Mirror Mirror (10,000 post special)

As Yui stood there in stunned silence, Ryūzōji pulled out the two envelopes from his inner coat pocket. He has white hair but piercing red eyes, dressed in a green business suit, sitting in his wheelchair.
One was black. The other was white.
“As soon as you take one of these envelopes into your hand, turn around and leave the room,” Ryūzōji ordered, pointing at the closed set of doors through which we had entered. “At that moment, the new world you have chosen for yourself will manifest beyond those doors.”
White or black.
Which would be the path towards actually saving people?
Yui didn’t know.
Which choice should she make?
she had no clue.
The only thing that rang clear to her
Was the sound of her voice.
*Yui closes her eyes and with bated breath, she picked the white envelope….forever altering destiny as she knew it*
(Two month later…)
Samidare walks into the mall, it’s busy, bustling with life. She has a task to preform. Her cold green eyes stare at the dentists office. She walks inside, but the door makes no noise. She shuffled to the back where a red haired girl is busy getting her teeth cleaned. Upon making an I.D, the dentist leaves his office and in slips Samidare. The girl is Ryoko Otonashi, future Ultimate Despair. Yui turns on the spare tank, switching the gases over her mouth. Those red eyes bolt open, yet Yui’s strong hand grabs the mask, shoving it into her. After a few moments of flailing wildly, she succumbs to the poison gas. Samidare shuts it off and walks away as if nothing had happened, saving billions of lives. She takes a pack of cigarettes out of her packets and begins to smoke one.
(Three years later)
There is no longer a woman named Yui Samidare, only Yukio Akabane. Construction begins on a city to rival Towa, as she travels to Hope’s Peak academy to fully uproot despair. Yukio easily gains access to the building, Once there, she snoops around for the one and only person who can stop her plans. Arriving in the research laboratory, Yukio waits until all the surgeons leave for the evening before slipping in. the patient, Hajme Hinata is undergoing Talent Development. Yukio stick him with a needle, she depresses the contents into his veins before his heart rate shoots up and comes crashing down. Hinata flatlines, thus ending Izuru Kamakura before he could be born. What was once joy in her eyes was unending pain as she was forced to murder her way through her bosses enemies.
(Present day)
The massive Kuma Kasino is open with hundreds of guests filtering out per hour. Skyscrapers stretch as far as they eye can see. Yukio consolidated her power, and now has a thriving “legitimate” buisness. Bear costumed girls as far as the eye can see and a large office for the once famed detective herself. Who were you to ruin all of this?

It was currently morning as the Tokito twins just finished their missions. They stopped by a small stand where their was an old man selling treats “Nii-san let’s buy some of those!” Muichiro said pointing at the stand full of treats “We can’t, we need to save our yen for a full meal.” “But Nii-san!!!” He whined as Yuichiro sighed. “Fine, just don’t come asking for my food when your hungry.” He said sternly making sure to raise his tone at the ‘my’ “don’t worry Nii-san! I’d never eat your food because I don’t want you hungry!” Yuichiro gave some yen to his brother as he watched Muichiro run off to the stand, after a few minutes of waiting patiently Muichiro came back. They continued their walk as they were near their destination.
The twins were currently at a ramen shop as Yuichiro gobbled down on his ramen, his brother Muichiro was sleeping and eventually Yuichiro finished his meal. Yuichiro shakes his brother awake as Muichiro stirred awake.
Muichiro blinked as he stared at his brother for a good 10 seconds until he rubbed his eyes. Muichiro groaned and stared at his brother in disgust “Muichiro stop looking at me like that!” Yuichiro said as he bonked Muichiro’s head “stfu you dumb excuse of a human.” “…I’m gonna kill you.” “Tell me what is a donkey ugly bitch ass lookin stupid woman like you gonna do to me?” Yuichiro deadpanned as Muichiro threw the empty bowl of ramen on the ground and suddenly the owner came out that he was gay and proceeded to scold the younger twin.
“do you ever shut up? This is why you get no hoes lmfao, small pp bald ass bitch” Yuichiro’s face dusted with pink because of embarrassment. “You gozzamn useless ass of a manwhore who can’t even get hoes lol lmao so embarrassing” said Muichiro as Yuichiro’s right hand went to grip his brothers left shoulder and he whisper-shouted in Muichiro’s ear “Muichiro! Shut up! Let’s just go back to our estate!” Muichiro immediately whipped his head towards Yuichiro “your telling me that I live with you!? This is ridiculous!” He said stubbornly.
“How can I! I the one and only live with a mint flavoured with some chocolate ice creamed hair!!!! Muichiro grumbled as Yuichiro deadpanned again “we look the same.” Yuichiro said losing his patience. Yuichiro looked towards the owner who was absolutely frozen, Yuichiro took a fistful of his brothers hair and ran towards their estate dragging Muichiro as he flailed around.
The twins arrived to their estate as Yuichiro slammed his brother to the ground knocking him out, Yuichiro let out a sigh and he dragged his brothers body to their room. Yuichiro set up two futons and once again slammed his brothers body onto the futon.
Muichiro POV
I groaned as I woke up, I put my left hand on my head only to be met with a slap. I blinked a few times taking in my surroundings as the first person I see is my brother “Nii-san! Why did you slap me!!!” I whined but I didn’t receive an answer, now looking clearly at Yuichiro’s face. It was an unrecognizable expression “I’M GONNA KILL YOUUUUUUUU” oh…it seems it’s gonna be a long day huh…I mentally embraced myself knowing what’s coming.

