I totally get the temptation to power through a dog's health or behavioural issues just to finish a title but consider... not doing that...
#soooo many variations in the last couple days#'he hates the sport so much but he needs one more Q to finish his masters title'#'she's ten and getting sore so i want to put a champion title on her as fast as possible'#'yeah the venue makes him anxious but we spent so much on training i want to finish his novice title'#😬😬😬😬😬#dont get me wrong I FUCKING GET IT#i have to retire my beautiful perfect dog in his prime from essentially everything he loves because hes broken in the spine#its heartbreaking and so tempting to just finish off that title#(for me it would be his CD and CDX - i so badly want to power through and finish his obedience titles)#(weve trained so much)#but is it fair? is it kind?#im a particular flavour of heartbreak over mavs upcoming end#and seeing this in my messages and in my facebook groups is just making me really bitter#(they arent from people im real life friends with - just people i know from dog shows and such)#“dogblr”#“dog training”#“dog sports”

En server is getting Glorious Masquerade and I am also hoping the be cool line is there—-we are also somehow getting the SSR Grim Platinum Jacket for Disneys 100th (which makes me hope they will add Grim to the alchemy lesson rotation because otherwise nobody will be able to unlock the groovy since there’s not stamp quests to get the little lollipop)
AH HECK I forgot Platinum Grim was also this month! dangit I need to reprioritize everything now. gotta save some keys for the boss in his snazzy little suit!
(I think pre-lab Grim you could just buy his candy for alchemy coins, and that's also what they're doing for Rollo, so that's probably what they'll do! someone correct me if I'm remembering wrong though)

Do your ocs have like bean paws? I don’t think they have them on their hands, but what about their feet? Sorry if it’s a bit weird!
They do have paw pads on their hands and feet! This is just a quick messy sketch but hopefully it sort of illustrates the look I personally go for with my anthros.
#in my head the texture of the pads corresponds human palms and soles#I just feel like it'd be very inconvenient if they were as hard and rough as some dogs have#grabbing stuff effectively would be very tricky not to mention any work that requires precision and delicate touch#dexterity and fine motor skills would suffer#my characters can be drawn with either plantigrade or digitigrade feet it varies by piece#but since it's very difficult to put shoes on the latter and I like to play dress up#my dogs usually sport the plantigrade form that is more compatible with human garments#Vaschete lore#answered#anonymous

i cannot stress enough that even if you intend to do sports with your dog, even if you intend to work your dog you should get a type of dog you can enjoy living with WITHOUT sports and/or work. Dogs cannot do sports/work forever. Sometimes they need a break from sports/work due to injury. That is just a reality and you are going to have to live with that sportless/workless dog (even if temporary).
#dogblr#dog opinions#look. i just think people get dogs to DO sports#rather than get dogs they enjoy and do sports because they enjoy said dog#my enjoyment of my breed's quirks (including negatives) does not falter if they are unworked#me: again getting on my 'teach sport dogs to live regular dog lives' pedestal#there's a balance yall#anyways my breeder posted videos of slash's mom and grandma at 11.5 and 13 respectively still looking amazing and having fun#just doing walkies and zoomies and stuff#old lady things#and there's just as much enjoyment in THAT as there is in that accomplishment of good work/good sport

Following in the other anon’s question about Fast Machete… Healthy Machete AU where he’s a 100m dash Olympic runner, and Vasco is an equestrian Olympian. (Had to look up which Olympics had the 100m dash and learned that equestrian is a sport in the summer Olympics). Or maybe archery?

#in optimal circumstances he could be fast but not olympic level fast#I think in dog olympics the overwhelming majority of sprinters would be greyhounds there's no way he'd be able to hold a candle for them#earlier I hypothesized that if he had to pick a sport he might be interested in fencing#but I doubt he'd be particularly good at that either#answered#anonymous
