For fart (fan art) purposes, what weapons are Vasco trained in? I assume he's a skilled swordsman, but I'm wondering what types of ranged weaponry he knows, if any. As for the anxious tissue, Machete, I know he's sickly and frail, with staggering amounts of catholic guilt weighing him down but, hypothetically if he did train in any weapon, what could you see befitting him?
Hmm, you're right, Vasco is primarily a swordsman and like many nobles of his time, his sword of choice is the elegant and lightweight rapier. He was trained thoroughly and knows how to use it, but most of the time the sword serves as a fashion accessory and a status symbol, he isn't the type to get into duels left and right.
Vasco enjoys hunting. There's no reason why he couldn't use traditional bow and arrow but I think he would prefer a crossbow. Early firearms had already become common at the time and I could picture him with something like a wheellock or flintlock pistol or rifle. I'm sure there's people who could tell you a lot about 16th century guns but I don't know enough about them to give an in-depth answer myself.
Machete carries a hidden stiletto for self defence. He isn't completely useless with it and luckily you don't need to be terribly athletic to wield one, but his technique leaves a lot to be desired. And since he's chronically anemic any physical activity tends to get him winded and woozy pretty quickly. He's extremely risk-averse (others could say cowardly) and he does his best to not get into any dangerous situations to begin with, or leaving as soon as things start to escalate.

i was thinking of ghost of tsushima and then remembered another franchise with 'assassins' in japan - sengoku basara. an its around the time of ezio's era. just something interesting to share. especially since shinobi of that era have clans that serve a lord - and there was one that her clan to serve her enemy lord. the looks when there is a group of assassin's that don't have/serve a lord.
… Nonny…
I love Sengoku Basara.
It’s so over the top and they just keep going.
I can just see Desmond going…
Tumblr media
What.
Tumblr media
What???
Tumblr media
WHAT.
But, in all seriousness, if we’re going for a Sengoku Basara crossover, Ezio’s time would be the nearest (the Sengoku era technically from 15th to 16th century but Basara fuck everything up by putting the ‘main’ characters as adults around the same time period) so this could be a case of Desmond getting knocked smack in the middle of Sengoku Basara during 3’s story (known as Samurai Warriors when localized) because 3 has an English translation and it’s set between the fight between the Western and Eastern army.
This gives Desmond a more muddied place to be in because both armies sorta have dubious reasons to be considered as the ‘right’ side… sorta.
Plus, this takes Oda and Hideyoshi out of the picture, both clear ‘villains’ (although an argument could be made for Hideyoshi… sorta)
Also, this gives me an excuse to mess with Desmond’s reason for being here.
Because when he wakes up, he’s in a bed of red spider lilies and there’s a woman crying by his side. When he gets up, she calls him “Brother” and tells him that “Ichi will be good. Ichi will do as brother says.”
And Desmond is confused but also worried because it was clear that the woman (Ichi? Was her name Ichi?) was not in her right mind.
She believes he’s her brother and she has shadowy hands that come from the ground around her and…
He has no idea where he is.
Before he can get his bearings, they get attacked by an army that was passing the abandoned village they were in because they’re on their way to the next battle and it’s the Western Army so Yoshitsugu’s there and he knows just how valuable the woman with Desmond is. And Desmond just runs with Ichi because it was clear that all these weaponry is agitating the shadow hands and he doesn’t know enough to know if killing them would be a good thing.
By the end of it, Desmond is now a fugitive because he’s ‘harboring’ the last remaining Oda to the Western Army which got misunderstood as ‘kidnapping’ to the Eastern Army.
At this point, Desmond just wants to get out of here because (1) there were so many weird things happening and Desmond’s thought that maybe Ichi had a POE or ‘consumed’ a POE no longer holds any weight because everyone has powers and shit AND (2) he learned that this is around Ezio’s era so he wants to find Ezio and ask for his help about all these?
He takes Ichi with him because Ichi is a grenade and it was clear Desmond is the one holding the pin (he has no idea why???) and… yeah… he truly did want to help her.