Ayayui One-Shot
Title: Embrace of the Night
In the dimly lit halls of the Sakamaki mansion, Ayato, the brooding vampire, prowled with hunger in his crimson eyes. His fangs ached for the taste of blood, yet his heart, burdened with an unspoken longing, yearned for something more.
Yui, the fragile human girl, wandered the mansion's corridors with trepidation, knowing the danger lurking in every shadow. Despite her fear, a strange sense of comfort enveloped her whenever Ayato was near, his presence both terrifying and strangely alluring.
"Hey, Pancake! What are you doing wandering around here all alone?" Ayato's voice, smooth as silk yet tinged with a hint of danger, broke the silence.
Yui tensed at the sound of his voice but forced herself to meet his gaze. "I-I was just... exploring," she stuttered, unable to tear her eyes away from him. Despite all he has ever done to her she's found that shes had feelings for him.
Ayato smirked, his fangs glinting in the faint moonlight filtering through the curtains. "Exploring, huh? Well, how about you explore something more... thrilling?" he purred, closing the distance between them with predatory grace.
Yui's heart hammered in her chest as Ayato trapped her against the wall, his breath hot against her neck. She knew she should be terrified, yet a strange sense of calm washed over her, as if she belonged in his embrace.
"Just one bite, Pancake, and you'll feel things you've never imagined," Ayato whispered, his voice sending shivers down her spine.
But as Ayato leaned in to claim her, something within him faltered. His fangs hovered inches from Yui's delicate skin, his crimson eyes clouded with conflict.
"Why do you hesitate, Ayato?" Yui asked softly, her voice barely above a whisper.
Ayato's grip on her loosened, his gaze meeting hers with a mixture of desire and anguish. "Because... because I don't want to hurt you," he confessed, his voice barely audible.
Yui seemed shocked at what he just said, he's always hurted her, why is he hesitant? she sighed "why? It's no different I'm just a blood bad to you aren't I..?" She asked.
With a trembling sigh, Ayato closed his eyes, allowing himself to be vulnerable for the first time in centuries. And as he lowered his head to Yui's neck, his fangs sinking into her flesh, he felt not just her blood, but her warmth, her.....fear, flowing into him, filling the emptiness that had long consumed his soul.
In that moment, the fear yui felt towards him goes away as he would stop and hold her in his embrace "...look...I know I haven't treated you nice pancake.. and I'm sorry" he tried to get her forgiveness, despite the love yui feels, she can't forgive him...he has to earn her forgiveness.

