FFXIV Scions Headcanons: Discovering they married you after a drunken night
A/N: Starting off really good with being back
Context: Both of you got black-out drunk & ended up getting married. When you wake up & go down to meet with your friends, you find out about it. Thing is, both of you are madly in love with each other, but no one had confessed prior to this moment.
Tumblr media
Estinien
he would not believe it at first
he doesn't remember what he did while drunk but he has never gone out and just married someone
how can he believe it when most of the Scions can't stop giggling
until Alphinaud suggests him to ask Aymeric whom had specifically travelled for this wedding that "just could not wait another second"
Aymeric while concerned at first would have the goofiest smile on his face as he recounted how in love you & Estinien seemed to be
Estinien's was surely to turn quite the shade of red
but he didn't deny that he felt so enamoured for you
Estinien would then ask for you to speak to him privately
only prompting the others to quickly leave to give the newlyweds some time to themselves
"So we got married"
"Seems like it"
it would be quite silent until you blurted out that you do love him & have feelings for him
he could not believe his ears & would stay silent for a good few minutes while staring at you without blinking
"If you don't feel the same, that's quite alright-"
the shear panic he would feel when he snaps back to reality after hearing how dejected you sounded
he would never want your heart to break because of him
"NO! Wait. Hold on. Please. I feel the same. I'm just shocked. This is a lot to process so early in the morning."
"It's the afternoon. We slept-hold on. Did you just say you felt the same?"
"Should I not have."
"Tell me again, I think my ears couldn't remember."
he would let out a chuckle at your choice of words
"Your ears couldn't remember huh?"
"My brain hears but doesn't remember. My ears don't hear but they do remember."
"I really married you for this huh?"
"Yes, and from what I can tell, you love it."
Tumblr media
G'raha Tia
He would feel so horrified
no, not because he married you
it is but a dream to marry you
it may have been his dream but it was only supposed to be just that
it seems to be that not only was it his desire to marry you, but also yours to marry him
Urianger nor Y'shtola would lie about such thing
but now that you were "legally" married, he would have to come clean and admit his true feelings for you
and should you like to stay married, he would be the happiest man in the world
hopefully your relationship would progress & bloom until the time is right to one day have a more proper wedding
at least then you could renew your vows, update them from a drunken garble to more romantic words that would be remembered and cherished for a long time
Tumblr media
Thancred
😏😏😏
Well then
this shall be the greatest story to tell while on his travels
as a matter of fact, he is going to bring up the fact that he is the WoL's husband
he'll announce it loudly and proudly
aside from that though, he would be worried that this was a mistake
he doesn't see it as a mistake
but
what if you see it as such?
it is one of his deepest fears to think that the love of his life would view this marriage as a mistake
he is well aware that he has not confessed to you, sure, but by the way he acts with you, his feelings are very much out in the open
please if you would, spare his heart
should you break it, he would not know of what to do
Tumblr media
Urianger
this cannot be real
how could he have been so foolish
to be fair, he was drunk and well, so were you
and naturally, real feelings were bound to come out
and by the gods, did he have them for you
and he had kept them in for the longest time in fear that tragedy would strike & render him truly unlucky & a bad omen
but thus he hears from Thancred that this drunken wedding went rather smoothly
for that, he is grateful
should anything happen to you even then, he would not be able to forgive himself
you are the most precious person in his life and you truly deserved the world
he did love you
and it seems that his drunken-self wanted to make that quite clear
but to get married of all things and to not remember
or even to know how you felt about it
sure, Thancred said that you were just as lovestruck as him but he didn't get to experience that
and surely your sober mind would feel different
how could you be in love with him when there was surely others who were far better
he would need to apologize
should it come to it, he would prepare his heart should you tell him that you do not share romantic feelings for him
"Urianger? You're spacing out. Are you alright."
"Apologies, Y/N. I was just thinking."
"You were worrying. I know you well enough by now. Your leg bounces when you're nervous or worried."
and it had only stopped now since you had a hand on his leg
"All is well, I promise."
"It's about the marriage, isn't it? Are you not happy to have me as your partner? That's unfortunate as I was hoping you'd love me as much as I love you."
he would quickly pull you from the room to tell you just how much he adored you and loved you
and you wouldn't mind listening to his ramblings
should you get tired of talk, you would kiss him
Tumblr media
Y'shtola
she wouldn't be so surprised that the two of you would go off and get married
especially while drunk
it sounds so thrilling
she imagined that it would have felt much more so
surely she will tease you about this
and she will be crafty enough to slide it into conversations with others so that they know that she is your beloved wife
has she confessed to you? she hadn't before this, but she would once she can pull you away from the others
while it may be fast, she would want to marry you a second time, this time completely sober
why not? after all, you were both technically already married
besides, it would be a shame to annul the marriage only for the two of you to go and do it again somewhere down the line

Happy Starlight!
Season's Greetings from Rornir, Urianger, Alexandria, Thancred and the newly adopted baby kit, Akiko!
The large, unusual family, is showing their new baby girl around the cities! Thancred and Alex are married, as are Urianger and Rornir. But all four are best friends and intimate partners. They joke they're all in a big relationship together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
While Rornir and Urianger officially adopted Akiko, Alex and Thancred are her god parents. All four love and will raise this energetic little kit. She had to temporarily endure some seasonal smooches pictures, but was rewarded with new cities, pretty seasonal decoration and lights, more presents, and lots and lots of fresh warm food!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rorianger: Rornir hasn't ever celebrated a Starlight before. Either because he was busy being a Warrior of Light, had no one to share it with, or just wasn't in a place where it was actively celebrated. He's just happy to see Urianger excited. The pretty lights and decorations are his favourite.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thanlex: Celebrating their first official holiday together, Alex and Thancred are just happy to be around each other. Having only spent the last 6 years silently pining for each other and unaware of the other's feelings, it was a relief to many, especially their respect best friends Rornir and Urianger, when the two announced they'd eloped and married. While they are restless and tend to still take active jobs, they're especially happy to be a part of a family, with Rornir and Urianger and now a shared adopted little girl. Thancred is just happy to see her smile again.

Ariane Clairière
WoL/OC tag meme. Thank you for the tag, @lilbittymonster!
Tagging: @farfromdaylight @ecosystem-administrator @valeriannnn @azim-steppes @bluewren no pressure, if you feel like it. :)
With extra screenshots because I like looking at her.
Tumblr media
B A S I C S
Name: Ariane Clairière
Nicknames: A few close friends call her Ari, but it's mostly Ariane
Age: late 20s (she's 27 at the start of ARR)
Nameday: 23rd day of the Third Umbral Moon
Race: Wildwood Elezen
Gender: Female
Orientation: Bisexual
Profession: Healer, Plant Lady (botanist/alchemist), Adventurer
Tumblr media
P H Y S I C A L     A S P E C T S
Hair: Dark golden blonde/light brown depending on the light.
Eyes: Moss green.