But he is being hunted by everyone else.
Unorganized Notes:
Ichi (Oichi) sees Desmond as her brother but she never, not even once, called her ‘Nobunaga’ so it’s unclear if she sees him as Nobunaga or not. If this was in Japanese, she would be calling him ‘Onii-sama’ even though she calls Nobunaga ‘Nii-sama’ which is meant to hint that she actually doesn’t see Desmond as Nobunaga and thinks of him as someone of higher standing than Nobunaga. I don’t really know how to translate that to English though unless I start writing this with specific Japanese words…
Desmond gets powers (holy shit) and related to shadows and being able to teleport short distances for assassination (aka: Basim's teleporting assasinations). In Desmond's eyes, it feels like he's glitching to the next target, but to the eyes of everyone else, it's like he appears as a puff of black smoke and shadow-like tendrils leave his target for a few seconds. (whether this is connected to Ichi calling him 'brother' is questionable)
You can totally pair Desmond with anyone in Sengoku Basara. His relationship with Ichi is meant to be on the side of familial, as siblings or even Desmond taking on a sorta parental role.
The plot twist is that Ezio actually sails to Japan around the time Desmond actually gets a way to leave Japan (maybe by making a deal with Motochika?). He has no idea why everyone has powers but he will reunite with Desmond later on and they would realize that the Japan that Ezio knows about is definitely not the Japan they’re in. To be more exact, Ezio comes from the AC world like Desmond but, when he sailed to Japan, he was transported to Sengoku Basara’s Japan. They start to believe that their connection is what led Ezio to Desmond.
This becomes all the stranger when Ezio actually gets to Sengoku Basara by shipwreck and all he remembers is the ship he was in was sailing through a terrible storm. That clues Desmond into realizing Ezio was on his way to Masyaf.
If anyone is gonna take a side, it’s gonna be Ezio and Desmond would just go with it because he trusts Ezio.

An english glaive from the 15th century
Tumblr media
This particular example was sold at an auction by Christies, and is one of the few rare surviving examples of a 15th century English polearm, most likely dating somewhere around the mid-late century around the Wars of the Roses.
While commonly the polearm associated with England in this period tends to be the bill this doesn't share the whole story. Bills do show up a good amount in 15th century accounts, however soldiers are also commonly mentioned to show up with glaives as well, and many simply have spears/lances (lance in historical accounts is synonymous with spear, and does not strictly imply a cavalry polearm).
In the Bridport muster roll of 1457 for example 10 people are mentioned to own glaives while 8 people own bills, and the wording in many documents of the time tends to contain both glaives and bills as common weaponry for footsoldiers.
In one of the manuscript rolls of Edward IV, the BL Harley MS 7353, the footsoldiers can in some of the panels be vaguely seen holding glaives. The manuscript, once adorned with silver leaf for metallic higlights, has unfortunately now tarnished and the details of the armour and weaponry is hard to make out. The panel below shows the clearest example of one:
Tumblr media
However this doesn't entirely share the full story either. 'Glaive' is a term which historically speaking is very broad, and does include bills in it, as well as lances and various other weapons. The weapon pictured above is commonly known as a glaive in english due to it lacking a more specific name, however the term itself was not created specifically for it. What this means is that if a document mentions a glaive we don't always know what this weapon is supposed to be. Even in the case of the Bridport roll mentioned earlier where bills, spears and glaives are noted down as separate weapons - implying they are not synonymous - we must allow for the possibility of a few of the mentions possibly overlapping if more than one person recorded things in the roll itself. Meaning that all of the mentions of glaive could be talking about the weapon type above, or maybe some of them do indeed refer to spears or bills. We have no way of being certain.
However the presence of the archeological find above, alongside at least two others of the same type also found associated with England in this period does certainly imply it is a common type of polearm regardless. Moreover in the very few 15th century artworks we have of english soldiers, glaives (as known in the modern sense) do pop up at least as much as bills. The popularity of the bill as potrayed in modern media, as an ubiqutous english weapon, does not seem to be a thing in 15th century sources. Perhaps this is a thing which begun in the 16th century, or perhaps it is more of a modern construction alltogether. I might explore this in a future post but until then; take care.

