experience in RP — I started rping through emails in middle school, then through Yahoo Messenger... I started on Tumblr in my last year of high school, so I've been on this site specifically for over ten years.
best experiences — just, meeting a bunch of really cool people who are as excited to get to know my take on the characters as I am excited to get to know their takes on the characters. I wouldn't have stayed on this site without them.
pet peeves / dealbreakers — demonizing other characters to add extra angst points (like, making an antagonist a ra.pist when nothing would have suggested that in canon), forcing your own interpretation of my characters on me. Assuming things about my characters can also be quite annoying lol
muse preference ( fluff, angst, smut ) — I definitely like angst and fluff both, but I don't write smut on this blog at all. Vanitas is definitely a pretty dark character and I'm willing to go into dark topics with him, but I usually prefer to keep to the vibes of the series itself. Vanitas will be Kingdom Hearts Dark, not The Evil Within Dark, okay?
plot or memes — both! I will admit that people I've plotted with already will have an easier time getting things started with me through memes, but that's definitely no reason not to try! I always get happy seeing new people in my inbox.
long or short replies — I have trouble with this question because I feel like everyone has a different definition of what a long or short reply is. I'm definitely writing longer replies than I have before, but... idk, do YOU guys think my replies are long? I just try to go with the vibe of what my partner is doing.
best time to write — My days off on Monday night and Tuesday night are when I get the most done, but I also sometimes write at work. It all depends on my mood and how busy I am, tbh.

I need advice
There is a rper in my fandom who writes with and is respected by a lot of my mutuals. I used to write with them, but was put off by their interpretation. It was very aggressive and very much 'I hate all these other canon muses my canon muse is the best and deserved to be in the spotlight more'. Writing with them very much feels like I constantly have to capitulate to their stances and humble my muse for them.
One day I saw them making posts one after the other shitting on my character in canon, as well as other characters that are favorite characters of mine, and I softblocked them.
Several months later they follow me again, and keep liking my posts, commenting on my stuff, and sending me memes. I ignored all of them. But they keep doing it. They also comment on my ooc interactions with my mutuals (who are also their mutuals).
I do not know what to do about this. Should I softblock again? Hard block? Or speak with them about it (if so what do I even say).
Normally I would just hardblock, but in the past I have seen them make vagueposts to the effect of "they don't write with me BECAUSE THEY ARE SENSITIVE AND CANT HANDLE MY TAKE". Since we share so many mutuals, I don't doubt for a second they would tell anyone who was curious enough to ask who they are talking about.
I know my blog is more popular than them and it wouldn't lose me followers per se, but that's also why I feel scared to do anything that would set them off. Because suppose they do badmouth me to someone, it might turn my followers against them and I don't want that either.
Maybe I am overthinking it.... what do you think I should do?
Seeing anyone badmouth other muns' versions of a canon character (vaguely or otherwise) would be a surefire way to earn a softblock from me at the very least - although if they're that vocal about things like that, I'm not sure I would've followed them in the first place.
I get that you don't want to start anything and I definitely empathize with that. Confrontation isn't ever fun. Because I tend to be passive about things, I think what I might do is retroactively alter my guidelines to say something to the effect of, 'While I appreciate everyone's right to have their own takes on the character I write as and the other characters in the show, if you excessively trash talk them, then I'd prefer we don't write together" or something along those lines. Then I'd make a post about altering my rules, and I'd probably go ahead and blacklist the person in question. If blacklist isn't effective enough, I'd consider more extreme measures from there.
And really - if you do decide to hard block them - if they bad mouth you and it backfires, then that's on them, not on you. Their decisions are their own. That's like blaming yourself if someone throws something at you, it misses, and bounces back to hit them instead.
Can any of our followers offer/suggest other solutions to the Anon's problem?

Nice. Thank you. Thank you so much. Lets out me and the people who I stalk. :D
I am someone who doesn't read threads which I'm not a part of unless they catch my attention, that's why I don't really have ships I'm passionate about that don't include my muses.
But I have noticed one quite unique ship and one intriguing interaction/pairing. The first one is @architaciturn's Astarion and Gortash - a ship I would never even imagine coming up with, so, naturally, when I first saw it on my dash I was like the 'huh' cat. I don't know how I feel about it yet, but I want to see how it came to life and how they interact, that's why I tend to read their threads or meme replies whenever I notice them on my dash. Overall I'm positively interested.
The second one is the same Astarion and @loyalborn's Haarlep. Saw either a starter or a meme reply (I don't remember which one was it) where Haarlep like a cat pushed a vase off a table and Astarion was close to doing the same (I'm pretty sure it was mentioned in the tags, but not in the reply). I had a good chuckle and thought this pairing could have amazing interactions, so I'm following that one too.
And, actually, there are two muses on my dash that I'd love to see interacting, it's an OC and a canon muse, but I don't think those muns follow each other. But the OC's background is somewhat tied to the canon's background and I think the interactions could be pretty good and entertaining.

How far do you go with divergencies when it comes to your canon muse(s)?
Mmmm, I try to not go too far away from canon with those muses. I will change some things if it doesn't change the character too much (like sexuality. Spencer never says he's only straight so I have him as Bisexual), and little things about their story, especially if I'm making an Au for that canon character. But it honestly all just depends.

These rules are a constant WIP and I may modify or change them at any time
This rp blog is selective and private, 18+. This means I only interact with mutuals and may be a bit picky about who I’ll follow so I don’t get overwhelmed. I do not rp with anyone under the age of 18, 21+ is preferred. Mun is 30+ and goes by Lumen. I'm MST but work nights so it will probably end up looking like I never ever sleep :)
Askbox is always open, we don’t have to be mutuals for me to answer asks. Right now anon is allowed, but I reserve the right to disable that if needed.
General RP etiquette applies. I allow minor godmoding to progress the plot (eg you can assume if you hand my character something he takes it. or not, whichever. you get what I mean)
In character actions have in character consequences.
I don’t match length or expect length to be matched. Generally I am a para to multi-para writer, reserving one-liners for spur of the moment crack threads. I only ask that you don’t give me one-liners in response to para+ threads. My reply length tends to change based on what's happing in the thread organically. Sometimes I use special formatting, small text and icons, based on my mood and if I remember to do so.
If I write you multiple starters and they go unanswered, or we have threads that don't get further than a couple replies and this happens frequently, I will likely assume you don't actually want to rp and will soft or hard block.
I prefer plotting over winging it, at least for initial interactions. Once we've interacted some then I'm more comfortable winging it.
Feel free to turn asks into threads. If possible, please make a new post when doing so. If not, I'll do so when I reply.
Mun doesn’t equal muse. Fiction is fiction. Alastor is a bad person and I'm not going to sanitize him, and I tend to enjoy exploring darker themes. Depicting a thing is not the same as romanticizing it.
I don’t have any squicks worth mentioning, and I don’t need anything tagged. Generally I only tag by request. I don't tag canon-typical things like violence, cannibalism, gore. NSFW, if it comes up, will be tagged NSFT and placed under a cut.
Dead dove content will be on this blog, most likely untagged I have no problem writing questionable subjects but I do my best to stay within my partner's comfort zone for individual threads. Policing gets you blocked. If you follow me and your rules say you're not comfortable interacting with someone who writes content I am comfortable writing with no caveats, I may reach out and/or hardblock for both our sakes.
Please hardblock me if you don't want to interact. I'll probably think it was a tumblr glitch or forget and accidentally refollow if you only softblock. No fuss, no mess, just hardblock for any reason at any time. If you softblock, I may hardblock so I don't accidentally refollow.
Ship friendly but Alastor is aroace. That is not to say that ships cannot happen, but there'd need to be plotting and discussion as to what it'd look like. Check the About page to see some headcanons regarding shipping with him. The blog itself is NSFW friendly, though Alastor will likely not react favorably to any overtures out of the blue.
Duplicate and OC friendly. Sort of crossover friendly? I likely won't be taking him out of the Hazbin universe since it feels weird having him without his radios and overlord status or putting him in another fandom and going 'yes, he is this powerful dealmaker and radio man that everyone has definitely heard about including your muse!'
At this time I don't do exclusives, but I do accept mains, which only means that I tend to reply to them more frequently/first. I only do this if we vibe really well both IC and OOC and have been writing a bit.
I don't often post memes or starter calls but that doesn't mean I don't want to interact! If I follow, I wanna RP. Easiest way to get something going is just DM me or send a random ask.
I have a tendency to randomly drop threads without warning, especially if we have multiple. Sometimes I'll forget or lose track of them - if it's been a week please feel free to nudge me!

Please feel free to reblog ANY of my posts. Especially the story posts if you like them. I love to see people enjoying and having fun with what I write, and the way I see it you guys reblogging a story post just means more people get to enjoy it.
1: Feel free to send in either hindrances or boons to effect the story. While I won't let others write my characters, I'm happy to let others suggest obstacles for a character to overcome. So if you want to see the characters face a particular hardship then send it in.
2: I'm not doing long term RPs on here, but I'll happily do one off questions and have ongoing relationships with other blogs.
3: I'm fairly open to just about anything for asks, including cucking, cheating, non-con, but understand that if I draw a line and say no, then that's final.
4: I will NOT do gore, scat, piss, diaper, or allow others to outright control my characters.

Interaction PSA: On Verses & Verse Building!
-- Info pertaining to verses, AUs, verse-buildings, crossovers, etc. This series of PSAs is meant to accompany & further elaborate on some things in my updated rules. I link to them throughout not as required guidelines, but what I hope are helpful snippets for those looking for the best means of interacting! --
♥ I love verses. I love verse-building. I love AUs. That's it, y'all. That's the post. (I"m technically kidding, but it could be.) I love playing in other peoples' verses, I love people jumping into my verses, I love building a verse with a mun whether it's based on a series of canon-divergent what-ifs or taking our muses and throwing them into the setting or situations of another fandom we both enjoy... you name it.
♥ I am happy to write all the threads, in all the verses, all the time. I like having multiple things going on. I have verses that are spin-offs of other verses that only explore a minor deviation in the original premise of the verse. When I say I want to explore our muses in every possible scenario, I mean it - so if you're ever torn on options for a meme, or you've got a "well... we could do this, but we could also do this," situation, there is a high probability I'm just going to send you the "both is good" meme and ask what we're calling both of them.
Seriously. I have enough threads in enough verses going on with @climatact that I had to put together a thread directory. And I love every single one of them.
♥ Exploring canon-divergent "what if" scenarios is my favorite. Off the top of my head, some of the verses I've helped create or been a part of have been based around questions like these (shoutout to those reading their questions or ones we've discussed here, y'all know who you are):
• what if robin had found her way to the north & joined the donquixote family after aokiji sent her on her way from ohara?
• what if bellemere had lived, nami had followed in her footsteps to become a marine, law & corazon had had more time together, and their search for a cure had taken them as far as the east?
• what if law had stayed with the donquixote family (willingly or not?)
tl:dr; i love them. ask them. let's build verses from them!

4. which muse of yours is your all time favorite? if you stopped writing them: why?
Truth be told, probably my muse that's been my all time Favorite to play has been Loly.
I never actually particularly liked her as a character. And in fact she is the type of Muse I HATE rping WITH the most. NAmely, just a rotten bitch. Frankly when it comes to rp communities, I avoid these types of characters because thats what people tend to focus on when playing them. And trying to form meaningful bonds with such characters can be like trying to herd a cat through a straw.
Thus why I wanted to play one myself. To see if I could manage to play such an unlikeable bitch but still make them fun for people to approach. I like to at least THINK I've accomplished that. While Loly is most assuredly a horrind hag of a woman, she still is someone you can interact with. This initially posed an issue with uh, Orihimes. But I eventually managed to get around that by having her try and knive a sortof indirect form of bullying. So she WILL pretend cooperative and positive action with an Orihime, just with ulterior motives.
Plus I very much enjoy getting to rp a piece of shit. Loly's awful, and she's also just flat out wrong. She has REASONS for behaving the way that she does, but she also actively resists things that would make her a better person, and latches onto anything that validates her existing behavior. BUT. She still changes and evolves as a person. Not in a GOOD way mind you. She essentially just figures out new and more personal ways to fuck with people. But its still development. And of course, theres also the hall of fame of people who have ACTUALLY managed to garner a positive relationship with her. Which has been incredibly rewarding.
12. what roleplay trends do you remember from the year you started tumblr rp? how did you feel about those trends?
That would beeeee, around February 2014.
Midway into the TYBW arc in fact! Back then, there was a lot of fractioning of peoples little rp communities. Back then there were also a lot more closed groups. BAsically people would have Affiliated blogs, no dupes, peeps all would play with eachother basically as their own little version of the Bleach storyline. Never was in one, so have no idea what that was like tbh.
BUT, the community seems a little more interwoven? About as interwoven as you CAN be on Tumblr. There was a lot of Arrancar blogs back then, and a lot of Quincy blogs coming out in the midst of the TYBW chapters coming out. Lots of people were excited about interacting with eachother. But it was also pretty segregated.
Arrancar, Shinigami, Quincy. They tended to stick within their own groups, so esseentially they had their own separate rp communities with little bits of interaction between them now and then. One of the unfortunate parts about Bleach as a setting is that divides are kinda built into the races. Each sect by their nature will clash with eachother, and so its hard for people to mingle in a broader sense. And well. Aint nobody had any kinda drive to try and push a narrative of that changing. People were, and are, pretty attached to canon.
Even so? I kinda miss the diversity. Having come back and seeing how the dust has settled, most blogs are humans or shinigami, at least insofar as single muse blogs. But even Multis don't seem to crack out their quincy or arrancar quite as often. Which is a shame, but frankly I understand it. The community has also shrunk over the years, and so its only natural would pick cohesive muses to maintain activity.

This is no space for OOC drama, IRL political discourse, people who can't differentiate fiction from reality and think it's okay to police adults on what to write on their blogs (go touch some grass). Hard-block. I will also opt for blocking instead of soft-blocking if our rules clash, if you have numerous triggers / DNIs, or to avoid misunderstandings. In most cases, it's nothing against you personally.
Yeah, so. This is a 25+ blog, run by a 25+ mun, and there will be adult content, including but not limited to: violence, abuse, gore, monsters, gaslighting, manipulation, canon-typical fantasy racism and overall offensive / problematic themes. Triggers won't always be tagged. If you're triggered by any of these, this blog isn't for you.
Communication is key!! You'd like to share an idea? Go right ahead. Don't like where the plot is going? Let me know. You want to scream about our muses? YES. Writing is so much more fun if the muns get along. I promise, I don't bite.
II. INTERACTION
I'm selective and mutuals only. If I don't follow back, it's likely because you're not a BG3 / D&D related blog, I already have a lot of threads, too much formatting, or I feel our muses / writing styles don't mesh. Additionally, if your rules mention steering clear of the topics / triggers mentioned above, I won't follow. We don't have to write anything that makes you uncomfortable (!!!exclamation mark!!111!), but they might come up.
If I follow you, I want to interact! Don't be shy <3 I will also assume that if you follow me back, you're fine with me sending you memes / tagging you in starters / sliding into your IMs to plot.
MEMES. I'm a feral meme goblin. Please don't ever feel obligated to answer the 517 memes I've sent you (or any at all), and in return, feel free to bombard my inbox. Even if we already have 3,670 threads. Idc fam, send me more. We haven't interacted yet? Meme. I haven't answered your meme yet? My muse probably didn't vibe with it, send another. Send memes. I may not respond to all of them and not every meme will spark a new thread, but... send memes. If you want to turn a meme into a thread, DO IT. No need to ask.
I prefer to keep it simple when it comes to formatting. It looks cool, but reading paragraph after paragraph of double spaced text hurts my eyes.
I'm a big fan of making my muses suffer :D I love angst and exploring dark, gritty plots. If you have any triggers, let me know before jumping into a RP with me, aka the angst queen, so we're all on the same page.
My ADHD often influences my activity. Sometimes I'll reply super fast, sometimes it takes me ages, and sometimes I can only focus on specific threads / muses.
