The thing that I love most about Jonathan and Nancy is that they’ve been through the real shit. Arguments and hardship through the supernatural and the struggles of discrimination and privilege.
I love how Max is usually the one who speaks after Will. It’s like she’s the only one brave enough to answer after he says something profound or important. I need more of Max and Will’s friendship and them having well-thought out arguments I swear

After watching The Princess Bride, I am fangirling so much over Cary Elwes - it’s so crazy to me that he got him to play such a character! I wonder if they thought of him because of all the physical stunts lmao
As much as Karen isn’t in the know of much of anything in the supernatural story, I love how she’s a picture of raw strength in the Wheeler family, the true head of the household. She takes charge. Stops at nothing to help. Not even in the face of temptation. Go Karen.
DAMN I forgot that Billy dropped an f bomb! I thought that the closest that the show got was when Max got cut off in the hospital, but nope. There it was
Shit, I’m tearing up at that scene when El collapses into Mike’s arms because I know that that was real exhaustion. Poor Millie 🩷🩷🩷. She did such a phenomenal job there.
I LOVE whenever Joyce is angry this season. Now that’s how you demand. Straight to the point, justified in her worry, and cutting past any unnecessary bs while still including the cherry on top “please” or “good day” of politeness out of basic decency. I want to be her when I’m upset.
I’m always so blown away by Maya’s performance when she comes out to Steve. Straight (haha) through the heart, so good. And I always, always smile at Steve’s reaction. So in character, so accepting. No questioning if she’s being honest, just immediately questioning her type and believing that she’s into girls. So, so important.
Oh, no. Holly saw the trees moving in the woods. Thus far, she’s noticed the demogorgon coming out of the wall, and now this. She’s definitely a target next season.
When El tells Billy the memory of his mom, I teared up a little! Something about the way that El says, “you were happy” breaks me, dude. Millie and Dacre did so well.
Also, thinking in foresight of s4, Max’s letter is so heartbreaking. The Mind Flayer made a huge show of killing Billy slowly and painfully. I don’t blame her for being too horrified to move. It really wasn’t her fault. That was traumatic. Sadie did amazing there, too. Ouch.
I’m never getting over the helicopter lights being blue, yellow, and red. Were starboard and port always blue and red? And isn’t starboard supposed to be green? It’s all intentional, I’m telling you
I love how Max and Lucas are supposed to be “butchering” Never Ending Story but those two theater kids actually sound amazing. I just wish they harmonized 😆

Okay wait. This is kinda horrible. I feel bad for saying this. But y’know how Mike has a Will voice? Well I just noticed that Mike definitely does not have a soft voice for El. I swear, he’s always so loud around her like nothing’s different about her 😂😭 Any time he’s sweet with her he’s just like YEAH. COOL. and it’s kinda hilarious.

AHHHGHH I can’t wait for the original version of Heroes to play next season over Byler kissing when everyone thinks that they might be dead but they’re just surviving in the Upside Down, clinging to each other and having the highest moment of their lives!!!!!!!
This has been my s3 thoughts for the 6-8th time watching? I forget? And I missed a number of moments because I got too absorbed so, oops. Anyway, I love Jancy, I love Jopper, I love the Scoops Troop, I love Suzie, I miss Alexi, Byler is endgame, and this season was way more fun than I remembered and it always makes me laugh. My list of favorite seasons has been shaken expertly.

we got in the car, i sat next to matt. my boyfriend. i was so happy to go to the mall. i needed some new makeup, clothes, and a new pair of high heels. i was in the front seat with matt, chirs was in the back with nick. nick was begging me to give him the aux cord.
"come on, please?" nick begged
"no, you listen to fucking garbage." matt said coldly
my eyes widend. damn.
"fuck you, bitch" nick rolled his eyes
yup. typical nick response.
"how far is the mall?" i asked, trying to change the topic.
"i dont fucking know, check on your phone." matt said in a harsh voice
i nodded my head, a bit stunned. he never acted like this before...or at least not to me.
"uh...20 minutes?!" i was stunned, the mall was never that far.
"youre picked the wrong mall, idiot." matt says, his eyes not leaving the road.
"stop being a dick, matthew." nick said, eye bawling him in the review mirror.
"nobody asked you." matt protested, pulling into the parking lot.
i almost felt tears in my eyes. why is matt being a dick?...
"lets go y/n." nick said. we both got out the car. chris and matt bickered as we got into the mall.
"will you two just shut the fuck up?" nick asks, turning around at them as we walked into the food court.
"nick, were in public." chris whispers.
"i could give a fuck less. matt...whyre you being a dick?" nick asks, pointing at his chest.
"im not, you idiot." matt protests more.
"see? dick behavior." chris buds in.
"im gonna go to victoria's secret..." i say quietly and timidly.
"good. go." matt claps back.
i nod my head and walk to victoria's secret. but...i took an extra left, heading to the bathroom. i open the door and get in the stall. i sit on the toilet and cry. what. is. matt's. problem?!

y: oh yeah, sorry! im in the restroom, just had to touch up my makeup.