OH HOH HO Hello!! Happy Friday indeed! I am taking a sceenshot of this ask so I can answer it on my spn blog lmao
🤔🤔🤔 what a fun question to consider!! I'm not one who is well versed in different types of weaponry, but I will do my best to answer anyway! What does Cas normally fight with?
Tumblr media
A tri-bladed dagger, or angel blade. What's interesting to me about angel blades is that, while they are used essentially by all angels, they don't seem to be that versatile of a weapon. They're short range, so they only work best for close combat-- well, unless hurled at more distant enemies, as is so often the case on the show (which is very fun and sexy of them imo). Given the tri-blade design, it also appears that they are most frequently used for piercing rather than slashing. It's a neat design, but I have to imagine its use is rather limited to only a few types of combat.
Castiel is a soldier. One would expect him to have a weapon capable of serving him well under a wide variety of circumstances, and do more damage per attack than a single stab wound (to be fair to the angel blade, the triangle design would make suturing wounds incredibly difficult, so, I certainly wouldn't want to be stabbed with it)
I think a Halberd might be a good option!
Tumblr media
Halberds are a 5-6 ft long pike with an axe blade and hook. Slashing, piercing, yanking enemies off mounts; this bad boy is very versatile for all kinds of ranged combat! They were used by the Swiss soldiers in the 15th and 16th centuries, who would often have a Schweizerdolch (a type of Swiss dagger) for close range combat. So angel blade can stay lol
I also just think it would be really fun to see him twirl that thang around like quiznos sign.

IRYS IS CENTURIES YEARS OLD by now , born in the 16th century ( 1500s ) , putting her in the 500s in terms of age . she was born in early december , where the lands in Poland were cold , dying off for the winters , near the city of częstochowa . her family name suggests she was of noble birth ------ gryf , meaning "gryphon" in polish , was a commonly used name in noble circles during the medieval era throughout the country . by the time she was born , however , that era was quickly coming to a close , historically speaking . She had only a single sibling , a sister , but a had numerous cousins & other relatives from both sides . most of her childhood was split between częstochowa & kraków , as her parents would often have business to conduct between two cities . she came from a noble family of quincy ( i personally believe that Polish quincy could easily exist , given they're geographical neighbors ) . established quincy houses of worship & training facilities exist throughout europe , in my vision . they are usually very hidden , though , on earth .
her hobbies , as a child , included horseback riding, duelling / fencing , hunting , and dancing . all of these persist until the modern era . she loves to keep busy , physically moving .
during this era , lichtreich had fallen centuries ago , and the wandenreich had been building itself for a number of years . she was informed about this happening , knowing well that Irys herself was to eventually be drafted among its hidden ranks , but she didn't know when . most of her mortal life was spent training, thusly, for an empire she had never even been to , but had met with liasons & heard plenty of stories about . this harboured resentment at the time , aimed at her parents & superiors . despite her feelings , it was clear that irys was quite the progidy among quincy her age , and she had spent a lot of her days within a convent dedicated to sending new recruits to the wandenreich . her parents had approved of such , as irys had a natural talent of combat , hinting at a bloodthirst previously dormant to them .
wandenreich recruitments travelled between the realm of the schattenbeireich & the mortal realm via shadows . at the request of the empire , irys was to be brought to the wandenreich , as her combative prowess had caught the eye of many a sternritter looking for a capable second-in-command . their tests had proved her more than worthy of joining their ranks . so , she had bid goodbye to her family , and her homeland , journeying into the schattenbeireich . this empire of shadows was a perfect hiding place for the quincy to orchestrate their strikes back against the numerous shinigami wars .
numerous sternritter had optioned for her join their jagdarmee , but quilge opie , hunting captain of jagdarmee eins , had advocated for her the most under his command . chosen by him personally , irys was thusly assigned to train under quilge and would live within the barracks of the first hunting party .
