do you think jeno's desire to do kinky stuff on stage partly stems from the fact that they were forced to wear chewing gum like clothes since debut? 😭 and when they're finally legal, he was like "time to shineeeee" 💥 akin to how rebellious souls graduated from strict/religious households gjdksk

you know, I don’t think that deep about it😭 I kinda have a weird parasocial relationship with ideals like my boundaries about assuming anything about their personalities/emotions etc is very restricted? I feel invasive if I allow myself to start wondering about why they do what they do? I guess. I was discussing this with my friend today, how it’s funny to see anyone say “he’s the greenest flag ever.’ when….kpop is about selling a fantasy to your fans, being their dream…..we all have different dreams and idol’s personalities are really just what we want them to be, not what you *think* they are bc you *know* them, you know?😅

BUT speaking from history: disney child stars etc its always the same: sexual repression and being forced to carry on a child-like innocence well into your teens and adulthood makes you go full force into the opposite. has happened with many many many singers/actors etc. its easy to forget sometimes that Dream have been trainees since childhood/debuted as minors, they were child stars which now in 2023 is something the western side of the kpop fandom finds abominable and illegal….its child labor at the end of the day and really Jeno’s been in the lime light since extremely young as a toddler in commercials and catalogue(which….if you think about it, was absolutely not his choice so who is to say if being a kpop idol is his choice either since he was like a middle schooler when SM signed him). also like… I always hated the Chewing Gum/MFAL music videos because something about them…. especially MFAL. while it can be seen as cute and innocent, having a crush on your teacher its an odd concept for a bunch of underage boys :/ idk, great song tho cjsjsjsjd

I can only speak from my own experience growing up how I always thought sex/being sexy/sexuality etc was so taboo because religion etc and my time of self-discovery with age definitely propelled me a lot faster into all of it out of curiosity and feeling of missing out on it when I was younger? I think thats just….human nature.

Fan Favorite Moments : Jeno and Hannah

Good Luck Tradition

It’s common knowledge within the NCT fandom that Hannah is not exactly big on skinship and that Hannah and Jeno try not to baby each other in any way.

So when the fans found out about how Hannah kisses Jeno’s cheek and Jeno kisses Hannah’s forehead or temple before every performance they have, it was a riot. It was all because Renjun turned the camera towards them while vlogging before one of the Boom stages.

Neither Jeno nor Hannah know why they started doing this little tradition, but it just stuck after that one performance they had together as trainees for evaluation. Jeno would always try to make it to as many of Hannah’s performances as he could as well. Fans busted their uwus even more when these two had a vlive together and explained how they keep up the tradition when they aren’t physically together.

AND THAT’S WHEN EVERYONE FOUND OUT THEY HAD MATCHING RINGS ON THEIR PINKIES THAT THEY NEVER TOOK OFF AND KISS THAT INSTEAD AND SEND VIDEOS OF IT TO EACH OTHER WHEN THEY AREN’T PHYSICALLY TOGETHER I—

Anyway, that’s how this ship skyrocketed in popularity, and this was the trigger for fans to make compilations of these two acting like a married couple. SM also included some clips that show them doing this tradition into vlogs instead of deleting them all like they used to.

Lowkey Tsundere Jeno

Everyone knows the dynamics between NoNah is all about being on the same level. These two don’t always directly try to take care of each other, but they form a unit to take care of everyone else (sometimes even the older members)

But Jeno has his moments.

There are so many “jeno being a tsundere towards hannah for __ minutes” videos on youtube including various things like him opening her drinks for her without a word, casually draping a jacket on her, putting food on her plate when she isn’t looking and stuff like that.

A fan favorite is seeing Jeno somehow always ready the moment Hannah needs help adjusting herself or walking in her heels

Jeno doesn’t treat Hannah the way Donghyuck or Jaemin treat her, but he still likes showing he can take care of her despite their non-verbal agreement.

Rant Buddies

On the vlive that these two held together, fans notice how they bounced off of each other really well in the conversation and in giving advice. That’s when they revealed that they talk a lot and rant a lot to each other.

Of course, fans loved this. Jeno and Hannah have this sort of intimacy between them that is beyond the physical level, and everyone just lives for it.

Everyone knows how these two never show when they’re stressed and always wondered how they stayed calm. Needless to say, everyone was pleased to find out that these two have each other for that.

Fans actually spoke about this for so long on twitter to the point that management told them that they could go live one day like that if they wanted to (which they did one 3am in the middle of Boom promotions lmao Boom was NoNah era ngl)

Ridin’ Behind

The whole behind of ridin was a moment. Right from the first shots in their orange outfits with the car, Jeno helped Hannah down from the roof by keeping his hands on her waist and lifting her off then proceeding to liFT HER INTO A FIREMAN’S HOLD RIGHT AFTER SETTING HER BACK ON THE GROUND.

They had a little scuffle and lightly shoved each other to approach Mark first (which ended in Hannah physically throwing herself at Mark and hanging onto him like a koala)

Jeno had his arm behind her on the couch during break and was subconsciously playing with her hair.

All in all, Jeno and Hannah seemed a bit more touchy and giddy during the filming of the mv, and it was obvious in the vlog SM posted. (Especially after Haechan pointed it out)

The Ridin’ behind video is literally a jem to NoNah shippers

MFAL first win

This was a really small moment that almost went unnoticed, but it didn’t because of how long it went.

When they were announced the winner, she teared up a little because she was upset that Jaemin wasn’t there with them. Jeno noticed this and took her hand in his. He smiled at her, which she was thankful for. She dabbed at her eyes with her free hand and squeezed his hand back in thanks.

(He lowkey also knew she and Renjun were still kinda awkward and just made an excuse for her not to go confront the crying Renjun)

Basically, Jeno stayed next to her and held her hand the whole encore stage, which was a surprise to the fans since they would expect this from either Mark or Haechan and not Jeno.

Rumor has it, this was the beginning of NoNah as a ship fans like.

Bonus: Something the fans don’t know

They are each other’s first kiss. No, it wasn’t some accident that resulted from the good luck tradition. During one of their little early morning talks after turning into adults, they drank some soju. They talked about loneliness and how dating in their industry was basically taboo and were tipsy enough to try kissing each other to see the hype. They just burst into giggles after that and agreed to stick to platonic cheek/head kisses. No one knows but them (and Jaehyun, but that’s another story), and it’s a little inside joke they have.

I was really confused after watching the teaser, tbh... It feels like sm spent just a few hours (if not less) editing the mv. Ofc boys look nice and all that stuff but is sm even doing their job, sigh. I don't know what i was expecting, but totally not this cheap editing lol. Didn't you think anything about this?
