The fifth sketch of the day with gouache in fauvist style. Panorama, Night scene, urban sketching, stilllife and finally a portrait figure, I've covered all grounds. Gouache using a large brush is very easy to do quick sketches. I'm planning on taking full advantage of this speed for direct painting which I do quite a bit. It surely is fun and light-hearted to paint in fauvist style. I can be loose, relaxed and I don't care about details ... So I started exploring subject matters that I couldn't easily tackle in the past like night scenes. Following Gary's comments of not following exact reality, and emphasizing on strong features, two very fauvist attributes, I'm really having a great time cranking out these paintings. Hashizoji Temple is also the inner temple of Konpira-san. You can also climb it by ropeway.

金毘羅さんの奥の院でもあります箸蔵寺です。ロープウェイで登ることもできます。途中の山門まで車でもいけます。
