music review: It's cignature's Little Aurora time!
The wait is over!
A little over a year since their last comeback, cignature finally returns with their 3rd EP album [My Little Aurora].
The title track 'Aurora' will surely heat up your winter with cignature's bright and bubbly energy right from the intro. The melody is quite addictive and adequate enough to make you hum along even when it is your first time listening to it. The excitement, the heart fluttering feeling to experience the magical Aurora-like love is well depicted through the lyrics. The music video also complements the song with a vibrant background and outfit.
[My Little Aurora] is an album filled with cignature's beautiful voices and sweet charms.

"오로라 돈까스, 클러스터 카페, 석촌동 고분, 알라딘 헌책방"
2024년 4월 10일, 수요일. 4년에 한 번 돌아오는 휴일이다.
잠실 석촌 호수 근처에 '오로라 경양식'이라는 옛날 돈까스 집이 있다길래 궁금해 가 봄. 1970년대 소공동에 처음 개업한 '멕시코'가 시초라는데, 상호를 바꿔가며 여러 곳을 전전하다 이 동네까지 온 모양이다.
내부는 LP판이나 옛날 딱지 등을 구해 걸어 놓는 등 의도적인 복고풍으로 꾸며놨다.
오뚜기 스프, 양배추에 이어 돈까스가 나옴. 칼로 썰어 단면을 보니 좀 부실해 보였다. 즉 가성비는 별로. 하지만 소스에서 잊고 있던 옛 맛이 나기는 했다.
식당을 나와 동네를 어슬렁거리다 '클러스터'라는 카페를 감. IT 업계 종사자로서 꽤 친근한 이름이라 일부러 가본 것. 검은색으로 도배한 실내에 칠아웃, 앰비언트류 음악이 계속 흘러나왔다. '개폼 많이 잡았구나'란 생각이 들었다. 커피 맛은 특별한 개성을 못 느꼈다.
카페 바로 옆에 석촌동 고분이 있었다. 여길 또 언제 와보나 싶어 한 바퀴 돌았다. 계단식으로 돌을 쌓아 올린 무덤은 근초고왕일 거로 추정한다는 안내문이 있었다.
집에 가기 위해 잠실역을 향해 걷다가 교보 문고. 기왕 온 김에 알라딘 헌책방도 들렀다가 책 2권을 충동구매. 우선 꽤 재밌게 읽은 재즈 역사 만화책 '재즈잇업'을 1권만 갖고 있는데 3권이 있길래 삼.
'모던 팝 스토리'는 1950년대 롹앤롤 태동기부터 현대까지 대중음악 역사를 다룬 것으로 분량이 800쪽으로 약간 두툼하지만 음악 덕후로서 지나칠 수 없는.

all about aurora!
Her name is aurora adeline choi (오로라 애들린 최), born on July 20, 2003 in Florence, Italy. She lived there for a good 9 years before moving to seoul, south korea with her older brother who's 4 years older than her and her parents.
Her parents are both medical professionals, her mother being physician while her dad is a doctor. Meanwhile her brother is currently studying on college to become an architect.
She is a very quiet and delicate person based from her brother's interview about her and their life. Aurora tends to always busy herself from learning ballet or either helping her grandmother cook and clean the house. And if she gets extra time, she would spend all that remaining time on reading books since she tends to have a very imaginative mind. Her favorites are sci-fi and fantasy.
Through her life in Italy, Aurora was a ballerina student ever since sher was 3. And was actually able to perform on theaters when she's finally in south korea. One of her favorite role she once played was Giselle for Adam. When she moved country, Aurora stopped ballet and went to learning hip-hop and kpop dance choreography by joining dance classes on weekends.
When she turned 14, getting scouted from YG was the best gift for her apart from her getting a dog from her brother. She was on her way to her dance class when she saw her teacher talking to a 'stranger' who is actually scouting agent from yg who happens to be looking for talented dancers, and her teacher happens to introduce her, aurora, one of the best dancers in the class.
With that she was offered to audition for the company and her parents were delighted except her brother who doesn't want her to be away just because of a training. But Aurora reassured him that she will visit home twice a month which she and the company deals without any other knowing.
After years training, and there was no hope of debuting in group even when she was yg's ace and all rounder but still no sign of gg debuting and the company isn't moving. Aurora had decided to leave the company after getting an offer from Hybe which she accepted thinking this will be her chance on debuting.
She was given the chance though it's nothing normal.
She debuted in a group with a whole bunch of 7 tall males. But before that, she has to compete in a survival show with not just 7 but 24 other males whom she barely know and close with (although thankfully she got close with 4 other participants in the show).

근 한달간의 물욕의 결과물들이 속속 도착하고 있다(1).
10년전 쯤 세일러에서 미니 만년필을 하나 샀었다. 그때는 손으로 일기를 쓸 생각이었다. 사고나서 2,3년 잘 썼다. 그러다 어느 순간 서랍 한 구석에 쳐밖혀 있게 되었다.
그러다 1년전 쯤 다시 만년필이 생각나서 다시 꺼내 써봤는데 한번 세척하고 새 카트리지 꽂아주었더니 무리없이 잘 나온다. 하지만 미니 만년필이라 카트리지만 사용 가능한데, 사실 만년필 놀이라는게 절반은 잉크를 이것저것 쓰는 것인데 그걸 편하게 하질 못하니 불만이었다. 게다가 어느날 우연히 한준희가 초등학교 들어가면서 사 스테들러 점보 삼각연필을 써보고 난 후 난 두꺼운 펜이 더 편하다는 걸 글씨를 쓸 수 있게 된지 40년이 지나서야 새롭게 알게 되었다.
이런저런 핑계가 겹쳐서 새로운 만년필을 하나 사기로 결심했다. 사실 사고 싶은건 오로라 옵티마인데 할인해서 50만원 돈이다. 그래도 그동안 철이 들었는지 잘 쓰지도 않는 펜하나에 50을 태우는 건 정신나간 짓이라고 생각했다. 그러다 우연히 홍디안이라는 3만원짜리 중국산 만년필의 존재를 알게 되었고, 뭐 이정도라면 하는 마음으로 사봤는데 그냥저냥 싸보이지 않고(사실 꽤 이쁘다), 잉크도 잘 나오니 별 불만 없다. 소위 말하는 필감이라는게 좀 멍청하긴 하지만 말이다.
새 만년필을 주문하는 김에 IWI에서 나오는 <小雪>이라는 잉크도 하나 샀다. 보라색과 갈색 사이에 있는 딱 고구마 껍질 색깔이다. 좀 흐리멍텅하긴 하지만 뭐 재미삼아 쓰는 물건이니 이것도 그냥저냥 맘에는 든다. 좀 써보다 다른 잉크도 들여봐야 겠다. 사실 자신의 취향이 뭔지를 알고 싶다면, 처음부터 3가지 정도의 옵션을 한번에 사들여야 물욕도 진정되고, 취향도 더 빨리 파악된다. 비교 대상이 없다면 뭐가 더 좋은지 알 수 없어서 계속 뭔가 더 나아보이는 대안을 찾기 마련이니까.
아무튼 소소한 돈으로 이만하면 꽤 나쁘지 않은 소비를 했다고 생각하지만, 문제는 책상 한구석에 원목 트레이를 놓고 그 위에 새로 장만한 초록색 만년필과, 폴로 그린 같은 초록색 향수병 하나와 진한 초록색 카드지갑을 올려 놓으면 행복할 것 같다는 생각이 들었다. 역시 소유는 또 다른 물욕을 불러 일으키기 십상이다.
책상이나 치우고 살자.
