Tears of the Kingdom spoilers (and lots of rambles) under the cut
When I started the Chain as Cryptids au, I didn’t really think I’d be able to work Tears of the Kingdom in, seeing how much I had changed Wild’s story. He’s a spirit with no memory of the Hylian he once was. He’s a force to be reckoned with but can be easily spooked- much like a wild animal. He avoids Flora like the plague since she’s his connection to the life he used to have. The life that isn’t his anymore.
But then… I had an idea. Flora would be desperate to find her Link again after discovering that he’s still alive (or… not really alive. Not quite a Poe but not quite a Hylian either). Regardless, after the events of Breath of the Wild, she’d start a search party and scour every corner of Hyrule to find him.
She never would. When spirits don’t want to be seen, they aren’t. But… this whole time, I imagined that Korok Forest acted as a sort of home base for Wild. Wild cannot speak verbally but can communicate telepathically with other spirits and spiritual beings. The Koroks and Blupees would be like siblings to him, the Deku Tree being like a parental figure since he basically started life over when he died. (Two Links raised by the Great Deku Tree. He and Time can bond over that later).
ANYWAY. Wild used the Master Sword for about half of the events of Breath of the Wild. But when it would need to recharge, he’d place it back in the pedestal in Korok Forest where it could become stronger under the watchful gaze of the Great Deku Tree. Then he’d be off, never staying in one place for too long, wandering the sandy shores of Necluda or the lava banks of Eldin.
This pattern would stay in place for years after the defeat of Calamity Ganon: Wild stopping at Korok Forest to reunite with his family and let the Master Sword heal and then disappearing into the wilds once more. And over the years, Flora’s search party would shrink until it was just her scouring the continent for her missing knight. Okay, yeah, maybe she’s a little desperate, but she can’t bear the thought of him alone out there. Not when he died because of her. Not when he’s all she has left.
And… when the Master Sword is recharging, that’s when Flora would finally take her search to Korok Forest. She finds the sacred blade but her knight is nowhere to be seen. The Deku Tree allows her to take it, urging her onward, warning her that eventually, she’ll have to use it. She heeds his wisdom, pulling the sword from her resting place and securing it on her back. Then she begins her search anew.
She doesn’t find him.
She trains with the Master Sword while she travels Hyrule. She starts to rebuild. She gets to know her people. And from the cover of countless trees and stone, a certain spirit watches her and his sword.
During her travels, Flora encounters a strange red-black mist that makes her people ill. They call it ‘gloom.’ And, what’s worse, it seems to pour out from under Hyrule Castle. The castle has laid untouched for years now, ever since the Calamity was sealed away and she set out on her search. But now, it would seem that she’s needed once more at the site of her greatest battle. The subject of her nightmares. The place where she los the last piece of her home.
Without her knight at her side, she makes her way to the forgotten foundation of her old life. She’s alone when she travels through the caverns, alone when she follows the melancholy most past murals and carvings that she itches to explore. Flora is alone when the Master Sword glows in warning. Alone when she battles monsters waiting for her in the depths.
The princess is all alone when she discovers a mysterious mummy being held in place by a single glowing arm. She watches as the appendage falls away, a stone falling to the rocky ground with an unassuming click. As she reaches to pick it up, the corpse reanimates. It stands tall, more alert and aware than any Gibdo she’s seen on her journey, and fixes her with a stare that she’d crumble under. She drops her torch and draws the Master Sword, holding the unfamiliar yet warm stone to her chest, and the mummy laughs at her.
It knows her name.
And it attacks.
Flora is alone when the gloom ravages her arm. She’s alone when the Master Sword is the first to crumble under that pressure. She’s alone when the very ground beneath her gives in to that same pressure.
She’s alone when she falls, pain lacing through her arm and golden light enveloping her.
But Flora is not alone when she wakes.
For the purposes of this au, Flora’s time in the past is going to be very similar to canon. She still meets Rauru and Sonia. Still meets Mineru and the Sages and Ganondorf. She still trains to control her secret stone. However, Rauru fixes her arm almost as soon as she arrives in this strange world. He doesn’t give her his, not like he does for Link in TOTK, since he needs it to seal Ganondorf away. But he and Mineru work together to combine construct parts and their own light and spirit magic to make her new muscles and machinery to aid in moving her own ruined arm.
The Imprisoning War is the same.
Sonia dies. Rauru sacrifices himself. And she still has no idea how to get home. How to heal the Master Sword and destroy Ganondorf in her own time. She still speaks with Mineru… and she comes to the same conclusion that she did in canon. This time, though, she’s taking much more of a risk. She can survive the centuries as a dragon, she can heal the sword. But she can’t be sure that her Link will be there to take it and finish things. She hasn’t even seen him in years.
… she doesn’t have a choice.
From Wild’s perspective, it happened in moments. He blinked and suddenly there were islands floating in his skies. Hyrule Castle floats ominously, red plumes of gloom branching out from underneath. Massive sinkholes give way to more of the poison, seeming to drop forever. His forests are ravaged once again, the climate in corners of the continent changing drastically.
And the princess he’d been following is gone.
While trying to get a grasp of what changed so suddenly, he figures out a way up to the Sky Islands. And to his surprise, he discovers a new dragon.
Now, Wild is familiar with all of the dragons in Hyrule. Farosh, Naydra, and Dinraal are just on the threshold of Spirit and Mortal, but they definitely qualify as spiritual beings. Meaning that Wild can speak telepathically to them. Their thoughts are always muddy and jumbled up, so he never gets much out of conversing with them. But he can tell that they enjoy his presence. So he rides with them in the skies of Hyrule for hours at a time.
This new dragon is smaller than the three he knows and flies much higher. Its ears are shorter, hair golden, eyes stunning. Instead of six legs, this one only has five. A scarred stump at its front and a glowing object on- no in- its poor head. Wild makes his way over as fast as he can, desperate to learn more about the beast.