Reading the books: "My Youth Romantic Comedy is wrong, as I expected."
What takes 15 days? Correct! Reading the 14 main line novels of "My Youth Romantic Comedy is wrong, as I expected." and the Volume 14.5 short story collection. What a ride...
What I definitely can say: The anime series was extremely faithful to the books. When you stick to the mainline and omit the short stories, you would mostly miss out on one thing. The best thing!
Hachiman Hikigaya's endless inner monologue!!
Good lord, this boy has issues. He's overly in his own head, makes lots of assumptions, is too smart for his own good, and too clueless. I just love it.
Gazing into the abyss with rotten eyes
Writing a series completely or almost completely from the point of view of its protagonist, basically mostly from his stream of consciousness, has of course its own set of challenges. Luckily it's not plain stream of consciousness but also scene setting and descriptions of the other people's actions, and a lot of the fun of the series derives from contrasting Hikki's assumptions and interpretations with your own.
It's also frustrating... (Also, spoilers, I guess.)
And late in the series I was asking myself, if the boy had any connection to his feelings at all. Author Wataru Watari has a habit of hiding the obvious, and so our main characters beat around the bush to the very last. I did get a tad annoying. But I'm getting ahead of myself...
What actually works quite well is the evolutionary change we see in Hachiman over the series. The way he thinks about people changes subtly and continuously. In the beginning he even calls the ever-lovely Yui Yuigahama a "ho" and a "slut" to her face. Hardly charming!! This is one of the moments one has to endure, proof of Hachiman's resentment towards the world after having been ostracized for so long, his hate for "normies." And on the surface, Yui is the uber-normie, the adaptable, the one willing to change for the sake of popularity - something Hachiman cannot abide with. Initially.
It paves the ground, however, for enjoying all the deeper the kindness Hikki displays in his thoughts later on towards Yui, or how highly he thinks of her in the end. (Though not of her lack of book smarts which he confuses for intelligence.)
While we're at it, Hikkitani's eyes gaze upon a few other things. I was remarking in my original post about the anime series how refreshingly low on male gaze it was. Well, our protagonist is male, and he occasionally compares bust sizes... not in the most charming way, either. However, it's neither permanently so nor done unconvincingly. We did enter the mind of a male teen, after all. In reality, we would have been bound to find much worse things there, after all... Of which we get one hint, really. (I will not tell.)
An almost unbroken stream...
What we also get is a lot of Hachiman's thoughts about his boy crush Saika Totsuka. Which is endlessly hilarious in all its bi-confusion. The scenarios unfolding in his mind without filter - I can't tire of them.
However, for the first 11 volumes we are home alone inside the head of our anti-hero. The last three, however, mix things up a bit. Labeled as "Interludes" there are scenes that take place without Hachiman, written from the view of another character. With Volume 14 we also get a multi-installment "Prelude" that features the scene between Yui and Yukino we didn't get a detailed glimpse of at the end of Volume 13.
What's annoying here is the tendency of omitting part of the dialogue and only describing it vaguely. We can infer that Yukino admits her love for Hachiman to Yui - whispered in her ear. Because that's what Yui knew all along but didn't want to hear. And we get Yui admitting the same to Yukino - that she's in love with Hachiman - but again it's not spelled out. We all know. But for some silly reason it's not spelled out.
Another central interlude is earlier when Yui discovers Yukinon's hidden treasure. Behind the stuffed Grue bear Hachiman got her, her hidden image of holding on to him on Splash Mountain. (Which hasn't been quite accurately transcribed into pictures.)
These scenes are necessary to understand everybody's actions for the complex ending. To understand why Yukinoshita seems to reject Hachiman and send him towards Yuigahama. To understand why Yui will in the end ask if it really feels alright and prompts her Hikki's final bid... towards the other girl. And why they all can remain together after. It also reveals Yui's mature side, her high degree of emotional intelligence, and her deep understanding fo and love for others.
We also get a bit into the head of Iroha Isshiki, Yukino and Haruno Yukinoshita, Hayato Hayama, and even Komachi Hikigaya. And a bit more of that if you read the final volume, 14.5. But the star of these scenes will always be Yui, the glue that holds them all together at the end - at great pain.
But in Volume 14 we get maybe the most convincing thing of all, something that I needed after seeing Hikki's indecisiveness for so long. He sums it up like this:
"I wish it had been a simpler kind of feeling.
If it had been ordinary love or yearning, then I'm sure I wouldn't have felt so intensely. I wouldn't feel like this only happened once in a lifetime."
This is during Hachiman's confession. He says he wasn't struggling so much with being in love or a crush. What took him so long was figuring out a very complex feeling. (The passage is longer.) He's apparently able to discern between teenager hormones and the fact how well suited he is to be with this particular person, and how important that is to the other - to be seen, understood, and be loved at a deeper level. But the complexity is also discerning it from the love he already feels - like he would for Yui.
Other things you get from the books
One of the best things about the books besides Totsuka fantasies is the ability to read Iroha's terribly revealing rejections to Hachiman, each of them escalating over the previous one, getting ever more like invitations to ask her out just not right now. And her increasing complaints that he doesn't listen at all when she says them.
Also Irohasu's merciless teasing is best paced in the books. And Hachiman's opinion of her. These two would have chemistry for sure. It's just that this particular protagonist was made from the beginning for a particular heroine, and that's what I find so convincing about this series' narrative.
Sadly volume 14.5 only treats us to only one date between Yukino and Hachiman. I was hoping for more, but I take what I get. Even on their one month anniversary they're still all blushing smiles and red ears, but at the same time Yukino is already setting out a common future. Very cute.
If you want a real treat, however, search the internet. There are several anthology volumes filled with content mostly by other authors borrowing the characters - but also the short story "Thus A New Enemy Appears Before Him" from the anthology called "Yukino's Side" written by Wataru Watari himself. It has been translated by fans - I couldn't find a way to buy an actual English translation for any of this. The short story, however, is told from the vantage of Yukino's dad - his perceptions of the three highly intelligent women in his life and how they establish facts for him. The eternal struggle of the future father-in-law is real! The way he finds out that his youngest has a boyfriend had me in stitches. Also, Yukino's mom is on her game the whole time. Basically him mostly watching as his wife, Haruno, and Yukino interact is ... priceless.

