Monthly reggae disco in North-East London. The night is named after sadly departed MC Earl Anthony Robinson, the voice behind classic deejay tunes such as "Drunken Master".

For our December session we're very excited to welcome back the legendary Oxman! This will be his second appearance at General Echo but his first since we've moved from The Victoria to the Trades Hall. An institution on the London reggae revive scene, whether behind the counter at Dub Vendor, on the mic at the 100% Dynamite parties that Soul Jazz used to throw, or presenting his regular show on Soho Radio. D'Oxman has a long and deep history, from running his own sound, producing, record collecting, to hosting dances. Whether selecting or MCing, he is one of the best in the game. When he plays tunes it is full on showman vibes, juggling 45s and expert toasting throughout. Do not miss!

On warm up duties we have another return booking, the wonderful DJ Laura Dagger Deb, who stepped in for us short notice at a session last summer but we're delighted to promote her set properly on this occasion! Laura has a great ear for Jamaican R&B nuggets, mento, jump-up, ska and rocksteady, so expect a set of crackly but beautiful vintage sounds.

my hc is that before joining electra's components, wrench and joule were part of a circus train! joule was an animal truck obvi and wrench was a metal boxcar used to transport equipment! when they were decommissioned, electra took them in and refurbished/converted them!

now also feels like a good time to mention that i hc them as sisters/having a sisterly relationship. i think we as a group have failed to acknowledge the potential dynamic between a repair truck (fixes things) and a dynamite truck (destroys things).

i’m rereading homemade dynamite and i was thinking ... between the hellpit and deidara blowing up two out of three fields that they go into kakashi's probably made the connection that it was deidara who blew up the ROOT tunnels ... i was wondering whether kakashi asked the sandaime or anyone else about deidara's suspicious origins though?? like even at the beginning fresh in the hospital post-team test?

tbh i originally meant to have kakashi as just a cameo, so i haven't completely decided how much he actually knows/suspects yet. kakashi DEFINITELY knows there's something deeply fucked up about deidara's origins, but i don't think he's actually done much prying. a lot of ninja have fucked up origins, even within konoha, and i think actively trying to look into those origins generally lands you in trouble with someone. :P he MIGHT if he thought deidara were an active threat to konoha, but so far deidara is just his adorable phenomenally destructive student that his cute kouhai weasel may or may not have the world's most maladaptive crush on !
