#my characters#waiting on some info on the next commission so i indulged in ocs today bc i doubt i will have as much time for lil comics for a bit#deacon is so devoted hes like yeah i would kill for a deity that could easily kill anything himself but yknow teehee#and fulj just did you tell him you needed therapy also does he even know youd murder in his name#deacon caught red handed haha no of course i havent told him it should be obvious enough haha.... and its in his defense not his name :c#man really does have some issues but i love him so much and hes so devoted but like. unhealthily after a while#he does in fact need a chill pill and therapy but to be fair#ymber has needed therapy for centuries and yet he just bottles it all up and suffers so#its pretty unhealthy until they yell at each other one (1) time bc they are so insecure about things and get mad over very valid reasons#but then theyre like you know what that was necessary and i still want to stay by your side if you let me#and then fulj is like dude hey sorry you seem really happy did you fu- and ymber is like no please stop there we have not#fulj just squinting cause have not is very different than will not but whatever she doesnt wanna think about that with deacon involved ew#and eventually fulj is like hey ymber im sorry to say but i really do hate deacon and i dont even know why but he makes me uncomfortable#while deacon is just. in the room. hearing this and thinking how he knows she thinks hes weird but wow that wording hurts#and ymber doesnt wanna fill in memories better forgotten by fulj which she had forcefully removed#so he just says oh well his hair and clothing are black and you had someone in the past that you might see in him and its not a pleasant en#so you know maybe its that idk#and fulj is then WHATST i was rude to him for someone i cant even remember? lame im gonna try SO HARD to be nice to him now#and deacon just still sitting there with some food like this is v awkward and i wish i could not be here for it#and later he asks ymber about who he resembled and as ymber is descibing her it clicks in deacons head and he gets really sad#that he might somehow remind fulj of the woman she loved before she was punished for loving a mortal#and he feels kinda bad pestering her so much with his curiosities about deities and he kinda gets it#the fact hes close to ymber might remind her at the core that she was once that close with a mortal if not closer#anyway story time in the tags again#im so obsessed with these peeps and i have made them suffer so much but they do all end on a happy note#its still funny and nice to me that while fulj is creeped out by deacon and doesnt like talking to him#he still expresses the most emotions to her - he tries hard to remain serious around ymber and collected and obedient at all times#and when out and about with ymber he has to be intimidating and refuses smiling but fulj?? all sunshine and smiles and emotions easy to rea#and she is just that is so weird go away i hate you

i have a very peculiar life where i've often, due to chronic illness and the resulting reclusive tendencies from said illness, just plain not associated with people of my own age on a regular basis for months or years at a time. but when i do go out, i'm, like, not an unattractive or socially unsuccessful person. well i'm not necessarily socially successful but i'm not unattractive. and i'll look back on like a certain period sometimes and realize that i had a lot of people trying to pursue me romantically, and i'm like "hey what happened to that? its been such a long while since anybody asked me out........."

#at my work i am the kid between kids#i am DEFINITELY too young to be considered to strike up a workplace tryst with lol. at least relative to my coworkers#most of my coworkers are women anyway#im one of the only 20-somethings who works in the entire district too.#tales from diana#not necessarily to say that i desire to be asked out in fact im very uncomfortable w it naturally. as an aroace person#who only ever has the pleasure of letting people down.#when i was a teenager though (especially before i realized i was aroace) no one ever asked me out#i felt very undesirable/unnoticed bc of it. in retrospect ppl did find me cute they just didnt talk to me.#i was kind of unapproachable. if i want to be really cruel to my teenage self then i could call her a pariah.#whatever ppl thought of me... nobody talked to me. and i never talked. plain and simple#then i entered the young adult world and it felt like everywhere i went there would be some man i hardly knew#asking me out when he had just learned my name. very strange to me!#im like why should you do that? i realize it's bc these men want a girlfriend#& they see me & i seem pretty & nice enough. theyre just like 'she will do'#no i wont! lol#sometimes i think like 'have i changed? that hasnt happened in quite awhile'#yes that kind of thing has ceased to happen since ive ceased to hang out w new ppl.#in the past year especially ive made more deliberate attempts to extricate myself from various social spheres#and i dont see really anyone socially except for some friends ive had for years.#if one of them were to suddenly express romantic interest in me. well. boy would that shake things up! lol#they know me though. they know i dont love.

