So to summarize my thoughts on the final episode (two final episodes actually) of mp100, I think it was great. Yet, I would still do some scenes differently, especially "Shigeo" and "Mob" inner dialogue.

I guess my high expectations are at fault. And don't get me wrong, it definitely gets the point across, but personally it just doesn't awake the same feelings as in the manga.

I think it's mostly because in the anime there is no striking difference between "Shigeo" and "Mob" and their characters. Anime!"Shigeo" feels somewhat lukewarm, idk how to explain it. Sure, he mostly says the same lines as in the manga (exluding the ones that were cut), but it feels different. And frankly, it doesn't sound as I imagined - the way it was delievered.

Because while "Shigeo" is a manifestation of Mob's powers, he also represents his bottled up emotions and even some personality traits. Ranging from strongly positive ones to more negative ones such as selfishness and indifference (to other people's lives and well-being), distrustfulness, spitefulness.

Which is why I expected a more clear dichotomy, I guess more instense emotions and line delivery when it comes to "Shigeo". The anime - also with the fact that they cut a lot of lines of their conversation, sadly - doesn't really do that much? It doesn't feel as raw.

Here's the cut lines:

Yeah you had to see my face when I read those the first time. The last frame feels so eerie, it really feels like a threat. And to "Mob" it is, obviously. Because to "Mob" - initially - "Shigeo" is the antagonist and acts so. I mean, he does antagonize "Mob", he straight up insults him, calls him weak and a coward and wants him to cease existing basically (which is mutual). There's also arrogance that we're not used to see from Mob in general, and there's clear resentment and hurt on "Shigeo"'s part, and it makes sense.

How do I explain it, overall it hurts to read? "The truth is, I don't trust anyone."

Btw I don't know why they decided not to make him speak in real life too/at all. Can't explain what exactly it would add... but it would definitely add something. It makes him feel more "aware" I guess and sort of more chaotic as a result.

Do I think those lines were necessary to include? I don't know. Maybe for character analysis nerds. Again, the point is gotten across anyway, but the impact is not the same, in my opinion. So I wish there was more time spent on the inner conflict itself. (I would personally change a bunch of things from line delivery to sound design, but it's just because this moment is important to me.)

Oh and I also feel robbed of this shot, it's kind of iconic

people who get mad at others for giving money to this website are lowkey weird. my brother in christ you are ON this website and no matter how much u hate it it needs to stay afloat somehow. tumblr is worth less and does poorly compared to other social media websites. we got our infamous weird as fuck ads because no one else Wants to invest in this stupid little website that looks dead to outsiders. at the very least i think it’s smart that tumblr realized it can make money by appealing directly to its userbase by offering silly dashboard cosmetics or selling shoelaces.

No, but seriously.... I just love blondie a normal amount because she's better and worse at the Greek class than the Greek class themselves.

She's Bunny's "real girl" who "keeps him in line" when there's no line, when Bunny himself is 10 different shades of fake, when their relationship falls apart at the seams when Bunny begins to engage in Julian Morrow's least favorite virtue of honesty.

.... But she's also fake. She's so preoccupied with his money that she doesn't notice Bunny being gone for a week, she doesn't call his brothers, not his parents, not until Cloke and Charles push. She sits in Charles' lap at the funeral. She's all looks and friends and malarkey, the words of our man himself.

They deserve each other, and its shallow and it will pass, right? He's a kleptomaniac and reads to the person who knows of it what should happen to thieves, it's willing and consensual denial for the sake of appearing Normal People.

But she also is just as haunted by him as the class themselves, she's just... more normal about it. She married his brother, who loved him. A guy without much a generational cent to him, whose only virtue is he's there. She has a kid she names after Bunny's mother, who never acknowledges her at the funeral, she's never around any of them, misses in any newspaper or interview. She planned to marry Bunny, right? She called Charles every day since Bunny's been missing, she broke off any relation to Cloke based off the possibility he and his drug business were involved. She's cared about him, in some ways that never pass the brain of our narrator, busy with his own grief to realize he's never thought twice of other pathological liars in the building.

She's the physical embodiment of Bunny's codependency to the Greek class, the person closest to him that's not them, the person with whom he spends most of his time and energy on in their absence. He's the only one of them that has a girlfriend. She's but a Presbyterian blondie in the midst of the Catholic fuckery of rituals in the group, foreign and cheap to them, but all the freedom they'd never allow themselves.

Their relationship is the only thing "normal" Bunny can claim to be or have or be, but it's all a shell and a lie. How much does she know of random sex rituals in the woods, we never know, Richard never cares to find for himself.

She's the group's "no speak" list alongside the time they had sex in the damn woods and thought they met Dionysus. She's the worst things of Bunny's that Julian doesn't like, tacky and lazy and something deeper than that, something we aren't privy to. She haunts Francis personally, deeper than his absentee father and she lives right by his door to see him on the streets.

She's.... a person who laid her eyes on the Metahemeralism essay and gave it to some magazine to publish. She stares at the half-eaten Twinkie in his bedroom and shuts down when confronted with that he's gone gone. She can only name Henry and Francis as Bunny's friends in the Greek class.

If you ask me she's just better at lying than both Bunny and the whole lot of them, Richard and Henry are too busy to figure out their own lies to figure they've been outlied to by yesterday. Besides Julian, the only character that has come out the affair doomed and broken, but alive with at least a little girl of hope to her name.

I'm not surprised by him being a Putin apologist. Opinion polling in Russia is untrustworthy as Putin controls the pollsters. Putin also controls the media inside Russia, so voters aren't exposed to alternative opinions or facts that may make Putin look bad.

Meanwhile "whenmagicfillstheair" claims about American media can be easily disproven by the fact many outlets criticise both candidates. The low opinion polls for both candidates means that voters can form views on both candidates from multiple sources.

"whenmagicfillstheair" complains about a democracy (however flawed FPP & the electoral college are) with a free press & praises Russia, where the election is rigged & you can't safely criticise Putin. If he's American he's taking advantage of the very free press he pretends isn't there to advocate for a place that has none & the leader who ended the free press in Russia. If he isn't than he's either relying on propaganda to inform his views or is a paid propaganda still himself. It's hard to know one way or the other.