The new dragon’s thoughts are just as jumbled up as he’s used to but he’s caught off guard by how miserable it feels. No. She. How miserable she feels. Wild places a glowing hand on her snout and tries to calm her, but it’s no use. Her thoughts may be chaotic and disorganized, but he senses her distress. She wants- sword. Knight. Link Link Link. You must find me, you have to save them all!
Wild takes the Master Sword from where it was buried in the dragon’s golden mane and is nearly thrown off by her shock at the action. But when his sword is once again in his capable hands, he feels an overwhelming gratitude from the dragon. It’s gone as soon as it came, replaced again by misery. Dread. Grief.
During the events of Breath of the Wild, Wild did not fight to save Zelda. He did not fight to save Hyrule. He fought for the land. For his fellow spirits that were being destroyed by malice. For the forests that were burned down by guardians. For the water that was poisoned by monsters. He defeated Calamity Ganon for his family.
He fights Ganondorf for the same reason. Except… maybe this time, he’s extra motivated by that strange new dragon. She seemed… so sad…
THIS IS GETTING WAY TOO LONG. But suffice to say that after the events of Tears of the Kingdom, Flora does not 100% recover from being a dragon. She keeps her telepathic connection to Wild and her immortality. She keeps her horns and scales and SHE gets the Master Sword. She’s a Cryptid as well, and she’s closer to Wild than she ever was.
. . .
Uhhhhh that was super long I apologize. But rambling like this is so much easier than trying to be coherent and careful when I write. I might to it more often if you think it’s legible haha. Feel free to ask questions haha, I love any excuse to talk about my Cryptid boys and their relationships with people in their worlds.

I need protective Dazai in my SKK dynamic.
Sure Chuuya is the physically stronger one, the better one in a fight, the one with the more combat suited ability, but I need Dazai to want to protect him anyway.
Dazai hasn't always been good at it, he hasn't always even tried, but God when he does, he's so desperate to get it right. Because he's failed at it before, he knows how it feels when he can't protect someone he cares about and he can't bear going through it again.
Chuuya's even worse at accepting it, the idea of not being the protector himself is so foreign to him. And for it to be Dazai he accepts it from? It's almost unthinkable to Chuuya sometimes. Sure, Dazai was the one who told him he gets to chose what to do with his power, but to choose to be vulnerable, to lean on someone else? He just doesn't know how to.
So Dazai builds a shelter for Chuuya and it's leaky and the foundation is weak. It falls apart a lot, sometimes he's the one that breaks it, sometimes Chuuya is the one that break it. But it's the best he can do and as much as it falls down Dazai rebuilds it, a little better each time. A little safer, warmer, more open.
And it takes Chuuya a long while, but eventually he learns to be okay seeking out that shelter, to go to Dazai himself when he needs to.

Dad! Roman Roy x Reader Headcanons:
Pairing: Dad! Roman Roy (Succession) x Pregnant! / Parent Reader
Word Count: 1.4k
Author's Note: We're back to sweet and sad Roman Roy over here 💕 I've written a couple of headcanons and fics about the moment Roman finds out his partner is pregnant, so for everyone that requested a follow up to that, here are some Roman as a dad headcanons 😊🌸
Tumblr media
During the Pregnancy:
- This is life changing news for any couple, but when you grew up as sheltered and neglected as sweet, broken Roman Roy, this cracks open your universe all the way to its foundations. He will be in a constant state of panic and sarcasm as he tries to rebuild his world view by your side, but he'll make sure you know that he never has any doubts about you and your future together, his fears land squarely on his shoulders and his abilities to love this new tiny human. But he used to think he'd never love someone the way he loves you, so that fills him with hope that he can surpass his own expectations again.
- He's never had to take responsibility for his actions before in any meaningful way, so don't be surprised if he's a little bit useless when it comes to making plans and getting organised. He'll need help making it to every appointment on time, but by god will he be there, holding your hand and staring at the little screen with an uneasy look in his eye, like he can't quite fathom that there's a life starting inside you.
- Kendall is so excited that his brother is becoming a father that he tries to give him all his best advice, even though most of it is borderline insane. In the end Kendall recommends some 'galaxy brain parenting podcasts' to Roman, and you come home to find them echoing through the penthouse's sound system, Roman scribbling notes like he's trying to cram for an exam at the last minute.
- Prepare to have the absolute highest end luxuries that money can buy for your nursery, a room bigger than your first apartment and that looks like something straight out a catalogue. Sometimes when you're up at night because the wriggling baby inside you won't let you sleep, you'll find Roman sat up in the corner rocking chair, just doing his best to feel at home in this new space, trying to see himself as the kind of father he wants to be.
- Every word he utters for the full nine months is soft, gentle, calm, even when he doesn't feel any of those things. It's like he's trying to make sure this new life doesn't hear the sound of anger or ridicule at any point in its existence, starting as soon as possible in his desperate efforts to be less and less like his father by the day.
- When the time comes for the delivery, Roman has to keep running in and out of the delivery room, struggling to keep still or take a full breath. Finally when it's the moment of truth, he'll be there. Clutching your hand, wailing into your shoulder in a mixture of fear and being completely incapable of seeing you in pain without it eating him alive, and in a flash you two are cradling a little life in your arms, and your time to get ready is up.
Fatherhood:
- From the moment your child is laid in Roman's arms for the first time, fighting every instinct to keep himself physically detached and just let you handle the touchy-feely stuff, he knows this is going to break him, then piece him back together stronger than ever. He knows he's never going to want to put this little one down, the sheer innocence painted across their face and wonder in their eyes as they stare up at him, it's the only way he ever wants to be looked at again. It reminds him of the first time you smiled his way and suddenly he felt like he could be forgiven all his sins.
