters I grew up knowing decently,,, okay and have a decent idea of how others characterized them through song. Some songs are based more on canon, others fanon, and some are... I can't explain. Vibes??

Thank you for this ask. I am working on a whole evermore analysis post but am swamped these days so it is on pause right now. I will take this instead.

So based on the songs on Fine Line, there was clearly still something there for him. And on folklore in songs like The 1— “persist and resist the temptation to ask you ‘if one thing had been different, would everything be different today?’” — and the teenage love triangle exploration and exile, she also had some unexplored, unfinished feelings.

So I think these fictional worlds allowed her to work through all the stuff she couldn’t do in diaristic writing *because H has been so hidden from her actual, public-facing narrative.*

I initially thought is might have been exactly what you suggested, but now I think it is more *her working through her feelings to see how she would react if he actually DID move on.*

Because besties? She has not historically been great with him and women who are not her.

In Hits Different she tells us:

Which is followed almost immediately by some throw-down and rapprochement about which…

And we have all heard Question…? She certainly gave in to the temptation she described in The 1. During my first listen to that song, my jaw hit the floor. She’s been in a different relationship for at least 5 years and she is asking him “do you wish you had made different choices and NOT lost me? Is everything 2nd best compared to me, including your ‘suitable girlfriend’? Do you still dream of touching me?” The chutzpah! And she already knew the answer!

It’s linked to verse 2 of happiness, I think:

She does not seem to excited about the prospect of being replaced, huh?

Which, to his credit, he tells her will likely never happen entirely in As it Was:

He is NOT “a boy who wouldn’t stay” Blondie; stop calling him that!

But back to happiness, where Blondie drops her biggest truth bombs in the bridge (as is her habit):

And she doesn’t know how deal with that, nor how to transition to friendship with this person with whom she once shared absolutely everything. She loathes the fake niceties, most significantly because she? Spent years getting so much more that that from him. Love and devotion and care, in physical and emotional form. And so - the final verse. She is steeling herself for the moving in, convincing them both that:

And she concludes that “the new her” can offer forgiveness and a new, fresh friendship start because despite everything:

What a lovely sentiment. And fleeting!

Because she totally walks it back with Question….? and her admissions in parts of Maroon, but that is a story for another day.

6. Is there/what is a song that you secretly love but you hate to admit it?

Honestly? I don’t really have many guilty pleasures, but I do feel I have to fight for my life when I say I like many of Maroon 5’s songs. Lucky Strike bangs and I don’t care what anyone else says. My mom was OBSESSED with them and played them all the time like, early-mid 2010s so there’s that… People say their one good record is Songs About Jane which, yeah, that’s my favourite, but I mean. I think they have bangers on their albums after their debut 😭 I’ll defend myself a little and say my enjoyment ends at their album V (2014).

13. What’s an album cover that you would frame and put up in your house?

Typical answer, but either of the Everything Not Saved… parts by Foals. I could probably make a case for Holy Fire too if we’re going with cool nature photography!

14. Do you have any music related decorations?

My keyboard and two guitars collecting dust LMAO. Real answer, I have a few posters and a painting-type thing of CDs in a row of dozens of iconic albums hanging on my wall around my record player in my bedroom. My dad also gave me some of his Funko Pop Rocks, does that count? I’m counting it, only my own room fits this question. I have three Eddie the Heads from different Iron Maiden albums, Joan Jett, and Rob Halford sitting on my bookshelf.

24. How many hours a day would you say you spend listening to music?

I’d say about 4-5? If there’s silence and I’m doing something, I just put some on as background noise. Not when I’m studying/doing schoolwork, I cannot focus unless it’s ambient or classical music.

Taylor Swift tallies a record-extending 55th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart (dated Dec. 3), continuing her run as the top musical act in the U.S.

Swift leads thanks to the continued success of her album Midnights, which logs a fourth week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 177,000 equivalent album units earned Nov. 18-24, according to Luminate. And have you always been consistently into them since discovering them, or did you rekindle your love for them at some point? For example there are bands I used to really like as a teenager, then was kind of casual about for a while, and I’m now getting back into really actively listening to them.

