cannot stand your silence. he'd rather you scold him, or say anything to him, but he absolutely hates the silence that fills your house when he stops talking. he's thankful you're sitting across him while he's having dinner, but keeps interrupting his eating by asking for your forgiveness over and over. how could he forget your date night tonight? knows you need your personal space and makes you sit at the table while he does the dishes, but he gives in at the end of the day because what's the point of sleeping in the same bed if he can't wrap his arms around you? keeps whispering apologies into your hair and promises not to be this forgetful again. literally lights up when you turn around with a grumble and slot yourself into his arms. is okay with you being upset with him as long as you let him hold you.

jeonghan

thinks it's payback for the time he hid the last of your snacks a week ago. is fine with you rolling your eyes at him when he calls you by your nickname. realizes it's serious when you share your dessert with him, because you never do it without a little playful fight. realizes he's messed up big time when you don't retort back to his teasing about how your hair looks right now, after you've spent some time rolling around in bed. the final straw is when you wish him goodnight without even calling him any form of endearment. suddenly understands why you're being like this — it's because he left for practice without waking you up this morning, even though you asked him to. peppers you with kisses and it's only a matter of time before you stop resisting. tries explaining that your health and your sleep are more important to him than his own, but he's thankful you wake up with him the next morning and prepare breakfast for him while he gets ready.

is a gentleman. 99.99% of the time. but the 0.01% he's not is today, when he forgot to buy a bouquet of flowers you wanted to take while visiting your mother. he'd assured you he'd do the task because the flower shop lay right in the path he took while jogging, and now you've returned home with no smile on your face. there's a thousand apologies at the tip of his tongue, but none of them are going to be enough. you wish him a good night, but he knows he's messed up pretty bad. hates it when you don't even say anything about it, because he knows it's affected you more than you're letting it show. gets a call from you the next afternoon asking him why there's a bouquet of flowers on your desk and why your mother also had one delivered to her doorstep. picks you up from work and surprises you with a single rose that he tucks behind your ear, brushing away your concerns about it looking silly. loves you, and he'll get you flowers every day if it makes you smile the way you're doing right now.

junhui

is not used to one word answers from you. he watches you a bit closely as you take off your shoes, wash your hands, get a glass from the cupboard and pour yourself some water. feels like you're giving the glass more attention than him. starts feeling nervous. around you. hates it more than anything. but he doesn't know what's wrong, so he ends up doing something that flusters you both — he cages you in his arms, because he'd much rather you tell him off than push him away silently. you try to wriggle out of his grasp, but he pulls out his c-drama moves of seduction and slams his hand against the wall behind your head. you just stare at him before you shake your head and tell him he didn't kiss you goodbye this morning. he feels absolutely shocked. he did! or at least he thought he did. you're always on his mind, regardless of the time of the day. kisses you five times to make up for the one he didn't give you. sticks close to you for the rest of the night, as it's his rightful place.

soonyoung

is oblivious at first. he's the more talkative one between you both, so he doesn't find anything wrong when you come back home, or don't give him the usual kiss you do when you come back home — you're probably just too tired! guides you to the dining table and makes sure you're eating well. talks about practice, talks about this photoshoot that's coming up, talks about this interview he'd given earlier in the day, around afternoon, which made him super hungry because— well, shit. he was supposed to bring your lunch to work because you'd forgotten to take it yourself, and you'd even texted him about it. he promised he would, and now he's left wondering what you had to get for yourself because of his forgetfulness. throws himself to his knees in front of you and grabs your thighs, shaking you like it's going to transfer the sorrow he's feeling into you so that you can forgive him. loves that you crack a smile before you hide it and continue having dinner. promises to wake up early next morning so he can be the one to make you lunch and pack it. loves the sight of the empty box he sees when he calls you during your break.

wonwoo

feels like absolute crap when you get home and all he has to show you for his time spent is the game he's finished and a regrettable lack of food on the table. he'd promised to cook for you, this recipe he'd taken from mingyu just so he could try it himself. he'd even laughed at your surprised face in the morning, but now he thinks you were right to have doubted him. it's not even time for your usual grocery run yet; you're pretty much out of groceries because his friends had come home a couple days back and you'd spent time making a lot of dishes. sits you down and makes you eat a banana as a peace offering, all the while ordering takeout from the closest eatery to your house. sits with you and feeds you bites of your meal, not touching his own till you're done. still feels terrible when he sees you putting away the leftovers, because you're not supposed to be doing that in the first place. comes up behind you and wraps his arms around your waist, murmuring apologies in your ear and asking if you want him to get you anything else. wakes you up to breakfast in bed the next morning. you laugh and tell him you're not willing to have breakfast without brushing your teeth, so he picks you up and carries you to the bathroom. he thinks he should make time on his days off for breakfast in bed if it means you'll cling to him the way you're doing now, adoration in your eyes.