Skin: Light, warm undertones, freckles on her face.
Tattoos/scars: No tattoos. Emotional scars only. 😂
Tumblr media
F A M I L Y
Parents: Anniette Clairière (mother), Gratien Clairière (father)
Siblings: Gratienne Clairière (younger sister by 18 months)
Grandparents: The Clairières (maternal grandparents) lived in Mor Dhona where Ariane grew up until age 12, and she knew them as a child. Their family has roots in Gridania some generations back (Clairière being a very Gridanian name). This does not result in Ariane being seen or accepted as Gridanian when she arrives there as an adventurer, and while she is probably closest to "Gridanian Elezen" culturally (more so than Ishgardian, certainly), she doesn't think of herself as Gridanian. Gratien's family is from Somewhere Else; he rarely spoke of them and Ariane and Gratienne never knew them.
In-laws and Other: So far, Ariane has never married; Count Edmont told her after Haurchefant's death that he had intentions of proposing to her, and that he would have been proud to call her a daughter and would always consider her family. Urianger's parents, of course, are Not Around; Ariane is shyly getting to know Moenbryda's parents and wishing she had known their daughter better. She has a gaggle of "siblings" she's picked up along her adventures: Alphinaud and Alisaie, Arya, Sylphie. It's taken a long time but now, at the end of Endwalker, the Scions do feel like family to her. She's closest to Urianger and the twins, but does also have a particular bond with G'raha and Y'shtola and Thancred because of what they all went through in the First--though it's a bond that takes a different form with each of them and I'm so tempted to ramble about that but I'll save it for another post. ;)
Pets: Marshmallow, her fat cat.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
S K I L L S
Abilities: She's a healer first and foremost, and at the moment, she's primarily focused on honing her skills as a Sage. But she's also had a bit of a return to white magic after a long time away--conjury was her first love in the arcane, but her failure to save Haurchefant made her feel like white magic had let her down when she most needed it, and she had put it aside for a long time, choosing to branch out into other schools of magic both protective and destructive, though she will always return to healing. She dabbles in various physical combat to keep herself fit. (Lyse scolded her in Stormblood for being unable to throw a punch, and started training her as a pugilist. She picked up a sword and shield in honor of Haurchefant. Thancred gave her some training with a gunblade in the First.) But she'll always be a mage first.
Hobbies: Your girl loves books. They were the one place her imagination could run free during her isolated childhood. A perfect afternoon to herself involves a good book, a cup of tea, and curling up on the sofa with Marshmallow, probably with Urianger somewhere nearby with his own cup of tea and his own reading. She also really loves gardening, and finds even the most complicated seed crossing a relaxing retreat from her day job. Recently, she has taken up painting as well, though she'd be the first to admit she's not very good at it, but it's fun to try and recreate some of the sights that have taken her breath away in her travels. And she loves music, listening as well as making it, though she'd never consider herself a performer; music for her is an act of community.
Tumblr media
T R A I T S
Most Positive Trait: She has high empathy, which she channels into compassion and a desire to help others and heal the world.
Most Negative Trait: She has high empathy, which means she can get absolutely overwhelmed by other people's emotions and presence to the point that she comes off as unfriendly because she just shuts down. Large groups stress her out. Being The Hero takes an emotional toll on her not just because of the practical expectations placed on her but by the sheer emotional burden of having so many people have feelings about her that they want to express to her--even when they're positive.
L I K E S
Colors: ALL THE COLORS. She loves color too much to choose, though you'll see a lot of green and purple if you come to her house.
Smells: Hydrangeas, old wood, the smell of fresh earth in the garden, tea with honey, the smell after a rainfall.
Textures: old hardwood floors, cut stone, brick and mortar, flowy fabrics, necklaces with stone pendants she can fidget with, fingers combing through hair, flowing water, cat fur.
Drinks: Teas of all kinds, hot and cold.
Tumblr media
O T H E R    D E T A I L S
Smokes: Nope.
Drinks: Very occasionally for social events, and not a lot. She can get one drink and sip on it for a long time.
Drugs: Nope. Makes her too nervous.
Mount Issuance: Her company mount is a white chocobo named Charlie. She also keeps a draft chocobo for carriage riding, and she's named Marigold. In truth, though, she's a little more enamored of four-legged beasts, and keeps a stable of peculiar horses. Grani was her mount in the First, and came home with her; the six-legged Arion is also a favorite.
Been Arrested: Well, there was that time in Ishgard... 😂 She's too much of a goody-two-shoes to make a habit of it, though!

Top 5 Relationships (romantic, familial, canon, HC, whatever!)
...oh you would do this to me, you wench.
-stares at the wall- Ugh, does this mean RP relationships??? Canon ones? What we see in game??
!(*%^&!(%*!*$!%&$)!*%(
(1) Dulia-Chai & Chai-Nuzz
Do I really have to explain why I love them? No? I will anyway.
I love love love seeing a happy, healthy marriage in media. Especially when they could've been treated like the typical sitcom marriage of "miserable man run roughshod by his overbearing wife." Nope! Dulia believes in her husband wholeheartedly, supports him, pushes him to succeed when his anxieties threaten to lock him up in place. Chai-Nuzz clearly adores her, lets her push him when he needs it, and looks to her for support and confidence. They're happy together, they're good to each other, and they accept each other, not blindly, but with an awareness of each other's faults that is accepting and loving and supportive.
(2) Feo Ul & the Warrior of Light
Yes, the WoL gets manipulated by the little lunatic. Yes, Feo Ul had how many layers of Plans™ prepared to yank into action at a moment's notice. Yes, we have to suck up like crazy when we need their help.
And I absolutely love it. I love that they're fascinated by mortals, that they appreciate the beauty of a brief, brilliant life. It charms me to hear them call the Warrior of Light "our sapling" while scolding the WoL for being so neglectful. They're charming and funny and demented and I just love it.
(3) Hades & Hythlodaeus (& Azem)
We don't get much of this (not nearly enough) and a lot of what we do get is subtext, a short story by SE, and what little encounters we have with the two Ancients in Endwalker.
And honestly, I can see why Hades would spend aeons mourning the love he lost after that. Having not one but two people who know you so deeply, who can tease you out of a bad mood when you don't necessarily want to be happy but oh well, they're there now, and then losing them? One to what he felt was his highest duty and the other to a disagreement that spiraled into losing them forever?
I'd be mourning that for the rest of my days, too.
(4) Annalei & Seifer d'Latu
Well, the ask doesn't say it can't be RP characters!
They're terrible, and I love them. They're absolutely atrocious people with basically no redeeming qualities, and I love them. They've fought each other tooth and nail for years, have killed each other's lovers, refused to admit how they felt, competed with each other in basically everything, fought back to back, side by side, and with each other all with equal fervor.
Anna is a psychopathic bitch and Seifer is a manipulative, sadistic jackass. They're horrible apart, worse together, and would bring on another Calamity for each other without hesitation. Neither would leave the other behind, even while teasing (in Seifer's case) or complaining (in Anna's) about having to help the other.
