Happy Succession Sunday folks!

So here it is, the official announcement post for the SUCC Fest! This should give you about a little less or more than a week's time depending on when you decide to post your work.

Share this post, so other can see it and take part! <3

But before, you scroll onto the prompts and their explanations, here's some important things!

Introduction

Well, who are we? Here's a brief introduction to us:

Clover: Hi! I'm @your-machiavellian-cousin-clover :) I got into Succession around March of this year, and it's never left me ever since. Well, I usually hang out in Tomgreg spaces, so if you've seen the "Everyone ships Tomgreg", "Matt Mac ships Tomgreg", or Richard Siken-ification of Tom Wambsgans, that's me *waves*

If you see colour purple in the doc, that's me speaking individually!

Elise: Hi folks! it's me! elise! who u probably know better as @feuillytheflorist and u might know me even better from my absurd au's (the tomgreg pirates? the tomgreg horror radio? those were me lol!) I'll be speaking in red.

Ground Rules

E: What it says below. Lets keep this a safe and inclusive space for everybody!

C: Well, as Elise put it the other day, "don't be an asshole, and don't be a creep." No incest ships. No Bigotry. I think that covers out bases. Also since this fest is open to all, please tag your trigger warnings (if applicable) and keep it sfw y'all!

And Finally, The Prompts!

1. Tis is the Season for anything!

C: Well, as it says on the label, this one's all about the season. But honestly, it doesn't have to Christmas. This time of the year is very festive to different group of people, so go for it!

E: Tis the season and all that, it's December, and all that goes with that-- gift giving, hot drinks, christmas trees, and, if it's your thing,,, angst!

2. Well, here’s the punchline

E: We do love and respect crack ships and crack aus. If you want to do something off the walls, wild, or downright silly, now's your time!

C: In this house we respect crack ships. Whether it be Glowstick Greg x Mr Tom Darcy, which you have a free reign to write about, or something extremely implausible. Go for it! Make us crackle and laugh at your works!

3. One Word Special: Hot Topic

C: Well, for reasons undisclosed, me and Elise both have a soft spot for Hot Topic, and well, Hot Topic Greg is our beloved. This is very open to be interpreted, so well, it could be a throwaway line, a setting or the main plot point.

E: Hot Topic, the love of my life. Greg and those silly red suspenders. Take this however you like!

4. Here On Broadway!

E: I know there's succession broadway stans out there, I know you listen to your favorite show and think about your favorite terrible roy. I want to think about them too!

C: Well, don't look at me here, I think Elise's ideas should help you out, much more than I can. I'm pretty much a Hamilton girlie and that's it, so yup! No advice here! Go check out Elise's showtunes Tomgreg playlist though. Might help ?

5. From The Poets

C: Now this here, this is my stuff. Show me the verses that make you think of your poor little meow meows, your besties, and your codings. Make web weavings, gifs, fancams with poetry recitations and your fics with poetry titles. Show me your Richard Siken, Ada Limón, Ginsberg, and everyone else, make me cry, scream and yearn.

E: I'm no Shakespeare, but make this as artsy as you like. What are poems, really, if not vessels for us to talk about fictional characters and the love we have for them.

6. Rarepair, Rarefic

E: Rarepairs need love too! We've all been there, done that. If you have a rarepair that has a place in your heart, share it with the world. Perhaps it won't be so rare anymore!

C: Well, I'm looking very intently at Stewy/Willa folks here, cause y'all, I've been binging your fics and they are good! Well, this prompt is simple, if your characters interacted in canon, how would their interaction go? Do you have words, pictures, or even vibes to offer? Well, show them to us!

7. Give Us A Soliloquy!

C: Well, get into the head of your favourite character, show me the world through their ideas, give me their musings and broodings, make me feel like as if I'm Jeremy Strong method acting by the end of all of this. (Okay, it's alright if it's not very intense, but you know, turn up the angst to a 100 if you want to)

E: Character analysis, Shakespearian monologue, and everything in between. I know this fandom has spectacular character analysis, and we wanna hear it! Focus on your fave (or your least favorite, no judgements) and tell us what they really feel.

8. Fast Forward

E: Down the road a bit... what's happening? Who's got kids? Who's divorced? Who's the CEO? Who's finally in jail for their crimes? It's up to you!

C: Well, what happens in a year or two, or a decade or so later? Do they sink or swim? Who lives? Who dies? Who tells their story? (I'm very sorry, but I'm putting in the only theatre references I know for Elise)

9. In-between The Scenes

C: Show us what you think gets left behind on the cutting floor of HBO. The in-betweens, the travel, the moments where the camera is not on our favourite messes, who are they then?