What about for other bands/musicians?

i got into fob when i was 14! it was big hero 6. still love that movie.

and actually, yeah. i used to be a kind of notable fob blogger back in the day in like 2014-2017 (i didnt personally have a lot of followers, but i was friends with bigger bloggers so my voice carried a bit) (ive mentioned this before but um. i was one of the bloggers patrick wams did all that to be friends with. to put it in perspective). in real life i got a vip ticket to go to the mania tour and my dad backed out on sending me at the last minute, and it was just so painful and so hurtful that it made me ashamed that i liked something so much as to be hurt by not going to a concert, so i stopped being as into fall out boy. i listened mania when it came out and i loved it but i tried to tone down how much i loved fall out boy. the pandemic led me to get more into fall out boy again because i think i found some new fob music (might have veen dear future self, might have been summer days) and i realised how much i fucking missed fall out boy. like its my favourite band and always will be and always has been. i made an instagram and then a tiktok and then came back to tumblr (which i left because of general anxiety about being #cancelled and mha drama because i pivoted to a wayyyy more toxic fandom lmao) and once again this is my modus operandi.

as for other bands, not really! fob is my number one with a bullet so i dont really have any other bands that i was really into that im now really into again. maybe ill listen to overexposed by maroon 5 and get mad nostalgic idk.

The song was composed and performed by Elton John but the lyrics were written by Bernie Taupin. It originally appeared in his self titled and second album. Elton John hadn’t come out of the closet yet, but Bernie Taupin knew, which is part of the reason why the lyrics avoid using gendered pronouns. In a 2013 interview with Rolling Stone, Elton John said: “What can I say, it’s a perfect song. It gets better every time I sing it. I remember writing it at my parents' apartment in North London, and Bernie giving me the lyrics, sitting down at the piano and looking at it and going, ‘Oh, my God, this is such a great lyric, I can’t fuck this one up.’ It came out in about 20 minutes, and when I was done, I called him in and we both knew. I was 22, and he was 19, and it gave us so much confidence. ‘Empty Sky’ was lovely, but it was very naive. We went on to do more esoteric stuff like ‘Take Me to the Pilot,’ of course, but musically, this was a big step forward. And the older I get, the more I sing these lyrics, and the more they resonate with me.”

Updated Song Interpretations

This was originally updated and sent to some non 1975 Fans. So it is sort of written that way.

Track 1: Fortnight

Nothing overly specific or notable.

Could also just be referencing the fact that he now lives mostly in the US it appears. Between LA and NYC most likely.

Or when he started working with Jack and showed up in “her backyard”

"I love you, but it’s ruining my life" could have also been something Matty said to her, or her to him. Would work either way.

For the music video- just a side by side photo comparing her music video to parts of his "Part of The Band" music video and his tour.

The main notable thing being she was the white queen and he was the black king. She also included a dog like his black dog (who is hilariously named Mayhem)

Also the music video copying her old music video for Style.

Also a possible reference/ play on words to Mattys love of building forts, discussed later.

Track 2: The Tortured Poets Dept

Pretty clear cut song, but some info.

Matty has mentioned his love of typewriters multiple times.

Matty is known for self-sabotaging and has admitted it multiple times.

Possibly brought up specifically him eating chocolate to relate back to his song chocolate.

“You awaken with dread, pounding nails in your head” Matty suffers from terrible nightmares and migraines, which he has talked about multiple times.

Lucy being Lucy Daccus from “Boy Genius” - who notably told him to F off after he tried to make a tweet about her, after the break-up

Him moving a ring from her middle finger to her ring finger just seems like such a Matty play to me lol. I can’t tell if that is just his MO and something he does or if that was truly sincere. He is too bipolar for me to stand by him on that one hahahah

"But you should have seen him when he first got me" All I can think of is Matty at most of the shows from his birthday 2023 till when they went public in Nashville. He was beaming almost every single night on stage and seemed so content at a lot of those shows.