jihoon

is just in his chill™ mode half the time he's home. when he's not working, he's either listening to music or watching your favourite shows together to maximize the time he has with you. for jihoon, and you, actions are more prevalent than words. so it's with a sudden drop of his stomach that he realizes he was supposed to wait for you, till you came back home, to start watching this new anime you'd been keen on seeing. he can't exactly undo the past three episodes from his memory, so he's also silent like you are when you get back home and see what he's been up to. dinner is had in an awkward silence till you push your chair back and take the plate to the sink, letting jihoon know you're turning in for an early night. he knows he's fucked up. he's glad you're not kicking him out on the couch to sleep, and he apologizes by softly humming a song he's been working on for you, in the silence of your bedroom. it's like he's wearing his heart on his sleeve, too easy for anyone to see, but it's worth it when you sigh and pull him down for a kiss, telling him it sounds wonderful and that you can't wait to hear the full thing.

minghao

is disappointed with himself already, and you being disappointed makes it worse. he could blame jet lag for being the reason why he forgot to show up at the cafe to meet your friend you've been him to get to know for a while, but he knows it's a flimsy excuse. you cover up for him with the excuse of a fever, even though he's far from feeling down. doesn't know what he can say to make it better, so he peels an orange for you. only to have his heart hurt when you say you're not hungry. but you end up taking a few slices anyway, because you don't want it to go to waste. tries to pull you into himself but hates it when you don't reciprocate. he knows this friend is important to you, but are they so important that you have to ignore him for the rest of the night? offers to sleep on the couch, and is surprised to find that's what breaks your silence and makes you glare at him. promises to fly you out soon to meet your friend where they live as an apology. wakes up to you combing your fingers through his hair.

mingyu

puppy #1. knows he's done something wrong the moment you step inside the hallway of your house, even if you've said nothing — mainly because you're not rushing to him the way you always do, and you're not excited to see him, the way he is to see you. takes all the stuff from your hands and makes you sit on the couch and offers you a massage and pouts when you decline him gently. tries making conversation with you during dinner, but gets discouraged when you reply in short sentences. you're not...angry, but you're upset, and it's bugging him terribly. offers to help you with your nighttime routine, sitting on the counter and watching you go about it, until you sigh and tell him exactly what he forgot about. your plants in the balcony that he promised to water this morning and forgot about because he had to rush for an early practice. he throws himself to the floor on his knees, hands clasped, and promises never to forget it again. feels relieved when you laugh through a mouth full of toothpaste, pulling him to his feet and ruffling his hair. his alarm now has a label that reads: "plants :)"

seokmin

puppy #2. can feel his smile drop the second you walk through the door of your shared house drenched in water like you fell into a puddle and climbed out. and the worst part is you're not even asking him to help you dry up. he tries to offer you towels and fusses about your hair and you catching a cold but ends up sitting against the door of your shared bedroom when you gently push him out of your way and opt for a nice, warm shower. he's glad he ordered takeout so that you wouldn't have to cook, but he's not happy with the way you're ignoring him. no, you're not ignoring him. you're...disappointed, almost. somehow it's worse than having you be angry with him, because he knows fights can be resolved sooner or later. but you being disappointed in him? makes him feel like the worst person in the world. heats up your blanket in the dryer and gives you his hoodie to sleep in. he's never going to take your umbrella to practice again. drags you out to shop for two distinct umbrellas so he never forgets to send you off with one again.

seungkwan

he's busy. it's not an excuse; it's just how his daily schedule is. yet it sounds like nothing but a pathetic excuse when you get back home, avoiding even looking at him. you look amazing, and he wasted his entire afternoon wondering when you were going to call him, when you were out watching a movie he'd suggested the two of you watch together. hates it when you tell him you've had enough popcorn to make you skip dinner. hates it when you don't even hug him, much less kiss him. hates it when you have a polite conversation with him about the movie, as if you were just his friend telling him you liked his recommendation. you sit with him and watch a volleyball match he'd pre-recorded, but his mind is not interested in the commentary at all. pouts. straight up asks you how long you're going to ignore him. you say you're not, that you just need some time now to get over it. he nods like he understands but wraps himself around you barely twenty minutes later when you're getting ready for bed. will not sleep without coming to any kind of resolution. asks you to spoil the movie for him as a punishment and gets a pinch to his cheek in return. promises never to forget a date again.

hansol

is also oblivious. takes your silence as a sign that you're just tired, so he makes sure you freshen up and don't do any work for a while and have some water or light snacks instead. it's only when he puts on a movie you've both watched many times he realizes you're not talking to him, because you don't lean into him the way you usually do. he takes the initiative this time and tries pulling you on his lap, but you resist. he feels uncomfortable, and it's new. he tries focusing on the movie but his mind is on you, and it's only because of the sheer number of times he's seen the movie that he can remember the dialogues without paying attention. it's only when the main characters get into a car and start driving that he realizes he'd promised to pick you up from your friend's party. immediately switches off the movie because he knows you're not paying attention either, and kneels in front of you and looks into your eyes till you blush and look away. brings your head back in place with his fingers on your chin and asks you to remind him when he forgets so that he doesn't have a chance to let you down again. holds your hand through the night when you sleep. clings to you a bit more whenever you're home.

chan

devastated. at himself, at you for not reminding him that he'd forgotten to pick up your outfit from the dry cleaner's last night, at the fact that you're not even scolding him. hates that you won't even look at him except to give him some space to move around in the kitchen. having twelve older brothers, he's used to being kept in shape by them and remembering a lot of things about all of them, so why couldn't he remember this small thing you'd asked him to do? compliments you on how good you look, and is physically hurt when you just nod at him with a small thanks. asks if there's anything he can help you with. hates that you shake your head and say you're just going to read a book. tries making you laugh but ends up embarrassing himself when he trips on the bathroom mat and ends up diving into the bathroom face first. it's not funny, but it gets a smile out of you, and he thinks he's on the path to getting your forgiveness. won't go to sleep till you run your fingers through his hair, holding him close to you.