Yui: Thank you for everything, Kino-kun. I’d appreciate it if you could pass my thanks to Yuuri-san as well.
Kino: Will do!
Kanato: ...Just so you know, I don’t trust you in the slightest.
You are my enemy and nothing more. Please remember that.
Yui: K-Kanato-kun...
( I mean, it’s true that Kino-kun isn’t entirely trustworthy, but I can’t believe he’d say that straight to his face. )
Kino: Fufu. You have no filter, do you?
Kanato: Well then, farewell.
ー The scene shifts to the forest
Yui: ( Anyway, I wonder why Kino-kun was so nice to us in the first place...? )
( He wanted to interfere with the Apple of Eden project, didn’t he? )
( Then I don’t really understand why he’d save us...? )
( Hmー ....I wonder if he decided it wasn’t that big of a deal after all...? )
( I don’t really get it, but I doubt the two of us can become Adam and Eve under the current circumstances... )
Kanato: ーー Hey, Yui-san. What do you want to do at Eden?
Yui: Eh...?
Kanato: I mean, we’re going to live there from today onwards, right?
So I believe it wouldn’t hurt to discuss the things we’d like to do.
Yui: Hmー ...Sorry. I can’t think of anything on the spot.
Do you have something in mind?
Kanato: Yes, tons of things.
First of all, I want to eat the pudding you make.
Once I’ve completely filled my belly, I want to take a long afternoon nap together.
And then afterwards ... ーー
Yui: ( Kanato-kun seems very happy. )
( Is this right though...? Can I really take Kanato-kun to Eden as if I’m leading him straight into a trap...? )