- Roman is immensely protective, leaving it weeks until any of the family are allowed to visit, not wanting to put either of you at risk, and not wanting anything to burst the bubble of those perfect weeks at home. Yes, it's exhausting and draining and everything feels like you're doing it wrong, but it's easily the happiest Roman's ever felt in his life.
- Conner and Willa appear first thing when visitors are finally allowed, bringing a generally appropriate gift for a newborn and genuine excitement to be a part of your little one's life. Next up is Ken, who brings the latest in baby technology, claiming it will practically raise the child for you, a sentiment that leaves Roman reluctant to even let his brother hold the newborn. Finally Shiv arrives, her gift of a vintage Mercedes parked downstairs for the minute your little one is old enough to drive, a time Roman claims will never come because they're definitely staying a tiny perfect baby forever.
- His family can tell that something has shifted in Roman as he smiles and plays affectionately with little baby Roy, like a warm, loving part of him that had been beaten into a corner and stifled by his father had finally been allowed to break free again and thrive in the light. When Caroline turns up two weeks later, her gift to you a full time nanny that neither of you asked for, Roman sends her away, wanting to take on this role, using his immense privilege to be there for his child in every moment rather than letting a stranger provide help and reduce that responsibility.
- The fact that you brought this light into his world, only makes Roman look at you with even more reverence, truly the greatest gift he could ever hope for. He's not shy in telling you how amazing what you did was, how incredible you already are as a mother, how lucky he and your child are to have you in his life. While he kept himself pretty PG during your pregnancy, prepare to constantly be called a Milf, and to have him slide up behind you when the baby is sleeping, unable to keep his hands off you and asking when you think you should expand your family to include a few siblings.
- As your little one starts toddling, Roman wouldn't want to keep them as locked in an ivory tower as his childhood felt, taking walks through the local park and meeting the other local parents, trying to just be a regular person and normal father for his baby's sake. Watching how easily they can make a new friend and connect him with others feels completely unbelievable when only a few years ago he wasn't sure he'd ever even have a friend of his own, let alone a family full of love.
- When he has to go into Waystar, you best believe 'the world's smallest executive' is coming in too, toddling hand in hand with their father all across the top floor. By the time they're finished for the day, Gerri's bought them an ice cream, Franks brought a balloon and Carolina is looking up how to get a carousel installed in the lobby. And every one of them is so proud of Roman, the picture of growth and stability (or at least trying so hard to be), far from the man they used to worry about on a daily basis.
- It's challenging for any new parents, but Roman still tries to prioritise having the occasional night as just the two of you, spending some time in an adult establishment with adult beverages, even if half your conversations circle back to how incredible your child is, and how hilarious it is that Roman's taught them to call cousin Greg a monster and run away every time he walks in a room, and how you never needed to worry about taking this step together, because you make a perfect team. As long as you work together, you two can really make it through anything, and your growing family is the best thing yet.
- A couple of years later, when you start to realise the feeling inside you is familiar, you aren't even a little bit scared. You'll come running out the bathroom at the little blue tick on a plastic strip and Roman will erupt into cheers like the two of you just single handedly won the superbowl, tackling you to the ground and covering your face in tears and kisses as he realises this is exactly where, and who, he was meant to be.

What do you need to hear right now?
✨How to select your pile?✨
1. Slow your breathing, taking deep inhales. Focus on feeling present in your environment.
2. Looking from left to right, use your intuition to pick the pile meant for you (what you connect most with.)
3. Doesn't resonate? No worries! Pick another, it's message may be just right for you.
• • •
pile 1 -> pile 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-> Pile 3
Pile 1 ;
Cards: 6 of Swords, Queen of Wands, 2 of Wands, Knight of Wands, The Tower (base)
"You have the strength to move forward, Keep going!"
The biggest obstacle in your life right now may be your thoughts. Perhaps you have tried to change or improve certain aspects in your life, particularly the actions you perform to meet your goals, and feel burdened with insecurity as you face hardships and deal with your circumstances. Maybe you've tried to change your life in the past but got disheartened, believing you weren't capable of overcoming your struggles. It seems that you've nurtured an idea, business, relationship, habit, or any action that isn't serving you anymore now that you've grown outside of it. Like building a foundation on unsafe lands, only after an event happens do you realize that it is time to bring about change for your own sake, and rebuild your life on stronger soil. Realizing this may cause a great deal of pain for you, but this change will be fruitful in the end.
~~~~🍃
There is indecision in what next step you should take, but know that you've overcome the greatest leap of all: The first step. You absolutely do have courage to shake off the shackles of your past, whatever they may be. What's next in store for you is a lot of action, but this time with the right decisions and choices.
We all have different circumstances in life, what we need to do is make the best out of it, with whatever we've got. 💚
~~~~🍃
Pile 2 ;
Cards: 10 of Swords, The Emperor, Justice, 3 of swords, 7 of swords, Ace of Wands & The Fool (base)
"You must look like a fool before becoming the master."
Get to work, baby! The message you need to hear right now is get into action! You've got the m-fing chances to be successful! This signals massive career change or great profits. You may have healed or are in the process of healing from a catastrophic event, leaning into a lot of internal questioning, perhaps overcoming grief or loss. You may be exploring different careers you can pursue, or areas of study. You got to take action despite your hesitance to new beginnings, and there will be a great need for discipline, learning new techniques, acquiring skills to master your area in interest. Most likely you will need to sacrifice your hedonist tendencies, maybe even a person that is unbelieving in you, and whatever else is holding you back. I'm hearing "necessary sacrifice". I'm getting the vibe that this could be a business, freelance work, maybe a very demanding job that you considered doing. Delve into uncharted territories and keep reconsidering your career path if you question it being right for you. Your strength relies greatly on your ability to start, now you just need to GO! GO!GO!
