IT'S MY BIRTHDAY 🥳🧁

Well, would you look at that? I've officially hit the two-decade mark, and you know what? I'm feeling surprisingly chill about it. No big party plans, no elaborate decorations—just me, myself, and a whole lot of Netflix. I guess you could say I'm taking the whole "aging gracefully" thing to a whole new level. But just when I thought this birthday was going to be as quiet as a library on a Sunday afternoon, my phone lights up like a Christmas tree at exactly midnight. Lo and behold, it's a text from my boyfriend, and let me tell you, he went all out. I'm talking a paragraph longer than my last essay, filled with enough birthday wishes to make even the most cynical heart melt. He's going on about how I'm the light of his life, the peanut butter to his jelly, the... well, you get the idea. It's sweet, and it's exactly what I needed to kick off this new decade on the right foot. You know what? In that moment, surrounded by the glow of my phone screen and that sweet little paragraph I realized that maybe birthdays aren't about the big parties or the fancy gifts. Maybe they're about those little moments of connection, those unexpected gestures of love, and those cheesy serenades at exactly midnight. So here's to turning 20, to embracing the unexpected, and to finding joy in the little things. And hey, who knows? Maybe I'll even indulge in a slice of birthday cake... or two.

At first I had mixed feelings about the casting of Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen. His Doctor seemed a bit emo-ish, though his Prince Phillip on The Crown showcased his range.

But as Daemon, Matt has been brilliant. He is able to change emotional gears as needed with little apparent effort. He's an example of the many excellent casting choices made by the team running House of the Dragon.