I find them endlessly inspiring, fascinating, and a little terrifying.
(5) Thancred Waters & Urianger Augurelt
...they're married, I'm sorry, I can't be persuaded otherwise.
And not even necessarily in a romantic sense (although I'd 100% believe it) but in that they are life partners and friends and support each other, tease each other, have worked together enough to know how to offset each other's weaknesses. It doesn't surprise me at all that they're always pairing up to go adventure.
Wouldn't you choose someone who knew you almost better than you know yourself to be your support, protection, and companionship on an adventure?
(Also c'mon, they're Ryne's dads! IT'S SO OBVIOUS. THEY'RE SO MARRIED.)

Prompt 23: Suit
FFXIV 30 Day Writing Challenge Prompt 23: Suit
“And here I thought I left situations like this behind in Sharlayan,” Thancred complained lightly, doing up the buttons on his newly purchased justaucorps as he watched himself in the mirror. It was almost strange to see himself in such formal wear, he was certain the last time he’d worn something like this in sincerity was at one of the formal parties the Leveilleurs would sometimes hold.
He certainly hoped he would enjoy this more than he ever had those oppressive things. Not that Lady Ameliance set out to host such parties, but she was fighting against the shadow Fourchenault would always cast on such events.
Urianger came up behind him, and their eyes matched in the mirror as the Elezen straightened Thancred’s lapels, smoothing the fabric down before draping his arms over his shoulders. He too was in a justaucorps, and Brigid had managed to get him into a dark shade of green instead of the grays he had started to favor of late. It contrasted nicely with the storm blue of his own. “You’re certain you don’t wish to remain with the children?” Thancred asked, looking up at him as a hand settled on Urianger’s arm.
Cred was no longer the darling accessory, to be draped along Brigid’s chest and fawned over by Ishgardian ladies, and so he, alongside Ryne and Gaia, was relegated to the nursery of House Fortemps. The girls were able to beg off under pretense of watching over the five year old, and Ryne especially seemed relived to not have to spend an evening rubbing elbows with Ishgardian nobility.
Urianger shrugged, leaning down to nose at Thancred’s hair. “We need only remain long enough to satisfy standards of propriety,” he said. “I am well versed in timely exits, after so many years.”
Thancred hummed softly, thinking about it. As one of Louisoix’s primary students, Urianger would have been required to put in appearances at formal events held very early on. “Yes, of course.”
“Well now look at them, pretty thing,” came a drawl from the doorway, and the two men smiled as they looked over, Thancred making a point to lean even more into the taller man. “A cozy pair they are.” Hilda crossed her arms, her justaucorps in a soot black (second hand from the looks of it as well, barely visible patches and overdyed to escape the inevitable fading, only noticeable to someone who had personal experiences with such things), legs in the same dark trousers Thancred and Urianger were wearing. She was grinning widely, hair tied back with a scarlet ribbon, matching her eyes perfectly.
At her side stood Brigid, giggling behind a hand. She was corseted quite happily into one of the high house gowns, the Rhotano blue shade perfectly setting off her hair and eyes, while matching well with the blue and green Urianger wore. Peeking out from under her hem, which nearly brushed the ground, were her practical boots. They all knew there were quite the number of peticoats and slips hiding under that dress, as well as a couple of fire crystal shards sewn into the lining, in an attempt to keep Brigid toasty warm. “Aye, quite cozy,” she agreed, pecking a kiss to Hilda’s cheek before almost gliding over to her husbands, a faint rustle attending her.
“Hello, Spitfire,” Thancred greeted her warmly, reaching out for her hand and brushing his fingers over the rings settled on it.
“My desert rose,” Urianger said softly, reaching for her other and threading their fingers together. “Thou art as lovely as always.”
Hilda rolled her eyes fondly. “Honeymooners,” she teased. “Now c’mon, it’s the first ball of the season and that little wedding of yours is still the talk of the town.” Despite that it had been nearly six moons ago.
“Aye,” Thancred said on a sigh, putting an arm around Brigid’s waist, the trio walking over to Hilda. “Let’s go put in our first appearance in Ishgardian high society as properly married.” He wrapped his other arm around Hilda’s waist, tugging her close and earning another eye roll.
“And scandalize the lot of them, already with a mistress on your arm, and in front of your lady wife and lord husband at that,” she joked, but relaxed against him anyway.
Brigid laughed brightly, her hand still holding tightly to Urianger’s. “And ‘twill be such fun,” she agreed, winking in her girlfriend’s direction. “Cannae be waitin’ to be readin’ ‘bout it in the society papers!”

Note
"When are you and Thancred going to get married?" it was a joke in her head, but Kore found herself actually curious on the matter now that she voiced it.
Her gaze skittered to where Ryne, Gaia, ans Thancred inspected the new changes to the landscape.
"I mean, you two have been together as long as I can... well, I thought you were together back on the Source, but Y'shtola corrected me when I brought it up," she admitted, moving her hand through the air as if swatting away the self-correction.
The Empty had changed in a burst of aether and love, flowers and wind scattering in a joyous burst that left the ground lush and air free of the dry crackling of a sin eater's presence. The girls have already lept to explore— Ryne first, Gaia behind, the darker girl's hand never leaving Ryne's grasp as she was dragged along to see what they transformed this into.
Urianger is watching, smiling widely, hands clasping one of the flowers that he'd caught reflexively. This world created anew because of people's connection and dedication to each other, and his daughter and friends he holds so dear, it's— "Ah?"
What was that question? Wh- why was that question? "I. Ah? Wherefore... dost thou asketh, Kore?" His voice isn't strained and he's not going to flush. The thought of it now rises unbidden and is plaguing him. Well, he already has... there's. Thancred couldn't possibly. Unless he did. Doesn't he dislike commitment? Except he said for Urianger he'd just.
Does it. Matter? Urianger's gaze is fixed on Thancred's back as the other's off in the distance looking at something. Is there that much a difference between saying Thancred is his partner or his spouse? ....Now that he thinks it, there is a difference, and the concept alone flusters him. "Ne'er did either of us bring up the idea," he phrases the last word hesitantly, unsure what to call it, "and assuredly, as the world doth fight on, all Scions must be too busy for such frivolity." And surely it's too early to ask such a thing!
Her other statement makes Urianger turn to face her, expression a mix between affronted and embarrassed. "On the Source, nay— and thou art not the first to bring up such a thing. I cannot understand how all are so unsurprised to hear I and Thancred are involved, or assumed only we had been before. Tell me not that my attentions were so obvious that thou saw feelings not even I knew of...." He sounds defeated. This whole time, he assumed he had been mysterious and inscrutable in the amount of attention he paid to Thancred, nothing more than friends, and surely all the Scions would have been astounded to hear he and Thancred were... involved(???? is that the word?) on the First. But nay, Y'shtola only said 'just now?' and Ryne's reaction was 'I thought you were already married when I met you, though?'. How were he and Thancred, supposed bard of great emotional intelligence, the last to notice! He thought he was subtle!