"I'll build you a fort on some planet. Where they can all understand it. How dare you think it's romantic, leaving me safe and stranded". Reference to Matty's fort. Taylor saying she could figure out a way where they could have their love and his fort and she could make people understand. Him instead leaving her stranded to "save her".

“All your indecent exposures, how dare you say that it’s…..” The fact he can’t keep his mouth shut and all the dumb shit he has said in the past on podcasts specifically lol

Track 5: So Long, London

Truly a song for London as the main plot. After like 5-6 English boyfriends that never worked, she is done with the city. Matty was the last one......

"I stopped CPR, after all, its no use" A line relating back to her final song to Joe "You're losing me"

"Two Graves, One Gun" I think songs really relates to pieces of both Joe and Matty and the city.

Track 6: But Daddy I Love Him

A song about the fans that dragged/attacked him and was sending him and his family death threats, trying to put her in a conservatorship etc.

"They slammed the door on my whole world. The one thing I wanted" She was finally happy and she had professed that before playing the secret song Question? while Matty was at the show. She said she was the happiest she had ever been and everything made sense for her. But instead of being happy for her, they slammed the door in her face and ruined it.

"I'm having his baby, No I'm not, but you should see your faces" A very funny line, thats a little unusual for her. Trying to make a funnier album then Mattys album? He prides himself on being funny in his lyrics, but especially for BFIAFL

“Tendrils tucked into a woven braid” - We always felt the braid was there as a call out to Matty, so this is just funny to me. She was always trying to show him she wanted him back, which we delusional guessed but thought we were truly crazy.

"We came back when the heat died down. Went to my parents and they came around". Referring to when they tried to date in 2014/2015/2016 And then coming back around in 2023? Or referencing when we assume they broke up in early July- then the rumors they were still trying to work something out after that.

“Even my daddy just loves him” Matty was seen with her dad at most of the shows, never her mom lol

Track 7: Fresh Out the Slammer

Confirmation that Matty and T were something prior to her and Joe being completely finished.

"Splintered back in winter, silent dinners, bitter". Winter of 2021 or 2022?

"Camera Flashes, Welcome Bashes. Get the matches, toss the ashes off the ledge" - She was ready to go public and knew it would get negative attention. She was fine with burning it all down.

"Starting Line” reference, which is one of Mattys favorite old bands and he sang them during his tour while they were dating.

Florida was the first Eras tour she did after her breakup with Joe was announced. Otherwise nothing major here I noticed yet. I am sure we are missing something though. I wonder if this song is something personal to them.

Song about wanting to be with Matty while still with Joe. How to be as close to him as possible without actually cheating.

“Is it a wonder I broke? Let’s hear one more joke” A reference to Matty always trying to make a joke out of everything.

"Your arson’s match, your somber eyes” - His self-sabotage again and his sad eyes.

I love this goofy little song so much.

Her doing the Chicago shows and beyond after him leaving. Also maybe a slight at the fact he was breaking down on stage off and on his entire tour, but she was trucking along.

“Lights, Camera, Bitch Smile” - is one of my favorite lines on this album in general.

"I'm so depressed, I act like it's my birthday". Another funny line.

“I cry a lot, but I am so productive” She was destroyed, but she was touring and getting this entire album together.

"I keep finding his things in drawers. Crucial evidence, I didn't imagine the whole thing" The Damn Beatles Shirt of his she kept showing up in not long after they broke up.

“All the pieces of me shattered, As the crowd was chanting More!" "as the crowd cheers for an overdose", a Matty lyric from the song Paris. And obviously she has a song Paris too.

Track 14: The Smallest Man

The sigh........

"They just ghosted you, now you know what it feels like" Oh Matty….. the king of ghosting women. He is a true child…..

