last semester i wasn’t doing well in a very important class i needed to pass in order to graduate so i was working my ass off writing essays and shit and every time i started slacking i would bring up this image and i’d say “ah fuck you’re right vash i really need to keep working” and then i’d write for another two hours and i actually managed to pass and graduate and i honestly don’t know if i would’ve been able to without this picture. thank you vash

They’ve been watching her for quite some time now, admir- assessing her.
They hate her.

I love playable reader and Dottore so much, voicelines are so cute and fun, I love to imagine what the voicelines are for opening chests! I can imagine playable reader being so excited to find treasure while dottore similar to characters like scara or ayato has no interest or just thinks its rubbish, but tries not to be too pessimist or lower playable readers excitement. I could also imagine him not wanting playable reader to touch artifacts that have been sat in a chest for who knows how long in case they pick up germs, voicelines are just so fun to think about!
OMG... THE CUTEST THING EVER. Eagerly, they would pry open the chest, hovering over it so much that Dottore couldn't even get much of a glimpse inside. Then dodging the random items you started throwing behind you as you deemed them boring. Finally, you'd pull out a beautiful blue feather, an artifact that reminded you of your beloved.
"Dottore, what is this artifact called? It's so-" Interrupting your sentence was a sudden sneeze. Well, as pretty as it was, it was also quite dusty... With a sigh, he would pluck the feather out of your hand and drop it right back into the chest, which closed with a thud. (This has happened a million times.)
"Perhaps it would do you good to stay away from such trifles."
"Hey!"
Reader would be so excited to open the chests - they would be defeating the enemies or running around solving puzzles so they could open the chests already. Or if you happen to be sickly, you'll be sat right next to the chest waiting for him to defeat the horde of enemies rather impatiently. Your husband, however, doesn't quite understand your enthusiasm... surely the stuff in the lab is far more intriguing? Mere common chests are nothing to be happy about.
Dottore's only interested if there happens to be some cogs or mechanical parts in there, maybe some ancient texts or notes... though often, they are basic and aren't worth his attention. Though, once in a while some unique ones do appear and you always present them to him as a gift!
"Oooh, come look at this, Dottore! It's pretty good, right?"
"Hm, it could be worth examining."
Reader also seems to scrape out every last Mora from the treasure chests. Why? So they could hopefully relieve Dottore of his constant funding issues. Sure, a few thousand Mora isn't much, but it'll add up! While Dottore is appreciative of your efforts, he'd just rather continue bothering Pantalone to increase the budget... he's not fond of the grime of the coins staining your bare hands.
"With this, we could buy so, so many samosas! ... If this was four hundred years ago, hmph."