Ring: Day 6
Ring: n. 1. a small circular band worn on a finger.
2. a group of people drawn together due to a shared interest or goal, especially one involving illegal or unscrupulous activity.
Present; somewhere post-5.4; K'dajhir, overjoyed to be reunited with his sister, cannot contain his excitement in introducing her to his friends. In fact, he has quite a lot of friends. An inordinate amount of friends. During a chance meeting in Ul'dah, J'napha discovers the whole affair is somehow more sordid than she and the Scions thought.
I changed Dajhir's name, kept the tribe the same because I can and I must. I'll explain the rest soon.
This is a makeup/late post for FFXIVWrite!
FFXIVWrite 2023 Masterlist
---
"Has anyone else noticed..." The corner of Thancred's mouth twisted into a frown. "J'napha's brother has an awful lot of... friends?"
"There has been an odd amount of activity around The Seventh Heaven recently," said Alphinaud. "My attention has been rather divided, though."
"It's not just that. K'dajhir has asked more times than I can count to contact J'napha by linkpearl. Always he's intent on her meeting him somewhere." Tataru knitted her eyebrows. "After all J'napha went through to find him, I couldn't possibly refuse. He's her family. But it's certainly odd."
"I don't think she's avoiding him," Krile said. "She always seems to be in a good mood when he calls, if a little harried."
"Could they be suitors!" Tataru cried, eyes wide. She clasped her hands over her mouth to hush herself. "Could K'dajhir be trying to marry off J'napha?" she said in a whisper.
"T'would be exceeding bold for a man who only just rejoined her life," Urianger said.
Y'shtola crossed her arms. "It's hardly a good time to direct attentions toward settling down -  assuming that is what's unfolding here. And I don't quite believe that." She tapped her knuckles to her chin. "No, something else is afoot. And it has nothing to do with a ring, I'd wager."
"Please let it be something else! I'm nowhere near skilled enough to fit her eternal bonding dress! And besides, it's supposed to be to—to--!" When Tataru would not be shushed, Krile clasped her hands over her face to quiet her.
"Has anyone just asked her?" Alisaie chimed in. "If there was something untoward going on, would she not have said as much by now? It's been going on for weeks."
"Pray, tell, has she shared anything with you, then?" Y'shtola gestured across the table between them. "I don't think she and I have spoken at length in well over a moon."
"No, I've been preoccupied with the porxies. Thancred? You always get the good dirt."
Thancred shrugged and shook his head. "I'll forgive your poor choice of words, Alisaie. And no, I've been in and out on reconnaissance. Perhaps G'raha?"
"No!" cried Tataru, prying herself away from Krile. "That would be a fate too cruel!"
"Oh dear, Tataru hadst all but dispensed her dowry," lamented Urianger. "Perhaps we ought prevail upon our esteemed friend's prolonged respite and simply give voice to that which dost vex us."
"W-w-w-wait! She's coming now!" Tataru flailed her arms as both Krile and Alisaie moved to intervene.
"Someone ask her!" said Alisaie, kicking at Alphinaud under the table.
"I will not ask her something like that! You do it!"
"Bloody hells!" growled Thancred. "Ah, J'napha!" His tone had changed completely, his face brightening, his smile perhaps a little forced. "Passing through?"
J'napha, who had been thoroughly about some business of her own, stopped short to regard the table full of scions. "On my way to meet Dajhir. Something amiss?" Embarrassment gathered in her face. "Were we to meet today?" she said conspiratorially, eyes wide.
"Tis mine belief our paths doth crossed by happenstance. Though when they shall again, I cannot say."
"So, it's best I remain nearby? I've tidings from the Bozjan southern front. Nothing pressing. But if you've news of the towers..."
"No, no, no! No such events have unfolded that should keep you from your appointment," said Alphinaud, who may have been more convincing had he not gone slick with cold sweat.
"It's only lunch. I could cancel." She crossed her arms, considering a moment, tail lashing. She groaned. "Would that it actually was only lunch."
The seated group held their breath, all leaning forward just slightly.
"It's been quite a lot of meals of late," she mused. "And always with a different friend..." She sighed. "My pockets grow lighter by the day." She chuckled to herself before looking up to see the crowd leering in her direction. "All's well, truly?"
"Nothing that warrants your concern," Y'shtola waved her hand as though to disburse the tension. "Pray enjoy your time together. I'm sure you have matters of your own to discuss."
J'napha smiled. "Should you've need of me, I'm just across town." She locked eyes with Tataru and tapped the linkpearl situated near her ear.
"Of course, my lady! Best of luck!"
J'napha's gaze lingered warily on Tataru, seemingly offput by her ominous farewell. She looked them all over, nodding as she took her leave.
"I think we could have done without that last bit there, Tataru," said Krile after J'napha had departed.
"I panicked!" She covered her face.
"There's only one thing to do about it!" Alisaie said, pounding her fist on the table.
"What's that?"
"Thancred, you're going to spy on them."
They each exchanged glances, some concerned, others incredulous, but not Thancred. He just sighed and slumped against the table.
"Is it really that pressing?"
The consensus was yes, it was.
There was not much opportunity to hide in plain sight on the cafe terrace, in particular when one of those upon whom you were spying happened to be a friend of a great many years. So Thancred had to charm his way into one of the adjacent buildings, to a room within earshot. Thancred pressed himself up under the balcony where J'napha could not see him. It was uncomfortable, but it sure beat the frigid Garlean air.
He heard footsteps, then a voice he'd heard before.
"Dear sister, this my friend Fraesynt." Thancred could hear the chair skid across the stone floor as J'napha gave her pleasantries. "Fraesynt, this is J'napha, the Warrior of Light."
"For true?" said the Roegadyn. "Oh, the pleasure is all mine! I've been a fan of yours since O'Ghomoro. Right in my backyard, it was. Swear I heard Titan himself fall that day."
"Oh." J'napha chuckled the way she did when she wasn't sure what else to say. He'd heard her do that a lot over the years. This couldn't bode well. If this was some sort of suitor business, stranger loves than a Miqo'te and Roegadyn had blossomed. Still, Thancred could think of a dozen other fans of the Warrior of Light more deserving of her affections.
The meal which followed was rather unremarkable. Fraesynt peppered J'napha with questions throughout, as to be expected. What caught him by surprise was the ease with which she recounted the highlights of the past few years, as bloodlessly as could be managed, but the incongruity of it all was that she deigned to even address his questions. In the past, when she'd been stopped on the street or caught up in good company, she'd been cagey at best about the details of her triumphs and travails as the realm's champion. Like as not she'd had a bit of practice during their frequent meetings.
With the meal finished, they departed. At the sound of retreating footsteps, Thancred peered above the balcony to see K'dajhir and Fraesynt - with a glowing smile. The two shook hands heartily. Then Fraesynt pressed a small sack of gil into K'dajhir's waiting hand.