"Were you sent by someone who wanted me dead? Did you sleep with a gun underneath our bed? Were you writing a book? Were you a sleeper cell spy? In fifty years will all this be declassified?" Taylors confusion about if it was real or just a "bit". Reminding me of the Radio 1 performance and Matty mentioning the possibility of “is it a bit, or is it sincere" in his lab coat. Referencing back to her wondering if it was all an experiment. But that is something Matty says and comments on all the time…... About what is real and what is not, so also sort of just a fascination he has had his entire career. Also reference to the fact he says he has been sort of writing a book/ movie/ documentary for ages and its never gotten done.

"You'll slide into inboxes and slip through the bars" Matty's MO of finding random girls to date. Finding them on instagram, following them and then showing up with them a few weeks later.

"You crashed my party and your rental car" Reference to him crashing his rental car in LA after returning from Malaysia. No idea why I find it so funny that she knew about this.

"You said normal girls were boring, but you were gone by morning" Referencing that the “normal” instagram girls like Meredith, Ana and Charlotte were boring. The girls who weren’t really “famous" or artists.

"You kicked out the stage lights, but you're still performing" - reference to the fact that no one can tell when he is performing or when he is being real. He's not on stage, but he's performing.

Song about Travis with the quirky goofy football lines.

“These chemicals hit me like white wine” A reference to Travis being white wine after Matty (and his known love of red wine) He switched to Whisky from red wine on the tour after Taylor. He has a line in his song “Give yourself a try” about growing up and how “whisky never starts to taste nice”.

"The hospital was a drag" - The perceived psych hospital she was in after Matty

"I haven't been around in so long, but I am making a comeback to where I below" Referencing dating an American again?

"He said its Heroin, but this time with an "e"” Travis talking about her being his Heroine instead of Matty talking about his struggle with Heroin. I really didn't know where this song was going, but I did see a theory on twitter that it may be about dating her almost ruined Mattys career and I could totally see that.

"If you want to tear my world apart, just say you've always wondered". When Matty and her re-connected he must have said he always wondered what they could be if they tried again (or something along those lines). Then he tore her world apart.

"And if you have some kids with an internet starlet, will that make your memory fade from this scarlet maroon" A throwback to Maroon being about Matty. A song she played over and over as her "secret song" for Era's. She also played Maroon in LA. When Slut! was apparently supposed to have been released.

"Will I always wonder" Because he ghosted and she never got closure.

Decently Straight Forward. This song was the one that made me cry on first listen.

"No sign of soulmates" "I'm afraid I sealed my fate. No sign of soulmates" I think she truly thought Matty was always her soulmate. No matter who she was with, she kept faith they could always still work out. Now she truly feels she has nothing left to hold onto.

sewing updates etc

yeah the holidays were so fucking hectic and all i’ve wanted to do was sew and i just have not had time.

we’re coming down to the wire, there’s less than a month left before we leave for our trip, and i have seven garments i still want to make, plus two muslins. BUT of those, three of them are patterns I’ve already muslined, and the ones I need muslins for, I have one of them already cut out and just waiting to be sewn up.

(I also have just cleaned my entire house to the point of being able to rearrange furniture in the living room. i threw out pay stubs from 2014. i’ve been real busy ok.)

I don’t have time to find photos to put in here, but. So far, I’ve finished one thing-- the merino jersey Turner dress-- which is not for the trip but I did wear it for Christmas. Yay! Setting that aside.

1) i’ve also finished a maroon linen Honeybourne dress, which can go on this trip probably. It needs a little more hemming, I’m progressing steadily on that.

2) And I’m entirely done with the bodice of another Kineton dress (i did the muslin of that one recently, elastic waist v-neck with pockets) in linen rayon, and I just have to do the waistband and skirt and then hem the bottom and that will be done. Might machine-hem that one for time.

3) I next will cut out and make another version of the same dress, in green cotton double gauze, with the skirt lengthened but left with side slits so I don’t have to make it fuller-- that I intend for a beach coverup, and it will be opaque enough to wear for daywear as well, and will have pockets. I might make the pockets bigger.