i got up, and looked in the mirror. oh no...my makeup is smeared. everywhere...
c: do you mind hurrying up? no rush, but...kinda rush lol.
y: yeah! yeah! sorry, ill be out soon.
i immediately ran out, my heels clanking against the cold floor. i met chris.
"hey!" i say, smiling like nothing happened.
"what the hell happened?" nick asks, before i could respond matt buds in.
"damn, you look horrible. ugly, even." matt adds, chuckling.
i was absolutely speechless.
"i think we should go back home." chris adds, a look of sorry and worry in his eyes as a tear streams down my cheek.
the car ride home was absolute torture. no one talked. no one smiled. matt didnt put his hand on my thigh. my eyes didnt escape the trees from out the winodow.
"we're home." chris says softly.
"no shit." matt says, with attitude.
we all walked inside, i go into matts room. like i do, everyday.
"do you need a ride home or something? get like and uber or lyft." matt says, almost like he was implying, "get out"
"am i not staying?..." i asked, fidgeting with his pillow.
"look y/n. i dont think were gonna work out. im so done with our relationship. we cant keep going. youre amazing, y/n. you really are, but i cant."
what?...
"wait...what? lets talk about it first." i say, a tear streaming down my face as i quickly wiped it.
"no. i cant. ive made my decision."
i didnt say anything. i wanted to fight for us, dont get me wrong. but...with matt...hes always right...
"fine."
i grabbed my bag and put my nike pandas on. i walked out, into nicks room.
"b-bye, nick. i love you and ill call you later, mkay?..." i said as i hugged him.
"arent you staying over?" nick asks, confused and hugged me back.
"im going home. me and matt are over." i blurted out, not letting him go.
"aw, no n/n. hes a dick anyway. youre perfect. hes short and has nose hair longer than his scalp hair. he stinks and showers in brown water. youre so beautiful, sweet, charismatic, and most importantly; sexy." nick added with kissy lips.
i laughed and let go of him, i sniffed and smiled.
"thanks." i gave him a quick squeeze before getting in my jeep. i drove home. that night, i cried. and cried. and cried.
1 MONTH LATER BITCH
i smiled as i laughed with nick on the phone, we were talking about the latest Rue Paul episode.
n: "and thats what im talking about!!"
we laughed and laughed.

i giggled

i know its been said so many times, but i cant get over just how visually bad design wise vizzie pop's characters are. like i have seen horrible art designs before but somehow people can make bad designs into something beautiful. but with vizzies, every artist i have seen thus far who try to replicate her style or even try to design the characters in their own, it still looks so bad. and thats not to down play the talent of fans, its just amazing how designs are so bad that not even the grace of tumblr fan girlies cannot save them.

Every day I get 🤏 this much closer to getting out of chapter 1 of Chazzerella.

the difference between the fourth wall breaks of something like the Deadpool movies compared to something like Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn and She-Hulk: Attorney At Law is that every joke in Deadpool feels masturbatory like the writers think they're so hilarious for doing a fourth wall break like that's never been done before whereas both of the other two not only feel right at home with the characters' personalities but are much more natural and much more well done compared to the jokes in Deadpool or its sequel. (do not get me started on Deadpool 2, the movie sucks ass in basically every way except for the characters of Domino and Yukio. every single joke in it was outdated before it was even written. they were making fucking dubstep jokes in 2018. it was a 2012-ass script made way too late and riding on the coattails of the first with even less effort into being actually good.)
but the difference between those properties is that Deadpool wants to be congratulated for being some insanely crazy shocking movie that's pissing off the studio system or whatever but every single joke in it was approved by those people because it makes them money like it's so antithetical to the entire point they're trying to make and it makes for a very infuriating watching experience sometimes. the cognitive dissonance is hard to swallow with that one. but the way BOPATFEOOHQ and She-Hulk do their bits feels so much more authentic and less self-congratulatory and also just like they're clearly done with so much more passion and effort and care? when I watch either of the Deadpool movies, I feel like I'm watching a bunch of executives jerking themselves off. when I watch the other two, I feel like I'm watching a passion project that the executives clearly didn't give a shit about and thus the creative team were actually allowed genuine creative freedom with not a lot of oversight. that's a little less true with She-Hulk (especially in terms of that glorious finale although even that feels more authentic and artist-driven than most things in either Deadpool movie. Kevin Feige's boring, sanitized ass does not have the range to do that finale) being a MCU property although Phase 4 was so fucking experimental and it was a joy to behold even if not everything hit but it's still true and more authentic for the most part. with Deadpool it feels like the only person who really really cared about it was Ryan and like maybe a few of the other actors who actually did do commendable work with what they were given but with the other two projects, it feels way more collaborative because every single person showed up and cared deeply about what they were making.

