It was a chilly night with the occasional ringing of the local church echoing throughout the whole town. Time seemed to pass by so quickly; like it was only yesterday you came to this peaceful town. Before that, life has always been… rough with you— ever unforgiving. Tranquillity surrounds you like a warm embrace you’ve always longed for.
As you walk through these cobblestone pavements, a particular shine on the ground catches your eye. It was guided steps for waltzing for passersby to follow; a romantic scene in the middle of a solemn evening is like a gem found in the middle of icky tar. Seeing to pass time, you place a foot on the first one, giggling as you start following the steps with uncertainty which caught people’s attention.
Too immersed with the moment, one of your heels suddenly broke. “AH–!” You close your eyes, expecting a dull pain on your sides yet firm muscles are all that invade your sense of feeling. Eyes peek open, brown eyes peek back. “You’re… pretty,” you slip, raking over his dark skin that seemed to shine under moonlight. The stranger chuckles, steadying your figure before looking down on both of your feet. “Ah, yes… the waltz steps. You know it’s supposed to be danced with a partner, right?” he jokes, sneaking an arm around your waist and pulling you closer.
“May I have this dance, my lady?”
You giggle, placing your right hand on his chest and the other on his shoulder. “Yes, you may.” you respond with enthusiasm. As the night accompanies the both of you, love flows through the air. Your bodies dance in sync and harmony; two hearts beating. You don’t even notice how off you guys are with the guided steps. All that matters at that moment is you’re having fun after years of feeling like you’re stuck somewhere still and bleak.
You guys come to an end, yet you can’t find yourself to pull away. Your eyes gaze into his. It’s like he holds the entire galaxy in them. His skin on yours is like heaven materialized. “Um.. you’re a good dancer,” you awkwardly peeped out which got a laugh in return from him. God, could he be any more handsome? His laugh seemed to make birds sing and flowers bloom.
“Thank you, pretty. So, may this dancer have this lady’s name?”
“Only if you tell me yours.”
“Cheeky, huh?”
You only hum and smirk.
“Kyle. Kyle Garrick, but you can call me Gaz.”

I'm back!!!
I'm back!! I was literally in no spirits to write fanfics, but thinking about picking it back up again.
Really have been in a Honkai Star Rail brain rot lately (mostly about xianzhou men ^^), and many ideas just popped into my brain. my head.. so full of themis thoughts...
indulge me for a second and imagine modern au!themis with me......
i paused seeing this ask oh my GOD esther !!! modern au!themis wwhwbwhwbwhbhbwhbajbjge he makes my mind go Haywire. themis. themis. him taking you to a fancy dinner in a suit and taking his hand in yours. lil sweet texts from themis (i feel like he'd be the kind to always say gm and gn tbh or maybe i just want him to LMAO). going to a bookstore and kind of finding each other between the shelves and all. reading together quietly in a library. watching a movie and he can't help but stare at you for a bit instead. early mornings in bed. themis would look so good in modern clothes too oh my GOD. dancing to music in the night, late night adventures out. it's nice walking with him, hand holding yours or around your waist! or yk. driving. heheh. listening to music with one earbud each, themis laying a head on your shoulder. i feel like yeah modern au but themis would like to send little letters! and also leave little notes in the morning. he's so sweet and cute djbdjdhsksnksd. getting back from an errand or school or work and him melting in your arms immediately. or the utter delight in the smile on his face as he rushes to welcome you back home. morning routines together (him being a lil mischievous, too). walking around together and the whole time he has a smile on his face as he holds your hands because he's just happy to be with you. him noticing something you're eyeing, and so he gets it for you! cheeky smile and puppy eyes, you can't say no at all. also likes winning prizes for you so true. wearing his hoodie fjsvsjbsdn. yeah. modern au!themis. also i think dressing him up would he really cool bcs he'd look good in anything tbh. he's the prettiest ever