~~~~🍃
Pile 3 ;
Cards : 10 of wands, Knight of Pentacles, The Star, Knight of Cups, Ace of Swords (rev)
"You are your biggest investment"
Focus on yourself more, man! It's likely that you're burdened with too many tasks and responsibilities, possibly some from a partnership? Get more in touch with your emotions, your relationships, with yourself, dammit!!! I'm getting massive workaholic vibes here, and that applies to all forms of labor btw! Give yourself a break, you deserve it so much. Neglect your logical, ultra-efficient side for now, because I guarantee that getting a break from your responsibilities (Maybe you are the breadwinner, caretaker, student, or an ambitious person trying to kickstart a business) will produce greater financial success/less financial burden. It's possible you're stressing too much about money, but to you, that stress is reasonable. Let go of the thoughts that limit you to your area of work, and start exploring more of your identity and emotions. You will be able to make a lot of progress with this balance. 💚
~~🍃 You reached the end of the reading, 'till next time!
words cannot express how excited i am for season five. just really excited to see where nandor and guillermo's relationship picks up and where it goes from here.
to be perfectly honest, i don't think this cliffhanger is as big as they made it out to be but i think it's a really good one. i don't know if derek will agree to turning guillermo, there is evidence that he might because he wants a friend really badly - but he also might not because he isn't a thief and guillermo offering to pay him with embezzlement money instead of just being his friend might turn him off. it could go either way!
personally, i kinda hope he does do it. i think nandermo need this. i think part of their issue is that nandor thinks guillermo ONLY stays because he wants nandor to turn him. if someone else does it then nandor will have to start to understand that guillermo is there because he wants to be, not because he's expecting something out of it and the fact that the love he has been searching for was always already in front of him will start to sink in.
nandor's true feelings toward guillermo being "i don't know what i would do without you." was a setup for the next phase of their relationship where nandor has to face actually losing guillermo (third time's the charm) and realizing it was his own actions that caused it and having to work to get him back and prove that he wants him and not as a familiar. he just wants him.
also, i think the possibility of nandor being really jealous of derek is SO FUN. if derek turns him and maybe they become roomates and best friends (or maybe a lil more? 🤭👀) it would drive nandor NUTS and i can see him slowly starting to crack until he has that moment of realization we have been dying for. and it's gonna hit him like a truck! and seeing guillermo get pined over is gonna be so rewarding. and i am proud of guillermo for taking things into his own hands and going and getting what he wants (or at least trying) and i love how this showcases that guillermo could always have left these past 13 years.
this finale is perfect for them rn because it's going to blow apart their relationship and they're gonna have to rebuild the foundation as stronger and even and on new and better terms. nandor is gonna have to work on getting guillermo back home, guillermo is finally see that he IS LOVED and is gonna have to tell him that he wants to stay because he cares about him and not because he wants to be turned. they're gonna have to actually talk about all of their repressed feelings and it's gonna be so good, especially since the writers and promotional teams are officially no longer shying away from the fact that their relationship is a will they/won't they at all. things are changing and moving forward and that is so exciting.
I don't think the people saying the apology ballet stuff are genuinely saying that only Aziraphale was wrong, just that the screw up on his part was so massive that while they both have to work stuff out, and they do, for once Aziraphale should apologize to Crowley (he literally never has as far as we've seen I think) and it's gonna have to be like, a big one. Especially because of the never apologizing thing (I seriously can't recall him ever apologizing to Crowley)
However I disagree that the dance should disappear entirely. It seems like a very cute thing to keep around... But only for trivial everyday silly married stuff, once they actually have a functional relationship with proper communication. You know the stuff I mean, things like arguing over the sofa in the new cottage or a restaurant one of them doesn't want to try but ends up liking. Think it'd be hilarious. Imagine them in the middle of a store going "I was wrong you were right" with dance steps over an ugly armchair or something
(I'm putting this under a read more cuz it go long lol)
There's certainly this very unbalanced dynamic that has taken root between them, when it comes to admitting fault, isn't there? It's true we never see Aziraphale apologize, but on the other hand, all of Crowley's apologies to me always felt less about the act and more about Crowley saying what he thinks he needs to say in order to have Aziraphale stop being mad at him. As smartly pointed out by a reply I got on that post, the apology dance wasn't really an apology, it was just a way to sweep their little row under the rug and continue on as if it never happened in the first place. Another blatant example of this is in season one, when, after their fight at the bandstand, Crowley tries one last time to convince Aziraphale to run away. Quoting by memory, sorry if it's not entirely accurate, but Crowley says: "I'm sorry, I apologize, whatever I said I didn't meant it! Work with me, I'm apologizing here, yes, good? Get in the car." It's an apology only on the face of it, from the almost dismissive tone to the way Crowley rushes into it; he's 'apologizing' because that's what he does when they have a quarrel, even if he doesn't mean it, even if he still thinks he's right, all just in service of making sure Aziraphale is talking to him again and continue on, one more little chip in the mug that is their disastrous communication.
Pretty much all of the issues between them, in the end, lead back to that single, big point: They don't communicate, because up until the armaggeddon, they couldn't. Their lives literally depended on being able to say what they wanted to say without actually saying it, but of course it's inevitable when, forced to communicate in such a manner with one another, the waters would get muddled. It is an inevitable consequence that at some point the mug would just... Break.
And personally I do not think that Aziraphale owes a bigger apology, in this case. To be clear, I'm not defending his actions blindly, and I think we can all agree that him proposing to Crowley to go back to being an angel was hella hurtful, but Crowley punched back just as much, didn't he? That kiss was 6000 years of hopes and regrets all piled into one, all pushed onto Aziraphale as a last, desperate hail Mary, with all the the consequences that entails, and that hurt him something fierce.