Alastor
The smell of blood draws alastor to your room, hes a little worried that you're hurt, but its nothing he cant fix. As he enters your room, and sees you curled up in the fetal position he goes and sits next to you
"Darling, whats the matter? It's a wonderful day and you're spending it in bed! I believe Charlie is baking cookies! You-"
"go away alastor. i'm on my period."
"Well why didnt you say so!"
Alastor disappears into his shadow, and returns a few minutes later with a hot water bottle, a bottle of cold water, some pain meds and dark chocolate. He throws the items on your bed and smiles at you expectingly. You shoot him back a smile of appreciation. Even tho alastor and you had your moments, he's still a good friend when he needs to be.
Lucifer
Lucifer has a crush on you, and its no secret either. Every day he sits next to you during breakfast, he always makes sure you eat enough. He always does Charlie's silly little trust exercises with you, just being in your vicinity makes him happy. When you dont come down for breakfast, he gets worried, he made your favourite for you- pancakes! He decides to take some to your room. When he enters, and sees you curled up on the bed, he sits the tray of pancakes on your bedside table and sits next to you
"Hey, you didnt come down for breakfast, are you okay??"
you shake your head no, and he seems really concerned. He hates seeing you in pain, its horrible. Suddenly he remembers something- lillith acted like this when she first came to hell, periods. In the garden of eden, lilliths periods didnt hurt her, but as soon as she came to hell, it felt like her uterus was stabbing her, luckily luci fixed it
"Can i help?"
You stare up at him, eyes slightly watering from the pain and nod your head, anything to get rid of this. Luci carefully peels back your blanket and rests his hands on your groin, you shiver at the feeling of his warm hands, its nice. Theres a bright glow of golden light, and suddenly, the pains gone, the period pain at least, you still have a headache, and you're still pretty exhausted. You pull luci into a hug, he hugs back, giving you a kiss on the head
"Want me to run you a bath, sweetheart?"
"Yes please"
Lucifer hops up and heads into your ensuite, he starts a bath, making sure to get some really nice smelling soap and bath salts. He puts some rose petals in the tub to make it look pretty, and a couple of rubber duckies. Lucifer cares so much, hes so sweet.
Adam
Adam doesn't really understand the whole 'periods thing'. They didn't have them in heaven, so he doesn't really know what to do when you wake up grabbing your stomach. He pulls out his phone and decides to have a look online to see if there's anything he can get that will help, theres products from the vee's, but he doesnt trust those fuckers. He scrolls across an article that says orgasms can help with period cramps. When adam first shoots the idea at you, you're hesitant, period sex isnt something you've done before, and it seems a little scary, but you let him. He puts a towel under the both of you, and he makes sure that you 100% wanna do this before he gets started. When you guys have done, your pains are pretty much gone. he pulls you on top of him and you just lay there for awhile, enjoying the warmth from adams soft belly <3
Husk
Husk isn't too educated with this stuff either, but he knows how to take care of someone when they're sick. He doesn't realise you have your period at first, he just thinks it's a stomach bug. He gets you some chicken noodle soup and a few painkillers, when you explain to him that you have no appetite because of how bad the pain is, it suddenly clicks in his brain what's happening. He gives you a small kiss on the forehead, then walks out. He goes to charlie asking for help, she gathers together a basket full of snacks, pads, tampons, a menstrual cup, period underwear, hot water bottle with a cute cat cover and some noise cancelling headphones, in case things get overwhelming. Husk brings it back to you and lets you snuggle into him, something he doesn't allow very often. You spend the next few days cuddled up in bed, playing with husks ears watching movies. He helps you when you need to shower, and also keeps your hot water bottle hot. he just really enjoys taking care of you, not that he'd admit that