though not a sternritter in title or rank , she is sworn to serve the wandreich and has thus received immortality . she has not aged since her late 20s .
when it comes to combat , irys is skilled in numerous weaponry , as per quige's trainings . she is an expert at swords , spears , axes and bows , and even more unusual & niche weapons , such as whips . she prefers not to use anything in her free hand , should it be open , though she does know how to use shields , forms of quincy magick ( der Zauber ) , and can effectively dual-wield , but those are all very situational for her . she doesn't enjoy daggers , and doesn't usually like blunt weaponry .
as such , irys was also trained in the ways of The Hunt . However , hunting animals had been something she had loved to do as a child , but she had never thought of hunting down humans , nor other supernatural humanoid races , only animals . adjusting to this harsh conditioning had worsened irys' bloodthirst under quilge's command , to the point where she would hardly hesitate to kill anyone at quilge's behest , should he ever say so . while the relationship between quilge & irys is one of respect and loyalty , he did make her into his image of a perfect soldier & huntress . she hardly resents him for this, though , seeing it as a small price to pay for the strength and prowess that was harnessed into a fine point ------ sharp enough to kill just about anyone or anything .
for her hard work , irys was awarded the official title of jaegerin ( huntress ) , and it is deemed formal and proper to refer to her with it .

World building and theories of Engage
Brodian Military
Brodia has a vast military housed within the many gates and garrisons that lead up to the great hall of the castle. The castle itself is a military fortress built up in a great rock with defence at its heart. In chapter 7, The Kingdom of Might, you are provided with a military installation of a ballista that can only be helmed by an archer. It is the first time you encounter such an installation, it is a sign of the military focus. In the manga, Diamant says that no one can get inside the castle.
At the start of the story, Brodia is at war with Elusia. I believe this war is loosely based on the Anglo-Scottish Wars comprising the various battles which continued to be fought between the Kingdom of England (Elusia) and the Kingdom of Scotland (Brodia) in the early 14th century through to the latter years of the 16th century. Just like the Anglo- Scottish Wars it wasn't just a war of military strength but also a propaganda war. Alcryst describes the Elusians as 'wicked' and justified military action as 'keeping their unpredictable country in check,' in Chapter 7, The Dark Emblem. Elusia's worship of the Fell Dragon and the first Divine v Fell Dragon wars make it quite easy to create a malicious stereotype of Elusia. This stereotype would aid the arguments in favour of military action. Another justification for military action is profit. The nobles certainly push for military action to increase their territory and their resources. Diamant laments the difficulty of changing the single minded focus of the nobility in his conversations with Alfred and Ivy.
Military might is the main method of social mobility. If you compare the retainers of Firene and Brodia, three out of four of the Firenze retainers come from the nobility and have a history of friendship with the royal family, whereas three out of four of the Brodian retainers come from the common folk. Amber, Jade and Lapis impressed in military tournaments to obtain their roles. Saphir is another demonstration of someone with strength gaining an important position in the Brodian military. She was originally a commoner from a fishing village.
The main units you receive when the Brodians are recruited are infantry. The infantry units mainly use physical weaponry and Lapis introduces the smash weaponry. Citrinne is an exception to the rule, She is a magical unit from the nobility and while the other characters are associated with strength, she bemoans her lack of it. This is evident in her conversations with Alcryst and Lapis. Lapis is renowned for fighting bears, Jade has earned the title of 'Iron Wall' and Amber is infamous for going off to fight monsters.
Amber is the only Brodian aided by an animal. He comes riding in on 'horsey' in Chapter 8, The Kingdom of Might. I believe the reason for this is because Brodian pride requires strength to be displayed without help. King Morion wants to fight King Hyacinth without the aid of an emblem ring. He wants to show strength without any aid. He fights Hyacinth on his own two feet. When King Morion fights King Hyacinth, the majority of the troops are infantry. Amber does not have that same sense of pride. He needs to have aid from other humans (Jade and Diamant getting him out of trouble) and animals (cuddly alpacas or his horse), even if he sometimes rues not being able to complete a job because he has had a pratful moment.