Yui: Listen, Kanato-kun. There’s something I have to tell you...
Kanato: ...Yes?
Yui: I’m sorry for keeping it a secret. But...It’s very important, so I want you to listen.
Monologue
And so, I told Kanato-kun,
about the situation in the Demon World.
About how the things he has done,
caused certain developments,
in the already ongoing fight for sovereignty over this World.
As well as about which role,
the Sakamaki and Mukami brothers will take in this.
And finally, that if he were to go to Eden right now,
he might just find himself surrounded by many opponents,
who will try to strike him down.
Kanato: Hmm. I see.
They’ve all chosen to rise against me, it seems?
Yui: Y-Yeah...
Kanato: Fufu, it’s fine.
I have powers. I’ll make quick work of anyone who stands in the way of my goals.
Yui: B-But...! It’s your brothers and the Mukami family who are at Eden, remember?
Don’t you feel scared...or reluctant to fight them...?
Kanato: So?
I honestly don’t care who my opponent is.
I told you, didn’t I? I honestly could care less about what happens to this World, as long as I have you...
So I don’t really mind. I believe they can simply do what feels right to them.
Yui: ...
Monologue
He might have to kill his brothers.
Or alternatively,
he could just end up losing his life at their hands.
Despite that being the situation,
Kanato-kun did not seem bothered at all,
as he continued to cheerfully talk away,
about our supposed ‘dream life’ (夢の暮らし) at Eden.
There’s something wrong with Kanato-kun,
he’s gone insane (狂っている).
Still, perhaps I am the most crazy of all...
For being unable to abandon him,
despite of this.

Okay realistically, I'm pretty sure she may have had some social media before she came to the Sakamaki mansion, and maybe she had friends?
I don't know think if she had friends wouldn't they have reported a missing girl? But idk Rejet is inconsistent with ideas so we'll have to imagine.
anyways let's talk about what her Instagram would be like.
she'd post really cute and aesthetic photos. Her whole layout would be soft pinks for sure.
it's mostly a fashion blog but she will post about other's things she's doing or places she's gone to as well.
She likes a lot of flowers and since there are so many at the mansion she is able to take a lot of pics from different angles whenever she wants.
Yui will post about food that really tasted good sometimes.
I see that the triplets are typically the ones to tag her in things.
She follows the SMT brothers and kino bc well, does she have a choice?
She does get savage and will tag them in shit to roast them. Like if there is a meme relating to them or something she'll tag whoever it is.

Tsuki can't get enough of doing liveblogs~! So, what's up on the chopping block in my kitchen today? Why it's of the PreCure Flavor~! On this lovely Easter Sunday, April 17th 2022, Delicious Party finally came out of its hacker-induced hiatus! And because of that, I'd figure I'd do a late night celebration with one of these! What to call my tag though...

-So, DePaPre! I'm told that we use this because "DeliPre" is something both very different and very not safe for work. I like this, it sounds like everybody's favorite rehash, Decapre from Street Fighter IV! And to a lesser extent, Depeche Mode.
-My favorite so far? Probably Rosemary, he has that sassy gay uncle energy I aspire to. Yui's a great protagonist though, I love her very much. Kokone too! Spicy lass! And Kome-Kome~! Little fox babby! Idk how I feel about Pamu-Pamu yet though, but once Ran finally enters, I assume she and Mem-Mem will be a funny ramen lady and her dank little dragon dude who will help elevate this cast to new heights.
-Idk if I really like Takumi though. He looks like Sans Undertale, yeah, but like... he's not really interesting me so far.

I made my PriMagi oc! 🌸
I tried to scan it but the color balance want all over the place so I had to take a photo of the paper + add cute stickers and filters from Line Camera.
It is supposed to be me in PriMagi but idk how to nickname her. I used the PriMagi Check uniform as the basic outfit and I took some liberty to change up colors and cuts ~ She also has pink striks in her hair but I have yet to learn how to draw them in my style without make them look weird. ^^" (Also I included Yui-chan's bracelets ^v^)
She would probably dress and like clut party kei and she would make little accessories by herself. She's also a gentle childlike older-sister type of character (she might not like fighting and forget to compete in tournaments).
Her casual look and Mana-Mana partner designs are not yet decided!

the thing about daisuga is i feel almost everyone ships it but not many people have it as their number 1 otp, you know? i actually discovered the otp:true search function on ao3 just to filter out allllllll the fics that have them as a background pairing. there is a dedicated daisuga fanbase responsible for some of the loveliest works i’ve had the pleasure of consuming, but aside from them a certain majority of hq fans completely mischaracterize daisuga and then have the nerve to complain about daisuga based on their mischaracterizations!!
“daisuga is boring” ???? “daisuga is heteronormative” ???????!?!??!?!?!?!!?!?!?!??!???!?!?!?! i feel like non-daisugaists live in an alternate world because how. HOW do you look at daisuga and have THESE be the top two thoughts that come to mind??