he's from around where the deepsea metro is/was. had to leave because of unstable surroundings from an unknown to him cause. he's best friends with Rust and her kids, im gonna be honest i haven't actually thought through how they met and ive just realized this oops. since he spent most of his life underground and now lives in the splatlands he gets sunburnt way too frequently to not be covered up constantly, though he wears thing like tank tops and shorts during splatfest since those mostly occur during the night.
He met wisteria and ember first and then 72. they didnt apoint him as leader nor do they really care to have one but he's the tallest so everyone assumes its him. he's the most softspoken out of the 4 of them but thats a really low bar, he has a hard time making decisions but once he does he will die on that hill
(since its not on his ref like the other three)
72 escaped the metro before agent 8 went through it, he had found a memcake that was dropped after a test giving him just a clear enough mind to think for himself some. he ended up finding his way out after a while of accumulating a couple more memcakes, barely any where his though so hes walking around with memories that aren't his. It also took him a while to get used to the fact he isnt a soldier nor a test subject anymore. If he saw another sanitized mollusk he'd probably hide or run away </3.
72 met Ghost while after wandering around the area for a while, and ended up crashing in his car the whole time on ghosts way back to the splatlands (he thought 72 was like, drunk or something since he was tumbling around and seemed to be not the most coherent). he doesnt blink or breath unless hes actively thinking about it :[.
he had a hard time discerning things for a while but hes gotten better, at first he thought ember was just a weird octoling because she wears the old octoling goggles. we beat the evil soap with friendship in this house!!!
personality wise hes pretty hyper and cheerful which isnt usually your first thought upon seeing a zombie, forgot his age but hes an adult, he was encouraged to pick his own birthday :]

She's a callie superfan with a vulgar sense of humor, usually the one who purposefully makes other players angry. born and raised in the splatlands she knows all the places to hide and get you lost in.
he's been friends with ember the longest, they where online friends until ember moved to splatsville. was introduced to ghost and 72 later by ember, he likes to antagonize 72 (think sibling antagonizing, theyre both in on it). down to fist fight you in the back of a waffle house

Ember's both a video game and turf/anarchy streamer, she has camera in their goggles for the latter. bad habit of talking in twitch/internet lingo outside of streaming. Once she has eyes on something its nearly impossible to get her to do something else. Very friendly outside fighting, will give you nice words and a pat on the back after a game whether they won or not.
met ghost while playing turf war in a random que, he was, in her words, "a bit to intense to be playing in turf" and told him after the game that he should try out anarchy, he was scared of it since he was new to the area. they ended up teaming up and playing a couple games together, later inviting wisteria and eventually 72.
theres def more to these guys but it will take me a long time to get the words in my head to cooperate 🙏im better at answering specific questions about things then coming up with what to write myself