"So, are you two dating?"

You automatically pulled off from Mingyu on the couch, the soda you were drinking caught in your throat.

"Are you okay?" Mingyu asks as you cough, worry filling his eyes. Seungkwan sat in front of the both of you, laughing at your reaction.

You straightened your posture, finding your voice, "Seungkwan, you're drunk," You flushed red as Mingyu's arm reached your lower back to help you.

"I've only had three shots with Chan," Seungkwan rolled his eyes and stood up from his seat, "Guess I'll leave you two love birds then."

You stare in shock at Seungkwan leaving, surprised at his bluntness. "Mingyu, why didn't you say anything to Seungkwan?" You place your cup on the table before turning to your best friend, "He thinks we're dating?"

Mingyu grinned at your serious face, "Forget what he said, Seungkwan's probably drunk." Mingyu pulled you back to his embrace, changing the topic, "Besides, it's my birthday."

"But he said he only had three shots?" You shook your head at your own words, deciding to move past what just happened.

You glance up at the clock in the living room to check the time, "Hey, let me just go refill my drink. I'll be back."

Mingyu's hold loosened as you stood up from your seat, but his hands held onto your arms to stop you.

“Do you remember what I asked you for tonight?” Mingyu stares at you with a grin that makes you roll your eyes playfully.

“Yes,” You ruffle Mingyu’s hair while he pouts at the action, “We promised not to drink tonight.”

Mingyu nodded, “Okay, come back quickly.”

At that moment, Vernon, Seokmin, and Minghao walked through Mingyu’s front door, coming straight to greet Mingyu as you left him.

The warm ambiance of Mingyu's house enveloped you, the lighting casting a soft glow over the familiar surroundings. Framed photographs adorned the walls, capturing memories of past celebrations and gatherings with friends.

It was the night before Mingyu's birthday, and he wanted a party at his house with all your close friends to celebrate. What Mingyu didn't know was that you baked a cake for him to bring out when midnight struck.

You looked around Mingyu's house, spotting your two friends by the balcony.

"Soonyoung, Chan, it's ten minutes till midnight!" The two boys stopped their conversation to head to the kitchen and help you.

The kitchen buzzed with activity, laughter, and chatter filling the air as some friends mingled and prepared for the surprise. Streamers and balloons adorned the countertops, adding to the festive atmosphere.

You and Soonyoung were going to light the cake while Chan discreetly went around the house to give out confetti and party hats.

"Chan, make sure no one takes everything out until we turn off the lights!" You exclaim loudly over the music, hoping no one would spoil the surprise.

"He'll be fine, just worry about the candles," Soonyoung says to you, watching you place the candles into the cake carefully.

You shake your head and put your attention away, "Seungkwan and Chan took shots earlier, so I'm hoping Chan isn't as drunk as Seungkwan..."

Soonyoung places the lighter on the counter to light the candles. "Seungkwan is drunk? I saw him before, but he was just tipsy,"

You focus on placing the final two candles on the cake, hoping not to ruin the decorations on the top.

"He asked if me and Mingyu were dating, so I think he's drunk Soonyoung," You shrug your shoulders before moving away from the cake, allowing him to start lighting the candles.

Soonyoung laughs at your serious face, recalling the question that caught you off guard moments ago.

"He did? I thought you were telling Mingyu late-"

You placed a finger over your mouth, "Keep it down! Soonyoung, everyone's going to hear!"

Soonyoung looked around the kitchen, seeing who was around the two of you. The kitchen was open to the dining room but not to the living room where Mingyu was, with only Seungcheol and Jihoon sitting on the dining table.

Soonyoung grabbed the lighter and lit the candles one by one. "Like I was saying," he spoke quieter so you wouldn't be nervous, "Weren't you planning on confessing your feelings to Mingyu tonight?"

Letting out a sigh, you walked over to Mingyu's fridge to grab the first handle of alcohol you can spot. "I was, before I saw Mingyu's reaction when Seungkwan asked us if we were dating."

You poured yourself a cup before placing it next to the cake. "He was speechless like me, not even saying anything. I don't think I should anymore."

Soonyoung looked at your cup and checked his phone quickly, "Well, maybe Seungkwan asked the question everyone has been wondering. Anyway, drink later because it's one minute until midnight, let's go."

Before you could respond, Soonyoung placed the cake in your hand and stared at your friends near you. "Seungcheol, Jihoon, let's go do the cake!"

Abandoning the alcohol on the counter, you made your way through the dimly lit hallway, the anticipation building with each step as you approached the living room where Mingyu awaited his surprise. As the three of them walked ahead of you, you were confused by Seungkwan's words and now Soonyoung's.