daichi keeps suga grounded (side note i learned daichi’s name means earth which is so fitting because he’s literally the strong core of the team....he holds it all together and that extends to suga).
and then people say they’re “boring” for being “bland and domestic?”
do you know what domesticity is a sign of?? a foundation of TRUST. a longstanding buildup of learning each other, of adjusting to letting another person into your life and heart. of letting yourself feel love and be loved in return, to a point where you don’t need flashy signs of love or extravagant displays of affection. because you know that you love and you know they love you back, and you know that it’s the deepest love from the innermost part of your soul that won’t fizzle out because you’re not constantly on edge, waiting for the next big event in your relationship. because you know that the love you feel now isn’t dependent on anything but the time and dedication you’ve put into cultivating such a relationship, and you make the decision to keep loving even if it’s “boring” or not as “exciting” as before. it’s not about sparks and butterflies at the sight of your partner anymore, but a steady assurance that this is the person who makes you feel like home.
that’s daisuga.
daichi keeps suga grounded, but suga keeps daichi looking onwards.
and that’s why, no matter what, daisuga is the relationship i have always come back to in my seven years as a haikyuu fan. it’s not about feeling the sparks of passion. it’s about feeling at home with the person who understands you best.

Sawamura Eijun:
Enrolled to Seido because he can’t forget the sound of his pitches hitting Miyuki’s mitt.
Made at least 15 nicknames for Miyuki when he was a first year.
Makes Miyuki Snowmen every winter.
Woke up early in the morning to gather plants and make herbal remedy for Miyuki’s cold.
Really really wants to sleep in Miyuki’s room becauSe they are a “Battery.”
Convinced Okumura to tell him that Miyuki got a fever and went immediately to assist the catcher.
Was the one most surprised when he saw Miyuko actually practicing with others *queue shoujo filter* (must be common knowledge among first string that Miyuki trains alone)
Just wants to be praised and acknowledged by Miyuki.
He either wants to find ways to piss off Miyuki/get a reaction out of him but he also really cares and is worried about the catcher.
Sawamura also has good and close relationship with Furuya (that deserves another post) however his fixation on Miyuki is really standing out to me.
Miyuki may just be 6 mos. older than him but he really looks up to him as a senpai and somehow Miyuki is kind of his goal? Even though Miyuki’s leading is sometimes problematic, Sawamura always rises up to his challenges because he trusts the catcher wholeheartedly.
Miyuki slamming him against the wall in rage and throwing the ball hard at him during the first Yakushi match must be why Sawamura generally doesn’t want to question Miyuki and follows him blindly.
I want to see their battery take on another level though especially that now Sawamura is working independently with Okumura to improve himself. I hope the time will come that he’ll floor Miyuki so much that Miyuki (and by extension Okumura and Yui) will FINALLY let him lead the attack.
Miyuki has been praising him quite frequently nowadays but it is still not enough for Sawamura. I think Sawamura’s pitcher instincts told him after watching Narumiya, Mukai and Amahisa that it’s okay as a pitcher to have more control in the defense and he can shake off the catcher’s call despite how he was initially trained.
And I know he can do it because We have seen Sawamura working like that with Ono and Okumura and he performed well in those respective matches with the 1st string and Seiho.
No matter what everyone in Daiya says, Sawamura is the special kind of idiot who is the best in Shogi among Seido and is the one who can read difficult books. He’s also one of the few who with just little hints, perfected his own form, overcame the YIPS and created breaking balls including a really nasty cutter that will make MLB cry.
You can’t deny that it takes a genius and lots of hard work AND DISCIPLINE to achieve the kind of precision and creativity he now has in his pitching. Plus he never stops wanting to learn and to improve. The way he took the initiative and asks Nabe for scorebooks, data and videos to study and the way he had the gall to request lessons from Miyuki in front of everyone was scarily awesome.
Most of all Sawamura has the heart to take all his teammates’ disrespect, snide remarks, underestimation of him and turned it into power while remaining so kind and so brave.
I’m excited and hyped for Sawamura Eijun and so should you :D