Fighting ability is an important quality in a Brodian ruler.  In Diamant's support conversation with Timerra they discuss their different ruling styles.
"I don’t think I do. I train to grow stronger so I can better protect my people."
He sees the ability to protect his people as the most important leadership quality, that could be because of a culture of competition and strength and a history of war. Despite this culture he also wants to bring peace to Brodia and end Brodia's bloody history.
"Ultimately, as leaders, I think it’s our duty to believe that peace is possible." (Conversation with Timerra)
"My father was focused on our kingdom’s affairs when he began expanding our territory by force. That singular focus is how things have always been done in Brodia…but that needs to change." (Conversation with Ivy).
Diamant understands the need to change the culture of his kingdom and the relationship to other kingdoms, he also recognises that change takes time and there will be resistance. It would be interesting to visit Brodia 1000 years in the future and see if the seeds of peace and economic changes sown by Diamant have endured.

Irish Handgunners
Hi again!
Another update, and back to Ireland again
This time I wanted to do a bit of experimenting, with both multi-basing figures, and with some different ways of painting the léine, so I decided to use a possibly slightly anachronistic unit of handgunners as test subjects!
Given how much yellow I've been painting with the Irish, I wanted to give the new yellow Games Workshop Contrast paints a spin, to see how those worked! They were very easy to apply, but I would say in this particular case I did need to use a few washes to bring down the yellow a bit, where it was approaching a very bright banana yellow rather than the warm saffron I was going for! I also wanted to try and experiment a bit with conversions of the kern figures themselves. Seeing as the unit is fairly small I wanted to avoid obvious doubles, so I've included a few kern from other sets with weapon and hand swaps to diversify the bunch This base is entirely unmodified Perry Irish handgunners
Tumblr media
This base on the other hand is entirely weapon-swaps and conversions from the other Perry and Antediluvian kern sets
Tumblr media
And the other two bases are a mix of the two
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Historically speaking, handguns were adopted fairly quickly and enthusiastically in Ireland, with many earls wasting no time in adopting gunpowder warfare towards the start of the 16th century. Although, despite this, we don't have any record for gunpowder weapons being used by the Irish contingent at Stoke, and not much to go on for Warbeck's insurrection with the earl of Desmond (although Cork was reported as using gunpowder weapons against Warbeck's forces!). For this project, the handgunners represent more of a 'late' (insofar as the first half of the 16th century can be called late!) period force, or a dip into alternate history, where France, Burgundy or the Empire decide to back up their investment in a Yorkist pretender by providing weaponry to the Irish forces as a pretty substantial force multiplier against the more conservatively equipped English. Plus the idea of an early Irish pike-and-shotte formation is a fun project, if nothing else!
And finally, here’s a few pictures of the whole bunch grouped together
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm quite happy with how they've turned out! Although, I'll probably be a little more sparing with the Contrast paints in future, just where there's so much pigment that some of the kern here ended up almost too yellow!

Researching medieval weaponry has revealed to me one of the most “the rituals are intricate” weapons of all time, which is the bollock dagger; so named because the hilt looks like it has a ballsack.
Tumblr media
This one is late 15th century, possibly German or French, and currently owned by the Met.
Apparently, the Victorians would later refer to them as “kidney” daggers, assumedly because they thought referring to testes was crass/didn’t want the sexual connotation.
Granted, the design wasn’t always that distinct or obvious. Sometimes it was a gentler, more subtle shape. But also, sometimes the hilts do definitely look like dicks, too.
Tumblr media
These were recovered from the shipwreck of the Mary Rose, which sank in the mid 16th century.