Sandberg movie.#like BOPATFEOOHQ feels artist driven the same way The Batman does and the TASM movies do.#not to derail this tag rant but the TASM movies are Marc Webb movies through and through.#yes they have Sony's grubby hands on them with the product placement and shit but they are inseparable from Marc's vision#they are what Marc cares about more than what the studio cares about. the thematic interests are all Marc Webb.#anyway point is: more art like BOPATFEOOHQ bc it actually cares and less shit like Deadpool that is just pointing and laughing.#Deadpool feels like it's laughing at the concept of superhero media and it's a horrible boring deconstruction of it bc it doesn't get it.#it feels bad to the psyche the same way those meme disney show record scratches do—#like 'my life is kinda crazy' but it's 'ironic' now so it's 'funny'.#'see it's funny bc they're self-aware!' okay but what are they doing by being self aware???#I'm not saying every piece of art has to be some profound exploration of whatever but Deadpool feels bad to watch in a way the others don't#BOPATFEOOHQ is actually fucking commenting on something using its gags!#the fucking 'they call her... the crossbow killer gag' is actually thematically relevant!! women telling their own stories!!#a subversive joke actually playing into the themes of the project!! imagine that! care ajf effort put into saying something!!#anyway Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn is phenomenal.#genuinely one of the greatest CBMs out there. also just a phenomenal time. even tho Parasite is a better movie overall#— BOPATFEOOHQ was my favorite movie of 2020.#some of the best action around with a great script with amazing pacing and phenomenal acting and a great score and soundtrack!!#literally nothing more to ask for.#one of my usual criteria for evaluating how good a piece of art is how much I'd add to it to help it do what it was trying to do.#like not cutting anything from it unless absolutely absolutely necessary. just adding like maybe 10-15 minutes to the runtime and—#helping maybe a few weaker elements shine more. with BOPATFEOOHQ the only change I'd make is to have more of the characters.#let us see more of Cassandra and Black Canary. more of their inner lives and backstories.#Christina Hodson tells us their stories with great efficiency and it's done really well but visually I'd just like to do more with them.#give them each maybe a 2-3 minute scene with what their daily routine is like.#maybe explore Canary's history with her mother more. see how it ties into the GCPD more effectively.#maybe actually see Cassandra's parents and how she deals with them daily instead of hearing about it from her hiding outside

sometimes i imprint on specific subgenres or "flavours" of stories and go slightly insane trying to find more of exactly this
which, funnily enough, happened twice in a very short time recently, so now i am desperately looking for two completely different types of sci-fi but only those two specific kinds. 🤷🏻♂️
one story was time to orbit: unknown. it's about humanity's first attempts at colonising planets outside of our solar system, using relatively realistic, near(ish)-future technology. most of the weird shit that happens turns out to be human-caused. aliens are only an abstract concern in the sense that characters worry about reaching their destination and finding unexpected life there.
then there's the southern reach trilogy. its entire premise is that Weird Shit is happening on earth and it's probably aliens. science is discussed mostly in the context of scientists having no idea what the fuck is going on, and there is a certain cosmic horror vibe to it all. things, including people, are being transformed in some way. coherent communication with the invasive entity is not possible.
now, these are completely different things and i've been oscillating between wanting one or the other. but at some point i realised
THE EXPANSE.
the expanse series is somehow, incredibly, a perfect mix of both. it's got humans venturing into space in shitty spinning ships, living in shitty colonies or research facilities on moons and asteroids. they're not even venturing outside our solar system yet - but then the probably-alien cosmic horror weirdness begins. it even involves things and people being transformed, too! and in the end it opens up possibilities regarding interstellar space colonisation. but watch out
i think i may have one unread expanse book left in my collection and there's another i haven't bought yet. since i struggled to determine if i had already read that one book or not, i may be due for a reread of the entire series - this is where i'm stuck, because my brain demands new stories but i know i'd be super confused if i just tried to continue where i left off. i'm sure i'd enjoy the reread! b-but,,
#my brain: new stories pls? 🥺#it is truly amazing how much the expanse has in common with each of those completely dissimilar things#ultimately it's probably *more* similar to ttou just because they both take place in the future#and because the southern reach is kinda. an exercise in futility if you will#it's exclusively a quest for information whereas the other two are more about solving actual problems#even if new problems constantly pop up and sometimes the solutions are less than ideal#i'm not sure a single problem gets solved in the entire southern reach trilogy tbh. which sounds horribly bleak but it's not#anyway here's wonderwall i need to sleep#;

#stranger things 4#stranger things#Stranger Things Spoilers#kinda#like based off what happened last season I get the literal distance is part of the narrative#I get that it's a Stranger Things thing also#different groups getting into different genre trouble and it all meets up together in the climax#but the distance is hurting me kinda personally#but look. the kids have their bio parents#but they also have their paranormal Oh Shit Weird Stuff's Going Down parents#in Nancy Steve Jonathan and now Robin and now Eddie and even Argyle#Steve and Eddie had their lil 'jealous of each other but then realizing the other's not that bad' thing that I LOVED#I'm terrified one of them is gonna get killed off and because of how much they're putting on Steve#being important to both Nancy and Dustin I am legit scared for Steve...his character WAS supposed to be killed off#killing him off now that he's had an AMAZING character arc would be horrible and heart breaking#but also....I can see it so clearly#him dying may even be what sparks Robin to admit her feelings to her crush because now that Steve's gone(knock on wood)#she has to try to live her best life for him and be her true self#and like....I just want my babies to be okay!!! Q~Q