thinking more thoughts about vampire yuucho 🤓
in this au i think yuu would be a barmaid eventually turned Regular Maid lol. the first time she encounters the matsunovs its closing up and walking home and everyone (but especially choro) gives her the Stare from the shadows of an alleyway while shes just like 🚶♀️💨
they keep having Almost Interactions in the dead of night and it kind of freaks her out. finally choro cant take it anymore and drops off a letter at her door... yuu finds it in the morning and its a call for a live in housekeeper........! the specifications are pretty vague - whoever sent this is just looking for someone to keep the place clean while the owners take a trip overseas for an extended period of time. seems a little sus but the pay is well over twice what she makes at the bar AND no more close calls walking home in the middle of the night?! so she's like lmaooooo bye and packs up her stuff and arrives at... matsunov manor.
just like the letter said it appears there's nobody here - but it does look lived in so it probably wasn't a trick...? since there's no one else there it's pretty easy to finish her chore list every day and still have time to go out to town for a few hours every day. falling into a daily routine comes easily, and she sleeps soundly enough at night that she doesn't notice the sounds of someone (or something) moving around at night... but it does bother her that sometimes she wakes up and things look like they've been messed with overnight. but that's just her imagination right? her pay always arrives on time, and the manor has nice amenities, so she can't bring herself to quit... she keeps trying to convince herself that she's definitely here by herself...
until one night, where she wakes up well past midnight and wants a glass of water. she makes her way through the maze of hallways and staircases that lead to the kitchen. where she finds.....
not one, but five men hanging out in one of the lounges 😨 and she can see that they've all got prominent fangs and pointed ears... cue huge freakout and her trying to fight them all in a cartoonish chase sequence. eventually they all grab hold of her and are like WE CAN EXPLAIN and she's losing her shit because THERE ARE VAMPIRES HOLDING ME DOWN AND THEYRE SO FAWKING STRONG HELLO? ARE THEY GOING TO SUCK ALL MY BLOOD? HELPPPP
they all blame it on choro immediately lmfao. he steps out from a dark corner in the room and sheepishly explains that he wanted to get to know her better, totally not eat her, and he couldn't think of a better way to do it since he can't go out in the daytime 🤦♀️
the whole scenario is so unbelievable all yuu can ask is "so the owners aren't away traveling?" and the matsunovs are like erm... we're the owners. this is our house. "and... you definitely aren't going to kill me or suck my blood...?" we were going to at first but this place was lowkey a disaster until you showed up and choromatiu likes you so if anyone sucks your blood it's gonna him. "EXCUSE ME"
all that and she doesn't leave tho. bc the pay is too good. she's simply accepted her fate as the live in housekeeper/plaything to the local vampire family. she starts doing some of the housework at night so they can get to know her better. also she cant stop staring at choro now that she knows hes into her

hmmm depends on why the darling is frightened tbh are they always afraid or is this started after cerelos took them the first time? i do imagine he'd be pretty upset and even offended, though he won't outwardly show his feelings. he'd probably start ordering the servants to disappear whenever the darling is in sight, be invisible, to further isolate them, to force them either to face their loneliness and/or accept cerelos as their emperor and husband. since humans are in nature social, they'd naturally long for some form of company and possibly some skin to skin contact.
in short, since the coecrced sex doesn't seem to do enough, cerelos would've likely infict some psychological damages on his darling to force them to accept him. he wouldn't be…physically abusive, no, but he will emotionally and mentally cripple his darling without relying on cruel words and uses some amount of gaslighting.
regardless, you will only have him and you will love him. he is, after all, your emperor and husband. why wouldn't you embrace him and his power?