Shaking the thought away, you rushed to the living room as soon as Soonyoung shut off the lights.

The room erupted into song, the harmonious voices of your friends filling the space with warmth and affection. The flickering light of the television illuminated their smiling faces, adding to the moment.

"Happy birthday to you," You felt everyone's eyes on you despite the dark room.

"Happy birthday to you," You caught Mingyu's widened eyes as he watched you walk over to him,

"Happy birthday, dear Mingyu," Now you stood in front of Mingyu as he got up from his seat to face the cake,

"Happy birthday to you!" The song finished as you smiled at your best friend.

"Make a wish!" The soft glow of candlelight bathed Mingyu's face as he made his wish, his expression one of quiet contemplation before he leaned forward and extinguished the flames with a single breath, his eyes sparkling with anticipation.

Before you could say another word, everyone was setting off their confetti in the room.

As the lights flickered back on, revealing the delighted expressions of your friends, the room erupted into a symphony of cheers and applause, the energy palpable as everyone joined in the celebration.

Wonwoo came up next to Mingyu to talk to him, so you decided to go cut the cake. Knowing your friends, all of them wanted a slice later.

As you made it to the kitchen, you felt a presence trailing behind you, "Seungkwan, I know you love cake, but let me cut it first,"

"I'm not Seungkwan." You turned to see Mingyu standing there, "Oh, hey, did you like the surprise?" You asked, looking for a knife to cut the cake.

"Yeah, but you still haven't got me a proper gift," Mingyu was now next to you, pouting his lips.

"Hey, is a homemade cake not enough?" You laughed, knowing Mingyu was joking.

Mingyu shrugged, "You know I'm kidding, the cake is enough. I know you were busy recently, so I appreciate that you baked it for me."

Your heart swelled at his words, and you stopped looking for the knife, grabbing the cup full of alcohol next to you that you couldn’t drink earlier.

Mingyu's eyes widened as he watched you chug the entire cup down, "Woah, I thought we agreed not to drink tonight? Stop."

"No," you face Mingyu and place the cup down, "I need some liquid courage for this, what I say next is now on the alcohol."

You walked closer to Mingyu, putting both hands on his arms, "Mingyu, I like you more than friends. Actually, I think I'm in love with y-"

Suddenly, you felt Mingyu's lips on yours, pulling you even closer to him as he cupped your face. Your body froze in shock as he pulled away.

"Did you just kiss me?"

Mingyu kept his close distance from you, only inches away, "Well, now this is an even better gift," He smiled cheekily at you and wrapped his hands around yours.

That's when you suddenly realize that you never got a reply. "Wait, you didn't even say it back! Kim Mingyu!" You turn to the cake beside you and swipe it with a finger, placing frosting on Mingyu's face.

Mingyu's mouth opens in shock at your action, "You remember what I kept repeating all day?”

You remembered the agreement, “Now that I think about it, why are we staying sober tonight? We always drink on your birthday.”

Mingyu looked at you seriously, “I asked you not to drink because I wanted you to be sober while I confessed to you tonight."

Suddenly he smirked, and before you know it, there's frosting on your face, too. “Guess you beat me to it!”

"Oh, you're asking for it!" You grab another swipe of frosting before Mingyu runs away to the living room.

You laugh as you hear him scream to your friends, "I have a girlfriend now!"

seungcheol - BIGGEST ass blanket hog ever and he whines in his sleep if you try and take any of them back like it's so serious for him

mingyu - bro doesn't even mean to be he's just big and gets cold easily :( the only way you are getting those blankets is if you're cuddling the whole night

hoshi - literally such a giant blanket hogger but only because he moves around SO MUCH in his sleep

seungkwan - snug as a bug in a rug he dont gaf

minghao - he knows he does it and he thinks it's funny but he always cuddles in you in the morning to warm you back up

dokyeom - only sometimes and he always feels super bad when he does it and he smothers you with blankets when he wakes up

joshua - it's only occasionally that he does but when he does and you bring it up he gets sassy with you

wonwoo - only just a little like it's a 60% 40% split

jeonghan - you two are very good at sharing the blanket and not hogging it, but if either of you ever do hog the blanket y'all will not hear the end of it from the other

He would ask you out to a movie and confess by giving you flowers and a box of chocolates before the movie starts. But once you give your reply the rest of the movie stays awkward. But it ends up romantic due to you falling asleep on his shoulders. When you wake up, you would see him smiling at you while giving you a peck on your forehead.

-Jeonghan:

He would play a prank on you which would end up in a way where he would ask you out or handing you a love letter, which would end up having you being red like a tomato. He would prolly tease you over it and stay cool until you give him a reply. Once you reply, he would be over the moon and would take you out on a date then and there.

-Joshua:

Being the gentleman he is, he would take his time thinking about how special and romantic he wants it to be. He'll take his time planning a proper day out like a picnic and then later on ask you about it when you're free. Once you do go out with him, he'll finally ask you to be his girlfriend. And when you accept his confession... JESUS CHRIST, He'll be happy to the point he would hug you so damn tight and flex it to all the other members leaving you beet red.