E: Missing scenes galore! What'd Tom and Greg do after their diner date? Where did Roman go after Kendall's birthday? The world-- all three seasons of it-- is your oyster.

10. Free Square On The Bingo

E: Wanna write something that doesn't fit? Got an art piece you want to share? Got a hyper specific playlist you need everyone to hear? Here's the place for it!

C: Well, if you don't like any of the prompts, and still wanna make something to take part, go ahead! This is your dance floor, show us the best moves!

11. Kiss, Kiss, Kiss

C: I am not above quoting the famous video by our queen, Justine Lupe, where she rightfully says, "Kiss, Kiss, Kiss!". Well, just this is here for you to experiment with!

E: What it says on the tin! Your favorite character getting a smooch! Mondale giving a kiss! Parents and children! Husbands and wives! Someone and their celebrity crush!

12. Back To The Past

E: Everybody loves a backstory-- but there's plenty of characters and relationships that have yet to be explored! Go ahead and speculate on some of 'em!

C: ✨Take Me Back To The Night We Met ✨Well, do we see Stewy meeting Kendall, Connor being a Dad to his siblings, Tom before he ever met Shiv? Do you wanna show us? Go ahead!

13. #Trending

C: Social Media AU. Tweets, Scandals, Tabloids, Notes, Reblogs, etc, etc. Need I say more?

E: Who doesn't love a social media au? I for one think there's a whole subreddit dedicated to the Roy family antics.

14. In Another Time, In Another Life

E: As you may have noticed... i love a historical au....maybe you do too?

C: Mhm, can we get some P&P aus? Or some obscure as heck history aus? Love those. I will give you a big hug <3

15. Through The Fortune Orb

C: Well, in contrast to the other prompt, we'd love to see you predict what would happen in S4? Tomgreg hooking up? (I am def projecting), Romangerri marriage, or something else? Free reign, bois.

E: Where's season four going? What goes on in the writer's room? You tell us?

16. What’s The Colour?

E: Everybody's got a favorite one. What's yours?

C: This one's for the visuals. Well, what's your favourite colour, hue, palette? Go crazy, tell me through your work!

17. The First

C: Pretty open-ended. This one's just for the firsts!

E: Family is everything... or is it? Create a new one, or focus on a preexisting one!

Hey! Ah, this is wild, I love your blog and I'm so excited you liked my fic!

Lol, you're not alone, I got one or two other kind comments from people who read it on here and had thought it was just a one shot. I think Mystic was the only one who was tipped off to there being more to NHAT, or the 'dress fic' verse as we called it - she's been very patient and encouraging which is the only reason I was able to work up the courage to post the first chapter to begin with!

I ADORE Val/Willas, I love them so much as individual characters and the idea struck me out of nowhere and ever since they've been my own (and as a result NHAT's Arya's lol) little crack ship... I have no reason to think they'll actually get together in canon but in my head they're perfect together fjshdfgsf

Ah, don't start me, I'll start quoting Guillermo Del Toro again. I always loved GRRM's monster theme in the key 5 - It normally takes a week with a couple of different programs, but I was so hyped I cranked it out directly from canva in like 4 hours lmao!

there has never been a time in all of hayden’s life when her father looked at her with loving eyes. to him, his oldest of the richardson children was always his one and only. she has only ever gotten an ‘i love you’ from her father a hand-full of times, and each one of those times it sounded rehearsed and far from genuine. this is something that hayden learned to cope with from a young age and now can hardly be bothered to care if her father forgets her birthday.

MOTHER catelyn richardson (née dilaurentis)

hayden was never particularly close with either of her parents but her mother was slightly more present growing up. for a long time, catelyn tried to mold her into the daughter she had wanted; having failed with Vera. The woman wanted a daughter she could treat more like a barbie doll: control her ever move, who she spoke to, what she wore, and what her social life activities were. This was a no go for her as well though and as soon as hayden stopped playing into the things her mother wanted her to be, she lost interest. since then they are like distant old friends whose only bond is that gregory richardson could fucking care less about what happened to them.

BROTHER oliver ramsey richardson

where gregory lacked in father skills, oliver made up for it by trying to be there for hayden as much as possible. from a young age he took it upon himself to look after her and be the father figure she needed but it became difficult when hayden started to break away from her family completely. not only that but oliver had his own life outside of their household that kept him busy. for most of hayden’s teenage life her older brother spent most of his time traveling and only came one once or twice a year. they never held anything against each other though, and now try to keep contact more than ever, spending as much time as possible together whenever he’s in europe.

SISTER vera anastasia richardson

there has never been a real moment of peace between Hayden and her older sister. Vera was always their fathers favorite child — the only one he even had as far as he was concerned from the way he treated oliver and hayden. their father’s love wasn’t something that hayden ever tried to fight vera over but vera never wasted any opportunities in making it known that she was the best, the only worth richardson child in the household. if the two were ever caught being nice towards each other, it was only for appearances, any other time the two girls could barely even be in the same room for more than ten minutes. it wasn’t until vera moved out of the house across the country that the two began to be somewhat tolerant of each other. the distance and all the time they spent without contact was what they needed to go from fighting like cats and dogs to being civil. still, vera any conversation the two have now is filled with passive aggressive comments reminding hayden that she’s the superior one with a more successful life.

Do you have an ao3 or something where I can go read all your old Jaime/Brienne fic? The fic you wrote post-battle is absolutely beautiful...

Ahaha, I do have an AO3 page, which is here (my pseud is also qqueenofhades). Most of my posted fic is in other fandoms, but as far as Jaime/Brienne goes:

My major project for them was The North Remembers, my ginormous book-verse canon completion fic (in which, alas, they have a very bittersweet ending). That was written in 2012-14, so it was a while ago, and as noted, it doesn’t focus on them specifically; they’re part of the ensemble cast for everyone and their story is woven through the larger plot. I am very proud of that fic and it’s pretty famous, but yes, Pain.

If you want something happy-ever-after and sweet and tender, then there is until my breathing stops, in which I ignored the ending I myself gave them in TNR. It is their wedding at Casterly Rock and starting to rebuild the Lannister lands/start a future together after the end of the war, so yes.

Jaime and Brienne were also the background couple in roses & thorns, and standing stones, an unfinished modern AU that was primarily Sansa/Willas Tyrell at Cambridge in the 1960s. And there was in medias res, which was modern Westeros with Brienne as an art student and Jaime as the disinherited rich boy working as a model, and was a fun concept on the endless list of “projects I may do other things with if I’m ever bored.”

There may also be other ficlets or prompts in my jaime x brienne tag, although I don’t have a dedicated fic tag for them specifically. I have loved them for years, and now I have like 2% hope they may get an actual non-terrible ending (at least in the show, since we’re never getting the books). And that is bad and will definitely hurt me and there is still plenty of chances for the show to ruin this in the last three episodes, but COME ON. THEY SURVIVED THE BATTLE OF WINTERFELL. FIGHTING SIDE BY FUCKING SIDE THE WHOLE TIME. IF YOU KILL ONE OF THEM OFF IN SOME CHEAP ASS FASHION WITH CERSEI OR WHATEVER, JUST BECAUSE “WE ARE GAME OF THRONES WE DON’T DO HAPPY ENDINGS” I WILL LOSE MY SHIT.

(God, I thought I was over ranting about GoT like... years ago, but apparently not.)

Anyway! I am glad you enjoyed the battle fic. I had many feelings.

in the inumbrare verse, with jaime still in the kingsguard, is joffrey actually willas' kid or did cersei still manage to cuckold her husband? and is joffrey just as much of a nightmare?

Super interesting question!

So I went back and forth on this a bunch... Cersei has definitely slept with Jaime post-marriage, but given that Willas is not as terrible a husband/uninterested a father as Robert was, Joffrey is a little less awful. Still a spoiled brat, but also not a prince, so some of the bravado is lessened. (Plus, can you see Olenna putting up with that lmao?)

As for his paternity... In my mind, Joffrey is still Jaime’s, but it’s not significant to the plot in any meaningful way, so you have my permission to head canon as you see fit :).

The Hound: would like to explore an alternate plot where Sansa fled King’s Landing with him when he offered.

GREY’S ANATOMY --- joining the army after medical school had seemed a natural step. both parents had served, so why shouldn’t she? it was rare she saw any action, instead helping soldiers to deal with the traumas they continued to endure — she was more of a behind the scenes player, but it suited her well, and she was proud of her work.

an acquaintance of owen hunt and teddy altman, and following an honorable discharge due to injury, it was simple to obtain a job at grey-sloan memorial hospital in seattle as a staff psychiatrist ( and she’s always liked the rain ). sometimes it seems a more chaotic work environment than even a war zone, but katrina continues to love her work, and helping others through their problems often makes it seem easier to deal with her own.

MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE --- like most spies, she was recruited out of the military. joining s.h.i.e.l.d. was hardly the plan she had for her life, but it seemed to fit. she liked it. the training was hard, and lying for a living felt somewhat out of place with her training in the medical field. but it fit. for a long time, she worked solely as a psychiatrist, before electing to take more time as a field agent. she excelled, and began to move up in the organization. it didn’t take long before kat found herself deputy director of the operations division. the fall of s.h.i.e.l.d. was devastating — something she never saw coming. the next months were filled with chaos. interviews, questionings, but before long, kat found herself moving on. on the suggestion of an old friend, maria hill, she decided to apply at stark industries. for a while, she worked in human resources — she enjoyed it, working for a company headed by a powerful woman. but it wasn’t satisfying, after time spent as a spy, and on further discussion with maria, katrina elected to begin working underground with maria, and with former director nick fury.

why do you ship jonsa? my best friend is a hard core jonerys shipper but lately ive been really critical of daenerys, so i cant really hop on that train. i dont really have a preference for jon either way so i wanted to know why you ship them

Oh hello! What a lovely question to ask, though I must warn you this could most likely get draggy and long because I’m so passionate about these two and this ship, they’re my OTP. Actually I only started reading the books last year, before then I was a casual watcher until up to Feb 2016 before season 7 aired. Jon and Sansa had just reunited on the show and I came across this Jonsa instagram on my explore page and I thought, what the fuck is this? It was such an absurd ship to consider - and this is coming from someone who was crack shipping Tommen and Sansa! But I kept scrolling through, the captions in the post came from posts on Tumblr(with credit) explaining the parallels and the ways in which Jonsa could go down and it was sort of like… this strange theory that I subscribed to and was soon convinced of. I tried bringing it up to my friend but she was a casual watcher and didn’t really pay much attention to it so I was craved of my need to discuss this. So come season 7, I rejoined Tumblr and the Jonsa tag was SO rich in content and meta, detailing all the parallels, how it could happen, why it makes sense and how it would wrap up up the narrative in the most satisfying manner. I’ve never shipped something so hard and wanted it to be canon more than with Jonsa(though canon or not I’m not fussy lol).

I’m gonna outline to you some of the main reasons why I think Jonsa has a strong chance of happening in canon, because they’re really why I ship them so hard, they complement each other perfectly though it’s very easy to miss this. I’m keeping this under a ‘Keep Reading’ tab because I know this will get lengthy. Also, any of my followers/people seeing this, do add on in the comments why you ship jonsa or perhaps leave some links to some of your fav meta’s in the comments for OP to screen through if they feel like it!

This will be lengthy but remember I am trying my best to be brief, hopefully the other Jonsa’s will link some metas/parallel series to give you a better idea - I’m only outlining the backbone of the ship!

The Ashford Tourney Pattern

So it actually began when I came across this theory: The Tourney at Ashford was held in-universe, and I wont go much into detail except to mention that all of the 5 champions in that tourney coincide with the houses of the men Sansa is betrothed/married to (i.e. Sansa’s suitors). It goes

Leo Tyrell

Tybolt Lannister

Humfrey Hardyng, and,

Valarr Targaryen.

Now, granted the show’s made some changes but ultimately they’re coming to the same conclusion, and as for book!Sansa(i.e. canon) she’s first betrothed to Joffrey Baratheon, then is promised to Willas Tyrell(changed to Loras on the show), marries Tyrion Lannister, is currently in the works of being betrothed to Harry Hardyng(in the Vale - the Ramsay plot is not hers), and so the logical conclusion would be to complete the pattern by marrying her final suitor, the endgame - a Targaryen. That makes Jon the only candidate viable to her, and yes that sounds ‘out there’ but if you take a look at the narrative, it could make complete sense, so let’s go into how this could logically happen.

Logic

Given the story began with the Starks being the heart of the series, you can only anticipate that the final installation, initially named A Time For Wolves would promise a continuation of the Stark line, and that could come about through Jon and Sansa. They are the only Starks left who’s storyline touches on ideas of fatherhood and motherhood - the only Starks left to ever consider having future children(and weirdly enough where Sansa wants to name her children Bran and Rickon and thinks of a girl who looks like Arya in her dreams of children, Jon wants to name his son Robb - even their dreams complement each other, they’d be rebuilding the Stark family with themselves), the only Starks left to think of restoring Winterfell(and they already go on to do this on the show) etc. When you think of Sansa and how she’s had to fight hard to retain her Stark identity and reclaim it, I cannot imagine GRRM marrying her off to some random lord at the end of the series, when she’s just made it back home. For Jon too, he’s wanted Winterfell, and dreamed of that domestic life as Lord of Winterfell, as a Stark, and Sansa, the Key to the North, could give him that - the same way her marrying Jon who’s actually a prince would be fulfilling her childhood dream as well. They both get what they want in the way they least expect it, something very GRRM-esque. There’s the narrative convenience of R+L=J that would allow for some catharsis once Jon realises he’s not her half-brother, and the convenience of them being the only Starks to not have an established relationship beforehand. But despite that, whenever they do think of the other in the books, it’s never with any resentment, contrary to popular belief, they don’t hate each other(they think of each other fondly, even). It’s something that could work politically in show!verse just as well, say word gets out that Jon’s a Targaryen, the Northern lords would never accept him unless Sansa brokers a political marriage to tame them.

History would also be repeating itself in a poetic way, but done right this time. Jon and Sansa marrying would parallel Ned x Cat, they each parallel them so much and S7 has hammered those visual parallels more than ever. A Stark would be wedding a Tully. And if you embraced Jon as a Targaryen, then they would parallel Rhaegar and Lyanna in a sense too by having a Targaryen prince wed a Stark lady. It also nicely twists what happened to Cersei, where she was supposed to marry a Targaryen prince(Rhaegar) but ends up marrying a Baratheon(Robert) - Sansa was betrothed to Joffrey Baratheon, but would be marrying a Targaryen prince in Jon, which only adds another layer to her being the YMBQ from Cersei’s prophecy if you subscribe to that!

Complementary Storylines

If you take a closer look at Jon and Sansa’s arcs, they tend to echo off of each other, always linking the two through themes, yet the author does a great deal to ensure they’re the last two Starks we ever associate with each other which honestly, would be something he’d do if he meant to pull them marrying as a huge plot twist no one would expect. But thematically, both Jon and Sansa:

start their arcs as naive,

are the Starks most interested in leaving WF - Jon goes to the Wall where he assumes the men are ideal knights, and Sansa journeys South with romanticised ideas of court, and both characters are quickly disappointed.

Jon gets dubbed “crow” for most of his arc, the same way Sansa gets dubbed “little bird/dove”.

Both characters at the same time, have to pretend to be something they’re not around their enemies - Jon going undercover as a Wildling, while Sansa had to blend in with the Lannisters.

They both get dubbed traitor around the same time too, Jon’s seen as a traitor for leaving the Wildlilngs while Sansa gets dubbed traitor/murderer once they thought she poisoned Joffrey as she leaves KL.

Jon who starts off as a bastard, rises to the title of Lord Commander at the Nights Watch the same time Sansa, who starts off as a Lady, gets forced to pose as Littlefinger’s bastard daughter.

It’s the same case on the show, and there’s reason enough to believe Jon and Sansa will be the first Starks to reunite in the books and reclaim Winterfell as well(though the circumstances may be different, it’s heavily foreshadowed in Sansa’s final ASOS chapter).

Complementary Dreams

GRRM has a weird way of connecting these two through their shared dreams. Where Sansa’s final chapter in ASOS heavily foreshadows that she’ll come to rebuild Winterfell with Jon(and she already goes onto do this on the show with Jon), Jon is also the only other Stark to think of reclaiming and rebuilding it, and this occurs in the same book. They’re both weirdly also the only Stark kids to be referred to as the Blood of Winterfell. ASOS(the 3rd book in the series) is also where both these characters start to undergo a sexual awakening(Ygritte’s attempts with Jon, and Sansa coming into her own body and developing).

It’s the same book where Jon considers having a son of his own, thinking he could name him after Robb, and Sansa thinks of giving her betrothed children, noting that in her dreams her children looked like the brothers she had lost and that she wants to name them Eddard and Brandon and Rickon(after the brothers she’s lost). So yes, while that sounds very odd, these two coming together would actually be giving each other what they long for in a family, children who look like named after their pack. Once you remember that book wise, Jon looks like a carbon copy of Ned and Sansa looks like a more beautiful version of Catelyn then you could only assume their children would look very much like the siblings they grew up with too.

It’s actually strange how alike they are and how their arcs tend to echo off of each other but it even comes down to the same romanticised idea of courtship. Sansa remembers the rose Loras gave to her during the Hand’s Tourney, and when met with the prospect of marrying Willas, starts fantasising of sitting with her lord husband in a garden. Lo and behold, a couple chapters later Jon thinks of showing Ygritte Winterfell, and plucking a flower for her from Winterfell’s glass garden. In other words… they would be perfect together.

Their first loves are stand-ins for each other

Ygritte could actually be seen as a foreshadowing for Sansa, namely because so many of her traits are things we’ve come to associate with the latter but GRRM makes a point to keep this out of Jon’s subconscious in his POV chapters. First in the choice of words in her description, her red hair, her blue-grey eyes(sansa’s eyes are blue), but people tend to stop right there and use it as an excuse to mock the idea of Jon x Sansa immediately which honestly, is lazy. It goes deeper than that. Ygritte weeps when she sings and hears the song of the last of giants, and she’s known to favour songs and tales - things we again associate with Sansa. There’s also the instance of her telling Jon Snow that she’s “half a fish” which seems to nod at the fact that Sansa’s basically half a fish too(Half Tully). Strangely, right after Ygritte words out her famous line “You know nothing, Jon Snow,” in Sansa’s chapter, Sansa sees Margaery’s cousins and comments that “they know nothing,” on their naivety. When Jon gets stabbed, the line is again associated with Sansa in his final thoughts:

“Of Sansa, brushing out Lady’s coat and singing to herself. You know nothing, Jon Snow. ”

In Sansa’s case, her first love(crush, really) was a man of the Night’s watch named Waymar Royce(“She had fallen wildly in love with Ser Waymar,”) - who is described as grey-eyed, graceful and slender the same way Jon is first described in AGOT as having grey eyes, being graceful and being slender. The connection between Waymar Royce and Jon Snow is further strengthened in the fact that Waymar(who appears in the very first prologue of the first book) death foreshadows Jon’s death.

Other parallels and easter eggs

There are other ways GRRM’s linked the two in his novels through easter eggs too, for e.g. Sansa calls out for the heroes she knows, calling for Prince Aemon the Dragonknight(from the songs), and then we get a flashback of Jon remembering how he’d play with Robb in the field and pretend to be Prince Aemon the Dragonknight. Sansa also wishes someone would behead Janos Slynt, and Jon goes onto do this in ADWD, unknowingly being the literal hero she asked for.

They both have a strong connection to the pomegranate symbolism, tying them both to the greek mythology of Persephone. And in terms of actual history, Jon and Sansa share heavy parallels with Henry Tudor and Elizabeth of York(who ended up joining their houses through marriage after the War of the Roses of which one of the main conflicts of GoT was based on).

There are plenty of other parallels throughout their chapters, one off instances of both characters put in the same environment or situation, more than I could count really. But what I personally find most odd is how some of their chapters completely mirror each other’s in terms of environment, theme and situation. Look to Jon and Sansa’s first and second ASOS chapters(that come right after the other’s) and you’ll find it’s almost like reading the same chapter twice. GRRM’s a man with words, it’s strange how similarly he words and crafts the environment he puts them in, unless he meant for their chapters to echo each other.

It’s not beyond GRRM

We know from his original outline that he intended for Jon and Arya to be the first Starks to reunite at the wall and struggle for non-platonic and very inappropriate feelings for each other which would torment them until Jon’s parentage is revealed in the final book - sounds not that far from what’s happened with Sansa tbh. Again, you have to remember that yes things have changed from the outline, Sansa was meant to choose Joffrey over her family, bore him children, then die, and none of that happened. Arya was also supposed to do a heck lot more in her storyline but what seems to happened is that GRRM knew he could never have Arya accomplish that much plot in so little time and so he might’ve split initial Arya into a fully fleshed version of Sansa, thus why Sansa and Arya are two sides of the same coin. It would also explain why while Arya looks like Lyanna, both sisters possess her traits and parallel her in their respective ways.

With Jonerys… listen… it’s just a doomed pairing. I was open to the idea but there are one too many kinks in it to have it be endgame not to mention Jonerys on the throne would completely go against the anti-war message ASOIAF has established. Not that doomed pairings have ever stopped me from shipping but they’re just so fundamentally different at this point that the idea of them just doesn’t work anymore(season 7′s rushed tryst was problematic and didn’t sell it to me either).

Additional Thoughts

I could drag on but these I think are some of the main points for me. There are a plethora of other reasons backing this up but yeah I think they have a solid chance. Points aside, I guess I also ship them because there is literally no man who’s a viable suitor for Sansa and her status, that could treat her how she deserves - show!Jon has proved himself worthy, and Sansa has fed him with the well deserved validation he’s needed and craved, acknowledgement of him being a Stark. They work so well together.

Jon is the only man in her arc who canonly has acknowledged that “Winterfell belongs to […] Sansa.” i.e. the only man who wouldn’t marry her for her claim. For a girl who came to the realisation that “No one will ever marry me for love.”(which was followed by Jon’s chapter right after btw), that’s a huge deal. A JonSa endgame would be done so out of political reasons but love would no doubt follow. He is the only man to respect her boundaries and treat her as a human being, to see her for more than just her beauty. You can comment a suitor in her arc she was involved with and I will be able to point out how it’s problematic and wouldn’t work for endgame, how Sansa deserves better. JonSa is my OTP because they genuinely and effortlessly are perfect for each other :)

And why should I be calling you dragon eggs, again? I’ll explain: you were all bestowed on me as a VERY VALUABLE gift, something I cherish and love and hold dear in my heart. You’re more precious than rubies, just one could buy ‘a ship to take (me) back to the Free Cities’ and all three would leave (me) a healthy woman for the rest of (my) life; and still I would never give any of you away for the biggest price in the world. You’ve been here with me and Dany on this amazing journey and I cannot believe we’re growing so much with you all at our side.

This is a thank you post. Not because I reached a certain number of followers (which I can barely believe I did no matter how big or small the number of digits), but because I owe you some love in return for the one you’ve given us both.

I am grateful to each and every one of you for various and diverse reasons and love you all equally. But some of you have stood out with open arms, ready to have me and Dany enter into your lives. And to those, I want to give a little bit of individual attention (this is in no particular order):

– Killian and the kids often tease her about her snoring (which she will vehemently deny) but in reality it’s one of his favorite things about her — it’s soft and non-intrusive, and frankly kind of adorable. – His favorite sleeping position with her is spooning (big spoon) so that he can fall asleep with his face buried in her hair.– Killian is usually the more laid-back parent of the two of them, tending to let the kids do as they please (within reason), with Emma being more the disciplinarian. But the kids know in the rare times when Killian cracks down he means serious business…– In verses where Emma meets an untimely death (sadly this verse exists) Killian does a near 180 flip and becomes borderline over-protective of his children — especially the girls— because they are the last remnants of his deceased wife and he can’t stand the thought of anything happening to them.– Killian bribed Granny into giving him her recipe for the perfect grilled cheese so that he could make them for Emma to offset his limited culinary expertise. He’s not to spread the secret on pain of death, and he doesn’t. – Killian often reads to Emma while they lay in bed together, as she finds the sound of his voice soothing.

Showering the girls with affection is much easier. – Davey doesn’t know it, but the Jolly Roger is entrusted to him in Killian’s will. – When Davey was little he almost drowned playing by the shore, and that terrible scare is the sole driving reason behind every Jones child being taught to swim from an early age, and wearing life jackets long passed the point of being embarrassing.– Davey is actually a nickname. His full name is William (an extension of Liam for both his uncles) David (grandfather) Jones.

Kara’s super long plot ideas list (taken from my old blog)

Verses I have that I realize I haven’t gotten to use much of, even though I’ve had this blog for over three years.

Take any of these ideas, CLAIM THEM AS YOURS, and I will stab you in the eye.

v: Une Rose Dans de le Nord (A Rose in the North)

I know that a bunch of other Margy’s have this verse but it’s a verse I had since I started this blog, Margaery’s brought to the North by her father to be a ward for House Stark, & is betrothed to Robb Stark. The idea is that since the Tyrell’s fought for the losing side each child after Willas was sent to a different place. Garlan to the Vale, Loras to The Storm Lands, & Margaery to the North.

v: The Reluctance of The Wolf. (forced marriage au)

Forced into marriage with one another. Margaery tries to make the best of her fate. Lady Catelyn is a joy and kind to her. Wonderful in every way. While Robb… Robb is cold to her. Margaery becomes scared that she is trapped in another loveless marriage and struggles to understand her cold & grim husband.

v: Westlander (a pun on outlander and a verse in the same vein.)

Margaery Tyrell went away on a trip to the northern area of modern day Westeros. The brunette was having a nice time until she awoke after a walk to find herself not where she had fallen asleep. The land she awoke in was covered with snow.

v: Cursed

When his daughter was born, Mace Tyrell had a big party. Unknown to him, one of the gifts his daughter was given was cursed by a witch across the sea. The child would wed, but each husband would die until one came that could break the curse.

When Mace found out about the curse it was already too late, Margaery had grown into a beautiful woman and he couldn’t stop himself from setting up her marriages.

Each one ends in tragedy.