And that's how we get "I forgive you".
I don't believe either of them owes the other a 'bigger' apology. I think they both owe and deserve a sincere one, one that comes from the heart, with the acknowledgement of all the mistakes made on both parts, and what they intend to do to rebuild upon stronger foundations.
That said the idea of the apology dance being used much, much later, when wounds have been healed and issues settled, being used for small, silly everyday things as a way to just make the other laugh... Yes, that is one Big Galaxy Brain take, my friend, I accept it wholeheartedly.
She became one of the first technicians in photovoltaic solar energy systems in Gaza, and one of the most influential women in Palestine in 2021. Through her work in ensuring a greener future she has become a role model for many girls within her community. Showing them how to be strong, smart, and resilient in the face of challenges and hardships.
Ghada had big dreams that went beyond studying a male-dominated field or winning the green skills contest. She wanted to finish her education and start her own business. She worked hard to make her dream come true, but the war shattered her life. In one night, the war took everything from her: her home, her room, her office, her smile, and her memories. Ghada and her family are traumatized now because of what they went through. She was looking forward to graduating, wearing the gown, and celebrating with her family.
She was pursuing the rewarding and challenging career of renewable energy and business administration, growing her business with optimism. Now, everything is in ruins - her dreams are buried under the rubble, her home is destroyed, and their lives are disrupted.
Ghada is the sole provider for her family of eleven, but the war robbed her of her job, her home, and everything she owned. They have no income and nothing left. Her father, who is 62 years old, had a horrible car accident in August 2023 that fractured many bones in his body and head. He is still suffering from the aftermath of the accident and needs urgent medical care, but he could not complete his treatment because of... the war. Moreover, Ghada had a hole in her eardrum due to the loud noise of the bombing, and she needs treatment urgently.
Ghada and her family need urgent humanitarian aid; I am asking you to donate whatever you can to help Ghada rebuild her life. With your generous support, we can give her food, water, medicine, clothing, shelter and more. We aspire to be able to raise an amount that will help Ghada and her family leave Gaza and start a new life away from fear, danger, destruction, and war; because even when the war is over, the situation in Gaza will not return to what it was before the war, Gaza has become a completely destroyed place.
Do not lose hope... Be stronger and demand the saving of Ghada and her family's lives. You are our only hope, together we can make a lasting impact.
Summary: You watch Luke share those same traditions he once shared with you; with somebody else.
Imagine standing in the midst of a roaring crowd, the electric energy of the hockey arena coursing through your veins. You had traveled far to witness the New Jersey Devils play, but little did you know that fate had prepared a bittersweet surprise for you on this unforgettable night.
Years ago, you and Luke Hughes had been deeply in love, united by a shared passion for hockey and an unbreakable bond. As Luke played for UMICH, your heart swelled with pride each time you watched him on the ice. The end of every game marked a cherished tradition between the two of you—a moment when you would venture down to the ice, and he would skate over, his eyes shining with victory, to share a tender embrace.
But life has a way of throwing unexpected curveballs. Luke's exceptional skills and dedication led him to be drafted into the NHL, with an opportunity to play for the New Jersey Devils. Faced with the immense demands of his budding professional career, he made the agonizing decision to break up with you, believing he couldn't balance his hockey dreams and a relationship.
Fast forward to the present, and here you were, attending a Devils game, hoping to recapture the magic of those cherished memories. The arena throbbed with anticipation, and as the final buzzer sounded, the Devils emerged triumphant. The jumbotron illuminated the arena, and your heart skipped a beat as Luke appeared on the screen, engaged in the very same end-of-game tradition that had once been yours.
Only this time, a pang of heartache shot through you as you noticed another girl by his side. The jumbotron captured your heartbroken expression, freezing it in time for all to see. Overwhelmed by a mix of emotions, you made a swift decision to retreat from the arena, feeling as if the foundation of your world had crumbled.
Yet, as you turned to leave, the sound of hurried footsteps and a familiar voice calling your name caught your attention. You glanced back, your eyes meeting Luke's desperate gaze. He had seen your devastated face on the jumbotron, and in that instant, his heart shattered into a thousand pieces.
Racing towards you, Luke's voice trembled as he spilled his feelings, his words flowing with raw emotion. He confessed the overwhelming emptiness he had felt since the day he let you go, acknowledging that no success or new partner could ever replace the love he had lost. It was a heartfelt admission of his mistake and a plea for forgiveness.
Tears welled up in your eyes as you listened, torn between the pain of the past and the flicker of hope rekindled within you. The love you had shared with Luke was powerful, resilient, and etched into the very fabric of your being. With each word he spoke, the walls guarding your heart began to crumble.
In that decisive moment, you let go of the pain and chose to embrace the possibility of a future together. The hurt transformed into a fierce determination to rebuild what had been lost, stronger and more resilient than ever before.
With trembling hands and a voice filled with vulnerability, you shared your own truth, confessing that despite the heartbreak, your love for Luke had never wavered. It was a testament to the depth of your connection and the strength of your bond.
In the midst of the arena's chaos, your eyes locked, and you saw in his gaze the same love that had once consumed both of your hearts. Everything fell into place as Luke closed the distance between you, his touch conveying both longing and regret. The world around you melted away as you melted into each other's arms, rediscovering the warmth and solace that only true
Power of Twelve Book Titles and Blurbs
Book 1: Fated Stars
“There will be three, kin of your kin...who hold the power of the stars in their paws.”
Those were the words whispered in the ears of the clan leaders. After a devastating battle rocks the foundation of the clans, new power has arisen and peace looks to be on the horizon. The Clans are growing strong and healthy with new kits. Now, the time has come for some of those kits to become apprentices.