-Jun:

He would prolly ask you when do you have free time and take you to a Chinese restaurant and get you his favorite dish. He would show signs of affection by wiping the sauce or sm from the corner of your lips. By the time you're done eating, he would pay and wait for you and then take his time and build the courage to ask you to be his girlfriend. And when you accept it, he would smile at you before pulling you into a hug and kissing your forehead.

-Hoshi:

He would prolly ask you out in front of everyone which would leave you all red and flustered. He would wait eagerly for your reply, and when you nod slightly feeling flustered from all the eyes being on you. He would jump on you and hug you so tight until one of the member has to pull him away from you so you don't suffocate. He would even plan a date with you on the same day to keep you happy.

(AGHHH... HIS CUTE SMILE WOULD BE THE END OF ME.... )

-Wonwoo:

He would prolly take you out to a private place to hand you a love letter before leaving since he would be too flustered to look at you. But his curiosity would get the best out of him. He would wait eagerly until you go up to him and hand him the same letter back with a reply, accepting his confession. He would happy and sit there smiling until one of the members notice him. He would even build up courage to talk to you, so it wouldn't be awkward.

-Woozi:

I have a feeling he would be the kind to make a song for you which ends with a confession. After singing, he would look into your eyes waiting for a reply. You would be too flustered & surprised thinking someone actually likes you. You would stutter giving a reply, accepting his confession. But once you do, it's gonna be one of the best things you decided to do. Him being the most romantic ppl out there...

-The8 (Minghao):

He would take you out to a cafe and order you your favorite drink and pastry. He would sit there admiring you enjoy your drink until you notice him staring at you. He would keep staring back and then ask you to be his girlfriend, which would leave you dumbfounded. You would be definitely have a deep blush creep into your cheek which would earn you some giggles from him. Once you accept it, he would smile and hold your hand in his and thank you for accepting his confession.

-Mingyu:

He would ask you whether you wanted to go on a night walk together to which, ofc you being you, would agree. (Who wouldn't??)......... Once you both start walking while talking about random things, he would randomly hold your hand in his while staring at you, which would leave you blushing. You would avoid his gaze until he decides to finally ask you to be his girlfriend to which you would look back into his eyes with surprise. Once reality kicks back, you nod which would earn you a big smile from him as he hugs you tight. He would then kiss you on your forehead before walking again.

-DK:

I have a feeling like he would randomly ask you to be his girlfriend when you're sitting in a room with the others. The others would give you the eager look, waiting for you to reply. Once you accept it, he would give you the smile (ikyk which smile... UwU) which would have you blushing in front of the others. He would definitely ask the others to leave for a while so he could talk to you privately for a while. Once they're gone, the first thing he would do is pull you into a tight hug while kissing the top of your head.

-Seungkwan:

He would be the one to take you to a park on a Sunday morning and then buy you your favorite ice-cream. Both of you would be seated and talking casually until he decides to ask you to be his girlfriend which would have you by surprise.. You try to keep your cool to not make it awkward and you smile and nod.. He would pull you into a hug which would cause your ice-cream to fall, which would have both of you giggling.

-Vernon:

He would prolly hand a love letter to you and stay there frozen until you finish reading. Once you finish reading, you look at him with hearts in your eyes. You smile and tap on his shoulder realizing he has been zoning out. You call him and whisper a 'yes' into his ear. Upon hearing this, he gives you a big smile before a sighing out of relief and this earns him a giggle from you. He then holds his hand out motioning you to hold it. Ofc, you gladly hold his hand and well... happy ending !!

-Dino:

He being the person he is, he would make the atmosphere a really comfortable one before making random jokes to have you giggling and then randomly in the middle of nowhere ask you to be his girlfriend. This act of his catches you by surprise which has you blushing like a tomato. He giggles at the sight before looking at you waiting eagerly for your reply. You nod before smiling and pulling him into a hug so he doesn't see your flushed face to which he starts teasing you...

whenever he sees his phone case he thinks of you. even fleetingly, if he takes his phone from his pocket and catches a glimpse of the case your name will flash through his mind, your lovely face grinning at him. he buys matching phone cases regularly, so much so that you've got one for each month of the year. but he adores it. he loves matching you, loves that whenever he looks down at his phone, whether it be his my melody phone case that matched your hello kitty one, or his phone case with half a heart that connected to yours, he adores it. and of course, what would all the work of having a matching phone case be without having matching lockscreens!!

whenever jun sees an animal, he's whipping out his phone to snap a photo and show you. one of the first dates the two of you had ever been on was to a kitty cafe, in which he discovered you loved animals just as much as he did. that date was followed by an aquarium, which was followed by a petting zoo, and so on. he also loves getting photos of animals from you, so much so that he has a folder on his gallery dedicated to the animal photos you send him. he especially loves to send photos of stray kitties to you, dropping to a crouching position so he could get them to come close enough for pets. sometimes he thinks about the future, where he'd take you and buy a little farmhouse out in the country so the two of you could have a petting zoo of your own.

it isn't a physical thing that reminds soonyoung of you. whenever he stops for a break, whether it be practicing dancing or singing or when they have some other sort of a schedule, he thinks of you. more often than not, whenever he has an important and long schedule, you send him little texts reminding him to eat and drink, to take just a moment of rest to try and restore his energy. so whenever he goes on a break, whether he sees a text from you or not, he thinks oh, y/n would say to get some water. and so he would, wandering about until he finds what he's looking for. you love him so much that you want him to take care of himself, even when you're not aruond; and he loves you, so why on earth would he make you worry about something he could prevent?