(I actually did muslin just the sleeves for this one, as I wasn’t sure how the flutter sleeve armscyes worked-- I cut out a version of the Kineton bodice and changed the shape of the center front to make it a crop wrap top, and it went together and worked so beautifully that I’m just going to pop a lining in there and then bias-bind the lower edge and make waist ties, and now I have a flutter-sleeved linen gauze wrap top that I can wear with sleeveless tops for sun coverage, and it’s small enough that i can cram it in my purse or tie it around my purse strap like a scarf if it’s too hot to wear it.)

I muslined the Avola slip dress in cotton and it fits well enough, I can now make it in final fabrics-- I want to do several in silk, but I am going to postpone that until after the trip. For now, I will try make two in linen, to bring-- one a camisole top, one a knee-length dress. They are easy and go together quickly. So, 4) and 5).

6) I am going to make the Rockwell dress without a muslin, from cotton voile. I had woven a waistband for it, but I just found fabric in my stash I could use to make the neck binding from and I might just do more bias tape for the waistband of that as well, while I’m doing it. i’ll have to see.

and 7) I also have an idea for a reversible dress I want to do, from a pattern I’ve made hacked with a technique I saw on the Internet, and that would be super neat to make and I think it would go together easily, but I might put it off for last and see how fast I can progress on these other projects.

Oh right but 8) I have a muslin all cut out, have for months, of the knit scoop-neck top/dress pattern that I want to make two of for this trip, and I couldn’t find the fucking pattern directions so I’ve finally given up searching and today printed off another copy. I have the damn thing cut out! I just need to put it together! And if it does, this should also be very simple and easy and quick to make more of, and i badly want at least one for this trip. So like. this is just a long list.

I just haven’t had any fucking time to work on this! I’ve gotten a lot done but I swear every other day someone wants me to come over or I have to go do some errand or I have to spend six hours on this other thing or whatever. If I just had like... several days, which I could spend sewing, i’d be done with all of this in no time. Maybe now that the holidays are done, I can make this happen.

We’ll see.

Tonight I need to cut out that beach coverup dress I think. I think I have time to work on some of this stuff. What’s been crucial for me so far is to have a good mix of machine-sewing and cutting out and such, which I do in the basement when I’m good and awake, vs hand-sewing and finishing and such, which I can do on the couch while watching stupid YouTube or whatever. So the key for me is to get stuff from the basement done while I have the brainspace for it, and stockpile couch-sitting work so I can work on it when I’m fit only for zoning out.

2015 Sing-Off tour

The first Sing-Off national tour in 2014 was a rousing success. So, even though the show's fifth "season" was reduced to a one-night holiday special, the second tour was expanded. The schedule was nearly twice as long, packing in 56 cities over the course of 9 weeks.

Rehearsals

The singers didn't document their rehearsals for the second tour the way they did the year before. Why? Because the VoicePlay guys lost most of the first of their two allotted practice days to weather related flight troubles. Once they finally made it to upstate New York, it was crunch time on the group numbers with their new compatriots to be ready for opening night.

Performances

Not only did the second tour visit more cities, for one night it was also livestreamed through Live Nation. Thanks to the forethought of an Exchange fan, the full Louisville concert from March 25th — including season 5 winners the Vanderbilt Melodores — has been archived in one convenient place.

Addenda

Award-winning barbershop quartet Forefront weren't included in the streamed video, but they did a great job warming up the crowd at the Louisville show.

Although they didn't perform it for the streamed concert, VoicePlay and Street Corner Symphony's cover of "Don't" by Ed Sheeran that had served as the tour announcement was included in at least some of the shows during the tour. There is a video of it from Red Bank, NJ.

Because they'd used most of their songs from the competition during the previous tour, VoicePlay's set was comprised of numbers from their established stage rotation, a recent addition to their "Aca Top 10" series, and one medley exclusive to the tour that featured video clips from some of their season 4 compatriots.