Margaery returned to Highgarden and vowed to never marry again. After all… Who would want to marry a woman who was cursed?

v; don’t let yourself be hunted

When Margaery was a child she always knew there was something different about her, and her family. She always just thought it was odd that her father could influence those around him with a word, her grandmother’s plants never died, and her brothers… Well, Willas’ super memory and intelligence were next to none, and his ability to seemingly communicate with Animals, Garlan and his super strength, Loras and his agility, she wondered what her powers would be.

At nine the voices started. She could hear them even in her sleep, it was all so very loud and overwhelming, she just wanted it to stop, but it didn’t. It just got worse and louder, it wasn’t until later that she learned these voices were not in her head, they were in the heads of others. She also learned that she could feel other’s emotions as well and project her own on them. Margaery harnesses the powers of empathy and telepathy, her grandmother does her best to help her control it.

Her family is heavily involved in the Hellfire club, and Margaery didn’t have much of a choice, but to do the same. She has always admired the X-Men though and is considering switching sides.

v: Manners Maketh Woman.

Margaery was recruited to MI6 when she was 21 years old in the middle of her third year of college. She hadn’t even planned on being an agent, but now she can’t exactly get out of it. She discovers The Kingsman and works with them more times than she thought she would. She enjoys it, though she doesn’t always trust them especially since they are a rather secret organization.

Highgarden Raid: Highgarden is raided and burned by (the iron born or Dragons) In this Margaery loses a good portion of her family. Since this is a canon divergence ·the war of the five kings could still be going on.

Virgin Queen: Margaery marries Tommen, but he dies shortly after the union. With no heirs to the throne. (Myrcella is dead.) Margaery takes the throne for her own ruling as Queen after the small council decides that it’s the only way to keep the Tyrell’s in the fold. (Cersei dies shortly after Tommen)

Sansa Stark Verses (posted here to help mobile people)

A Caged Bird. Canon Compliant for season 1 to season 4 episode 2 and AGOT part way through ASOS.

A Vale Bastard Sansa assumes the identity of Alayne Stone and lives as Petyr Baelish’s daughter. Canon compliant ASOS - AFFC. Sub-verses: v: Snow Arrives. Jon Snow comes to the Vale and meets Alayne Stone.

Safe in Highgarden. Olenna’s plan goes through and Sansa marries Willas Tyrell. Sub-verses: v: shadowed life, Margaery helps Sansa dye her hair dark and smuggles her to Highgarden pretending to be a maid. She assumes the name of Alayne Flowers. As such, she grows closer to Willas.

When The Wolves Come Sansa has married Harry the Heir and strives to break the Bolton’s who are currently occupying her home alongside her husband so she can get it back. Follow’s Petyr’s book quote from here. “and you come out with your long auburn hair, clad in a maiden’s cloak of white and grey with a direwolf emblazoned on the back … why, every knight in the Vale will pledge his sword to win you back your birthright.” Sub-verses: Sansa takes back Winterfell with her husband. (He could die in battle or stay alive it is up to who I roleplay with.)

I Rise with My Red Hair. Sansa has been named Queen in The North. An honor that feels more like a curse. With Harrold dead, she vows to never marry again, unless it is for love. Knowing that in truth, love isn’t going to happen for her.

Modern Silks teenage!sansa stark in the modern world

alone together (private verse with suvicn) Sansa is close friends with Asher Forester. They are flirtatious with one another. Sansa and Joffrey roughly break up. Asher, makes his move.

This was once a quiet town (riverdale!verse) Sansa Stark’s family has lived in Riverdale all of her life. They live on the north side of town. She used to go to Greendale High because it was closer for her. She transferred in her freshman year. While her siblings are spread out in the school, Sansa is taken in by the cheerleaders. She’s always been a big fan of the sport and was happy enough to attempt a spot on the River Vixens. She was a normal girl until Jason Blossom’s death changed the town.

Disgraced Daughter (Vikings Verse)

Norway is home to many people and clans of Vikings. Sansa’s father Eddard Stark an Earl of a Village with a popular following. She had a mother, a few brothers, and a sister. She was supposed to marry King Joffrey of Sweden until he decided to try to take her father’s village into his kingdom. And in defending his Earldom, he was injured. Joffrey had his men capture him and blood eagled him. Joffrey broke off the engagement after this and married another woman. Sansa’s family was separated from her and she’s been on her own ever since. She came to Kattegat with only one handmaiden, Jeyne Poole, and only a few trunks. Queen Aslaug takes the girl in after learning her story and allows her to stay. Sansa is devoted to the Goddess Frigg as her mother was before her.

I Must Be Brave (Harry Potter Verse) A verse where Sansa is a Gryffindor in Hogwarts.