➥ jeon wonwoo

whenever he pushes up his glasses, he is reminded of your fifth date. the two of you had taken it slow, not wanting to rush, not feeling the need to rush. and so your dates were long, comfy things that left him feeling refreshed and satisfied, that left him smiling and his heart swelling with warmth. your fifth date had been a late-night picnic next to the han river. you had been leaning against him, listening to wonwooo hum softly to the music playing off of his phone. you were staring at him -- which was fine. it would be a lie for him to try and pretend he didn't stare at you. but then you had leaned close, cupping his cheek with one hand and sliding his glasses up with the other, a cute little frown on your face. he found it so cute that he couldn't help but kiss you, and now whenever he has to push up his glasses himself he can't help but wish you were there with him, doing it instead.

jihoon is a workaholic. you know that, he knows that, the entire industry knows that. he had gotten better ever since you had sat him down, three months into dating, and had murmured, scared of pushing him away, that you missed him, that you wanted to actually, you know, see the man you were dating. ever since then jihoon tried his best to be present with you, but his job was a demanding one. you were understanding, however. you sent him cute photos of whatever you were doing, of yourself cuddling a stuffed animal he had gotten you while on tour. in exchange he would always send a picture of a cute little figurine you had gotten him on a vacation you took with your friends. you had set it on his desk, next to his monitor, with a cute little smile. "so you think of me whenever you're busy being a genius," you had said, teasing. but little did you know that it worked like a charm, and whenever he caught sight of that little figurine he couldn't help but think of you.

it's tacky, and he knows it, but whenever dokyeom sings he can't help but think of you. every artist has their muse, and his is you. when he's across the world, singing his heart out, he's thinking of you. he tries to be present with the fans of course, tries to stay in the moment. but his heart always turns towards you, and dokyeom can't help but put a little more effort into singing, somehow feeling as if you were able to hear him despite all the distance between the two of you. when he sings at your shared apartment you always go to him, wrapping your arms around his waist and pressing your face against his chest, just listening to him. it's soothing to listen to him sing, you told him once; it was a comfort. and now whenever he sings he thinks of you, of you who found home beside him, and can't help but be comforted by the thought.

mingyu loves good food. you love good food. dates always come with a meal, the two of you alternating between who chooses where to eat. whenever he's away and has to choose from a menu, he'll send you photos of it. he'll text you his thought process as he goes through each item, as if he was talking to you in real time about what to have. when he does finally order, when he does get his food, he takes a photo to send to you. he'll rearrange the food if he has to, will clear the table and push other members' food out of the way so he could get the most perfect photo to send you. whenever you send him a photo of your meal he'll whine, he'll say about how he wishes he was there to take a bite, or how dare you eat something so delicious without him.

➥ xu minghao

whenever he gets out his phone to take a picture, he's already planning on sending it to you. that's just a given. every photo in his gallery is one he's sent to you, is one you've seen before. if he sees a pretty sunrise or sunset, he's sending them to you. if he sees a pretty flower, expect to see it. if he sees a pretty perfume bottle: you're seeing it. "you should see pretty things," he said when you asked once, so matter-of-fact about it that you couldn't help but laugh and kiss him. he firmly believes it too. people can't be perfect, minghao knows, but you're his definition of perfect because you're you. and so you should only have to see the beautiful and pretty things of the world, and if it falls on minghao to make sure of this, then it's a job he'll gladly do.

➥ boo seungkwan

one of his most favorite things in the world is making people laugh. he loves making his members laugh, loves making the staff laugh. making people happy is such a simple thing, but it's something seungkwan treasures. whenever he makes someone laugh he can't help but wish you were there. of everyone in the world -- except for his mom, maybe -- he loved making you laugh the most. he loves the way your eyes widen in surprise sometimes before you laugh. he loves your loud laughs and your quiet giggles. he wants to make you that happy all the time, and whenever he manages to make other people laugh he wishes you were there in the moment with him so you could laugh and be happy too. everyone's laughter is precious, seungkwan knows, but he can't help but think that your laughter is the most beautiful, no matter how quiet or loud it is, no matter how many times you snort or cry from it.

music is important to hansol. he adores it, loves it. he doesn't go anywhere without his headphones, whether it be his wireless airpods or beats or his store-bought wire ones. it doesn't matter which set he uses, however, because whenever he grabs them from their case he thinks of you. you've decorated each of the cases, pressing cute stickers and covering them. even his airpods max case is decorated in your stickers, his initials on each speaker in glittery pink. seungkwan had laughed his ass off when he first saw it, but hansol adored it. he loved pulling them out of his backpack and seeing his airpod case with your cute little kitten stickers decorating it, loved running his fingers over the turtle sticker you slabbed onto the case. whenever he uses someone else's headphones, whether it be for a schedule or because he somehow forgot his own, he can't help but think of his own headphones and how much better they were, simply because of your stickers.

you love touching chan. which is great because he loves touching you too! but in particular, whenever you're sitting, you grab his left hand and press it between both of yours. soon enough, like clockwork, you'll start twisting his rings around his fingers, smoothing over the metal. he'll ask you if you're nervous or anxious, but you'll just throw him a confused look and shake your head. it's fine, though. he loves it when you run your hand over his, when you twist his ring around his finger. it gets to the point that whenever he even glances at his ring he thinks of you, thinks of your fingers playing with his. rings become his favorite accessory because of you, and he even buys a special fidget one. his favorite ring, however, is the one he'll eventually wear on his left ring finger, a perfect match to yours.

disclaimer: don’t take it seriously. i was having a convo. with my sister about my truly tragic dating history, and now we’re all going to hold hands n process it together.

seungcheol: big “air mattress on the floor” energy. his gaming set-up is expensive and immaculate, but he’ll be goddamned if he spends a dime on — idk — a bed frame, for example. don’t sit on his chair, though, because it’s specifically angled for his lumbar-support needs.

jeonghan: the “i quit” dude at the show who still consistently asks to bum both a cigarette and a light. you’re not getting that lighter back, and he will not, in fact, “get you back” for the uber back to yours or the take-out he weasels out of you on the way. he’ll charm you out of caring about it, too :’(

joshua: it’s giving “anyway, here’s wonderwall”. why did he even bring his guitar to this party? you don’t know, and you’re not gonna ask because the answer will make you want to fuck him less, and you really, really want to fuck him.

junhui: the one that passes out immediately after sex, leaving you trapped in that “….should i…. leave? is staying…. fine?” liminal space. he wakes up in the middle of the night, wakes you up, and informs you that you chose wrong and “should probably head out” because he has to work in the morning.

woozi: he asks if he can say “i love you” during sex because it gets him hot, and then he later informs you that you can no longer hook up because things are “moving too fast”.

seungkwan: the one that has never — not even once — asked you a personal question. that’s not to say he doesn’t talk; he never stops. you’ve learned everything about him (his home phone number from childhood, the names of all his coworkers + his thoughts about them), against your will. frankly, you’re not sure if he even remembers your name atp because he relies exclusively on a generic pet name.

vernon: he talks a big game about meeting up, missing you, etc., but when the plans are laid, he “fell asleep, i’m so sorry, i’m just now seeing this!! :(” you washed your hair for this? rip.

dino: the foster puppy!!! he’s an emotionally unavailable, certifiable mess when you get him. you clean him up, train him, and the second he gets his shit together, he’s off. he’s found his forever home, and he’s coincidentally getting married on your birthday. sorry, bestie!!

SEVENTEEN ATLA HEADCANONS

genre. headcanons. avatar the last airbender au. warnings. none. featuring. ot13 seventeen. wc. 1.6k. (around 100 words each) request. no. a/n. obviously i've been on a svt atla kick since burnt promises, second chances. i'd be open to writing fics for any of these small headcanons if anyone is particularly interested :)

SEUNGCHEOL

Ugh, Cheol is really hard. I kinda see him as any nation and also none at the same time. For the lack of other Water Tribe on the list, I’ll give him Water Tribe, but I don’t even think he’s a bender. He’d be a passionate hunter of the Southern Water Tribe, and a very good one, but not a bender. He’d always be eager to help out and fit his role as a true leader. He’s looked up to because he protects his people without fail. He’s good at strategics and known for his bravery. I see him fitting a role like Sokka’s father, but I don’t see him as anything glamorous like Water Tribe Royalty. He’s down to Earth and humble and honest. He leads and the people follow.

JEONGHAN

Jeonghan is an airbender. He’s witty and intelligent, and a great asset to his nation. He’d be in an Air temple close to the Earth Kingdom, and he often helps out with strategics if they ever need it. Definitely a kind and angel baby, but if there’s anyone who needs dealing with, he will personally take the task up. He’s world renowned and has allies and friends in every single nation. When he’s not busy, he’ll spend his time travelling around and immersing himself in the different cultures of the nations. He’s beaten Water Tribe hunters at their own hunt, evaded earthbender attacks in the ring because of how light he is on his feet. And his agility and wit proves to be useful whenever he goes head to head with a firebender. He can often predict their next moves and avoid attacks before they’re even fired at him.

JOSHUA

Joshua is Water Tribe!! Definitely a Water Tribe prince, or even a poor boy from the Northern Water Tribe whose parents couldn’t afford water bending lessons for him, so he would sneak around and watch lessons without getting caught. He’s mostly self taught, so he’s not exactly the best, but he can still hold his own. If he’s a Water Tribe prince, then he probably got bored with water bending very quickly as a child and started figuring out ways to skip his lessons lol. He knows clever ways to bribe or fool his masters into letting him slack off, but he also has to build enough skill to show at least a little improvement. He’s probably more interested in carving proposal necklaces to give to his future girlfriend than improving his bending skills.

JUNHUI

Jun is Fire Nation, and he’s extremely talented at Fire Bending. He probably runs a tea shop with his family and takes lessons on the side; just a regular middle class kid. He’s not aiming for a military position or anything high up, but he uses his skills to help him in daily life. He might have friends from places higher up in the city, and because of that, he got to take a visit to Royal Fire Academy for Girls. Definitely turns some heads— practically the whole school is crushing on him by the end of the 2 hour visit, and he enjoys the attention that he wouldn’t usually get at home. It’s safe to say that he’s invited back given the significant improvement in attendance and performance after his initial visit.

SOONYOUNG

Another airbender, only because he’s so agile. Like the spider choreo really makes me see him as someone who just likes to swing around upside down for fun. He’ll play pranks on the older monks, or just anyone he can get his hands on. He’s a lot like Aang in that way. He definitely creates his own airbending moves, because he is a choreographer!!! Somehow takes a trip to the Earth Kingdom because it was his life goal to see a tigerdillo in real life. Once he meets one, he somehow adopts it, and settles down in the Earth Kingdom from there on! He’s perfectly happy, and can he even pose as an earthbender if he’s smart about it.

WONWOO

Anyone could probably guess that I see Wonwoo as Fire Nation. I wrote an entire 14.5k fic about it which is expecting a part 2, but I just think he fits it so much? Especially in a role like the Fire Lord or some notable higher up who is skilled at firebending and definitely owns a dragon (if we’re talking a time period before/during the dragon hunts). He’d be the type to just be a natural at it and reach a high mastery at an early age. He’s such a skilled fighter, and definitely knows how to control his flame. He prefers to study directly from dragons instead of old masters, whose teachings feel regurgitated and watered down, which sounds pretentious, but it’s one of the reasons why he got so good.

JIHOON

I see Jihoon as an Earth bender. He’s short and stout but HE'S SO BUFF. He definitely has the density in him to move some rocks, he’s practically built like The Boulder but without the height????? I definitely see him as part of the royal guard, but definitely not an Earth King. He might teach Earth Bending or get posted out on the coast near the Fire Nation or something— but he definitely has a military position. Somewhere where he can use his earthbending to its full potential. Not the most talkative, but definitely the most efficient, so he climbs the ranks like nobody's business and everyone knows to respect every word that comes out of his mouth. If you say even a word about his height, he’ll throw a rock at your head before you can finish the sentence.

SEOKMIN

It was hard to pick between Water Tribe and Fire Nation for Seokmin, but I think he’s ultimately Fire Nation. I see him as an actor for plays, and he definitely uses his firebending to win over the audience. It got to the point that even though he’s from a small town in the Fire Nation, he became a household name and got increasingly popular until he eventually found himself acting in front of the Fire Lord. Once he got rich enough from it, he got a spot in the most infamous acting troupe in the Fire Nation. His favourite role to play is, of course, the Dragon Emperor in Love Amongst the Dragons.

MINGYU

Just a bulky earthbender I don’t know what to say. He probably got recruited to some military position because he’s fit and can hold his own in a fight, but boy’s just really a sweetheart. He doesn’t enjoy smashing people with rocks, so he tries to get out of the military as soon as possible. He instead works as a carpenter of sorts? Builds elaborate structures with his earthbending, and has a surprisingly artistic touch to his creations. Popular with the older ladies because he is a gentleman.

MINGHAO

I see him as an airbender, but I cannot imagine him with a bald head LIKE HELP. But let's say he is, and for aesthetic purposes, keep the long haired Minghao. He practically floats and flies through the air with his airbendings. He’s probably more of a lemur guy than a sky bison guy. I can imagine him having 1 or 2 lemurs who he spends most of his time with. Obviously very light on his feet and into meditation. He’s one of those star students in the class that the teacher picks as an example for the other students to watch and learn from.

SEUNGKWAN

A waterbender, and he’s good because he focused and studied the traditions of it. He knows the importance of the basics, and when he’s teaching, he can get mad pretty quick if he catches a novice waterbender doing a technique lazily. He teaches them the hard way, making the floor an ice rink or slapping in the face with a water tentacle if they make a silly mistake. But he’s a respected master. (Not to say that he’s old, but he holds the respect of an old master). Also a great healer for the Water Tribe. He thinks it’s important for the men to not just learn how to fight with spears and slices of water, but also to heal the tribe, and he offers his lessons to the women of the tribe as well.

VERNON

Another Fire Nation boy. He’s so skilled he can redirect lightning and all that jazz. He’s a worldwide guy too, so he’s definitely familiar with the other nations and their bending to a certain extent. (Like Iroh, studying the Water Tribe helped him with creating new techniques within firebending). He has a dragon because he’s hot like that, and would hold master firebending classes lol. Definitely has connections to the Royal Family and I could even see him serving as a personal guard or something of that sort. His skills aren’t to be wasted, so he can snag a high paying position practically anywhere he wants.

CHAN

Earth Kingdom kid from a poor family™, I mean it’s just so clear in my mind. I imagine his mom runs a corner store, and he likes to use his very limited earth bending skills to make the shop look prettier. If the wooden tables break down over time, he’ll earth bend a makeshift counter to display the trinkets for sale. He’s quite charming even though he doesn’t have much to say about himself. In the lower class of the Earth Kingdom, practically everyone knows him because he likes to go around and make new friends when he’s bored. He’ll help out the elderly if they need it, and flash a toothy grin to anyone he comes across.