At the Seattle show, The Exchange slipped a version of "Can't Hold Us" by local boy Macklemore into their set.

The eldest Lister brother, Richie, was on the tour with Street Corner Symphony for the first few weeks, then handed his microphone off to Kaleb Jones for the rest of the run.

While Layne was away for one weekend to be in his sister's wedding, first Richie Steighner from The Exchange, and then VoicePlay's hometown pal Antonio Fernandez stepped in to cover percussion.

Shenanigans & reunions

When you put 16 creative guys in close quarters for two months straight, they're going to get up to some nonsense eventually. During this tour, it manifested most notably in the form of a Nerf war that then escalated to water guns and Super Soakers.

Of course, sometimes their friendly combat happened in the form of many colorful pixels.

Video games are a great way to pass the time on the road and make friends.

And sometimes they just enjoyed each other's talents.

VoicePlay tossing Twinkies into the crowd every night meant that sometimes they needed to resupply, which Hostess apparently helped out with.

Surprisingly, one of their victims auditioners early in the tour turned out to be a Paul Simon fan.

♫ "Why am I soft in the middle, now? Why am I soft in the middle? The rest of my life is so hard." ♫

Swinging through Florida meant that VoicePlay's family and friends could attend one (or more) of the shows.

Guess which of their significant others hadn't worked in entertainment. Hint: It's the one who heard the photographer call for a "kiss pic" and went in for a full snog.

And their buddies in The Edge Effect joined them as the opening act for two of those three dates.

Having a day off at home also allowed Tony to pick up everyone's favorite member of the backstage crew.

Fletcher is a good boy, and friend to all.

Emoni Wilkins, VoicePlay's partner in crime for the first Sing-Off Tour, popped in to visit during their shows in Nashville and Louisville.

One of their rare days off in Minneapolis coincided with a break in Home Free's touring schedule, so Tim Foust came to hang out with his Sing-Off colleagues.

The Filharmonic from The Sing-Off season 4 and the first tour were the openers for all three southern California stops. Jeremy Lewis from the AcoUstiKats also came to visit at the Los Angeles show.

Jazz a cappella group m-pact opened for the Riverside, CA show, which reunited VoicePlay with their pal Jarrett Johnson, who had helped with their 2012 album, "Once Upon An Ever After".

The boys got to see DeeDee Yancey again when Ten opened for the final two nights in Dallas and Houston.

Side trips & meal times

There wasn't much time in the schedule for tourist activities, but some of the guys did manage to see a few sights.

And there were many snacks and meals along the way.

Press coverage

There were several nice write-ups about the show in various outlets, both before and during its run, as well as a few television appearances.

A pre-tour interview with Geoff covered the a cappella scene in general and gave hints of the tour to come. The resulting article by Alan Sculley appeared in both The Sun Chronicle (Attleboro, MA) and the Detroit Free Press.

A very nice recap of the Providence, RI show by Jathan Fink was published on the website for the New Bedford, MA talk radio station and on his personal blog.

When the tour passed back through NYC, VoicePlay stopped in to visit with Nick Lachey at his new gig on VH1's Big Morning Buzz. The guys also got to meet actress Jane Lynch and social media darling ToastMeetsWorld while they were there. The video doesn't seem to be available anywhere anymore, but there are still a few pictures.

Alix Jansma of Boston University's Daily Free Press had nothing but praise for music director Deke Sharon — an alumnus of both Tufts University and Berklee College of Music — and the tour itself, particularly VoicePlay's set.

Local outlets in Florida were, of course, proud to have VoicePlay bringing the show back to their home state. The Broward Palm Beach New Times had a nice preview interview with Geoff by Natalya Jones for the Coral Springs stop, and Boca Raton Magazine published a lovely recap.

Crew member Jacklyn Krol provided a backstage peek on the Stage Right Secrets blog.

The VoicePlay boys had an early morning appearance on the local NBC affiliate in Kansas City to promote the tour, show off their talents, and give the hosts an impromptu a cappella lesson:
