compte-rendu de visite d’artiste.

selon moi, l’oeuvre de sara hébert est très engagée, dans les thèmes abordés. il est intéressant de l’entendre parler ce qui lui tient à coeur, surtout le féminisme, entre autres. ses collages et oeuvres gravitent beaucoup autour de ça, et par l’utilisation de femmes (majoritairement) découpées, qui montrent une fatigue ou un dégoût pour les hommes ou pour leur vie, on comprend que son oeuvre prend un sens aussi politique. utiliser son art pour servir de telles causes est bien noble, selon moi, et je trouve inspirant et ludique qu’elle passe par le collage, ou l’on peut voir un entremêlement d’éléments différents, qui s’assemblent pour former un tout et passer le message voulu. je suis allée jeter un coup d’oeil à sa page instagram, ou elle poste aussi ses creations, et je trouve cela presque magique de les voir toutes à cote des autres. son oeuvre dans son intégralité me donne cette sensation de vieux, en quelques sortes, j’imagine que c’est à cause de l’effect graineux qu’elle utilise, mais je l’aime beaucoup. c’est un effet qui rajoute à son esthétique et qui permet de rentrer encore plus dans son univers, qui est comme un magazine ou publication des années 60-70. voir cela en 2023 est quelque chose, quand même. je trouve en effet que ça l’avantage, puisque l’on se rappelle des idéaux de l’époque, surtout ceux qui concernaient les femmes, qui se devaient d’être dociles et satisfaisantes, et une lumière s’allume dans notre tête: c’était bel et bien comme ca dans le temps… mais à quel point est-ce que la société a changé, entre temps? de plus, je trouve que l’oeuvre prend un sens différent, pas seulement pour elle, mais aussi pour le public, lorsqu’on sait qu’elle s’inspire de sa vie ainsi que de celle de ses proches. cela nous permet de se rapprocher de son univers encore plus, dans un certain sens. on arrive a bien saisir ses insécurités ainsi que ce qu’elle veut faire comprendre a la société. le fait que son style soit très reconnaissable malgré sa certaine versatilité (certaines oeuvres en noir et blanc, d’autres en couleur, des arrières-plan vs pas d’arrière-plan) est une chose que j’admire vraiment chez elle, car trouver un style qui nous est propre en tant qu’artiste est un réel accomplissement. si je voyais ses oeuvres dans une librairie ou accrochées quelque part, je penserais à elle instantanément, c’est certain.