With powerful legacies hanging over them, these wild cats hear the call of the stars, and a ThunderClan apprentice known as Jaypaw is at the center. Brought together for a purpose they do not yet understand, perhaps this mysterious fifth clan will have the answers they seek.
But with great power comes those who wish to claim it for themselves. As dark powers lurk and tempt the young cats, they will need to put aside their differences to overcome the challenges ahead.
Book 2: Black Moon
Jaypaw, Dawnpaw, Kestrelpaw, and Pebblepaw have found SkyClan and learned their ways, guiding them in turn towards the lake territories. But back home things aren’t looking bright. A mysterious cat named Sol is turning the clans against each other during their moment of weakness, and his accomplice seems to know a great deal about WindClan’s leader.
The gifted apprentices are learning they really aren’t as different as the clans make them out to be, but high tensions are putting their alliance in danger. When one of their own is taken hostage by the enemy, it’ll take all of their power to bring her home safely.
SkyClan may be their last hope in overcoming Sol, but there’s a long journey ahead. With Harepaw questioning his loyalty to his father, and Jaypaw questioning the guidance of the stars, can anyone really be trusted?
Book 3: Calm Waters
Sol and his rogues have retreated, and the clans are stronger now than ever. SkyClan has joined them at the lake, and while many are eager to welcome those who helped them, others are apprehensive to the change.
As their knowledge of The Dark Forest continues to grow, so too does their knowledge of StarClan. The stars were always heralded as their savior, and yet Jayfeather finds himself questioning the very cats he communes with.
A secret will shake the very foundation of not only the alliance, but the friendship between the apprentices. And when the dust settles, will there be anything left to rebuild?
Book 4: Dust
The alliance has been broken, trust shattered after Jayfeather’s revelation. Some attempt to move on from the prophecy, while others take matters into their own paws. From the dust and remnants, the warriors are training their own apprentices, and discovering more than they expected.
When a cat from the mountains comes to RiverClan claiming she was guided by the spirit of RiverClan’s chosen, questions arise on what more the stars ask of them.
The Dark Forest grows stronger, preying on the weakness within the cats of the living. With Lionblaze’s anger, Tigerheart’s longing, and Minnowtail’s love, will any of these cats be able to free themselves like Harespring?
Book 5: Secret in the Flames
Having found the true cats with the stars in their paws, the alliance has slowly rebuilt itself, with unlikely allies being found in every corner. Jayfeather knows the end draws near, but whispers of traitorous secrets reveal they were never as safe as they thought.
With the return of an enemy thought to have been gone, tensions are rising, and the cats look to Jayfeather for answers. But when loss becomes too great, will the cats be able to persevere and lead their clanmates to victory?
Book 6: The Last Hope
The Dark Forest is ready to lay siege to the clans. As the cats prepare to lead their clans into battle, they find themselves divided in order to face this threat. They cannot hide any longer. The final battle is here, and this is their last hope.
Shattered Vows
---
The bond between you and Geralt of Rivia had weathered countless trials and tribulations, but fate had a cruel twist in store for your love story. It was a fateful day when the foundations of your relationship began to crumble, and the shards of your shattered vows pierced your heart.
Whispers had reached your ears, rumors that Geralt had been seen in the company of another. At first, you dismissed them as baseless gossip, trusting in the love you shared. But the doubts gnawed at the edges of your mind, refusing to be silenced.
Confronting Geralt, you hoped for reassurance, for him to deny the accusations and affirm his unwavering loyalty. However, his eyes, once filled with tenderness, now held a flicker of guilt and remorse.
"It's true," he confessed, his voice heavy with regret. "I fell into a moment of weakness, and I betrayed your trust."
The weight of those words crashed upon you, shattering the world you had built together. The pain carved deep furrows across your heart, leaving you gasping for breath amidst the wreckage of your love.
Unable to bear the weight of the betrayal, you chose to distance yourself from Geralt, seeking solace in solitude. The days turned into a haze of longing and heartache as you grappled with the shattered fragments of your once unbreakable bond.
As time passed, whispers reached your ears once more, this time carrying news of Geralt's new lover, Yennefer of Vengerberg. The sting of the betrayal deepened as you realized that the bond you had shared with Geralt had been replaced, cast aside for another's embrace.
With a heavy heart, you watched from the shadows as Geralt and Yennefer's paths intertwined, their love blooming while your heart withered in silence. The pain of witnessing their happiness was a constant reminder of the love you had lost and the dreams that lay shattered at your feet.
In the depths of your despair, you found strength to rebuild your life, to gather the fragments of your shattered heart and forge a new path. It was a path of healing, of self-discovery, and of finding solace in the pieces of yourself that remained intact.
Geralt's presence lingered in your memories, an ache that refused to fade entirely. But you vowed to move forward, to reclaim your sense of self and find happiness anew, even if it meant letting go of the love you had once held so dear.
In time, the wounds began to heal, scarring over with resilience and newfound wisdom. The pain of Geralt's betrayal would forever be etched upon your heart, but you emerged from the crucible stronger, wiser, and ready to face a future where your own happiness took precedence.
And so, you walked away from the shattered promises, the shattered dreams, and the shattered love, finding solace in the knowledge that even through heartbreak, you had the strength to rebuild and forge a new destiny for yourself—a destiny defined by your own choices and the strength of your indomitable spirit.
WIP WEDNESDAY
Alex, a member of the President’s Cabinet, is the Designated Survivor during the State of the Union speech. After an explosion that destroys the political landscape of America, Alex is sworn in as President of the United States.
Follow along as Alex rises to his new position, Henry tries to find his place, and together rebuild a broken nation.
Quote from latest chapter, Alex’s first speech as President;
“My fellow Americans. Tonight our great nation was attacked. It was a targeted assault designed to destroy the very foundations of this country. As we mourn the countless losses of those dear to us, loved ones we all looked up to and revered, know this: my administration will not rest until we find the perpetrators of this act of cowardice and bring them to justice.