Men (across the classes!) in Europe were walking around with these knives all the way from the 13th to the 18th centuries. Just. The shape of a dick and balls in their hand whenever they used it. Fucking incredible work on the part of humanity if you ask me

After you come a few time to London (it’s my third time this year -visit 1 & visit 2) and you’ve seen the major tourist spots you start to just walk around. Since I love wandering around Paris and finding fun facts about the city I started to look for some interesting pieces about London
So this time I planned my walks to go check out
*The tallest door in London - Opened in 1904, it was once home to the Elms Lesters Painting Rooms, used to store and produce theatre scenery and backdrops. The tall door allowed the huge scenery to be maneuvered.
Tumblr media
*The fence made of stretchers from WWII - During the war, many of London’s housing estates lost their original metal railings when they were manufactured into weaponry to serve the war effort. With a large stockpile of stretchers following the war, the London City Council decided to have the stretchers welded vertically together, fixed onto poles, sunken into concrete, and used to replace this missing fencing. The two kinks in the poles, designed so that they could be rested on the ground then picked up easily, can still be seen on the railings today.
Tumblr media
*The House of St Barnabas / Charity House with the Victorian Penny chute for donation.
Tumblr media
*St Bartholomew's Gatehouse - The earliest surviving timber framed facade in the City . It comprises a two-storey 16th century Tudor building with parts of the stonework and archway from the 13th century. It was the gatehouse to the Norman Priory church of St Bartholomew- the Great , founded in 1123.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first photo is the oldest churches in the city: St Bartholomew-the-Great (protect by the gate above) founded in 1123 as a Augustinian priory. It was fully restored in 1932 and it retains some of the 13th century stonework from the original nave. Fun facts: The church is featured in several films: Four wedding and a funeral; Shakespeare in Love, Avenger: Age of Ultron; Sherlock Holmes; Transformer: the last Knight; the Other Boleyn Girl.

A 16th Century CE, manuscript (UPenn Ms. Codex 109) includes an image of cat with a rocket on its back.
It comes from a work that examines gunpowder and weaponry, one idea was to use doves and cats loaded with flammable devices to set fire to enemy positions.

hello circa!! *throws confetti* storyteller saturday!! Your attention to detail in the world-building is so inspiring (your spear and good news and thaddeus drawings were INCREDIBLE), what other technology does the world have? Is there a strong drive to invent weaponry? Also, if you were one of the winged Aeris, what color would your wings be :0
Thank you! I absolutely love worldbuilding and pay it a lot of mind while writing, I’d say my stories are not just plot-centric but also world-centric to a degree, so I’m glad that that aspect of my writing shines through!
Note: Some terms here may be confusing if you don’t know the magic system of my WIP, Circa Specturgia! I suggest giving my TL;DR on the system a read, if you find that stuff interesting! If you want to jump in though, the simple words are: Specturgy - magic Specter - wizard/mage Matrix - magic circle Jynkaturgy - branch of specturgy, elemental magics Viðumancy - branch of specturgy, conceptual magics
Technological Advancement
The world of Istra is historically in a moment of technological revolution, or rather, right on the brink of it, with the events occurring over its course! I plan to have new technologies rising up every week, such as the assortment of guns mentioned above, made by Tamara!
In a bit of background, preceding the revolution occurring in the in-world 1700’s, was a period of a few decades spanning the middle of the 16th century, 200 years back: The Specturgic Aktriparivence, a total revolution of the way in which specturgy, the worlds magic, is studied, harnessed, and utilized, becoming far more available and widespread, no longer a mysterious art form or weapon of military use!
Now, the most advanced nations in terms of specturgic technology (and technology as a whole), are Ahætiem and Hevksiita, the second having been the birthplace of the Aktriparivance.
Atz & Verter, Atzverter & Aurecim
Aurelius Verter and Cimana Atz, recognized names now called the Parents of the Revolution, lauded with the kickstarting of the above mentioned technological revolution with the invention of the Atzverter engine, the more modern invention of the Aurecim Engine, and the funding of many other researchers and inventors, funding great minds around the world.
The first of the two engines was invented several decades prior to the revolution itself, however its resurgence was only brought around thanks to funding being give to the innovative duo, which allowed them to continue and expand their own research and create the second of the engines as well as fund others!
The workings of said engines are described below, in slightly worldbuilding/technical heavy jargon, though if that’s your thing, feel free to read!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In essence though, the Atzverter engine is a combination of a mechanical and specturgic device that uses specturgy to power it, with an output of energy which can be used in a variety of other technologies. The Aurecim engine, however, is able to provide propulsion, or negate the gravity on a vessel allowing for it to fly.
Applications - The Ahætieman Bullet Trains and the Hevksiitan Skyachts
Neat inspo images cause I love y’all
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As mentioned above, these two technologies along with several iterations, modifications and versions, is entirely changing the way in which power is generated and provided across the world in many sectors, but for now I’ll focus on transportation!
As was said, the two nations with the biggest boom in new technology and research are Hevksiita and Ahætiem, both with very differing applications! Both nations are in a mutual and yet friendly rivalry, being military and political allies, for centuries now, with great kinship between their peoples. Their race is more akin to pushing each other to new heights, the Hevksiitan Imperial Dynasty and the Kings of Ahætiem being on a friendly basis, though showboating their successes between each other on the chances they have to do so.
Ahætiem uses both the Atzverter and Aurecim in tandem, in their bullet trains. The designs had originally been for a network of locomotives powered by the Atzverter engines, but upon the Ahætieman Council of Blood inviting the two geniuses to the nation to oversee the project, they simply announced they could give Ahætiem a much better system if they were given the proper funding and some time.
They did not disappoint! Within a few years they’d perfected their previously theoretical (at that point in time) Aurecim engine, and redesigned the whole system with the idea of using trains with far larger carriages, and far more power, aided by advanced Atzverter’s for the power, and the new Aurecim’s for negating parts of the weight and speed, letting them make the trains far heavier and yet far faster than what would have been imagined possible with just the first engines! The network is still being constructed, but many connections between the cities on the mainland continent exist already!
Hevksiita however… It was the home of the duo, and so they worked on a design for their homeland, one set in the mountains, a bay overlooking the ocean. The result was the Skyyachts, vehicles capable of full flight, far smaller and sleeker than airships of the past which relied on balloons, instead entirely relying on the most advanced Aurecim’s to date!
The risk coming with these is twofold. Firstly, any flights over the ocean or in any vicinity to Storms, or where Storms are predicted to spontaneously form, are far too risky to be allowed to be taken. While the Atzverter’s which power the Aurecim’s draw on the ambient energy of their surroundings during continuous use, and the high atmosphere and areas surrounding Storms is one of high energy, the risk of being caught in one or crashing over the ocean is too great to make.
The Skyyachts are this used for flights at high altitude, above the mainland, or in some cases, at lower altitudes, but further distances.

Current events have been slowly causing international tensions to rise between several nations, and as a result the Council of Blood AND Council of Names of Ahætiem have both called for the designing, preparation, and construction, of several war machines powered by Specturgy.
However, it is important to note that during the past decade of the revolution, several international summits and later conventions and have been held, on the topic of how specturgic technology could be applied and researched, in the goal of protecting life from any sort of unethical machinery, and from unethical testing in the goal of creating any such machinery. These international laws of course limit the design and use of any machinery and weaponry created.
So, yes, there is a drive to make technology, but, it is limited by the international rules agreed upon by the nations which have the capabilities to produce advanced specturgic tech.
Wings!
More light-hearted now!
I made a post about this here, if anyone wants to give their own answers! I wanna hear em!
As for myself, I’d like to say either snow white wings with flecks of gold and silver across the tips of the feathers, OR, pure black, ravens wings, shimmering in blue and purple in the light… Something ostentatious, but uniform, which I could match to clothes and all!
But realistically speaking? I’d probably get something a bit more mundane, something hazel or dark brown to match my hair? Maybe a few specks of white. Honestly anything corvid would make me happy I love corvids.
That’s about it! Hope the answers were satisfying! ✨ Feel free to ask as to anything!
