1x01 the Nigerian Job
the first scene really establishes who Nate is: hotel bar, he'll punch you for bringing up his son
The introduction flashback scenes are so good (Eliot's is so dramatic)
Parker lived in Kansas City as a kid??
20 pounds of crazy in a five pound bag
I don't understand how the vents at the top of roofs work
Basketball playoffs almost blowing the whole job
Why the sink in the hall????
"That's what I do." Hardison nodding appreciatively
Nate begging them to talk to him but later he won't be able to get them to shut up
All the plans! No plan M though
The boys turning their backs in the elevator despite Parker not caring if they see her change
Eliot's Boston accent when they get to the lobby
Nate pulling up in the car for their first getaway scene, which is paralleled in the season finale
"You're the only one who's ever played both sides" Eliot are you accusing him of betrayal or being bisexual
The way they all act in the hospital is very telling about who they are: Eliot cuffed to a chair instead of a bed and immediately noticing Nate's hatred of hospitals, Parker of course already freed herself, Hardison sitting cross legged on his bed and trying to talk Parker into getting him out too

Yes I read MacBeth in school but I go an academic team question about it correct because of the MacBeth scene in this episode
Sophie is the embodiment of "you don't have to be good at your hobby to enjoy it"

Eleventy billion dollars

I just noticed that Nate is wearing his original headset still instead of Hardison's earbuds, unlike the rest of the crew
This episode also sets up the trend of the marks setting their own trap by calling the authorities themselves and being shocked when they get arrested instead
I always thought the young guy with Dubinich was his assistant or something but based on the meeting I think he's the head engineer? He looks like twenty years old?
The fact that they actually are Nigerians (when watching for the first time I was so confused where they got other grifters to help them out)
The FBI agent's face when Dubenich runs away is so exasperated
"Sir I can take your underpants" why is this agent my new favorite minor character (other than Liam and Connor of course)
The shredded paper raining down on the FBI agents + the crew doing their walk out
Their true goal being to just crash the stock (Hardison is so good at what he does)

justice for sam
If the spnepisodebracket craze has shown us anything, it's that the supernatural fanbase is extremely divided, with the lowly sam stan seemingly at the bottom of the pile. sam is always last in polls, so this is a bracket for the 10% or so who always votes for him. because yeah, there's 327 episodes of Supernatural, but how many are popular because of a dean or destiel moment? how many good episodes are drowned out because they focus on sam?
i've chosen, with some crowdsourced peer review (special thanks to @spneveryseason, @suncaptor, and @ambersock!) 125 episodes that are Sam Relevant. Some are extremely sam-centric, some just have a shot where sam looks like he's being crucified that gives me brain worms -- i tried to be generous about it to keep a relatively even seasons distribution! matchups will be random and polls will last 24 hours each. in the tradition of @spnepisodebracket (who this is obviously inspired by and would not be possible without!) i'll try to rb a gifset for every episode in the poll!
a final note: no this is not that serious but the criteria for voting here should be how good the episode is as a SAM episode, not as anything else, so please vote accordingly! i am making this for people who actually enjoy sam and if that is not you, then this is not the poll for you!

Your top 5 Lucy is a confident badass moments
Ooooh! I was not expecting this question and it took me a while to figure out a complete answer. I'm also 100% sure I missed some because I didn't comb through every episode or anything. And let's be honest, she's a badass all. the. time.
In no particular order:
#1: DOD and everything in the aftermath
I mean. I don't even need to explain this one, right? Our girl has some serious grit. She's fierce and she's smart and she's a fighter and she never ever gives up, not even in the aftermath when she's faced with working through the worst trauma of her life. And yes, trauma forever changes you, but the fact that she's just as kind and empathetic on the other side is amazing.
#2: 3x06 UC op
The way she just dives in headfirst and comes up with a backstory on the fly? And then digs up all that Tagalog and chemistry knowledge from years ago to keep her cover and keep herself alive? I'm firmly of the belief that long-term undercover work isn't a good fit for Lucy and the life she wants, but there's absolutely no doubt that she's an incredibly skilled UC.
#3: 3x13-14 UC preparation and op
Every piece of her storyline in these two episodes is badass, but really the moment that stands out to me the most is the very end of 3x13 when Nyla organizes the fake kidnapping. You can see it's triggered her so so badly, and watching her ground herself and then talk their way out of it highlights her grit and tenacity.
#4: 5x11 domestic violence storyline
That scene in Kyra's house could have ended so badly. It was really just the perfect combination of badassery and empathy that only Lucy could manage that kept everyone alive.
(I can't find a gif of that moment, this was the closest one)
#5: 5x22 fight scene
Everything about this scene. The fact that Lucy is the one with the plan and that Tim just executes it without question. The fact that they take out so many of these guys. The fact that they make it out alive. This is really more of a Chenford are badass scene but I'm including it here anyway. It was 100% a team effort; neither one of them could have managed this alone.
Honorable mentions:
1x01: arresting the guy on her way in
I mean, what an entrance. From day one, even when she stumbles right out of the gate with Tim, you know she has it in her!
Standing up to Tim from 1x01-2x01
I know this is badass in a different way, but it took some serious guts to call him out. The man was like a bomb waiting to go off, and he could have ended her career at any time, and yet she really never hesitated.
2x07 in the booby trapped house
Again, the grit and tenacity on display here is impressive.
4x05 laundry room scene
I think all of us were Tamara in that moment lol.
5x07 and every other UC moment not listed above

watching tos for the first time since like, roughly 2012/13-ish? i don't remember what year it was, or why i only got thru most of season 1 before stopping
it's been fun to refresh my swiss cheesed memory with this tho so here's a semi-liveblog of the first 10 eps that i watched over the past couple weeks
1x01 - the man trap
things i remembered beforehand:

1x02 - charlie x
things i remembered:
jim's bright red exercise pants
that stupid fucking face charlie makes when he uses his powers
not liking this ep at all when i first watched it, possibly due to me being around the same age as charlie at the time
additional thoughts: i enjoyed it more this time and felt more sympathetic for charlie. poor kid needed some parents, and also, like, a hug
1x03 - where no man has gone before

the women are color coded like the powerpuff girls lol
they're also like, on some kind of drug that keeps them looking young or something
cool costumes tho
i don't have much to say about this one lol, harry's a fun character but the rest of the ep wasn't super interesting to me. did finally learn how to pronounce "ophiuchus" tho so i'll thank it for that
1x07 - what are little girls made of
things remembered:
is this the penis rock episode (it is)
uhhh i think kirk gets put into some kind of spinny machine that makes androids (he does)
more cool costumes (debatable)
things i find funny:
the number of planets we've encountered so far that are populated by like. 2-4 people
the way ruk (the big guy) just picks up and throws kirk like he weighs nothing
so much buildup with kirk and the penis rock and he doesn't even get to hit ruk over the head with it smh
also not a funny moment but i liked the way kirk was able to get a message to spock thru the android kirk, v clever
wait i just realized bones wasn't in this ep either. deducting 1/4 of a star from my mental rating bc i missed him (but apparently not that much)
1x08 - miri

i remember skipping episodes in season 1 (i was impatient and wanted to get to city on the edge of forever) but i thought i'd at least made it to halfway thru the season before skipping any
anyway did i mention this ep is fucked up? (star trek really does love to drop an absolutely haunting 50 minutes of television on you and then never address it again, i understand this now. roll credits!)

Round 1 Finished!
Round 1 polls have all ended! Winners and the percentage by which they won are below the cut. Any episode that won by less than 20% is bolded.
A few notes on the winners:
Only 17 out of 48 winners are from the post-Kripke era.
No episodes from seasons 10 or 15 made it into Round 2.
While the majority of polls were sweeps, the closest race by far was Pac-Man Fever v. Into the Mystic, with PMF coming out on top by 0.6% in the end.
Most polls had around 200-250 votes, with a few outliers in the more controversial polls. Group 24 (3x03 v 3x08 v 6x13) had 446 votes, Group 4 (3x11 v 13x19 v 1x10) had 454 votes, and Group 9 (2x17 v 7x17 v 4x13) had 497 votes.
Only 2 of the 10 episodes from season 5 didn't make it, with one of them losing out to another s5 episode (Swap Meat to Changing Channels). This makes season 5 the most represented season going into Round 2.

do you think at some point an enemy will use callum’s fierce temper against him?
That's a good question because it's hard to tell, honestly
Obviously people - and Callum - can (or have) let their emotions get the better of him. We see this in moments where he blows up at Ezran (1x01 and 1x09) but we see it most directly affect the plot with Rayla when his anger distracts him from other things (1x06 with the avalanche, although the same can be said for her) and then in 3x08 and TTM when his temper gets the better of him and is one of their obstacles in having like, a productive conversation (aka he's usually right, but his presentation is what gets screwed up)
However Callum is all about connecting experiences to each other? He goes out into the storm in 2x04 because it makes him feel the way the fulminus spell did. He thought his first magic spell would be like all his previous attempts to be good at something. He doesn't believe Ezran in 1x09 because "The last time he did this I asked him to prove it" and it didn't go well. It's also why he typically learns so wholeheartedly from his experiences (although not always) like when he takes a risk at the Banther Lodge vs being the one who's worried about walking into a town of humans a few episodes later.
Which is a long winded way of saying could someone use Callum's emotions or tunnel vision against him, and how it manifests may be anger depending on the situation? 100% - man's charged into Ez's room thinking he was running into a trap with zero backup and no idea of what may be going on, and Callum has always had a reckless "act first think later" when he's very driven about something (i.e. trying out Claudia's lightning spell without knowing the second half) because he's so focused on the end goal. Which like, someone like Rayla can have too, but Idk if feels like it manifests differently?? She's reckless too but pessimistic about it; Callum is reckless about shit and optimistic about it, I suppose
But yeah Callum can definitely think with his foot in his mouth and just toss himself into things / let his emotions get the better of him (S4 is a really fine dance with this and super interesting so maybe I'll talk about it more another time), I don't see why anger wouldn't be one of them
I do think the most likely thing a villain would use against him is his lack of self control (sometimes) or loved ones (endlessly devoted) though