We are in an unprecedented situation and you may think me unprepared for this role. I may be young but I am ready for the task ahead. I have lived and breathed politics my entire life. My mother, former President Ellen Claremont, and my father Senator Oscar Diaz, raised a child born for the role of President. I understand what I have been given tonight and I will do right by it and you. I am, and always have been - first, last, and always - a child of America. My blood runs from Lometa, Texas and San Diego, California and Mexico City. I said these words to you 15 years ago, during a speech broadcasted from the White House press room. I am still the son America raised and I will strive for the betterment of this country as presidents before me have.
We have all been handed the impossible tonight, insurmountable tasks that require us to reach further than we have before. If there is one thing I can ask of you tonight, my fellow Americans, it is this; please afford me the patience and time to rebuild this nation from the ground up.
We will rise stronger and show the world that the United States of America remains the most powerful nation on this Earth. We will not let them win nor allow our country to succumb to the evils that plague this world.
Together, we will move forward without fear.
Thank you.”
Today, I want to open up about something that's been weighing heavily on my heart lately - the feeling of complete destruction after going through a breakup with someone who was not only my partner but also my best friend. Breakups can be devastating, but when you lose both romantic and platonic connections simultaneously, it can feel like your world has been shattered into a million pieces.
Tumblr media
When a breakup like this happens, it's not just the loss of a romantic relationship we mourn; it's the loss of a confidante, a support system, a kindred spirit who knew us intimately. It's losing someone who was a huge part of our daily lives, someone we shared laughter, tears, and countless memories with. It's the sudden absence of that familiar presence that leaves us feeling hollow and utterly destroyed.
The aftermath of such a breakup can be both chaotic and excruciatingly painful. We may find ourselves in a seemingly bottomless abyss, questioning everything we thought we knew about ourselves and the world around us. It's as if the very foundation of our lives has crumbled, leaving us feeling lost, betrayed, and overwhelmed by the devastation.
Yet, amidst this destruction, we find an unexpected strength within ourselves. We discover an inner resilience we didn't know we had, as we pick up the shattered fragments of our lives and begin the process of rebuilding. It's in this dark abyss that we learn to embrace our own strength and redefine our sense of self.
During this healing journey, it's important to give ourselves permission to grieve the loss fully. Allow yourself to feel the pain, the anger, the sadness - these emotions are valid and necessary for healing. Surround yourself with a supportive network of friends, family, or online communities who can offer understanding, encouragement, and a shoulder to lean on.
In the midst of the chaos, take the time to reconnect with yourself. Engage in self-care activities that bring you solace, whether it's journaling, practicing mindfulness, or pursuing new hobbies. Rediscover your passions, desires, and dreams that may have been overshadowed by the relationship. Use this time to focus on personal growth and self-discovery.
Remember, healing is not linear, and it takes time. Be patient with yourself, and don't rush the process. Know that you are strong, resilient, and capable of navigating these stormy waters. Eventually, the clouds will part, and you'll emerge stronger and wiser, ready to embrace new beginnings.
To all those who have experienced the devastation of a breakup with their partner and best friend, I see you, I hear you, and I'm sending you strength and love. Remember, destruction paves the way for growth, and you have the power to rebuild a life that is even more beautiful than before.
Prompted by @devonofnine - “you’re worthy of my love” - thank you!
>>>>>
Maya paces up and down outside Carina’s hotel room, absentmindedly wringing her hands together. She bites down into her bottom lip and lets out a long, nervous exhale.
She should be excited. Just twelve hours ago, Carina had told her that she wanted to fix their marriage and agreed to go on a date with her. Maya should be making plans to sweep her wife off her feet, instead of lingering in a hotel corridor like an idiot. But, as happy as she is at the big step forward they took last night, her mind is stuck one thing.
She made a vow to Carina yesterday to rebuild their foundations, to make their relationship stronger than it ever has been. How can they do that, when there is one thing – one big thing – that Maya needs her to know? A thing that might rock their foundations beyond repair.
Maya has been thinking about it all night, barely sleeping as she had stared up at the ceiling above her bunk. Old Maya – the Maya before her accident – would have buried it and kept it a secret, telling herself that it is better than Carina doesn’t know. But she isn’t that Maya anymore and she owes it to Carina, and their marriage, to be honest with her from the beginning – otherwise she has no hope of winning her back.
She takes a deep breath and knocks three times, willing her heart to stop beating so fast as she waits for the door to open.
Carina is surprised to see her.
“Maya! What are you doing here?”
“I… can I come in?”
Carina shoots her a curious glance and steps back, opening the door wider to invite Maya into her room. Despite the distance that has grown between them, she can sense that there is something weighing on Maya’s mind.
“Is everything okay, bambina?”
Maya smiles at the nickname, a familiar term of endearment that she wasn’t sure she would hear again. She looks around at the hotel room. She wishes every day that Carina was at home with her, safe and happy in their apartment.
“Maya?”
“I, uh, I need to tell you something,” Maya says. She looks bravely into Carina’s eyes. “Something that I don’t think you’re going to like hearing.”
She sees fear and confusion on Carina’s face, sees her body tense, and guilt courses through her again.
“When I was… before I…” She sighs. “After Beckett told you and everyone else about the blackmail, I was pissed and I wanted to hurt him. So I bought him a bottle of whisky and took it to him. I left it in his office, knowing that it would tempt him. I wanted him to be tempted.”
Carina doesn’t say anything and Maya can’t read her.
"I don’t know what happened next with Beckett, because I was so far into my own head that I didn’t care. But he was probably drunk that day at the training exercise when Cooper died and, while I know that it wasn’t my fault, I know that my actions contributed to it.”