Listen, you would not like to learn what a rabbit hole this is.
For those who are interested in my deranged brainrot and wouldn't mind spoiler for the Pandora Hearts franchise:
Just imagine Dream as Lacie while Wilbur is Jack. Techno is Oswald.
(I have to copy the rest from my notes a long time ago)
-Dream being the misfortune child that is scheduled to be thrown into Abyss.
-Wilbur being the rouge/street rat that accidentally met Dream one day when he escaped to see the outside world.
-Dream can communicate with the abyss and abyss in turn adored Dream.
-Dream is mostly ok with dying.
-Wilbur love at first sight and is determined to work hard and get to Dream after seeing Dream being fetched back by guards.
-Techno being Dream’s childhood friend and the one that is ordered to throw him into the abyss because he is the next leader.
-Current leader, Schlatt has an ‘experiment’ he wanted to try with Dream, to which Dream agreed after being convinced that he would be dead either way.
-Dream tricked Wilbur away on the day of his execution, allowing Techno to successfully throw him into the abyss.
-Physical form will rot away inside the abyss and soon Dream will fade, yet with his last strength, he pleaded the abyss to take care of the children he are carrying (maybe Wilbur’s).
-Time flows differently in the abyss and soon we have Ranboo (with the counterparts as twins)
-Wilbur was devastated and tackled Techno when he knew that Dream had been thrown into what was essentially hell.
-Techno, regretted everything yet still had no choice but to oblige finally decided that he might as well just showed Wilbur.
-So he led Wilbur to a secured tower in the compound and that was when Wilbur met Ranboo, the black haired counterpart that had somehow escaped the abyss.
CW: insanity, murder, probably slight manipulation, also suicide
-Wilbur being slight unhinged and driven by the stress of losing Dream, come to visit Ranboo frequently, until he realised that Ranboo is able to switch place mentally with his counterpart down at abyss.
-Desperate for a way to contact Dream, Wilbur began to study Ranboo, taking in the changes during one of those switches to maximise his chance of speaking to white Ranboo.
-he realised that there is no way to bring Dream back as his form has long since scattered in the abyss.
-so in moment of weakness and desperation, Wilbur decided to bring the world to Dream.
-He used Ranboo to get more power, getting the help of chains that can sever the world and dropped it into the abyss.
-Techno and Schlatt finding out about the plan a bit too late as Wilbur has begun what was known as a massacre, releasing chains from the other side in order to bring down the world.
-Schlatt being an absolute ass and telling that Wilbur has been manipulating his own son, causing Wilbur to lose it and kill him.
-upon realising the blood in his hands, Wilbur decided that he had gone too far to stop, so he scaled the tower once more.
-The others had been working together to seal away the gaps between the world and it was not helping his case.
-He reached the tower and was relieved to find white Ranboo in charge today and asked for more power to bring the world to Dream.
-Black Ranboo who had disguised himself with the mannerisms of his white counterpart finally realised the manipulation and confronted Wilbur.
-Frustrated and running out of time, Wilbur demanded Ranboo to switch, accidentally letting it slip that the black counterpart is useless to him
-Ranboo fighting back the constant pull of his counterpart decided to stop them from meeting by destroying his physical form and stabbed himself right in front of Wilbur.
-Broken and without a way to win, Wilbur was finally confronted by Techno.
-In their confrontation, it is found that Wilbur was unable to bring the whole world down but was at least able to collapse the city into the abyss (the city that they had first met)
-Techno in their fight banished Wilbur because he was unable to kill him (Dream being the one that still makes him guilty)
-Wilbur ran, promising that he would bring the world down next time while Techno swore to stop him if he ever tried.
-Wilbur found someone to twist the story of the city so that it makes him out as someone heroic while Techno and Schlatt being the bad guys.
-Since only Techno and Wilbur survived the whole ordeal, no one knows the actual truth and believed that Wilbur was the hero, effectively forcing Techno into hiding.
-And maybe Wilbur plan to bring the world to Dream has always been on the move.

#personal#fic: sins of the father#just an fyi before you see it in the author's notes: there will be a hiatus of indeterminate length after chapter 13 but i WILL come back#also 13 is gonna drop in 2 halves like 12 did#not because it's especially long (both halves together are most likely gonna top out at 14k. which is reasonable for me)#but bc rhea's death & grandma time are both such big events I want to give myself a fighting chance of getting comments about either one#(bc some of my commenters are genuinely insane. i love engagement but LORD)#BUT YEAH#I just gotta get aemon in the mountains & then write grandma time & then it'll be time for the editing pass!

I hate that post that went like "people who say gay ships are too pervasive in fandom don't have a grasp on reality and lost sight of the way oppression operates in society" when really critiques about fandom's obsession with romantic queer shipping seems to be directly tied to an inability to view non-romantic (or even non-sexual) bonds as having the potential to be queer at all. It's not homophobic to discuss potential amatanormativity and i think it's very telling when you project your own limited notions of the complexity of the world onto expressions of lived insight that would contradict or challenge your worldview

#i talk#fic talk#Feeling very sad but been thinking about this fic a lot#it's even better than I remembered#I think I just burnt out when writing it#and by ''notes'' I mean ''I wrote 14k words for this thing hot on the heels of the series it was meant to be a prequel for''#It's a prequel to ''Change In All Things Is Inevitable''#I wrote it with a lot of bitterness about politics and I think that's another reason I burnt out#agh#I also realized I still have my notes I wrote for a TF reboot#and how I'd frame it if I were writing a movie script#which is nice because I thought I lost that#I'll read that later#I haven't been very good at responding to messages for *checks calendar* a while#but I still see people's messages they leave on my stories on Ao3#I always respond to them eventually#and I reread them fairly often when I'm feeling down#It's nice#it helps#if nothing else it always calms my heart a bit#Edit: Good lord I wrote sections of in-universe history books for this fic#no wonder I frickin burnt out