"He's selling her!" Thancred slammed his hand upon the bar to gasps of shock. He groaned. "No, what I mean is K'dajhir is charging these 'friends' for an introduction to the Warrior of Light. I wager he knows none of them from the first."
"Do you think she is aware?" asked Y'shtola. "Surely one's own kin would not be... commoditizing her without her consent at the very least."
"Do you think J'napha would be about this business?"
"I'd say not. My lady is hewn from a cloth much finer."
"We should tell her. Else we can scare call ourselves her friends."
"Tell who what?"
They all started at J'napha's voice, hair standing on end.
"J'napha! Full glad are we you've returned!" Alisaie exclaimed.
Clearly purturbed, she surveyed their equally nervous expressions. "What's happened?"
Alisaie and Y'shtola elbowed Thancred. He sighed.
Several weeks later found J'napha in Ul'dah finishing her business with Serendipity. She'd promised she could increase the aetheric flow of J'napha's halfgloves without sacrificing their flexibility. She didn't lie. J'napha inspected her hands in the gloves as she ambled past Eshtaime's, the waypoint at which she and K'dajhir would meet.
Having made the journey together, she'd made it quite difficult for him to slip away to make any new acquaintances, much less further deals. Given the change in the winds she was loathe to sour the mood.
"Napha! I'd thought the gold tinkerers would have kept you longer. Let me see." She flexed her fists for him. "Stunning. Napha, I'd like you to meet a friend of mine."
She sighed, shoulders falling. "Dajhir, I--  Hancock? Why are you here?"
"You two know each other?" K'dajhir's voice had ascended several octaves.
"But we've already met." She was addressing the merchant directly, shaking her head at her own confusion. "You know how to reach me should you have need, in fact, I couldn't escape you if I tried. What need have you of my brother?"
Hancock shrugged. "A young man approaches me saying he can introduce me to the Warrior of Light. I just wanted to see if he was telling the truth. Oh, and check the stock on hand." He chuckled, gesturing toward Eshtaime's behind him.
J'napha leaned in, speaking low with a dangerous bite to her words. "Exactly how much did he bid you pay him?"
"Pay... him...? I... " Hancock turned around to look at their intermediary, a carefree airiness remaining in his voice. "Dajhir, what is she speaking of? I didn't realize this was business."
"'Dajhir'?!"
K'dajhir stepped between them and guided J'napha off to the side.
"Napha! Please, don't embarrass me in front of him."
"Come off it, Dajhir." Her teeth were still tight together, neck tense and ears straight to the sides. "I know you've been making coin off these 'introductions.' Off of me. I thought you took a hint back in Mor Dhona. Now, fleecing Hancock I could normally abide – I'm sure he's done his own share -  but all of this taken together-"
"Hancock is... I wasn't going to charge him," he said, matter-of-factly. "He's more of a special friend."
She shoulder-checked him, tail flailing, her hushed voice on the edge on control. "'Special friend'?  So not only are you using my name to make coin, you're using it to... to take men to bed?"
"Well, that's only if things go to plan. Doesn't always."
"You're using my name to get laid?!" He hushed her.
"Well you're not, so..." He shrugged, wide-eyed. "Someone ought to."
"But of all people - Hancock?" She rolled her eyes.
"Yes?" Hancock replied from her periphery. She glared in his direction. He offered a feeble wave.
"Foul."
K'dajhir whispered in her ear. "Aren't his spectacles so shiny, though?"
"Most foul."

13. How important are romantic relationships to your OC? Do they prefer casual sex, short flings, or long term relationships? Do they want to get married or are they content with what they have? Or do they have no interest in romance whatsoever?
(last question struck through because I know that Surkie has interest in romance XD)
SEE RELATIONSHIPS ARE A FUN SUBJECT FOR SURKIE, mostly because it's such a tumultuous subject for her - and actually, that last question is applicable at different points in her life. So the short answers are:
Yes, they are important now but not necessarily have been
Surkie has mostly functioned on casual sex and a handful of short flings + one tumultuous FWB situation but now that she's figured out what she actually wants, it's predominantly focusing on the long-term relationships she's built over ~7 years
Surkie honestly has never wanted to get married? Like, she just never considered it as an option or something she'd do. She's perfectly content staying at the dating stage because she has no intent on being unfaithful whatsoever and has full trust in her partners. Yet understand that she's the one who was quietly freaking out on the boat ride to Sharlayan because of Aymeric popping the damn question to the three of them. She's more than fine staying at just fiances - especially since it gets people off her ass more than just lover, or w/e - but she's been warming up to the idea of marriage it's just...not a pressing desire? just a lack of wanting it, not necessarily against (though the legal ramifcations she could really do without)
She USED to not have interest in romance. And that's a trauma response on her part! Because her intro to romance and first - and for a while, only - example was her abusive ex girlfriend, Misaki. She set the standard for romance which made Surkie allergic to the concept. Only when people began to actually treat her properly is when she fully began to unpack said trauma and how it's warped her perception on intimate relationships.
More convoluted response below:
So, romantic relationships fluctuate in importance for Surkie through her life. She thought it was something she wanted as a teenager - which is when she got with Misaki - but that relationship went so poorly and had such a drastic power imbalance that it skewed Surkie's idea of what it means to be romantic and what romance should look like. So through ARR to about the beginning of HVW, she focused predominantly on casual sex and a few flings here and there to try and figure herself out. Misaki really fucked with her head and made her really standoffish to the idea of anything romantic or anything that'd leave her vulnerable. This is also where she develops her hard stance on top only, and has a fairly lengthy list of women she's slept with in the year and a half for this time frame.
This in part shifts because of traveling with Seraphin and Teodore. The two hooked up during their adventures and thus Surkie was stuck around these assholes constantly. It also immediately brought into perspective her only serious relationship (and first one) and how fucking awful it was. It left her feeling hollow and sick and basically told herself to not pursue anything serious lest she be lured in with the joy those two have for it all to come crashing down.
Ysayle was the first person she had proper romantic feelings for after Misaki. While she was good friends with Moenbryda and thought she might've felt something for Y'shtola, neither of those really panned out? Same with Yugiri. Ysayle, however, she was enamored with. And that was the glimpse into how things could've gone and she let herself be hopeful for once.
Uuunnnntil Azys Lla.
Surkie spent a fair amount of time after the fact trying to define what this sort of thing was for herself - especially now that Gwen and Y'shtola were a thing, and Katsuro, Thancred, and Urianger were public, and the fact that Altan had W'khittri - but it never worked. She tried Yugiri again, and that didn't work. She genuinely tried with Aymeric - the first man she ever had feelings for - and that ended in a panic attack and them keeping things at arms length while skirting around open feelings. Flings picked back up to an unhealthy degree, and instead of recognizing the fact that she was deeply lonely, her brother just chastised her for having bad coping mechanisms.
Then of course, the long term fling with Estinien that turned into feelings that she then tried to push him to get with Aymeric so that she had an excuse to not get with either (YOU FOOL, ALL THREE OF YOU ARE POLYAMOROUS). Loneliness and the issues with her brother began to compound and worsen the more obvious the couples got, which made the flings and one night stands into a regular occurrence.
Shadowbringers made that all worse. Katsu's relationship drama was front and center, Gwen getting to reunite with Y'shtola, and everything going on made that loneliness worse as Surkie dove headfirst into her prolonged will-they-won't-they with trying to sleep with Cyella. Something about this woman reminded her of Ysayle and she may have...spent a good chunk of that expansion pack trying to sleep with her because - from her perspective - this was the closest she'd ever get to ever being with Ysayle. Which...well she didn't know Cyella was being standoffish for the same reason since she saw her own assumed-dead-ex in Surkukteni (hm i wonder why). Regardless, because so much of the romantic bullshit culminated in Shadowbringers while Surkie was the only one of the group that wasn't partnered, it was starting to really hurt her and her brother was no help in the matter whatsoever. She had feelings for a man that her brother hated, her feelings for her "dead" ""unrequited"" crush only growing worse with time and not better, so this became a sensitive subject. And understandably (and predictably), she responded to this not with expressing the fact that she doesnt want to be lonely anymore (because again, gestures at katsuro and gestures at the group who is uh. kinda with each other? save the twns and ryne obvs, but like. y'shtola/gwen. thancred/urianger/katsuro. seraphin/teodore. only adult who wasn't partnered was the exarch), but with frustration at affection, anything implying romance, and denying herself from entertaining the idea that it'd ever get better. Again: she was plotting on how to get Estinien and Aymeric together so they'd be happy with each other and she'd not be that perpetual curse that got people she was interested in almost or actually killed.
Yeah, she's. Really fucked up and relationships for her are kind of a big deal for her.
She only starts to even out right around 5.3. Sure, the edge was curbed in 5.1 by briefly seeing Estinien again, but it was right back to the battlefield and having to stuff down how she felt for the sake of maintaining a Strictly Platonic relationship (you fucking dumbass, he's liked you since hvw). 5.3 is when she finally breaks from how awful she fucking feels and how fucked up this has made her, especially since the Cyella stuff has reached a head and they have to end things for their own sakes due to just...constantly reopening old hurt in the other respectively. 5.3 is when she fully gets with Estinien, but understand that she's a fucking wreck at this point. She doesn't explicitly know what she wants - does she want this arrangement to continue? does she want to just be honest? does she just want the feelings to go away? - but she opens her heart regardless of how much it hurts to do so and how anxious it makes her. This is panic attack no2 when confessing to someone, by the by.
This tangent is relevant because actually being honest with someone who genuinely cares about her and knows how to handle her vulnerability and internal issues around this stuff allows her to work through exactly what she wants out of things, realizing just how fucked up Misaki made her, and that y'know yeah, she can allow herself to pursue a serious relationship even with everything that led up to that point.
And then she reunites with Ysayle. And then she upholds her promise with Aymeric. There's also the stuff with Heustienne I'm finalizing - not to mention the ENW + post ENW acquisitions of Gwendoline and Venat, but that's all an aside.
What's more relevant is the fact that the relationship she builds with her partners helps give her needed perspective and time and space to work through the smothered down issues Misaki left her with. Flings quickly become less appealing, she's more okay with the idea of settling down with them (especially since they're now over here having kids), and marriage goes from an uncomfortable subject to something she actually humors since she still gets giddy from the fact she has three fiances, something she's always reminded about when picking at the engagement necklace she's got.
tl;dr Surkie's had a very rough relationship with relationships due to the abuse she experienced in her very first one. It's only through working through that trauma does she finally figure out what she really wants, but until she got there she stuck with flings and emotional distance to avoid getting hurt again.

3, 19, and 29 for aurcred :> 💗
Thank you, Azia beloved! 🥰
3. By contrast, what was the moment that first made their ~heart~ Soft for the other person? Not necessarily a conscious realization of “I love this person,” but a moment that had them like “Oh…I adore them…”
The history of Aureia and Thancred's relationship is that of upwards momentum only for it to come to a screeching halt due to outside circumstances, losing touch or falling out of sync because of it, and then having to rebuild things from the ground up.
Aur's had three moments where this is the case.
The first: During the very early days of their friendship. They may have known each other for only a few months at the time. But he showed her Ul'dah, got her accustomed to the sights and sounds, the markets, all the unexpected little gems hidden away in different parts of the city. She would likely have never found her footing if not for this.
The second: Sitting on the roof of a building overlooking the Ala Mhigan quarter at night. Their friendship has been thoroughly tested by this point, they have both gone through a harrowing period of hating each other. Most of those issues have been worked through by now, but there's still a lot of hesitance in the way that they treat each other. He gives her something--the ring Nanamo originally gifted her back in Ul'dah, which she pawned for gil in Ishgard, and then it eventually showed up again in a market. There's a lot of feelings attached to that ring, and the fact that he found it, recognized it, and brought it back to her brings a lot of feelings flooding back.
The third: Walking the sands of Amh Araeng on the way to Malikah's Well. After everything they've just gone through, knowing what he put his life on the line for… He's battered and bruised from the fight, but she knows they're both going to be OK. It's a moment that crystalizes everything for her, but in a much deeper way than the other times.
For him, he's always been a little soft for her--right from those early days in Ul'dah when she was a strange, sarcastic, impatient person out of her element and clearly keeping a multitude of secrets, but with a genuine kindness beneath it all.
19. Are they okay with public displays of affection? Do they like them?
Aur's not a fan of them. She hates the feeling of her emotional intimacy being perceived, especially by the larger public. If she's in a private place with trusted friends, then she's far more open--she and Thancred have a lot of small touches and gestures, a touch on the shoulder or the arm, slipping their hand into the other's, a kiss on the forehead. But if they're around people she doesn't know, all of that goes away.
29. What compromises are they making in their relationship?
There are a number of things they butt heads on or don't agree with. Sometimes these are small things (whose space is whose - Aur needs her space, maybe too much space, is it really necessary for her to have a whole room devoted to weapons???); sometimes these are larger disagreements (how best to support and help Ryne, they don't always agree on this parenting situation they've ended up in since neither of them know what they're doing they're idiots (affectionate) help them Urianger; religion is also a bit of a hot topic for them, but it's complicated by Endwalker's events and I don't think either of them are eager to bring it up and they're leaving it alone).
But they always try to make room for the other and respect each other's opinions, even when they disagree. This probably manifests most clearly in how independent they are. They both go off and do their own things, sometimes they don't see each other in person for months (even after they're married). But when push comes to shove they always have each other's backs. They support each other unconditionally.

You know that scene in PotC where Will and Elizabeth are fighting for their lives and decide to have Barbossa marry them during the fight?
Can we have that with G'raha, Thancred, Aymeric, Haurchefant, Estinien, Urianger, and Y'shtola? (WoL being 'Elizabeth', the other being 'Will')?
I'm a sucker for the scene due to how hysterical but also heartwarming it is XD
A/N: Hello! I actually had no idea what this scene was ^^'' I have not really watched PotC. Perhaps a few scenes if any. But anyways, I looked up the one in your request and it's pretty good. Chaotic.
I'm not sure exactly how you wanted this request written, but I hope you don't mind too much if I pick just one of the characters from your list. It may be a little difficult to do them on all in this (actually, I'm more worried it may get repetitive). So, I picked Thancred as I feel like he would fit this the most.
Tumblr media
so yeah, you guys would be surrounded by enemies when suddenly he gets this bright idea
maybe it's because both of you had gotten quite injured already
no time was better
"Y/N! MARRY ME!"
"THANCRED ARE YOU CRAZY!?"
the other Scions would be scattered around you fighting as they listen to both of you yell from one side to the other
"I am rather crazy for you, my dear. But I assure you, I am quite serious on the matter."
no response from you as you take down another few enemies
"Y/N! What's your answer? Will you marry me? Don't leave me to wonder-"
"URIANGER!"
"Urianger!? Wha- I wasn't aware he was even an option. Urianger, what do you have to say for yourself. It isn't like you to go around stealing other people's partner."
that earned him a eye roll from the man in question
"I know not what you speak of Thancred. I am most assuredly not going to 'steal' them as you claim. They are merely just a friend."
"URIANGER MARRY US!"
"I refuse until I receive the apology I am owed. And we are in the mist of a battle, can this not wait?"
Thancred would apologize before launching himself forward towards you and your opponent
"If I must. Dearly beloved we are gathered here at this battleground to bare witness to the union between two Scions-"
this had to be the craziest thing that the scions had ever witnessed, but it was pretty badass
honestly if anyone was going to have a wedding like this, it was going to be you and Thancred
"Your vows! Say them now. Should you get distracted, I will protect thee."
with that, Thancred pulled you out of the line of fire of one of the enemy attacks
"Y/N, do you take me as your husband, to love, hold and to fight alongside-"
he was interrupted by an enemy who had come straight at both of you
you had to both dodge to avoid is multi-attacks
"Bloody hell! I am trying to marry the love of my life here! At least wait until they give me their answer before you try to kill us!"
"Not the time, Thancred. But yes, I do."
"I'm glad. I would be heartbroken if you suddenly chose to run away with one of the other eligible bachelors here."
"FOCUS. Thancred Waters, will you take me as your husband/wife?"
"I do!"
"You may now kiss."
of course, the two of you were a bit preoccupied to kiss as more enemies crowded around you
"Have they kissed?"
"NO WE HAVEN'T!"
"THEN DO SO ALREADY!"
"If we die, Urianger, this is your fault."
You shoved through the hoard of enemies, taking as many down as you could until you got to Thancred
you roughly grabbed at his collar and pulled him in for a quick kiss
he leaned in for another kiss but was stopped Estinien who pushed both of you back
he had managed to stop a enemy blade from slicing into you
"There will surely be a time for that later. For the time being, be on your guard."

The Desk
1.6k. Part 1 to Carbuncle!
Rowan watched the waterwheel turn as she sat waiting outside the Carpenter's Guild. Her mother had given the suggestion that she should get any commissions started for Urianger as soon as possible. With how rarely they all were at peace, she found it to be prudent.
"The Timbermaster's ready for you, Mistress Argentas," the secretary said.
She nodded, took one last look the waterwheel, and hoped she could explain her vision to Beatin.
He smiled at her as she walked in. "So the Rowan-child is getting married, is she?"
"It appears to be so, Guildmaster," Rowan smiled back. "Thank you for lending your time to me."
"Oh, anything for Alfinne's daughter." Beatin waved his hand dismissively. "What did you have in mind?"
"At the very least, a desk and chair." She pulled out a few pages from her folio. "I'm coming to the guild because I want these charts inlaid in the desk."
Beatin picked up the chart and gave it a discerning look. "Star charts, eh? I suppose it would suit a wizard's study. We should easily make it turn, as well."
"Good, I wouldn't want him to try and turn the entire desk to get a better angle for his calculations..." She laughed at the thought of Urianger struggling to rotate the heavy desk.
"He wouldn't be the first to try that." Beatin shook his head. "Such men inspired such leaps in innovation. Is there aught else you'd like to have as part of the commission?"
Rowan nodded. "Aye, there is. Tis a bit more on the fanciful side, but I have confidence you and your carpenters can get it made. To put it bluntly, my fiance is a bit of a mess. My house is now covered in books, despite the extensive bookshelves the guild has installed."
"And we thank you for that work."
"Right. What drives me crazy is that despite having space to put the books, Urianger continues to leave them on the floor. Then because he's working on multiple tomes at a time, he looses the one he needs at any moment and then proceeds to tear up the house."
"Mayhap you might employ a maid to remain tidy? Or multiple maids?"
She shook her head. "Nay, he would quickly undo their work trying to find what he needs at the given moment. I think he actually has a display problem, rather than a storage problem."
"How would you have us display these books in a different manner than shelves?"
"Before I came in, I was watching the waterwheel turn..."
*   *   *   *
When Beatin told Rowan that her commission was ready, she had all but forgotten that she had put it in in the first place. The events of the past few moons had really thrown her sense of time through a loop. Once again, she thanked her mother's wisdom in the matter.
Before she would confirm what day the Guild would come in to deliver and install the desk set, she called Urianger on the linkpearl to see if how much longer he would be traveling with Thancred.
"There hath been a lull of travails in our travels, so we saw fit to pause and reconnect with loved ones. I was just about to contact thee to expect mine arrival ere long," he said in happy tones.
"How long is ere long? I... actually have your wedding gift ready. Well, it will be ready quickly. I just need you out of the house for a bit," Rowan said.
"Shouldst thou have enough time to prepare the gift if I return tonight? I have a few errands to run myself, but I doubt I could manage to stay away from thee any longer."
"It should be. I might have to pay more, but I definitely have enough gil to cover it."
"Very well. I look forward to out reunion, my love."
"See you then, darling." Rowan smiled, then turned to Beatin. "Do you have enough hands to get it over to the cottage today?"
"For the ones who saved the Star, I do," Beatin said.
Rowan, realizing that she would need to clean up the house before anyone other than her fiance came home, hurried off to her house as the Carpenter's Guild started to load the commissioned pieces into a wagon. She made a clear path from the entrance to her old bedroom, which would serve as Urianger's study when everything was installed. Still full of anticipation, she started baking so the installers would have a treat after all of their hard work. She would tip them in gil as well, but Mama had always done these kinds of things when she had any workers in the home.
She tried so desperately hard not to add instructions on top of Beatin's. Sure, it was her house and she was paying for the entire endeavor, but she wasn't the Guildmaster and she hated when idle hands were issuing commands. She told Beatin to let her know if she could be useful, but he said that anything past glasses of water weren't necessary. Moving furniture was part of the profession.
So she waited anxiously as various folks heaved, turned, measured the door frame, heaved, measured the door frame again, and then finally got the large desk through the door without scratching the door, floor, or desk. The chair came in much easier, carried in by Beatin himself. The third and final piece entered her house unassembled. The Guildmaster shooed most of his workers to the kitchen as he worked on it, so Rowan offered them the cookies and gave them their tips as she was also banned from the study until it was completed.
She got to see the finished piece when one of Beatin's more trusted assistants, Cemi, called her in.
"Beatin, this is amazing!" Rowan said, turning the wheel.
She grabbed a few opened books and placed them on the trays as if she were referring to all of them. Then she turned the wheel. All three trays stayed upright with a gentle swinging motion. Mayhap it wouldn't serve to place an open flagon of ale on one of them, but it would serve to display at least a few of the books Urianger would work with.
"I can't say it wasn't a challenge, but with Cemi's dedicated research, we were able to adapt it from a different design." Beatin smiled at the Miqo'te girl, who beamed back in pride.
"And the craftsmanship of it all..." Rowan started running her fingers over the delicate inlays. "I didn't expect it would go outside of the star charts."
"Aye, well, twas hard to refuse those who wanted to contribute. I had to set up a competition of sorts lest there be multiple styles clashing everywhere," the Timbermaster said.
Rowan nodded absently as she traced the intricate designs. There were bits of gold leaf, clear gems, and red garnets inlaid throughout the three pieces, all following a celestial theme that she requested.
"I take it that it's to your satisfaction?" Beatin asked.
"Oh, aye, it is indeed!" Rowan looked up and smiled. "Are there any extra charges I need to worry about?"
"Nay, we fell within the generous budget you gave."
She nodded, and tried to dig out her gil pouch when she heard the front door open. "Oh, I think Urianger's home early."
"We can get the account settled at the guild tomorrow. Congratulations on the wedding."
Rowan nodded and escorted Beatin and Cemi out of the house, the party briefly passing Urianger in the kitchen.
"Welcome home!" Rowan gave him a quick peck on the cheek once the guildmembers were out of the house.
He drew her in close and kissed her hair. "Tis a blessing to be home."
She basked in the warmth and comfort of being in Urianger's arms for a minute before trying aught else. It was the reason she just gave him a peck on the cheek rather than embracing him in the first place. Not that she minded.
"Was that the Timbermaster again? Didst thou have more shelves installed in my absence?" Urianger asked when the thought occurred to him to ask.
"Not shelves... Mayhap we should start our gift exchange now." Rowan took his hand and lead him to her old room.
She stopped him as he reached for the door. She was almost bouncing with excitement as she cleared her throat.
"May I present to you... your study." Rowan dramatically swung the door open, revealing the desk set inside.
Urianger turned to her, turned to the room, then turned back to her.
"It's all for you." Rowan kissed his dumbfounded cheek.
He took a few slow steps, as if wary that the whole thing would disappear like a glamoured object once touched. But once he grabbed the chair and felt it's stability, he slumped into it. Then he noticed the star chart on the desk and turned it.
"Tis accurate," was all that was able to come out of his mouth as he continued to turn it.
"Well of course, darling, why wouldn't it be..." She stopped when he sniffed. "Are you crying?"
"I - I know not why I am so overcome. Pray forgive my weakness..."
Rowan took him by the shoulders and held him tightly. "There isn't aught to be forgiven for. It's just unexpected."
He pressed his cheek against hers. "Mayhap the idea of being invited to share thy childhood home with thee hath stirred emotions I never knew were held within me. That thou wishest to share in the joys and tribulations of life with me... I thought I had grasped that concept fully, but mayhap I failed to do so..."
"Well, I do want you in my life. Welcome to the family, Urianger."

@swerte asked : ❤️ + any of the scions in particular?  ( send a ❤️ + name to hear if my muse would date them // accepting ).
Tumblr media
amaya has two verses in which they date scions ! one being with @decaeys thancred. the two of them making their relationship needlessly complicated by insisting they are not dating, but everyone knows they are ( at this point, chances are the scions will marry them to each other & the two of them still obliviously say ‘what? us? no!’ . I would usually say that amaya wouldn’t consider dating thancred but remi’s thancred just, stubbornly wormed his way into their heart & now he is stuck with this wreck of a wol ( but it’s okay ‘cause they are basically wrecks together & it works ). also a cute fact about those two : definitely embarrassing parents to ryne just ‘guys stop hand holding for just a second !!’
the other verse would be with @jinxe y’shtola. no matter the verse, amaya usually develops a soft crush on shtola ( & who can blame them, really. have you met shtola?! ), it’s just that in this verse, amaya has the courage to act on their feelings & ask her out - & it works out. there are a few hiccups along the road but by now they live together in amaya’s cottage, spending time together & amaya simply shrugs & goes along with whatever their beloved witch wants to do... even if it means exploring the thirteenth shard.
as for the other scions, it be incredibly hard & I would need sb to plot that out with. for their ‘canon’, it be a no tho.
minfilia was like a sister to amaya, the one to give them courage to be more open with who they are. urianger is one of their best friend, though it is a slow building friendship ( on amaya’s side, they are intimidated by just how smart he is, not his fault tho ! ).
raha especially is complicated because he’d be a ‘maybe’ during ARR but when they meet again in shb amaya is so absorbed in their anger & grief they honestly take the exarch by his word & think raha is dead too which only adds to their grief... & then after the reveal they are furious with him. mostly because amaya had planned to travel to the bottom of the sea, kill the exarch to free the scions & then transform there & they are hurt & angry that raha would ever put them in a position where they even consider hurting someone they see as a friend. I do think their friendship mends over the patches & then ew but yeah, that is an obstacle that is simply there.

What is the wedding like? Who attends? - For kali ffxiv
I've thought about this every now and then, and I honestly believe that if Kali and Thancred were ever to actually get married, it would probably be an ambush by their friends.
I could absolutely see the two of them being willing to just continue to keep the status quo, but some of their closest friends among the Scions and other sources deciding that no, they really did need to get married.
G'raha or Alisaie or one of the other Scions lures Kali to the venue with a promise of excitement; Jacke or Urianger or one of Thancred's friends spins a tale of someone needing help. They both show up, dressed in their best adventuring gear, only to find the Elder Seedseer waiting to perform the Eternal Bond ceremony, with far too many of the lives they've both touched looking on.
It wouldn't be a small ceremony, but it would definitely be intimate; no one in attendance but those who can genuinely say 'I'm his/her/their friend'.
To be honest, I've only rarely considered what would happen if they get married. I'm still figuring out exactly when/how they fall in love. XD
Thank you @kaerwyn-silvermoon for the ask! That was an interesting mental exercise.