She looks away from Carina at that point, blinking back the tears that pool in the corner of her eyes, and takes another deep breath.
“I thought you should know,” Maya continues. “You deserve the truth before you go on a date with me. In case…”
She trails off, too scared to finish her sentence.
“In case I decide that I don’t want to save our marriage after all?” Carina finally speaks.
Maya looks back at her and nods.
“You should know everything before you jump back in.”
“Maya,” Carina says softly, stepping forwards. “It’s too late for that. I’m already in.”
She reaches out to brush Maya’s hair out of her face, curling it behind her ear. Maya closes her eyes at her touch, tilting her head into her hand.
“And you’re right, I don’t like what you just told me. But I’m glad you did. And it doesn’t change anything about what I said yesterday.”
Maya shakes her head, dropping her eyes. “I did something terrible.”
“Maya… my love, look at me,” Carina says. She waits until Maya lifts her eyes. “You were sick and, yes, you did something terrible – and you’re sorry about it. I could see that before you even told me about what happened. Tell me, bambina, would you do it again?”
“No!” Maya says without hesitation. “Of course not.”
Carina smiles. “Then that’s all I need to know.”
“But I keep doing things that make it hard to love me. What if…?”
“Maya, I will never stop loving you,” Carina tries to allay her fears. “If I’ve learned anything these last few months, it’s that I love you completely. And what you need to learn is that, even in your darkest days, you are worthy of patience and forgiveness.” She lifts her hand and runs it over Maya’s cheek, wiping away the tears that fall. “And you’re worthy of my love.”
Maya forgets to breathe for a moment as she wonders if Carina is about to kiss her, but instead she slides her hand around Maya’s shoulders, pulling her close and hugging her. Maya buries her face into Carina’s neck, breathing in the familiar scent of her shampoo.
“I love you,” she murmurs.
Carina doesn’t say it back, but Maya feels her embrace tighten and she allows herself to be held for a moment.
“So,” Carina says when they pull back. “Where are you taking me on our date?”
“Can I take you out to lunch today?” Maya asks.
Carina scrunches her nose. “I’m working today. How about tomorrow?”
“I’ll be on shift,” Maya says. She feels impatient and doesn’t want to wait too long before she sees Carina again. “Why don’t you come by for dinner? Andy wants us to do something nice for Theo while he’s acting captain – and you know the team always loves to see you.”
“Okay,” Carina says with a small smile. “How about I bring cannoli for dessert?”
Maya returns her smile, the guilt that has been weighing down on her washed away as relief floods her body.  “Sounds perfect.”
Mending Hearts 2/2
Tumblr media
Jason todd x GN! Reader
Part 2 of : Fragments of a Broken Heart
Months had passed since Jason Todd and the reader had gone their separate ways, their hearts heavy with the weight of their fractured love. Each day, they carried the burden of what could have been, haunted by the memories of their painful goodbye.
The absence of the reader lingered in Jason's every breath, reminding him of the void they had left behind. He longed to reach out, to mend the fragments of their broken hearts, but fear and uncertainty held him back. What if they had moved on? What if they no longer wanted him in their life?
Meanwhile, the reader had navigated their own path, trying to heal the wounds left behind by the words that had torn them apart. But no matter how they tried, their heart remained tethered to Jason, unable to forget the love they had shared. The pain of their separation had taught them the value of what they had lost, and now, their heart yearned for reconciliation.
It was on a quiet evening, as the city lights painted a picturesque backdrop, that fate intervened. Jason and the reader found themselves standing on the same rooftop, their eyes meeting for the first time in what felt like an eternity. The air crackled with unspoken words, their hearts yearning for understanding.
Jason took a step forward, his voice filled with a mixture of hope and apprehension. "I never stopped thinking about you, you know. Every day, you've been on my mind. I'm sorry for the hurtful words I said, for pushing you away."
The reader's gaze softened, their own voice trembling with vulnerability. "I've missed you too, Jason. The pain we caused each other... it reminded me of how deeply we loved. But I'm afraid of being hurt again."
Jason closed the distance between them, his hands reaching out, hesitant yet filled with longing. "I can't promise you a life free from pain, but I promise to do better, to learn from our mistakes. Let me show you that we can rebuild what we lost."
A flicker of hope ignited within the reader's heart as they extended their hand, intertwining their fingers with Jason's. It was a leap of faith, a fragile step towards forgiveness and healing.
Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, as Jason and the reader navigated the path of rebuilding their love. They learned to communicate, to unravel the layers of hurt and misunderstanding that had driven them apart. Each conversation brought them closer, healing wounds with the balm of patience and understanding.
They discovered that the pain they had inflicted on each other had left scars, but those scars were now testaments to their resilience. They chose to embrace their flaws and imperfections, knowing that it was through vulnerability that true strength emerged.
Laughter began to fill the spaces where silence had once reigned. The tender moments of forgiveness and acceptance laid the foundation for a love that had weathered storms and emerged stronger.
In the warmth of each other's embrace, they found solace and redemption. They rekindled the flame of passion that had never truly extinguished, embracing the ecstasy and vulnerability of love.
They had learned that love was not about perfection or the absence of pain. It was about the willingness to fight for each other, to mend what was broken, and to find beauty in the scars.
And as the sun set over the cityscape, casting hues of orange and gold, Jason Todd and the reader stood together, their hearts intertwined once more. They knew that the road ahead would not always be smooth, but they were determined to face it together.
In the vastness of the universe, where stars burned and galaxies collided, their love had found its way back, a beacon of hope and resilience. And with every beat of their mended hearts, they knew that their love was stronger than ever before.
Together, they embarked on a new chapter, leaving behind the pain of the past and embracing the possibility of a future filled with love, understanding, and the unwavering commitment to cherish each other.