saw the new hunger games
spoilers under cut
that was pretty bad. there were a lot of things wrong with it so i theoretically have a lot to complain about but it was such a dumb fucking movie im not as energized as id usually be to talk about it. ill be quick
this movie had all the elements it needed to succeed and totally fucked it. the goals:
-create a convincing and interesting backstory for President Snow
-show how the games were transformed into a spectacle
these goals were made explicit both in the marketing and through diegetic speeches within the movie. the premise of the story is that a young Snow serves as a mentor to a singer from district 12. she is the “songbird” to his “snake”…. pretty natural evolution from there to see how snow can make her into a celebrity and give Panem a good show. that had to have been the pitch to get this movie through the board. it’s a shame the movie just… does not follow through with it LOL. like thats blatantly the direction it seems to be going in for the first part of the movie. but the spectacle aspect gets completely buried because the capitol - who INSTRUCTED snow to make it into a show - keeps snubbing him and keeping him from acting. the “press tour” that was such a big deal in all the original hunger games is like two days in universe and about five minutes on the screen. completely overshadowed. there’s no camp or glamour. snow is just not a stunt queen here and i think that’s a shame.
ok, so if the movie doesnt really show how the hunger games became a spectacle, what does it show?
i really couldn’t tell you. the games themselves are uneventful. the tenth annual games are set in what’s basically a parking garage, LOL. it’s a very dismal and marvel-esque set. there’s a real sense in this movie that the capital is still finding its stride and that a lot of things aren’t working for it just yet. the failing drones and the awkwardness of the announcer (this version’s caesar flickman) are nice touches, i really enjoyed them. but i dont think “the capitol is still finding its footing” is a good enough excuse to justify how shitty this year’s game was. excruciatingly boring, like they have no concept of history or the standard that the previous movies set. we all remember the clockwork arena.
so it’s not about the games, so i guess it’s about snow and his tribute lucy?
well that sucks! they’re horrible characters, my god.
lucy is the worst offender. i know rachel zegler was a victim of conservative harassment recently so i feel a little bad to be trashing her performance. i genuinely dont know if its the fault of her or the script, but whatever it is, the effect is awful. genuinely reads like a parody of a wattpad protagonist. we are given that she is a singer. there is no substance to her besides that. she’s corny. she feels out of place in this setting and not in any charming way, its just annoying and off putting. kind of a manic pixie dream girl to snow. i think its very misogynist honestly? dont write women this way, she’s barely human.
snow is easier to watch and a more likable personality in my eyes, but he’s no better written. whereas lucy has no internal world, the inner workings of snow’s mind fold in on themselves. the movie swears that his motives make sense, that they aren’t confused, but they very obviously are. his allegiances and morals change on a dime. they cant decide whether hes sympathetic or if he is a young president snow and he can seemingly only be one at a time. i honestly got whiplash watching it go down. in fairness, its not like the movie doesnt try to offer motivation for the switches. theyre just not very good or convincing and its not enough to make me forgive them.
so the movie failed at what it set out to do. what else did it fail at? what did it actually do well? i will leave the rest of this review to explain, as well as some changes that i would have made had i been in charge.
the bad:
-pacing was off. movie did not need to be that long, many shots went on longer than they had to.
-costuming was also pretty bad. some of the tributes were wearing shein and fake jewelry
-lucy escapes the arena not only alive but UNINJURED? peeta and katniss didnt get that. she was surrounded by rebar and murder and snow walked away w more injuries than her. insane plot armor. really dumb.
-there was a human zoo in this movie. in general im really conflicted about this “aracial” Panem. i know its a difficult subject to breach and im not sure what the alternative would be, but there’s something really fucked up about seeing a human zoo, a black child being hung, many of the tributes being people of color, and all of this being brushed over as if their race doesnt really matter and theres no larger historical context in which this movie exists. also this movie is loosely set in the 50s/60s. likewise making the Gamemaster a black woman. im not sure how i feel about it but i think more care shouldve been devoted to the handling of race in this movie.
-there are a couple scenes where an old analog tv is playing and its really obvious they added the scan lines in post-production. looks stupid as fuck. you couldve just used an actual analog tv.
-the rabies scene. lmfao. also i dont think thats how rat poison works but i could be wrong.
-a lot of the action sequences are very dumb and dont make sense. they build suspense and dont do anything to overcome it gracefully. this is really obvious when snow is trying to get his handkerchief into the snake pit without being seen and so he just…. walks over and does it LOL. and doesnt get caught or have to sneak really cause of plot armor. the arena has a lot of kids wandering around or hiding in places where it makes no sense for them to be, they kinda just wander on screen when its time for their cue and only get killed as needed, because someone else got their cue. no gravity or substance.
-lucy and snow’s performances arent just bad, they come across as anachronistic within the retrofuturist 50s setting. as my friend said they have “tiktok face”. theyre too contemporary for my taste
-snow looks like a skinhead towards the end and i dont like it
-arena sucked
-the hanging tree scene was soooo stupid. so was the katniss namedrop. made me wish i was watching a better movie.
-the movie didnt deserve to go on long diegetic speeches about its own themes. i guess im glad, cause i wouldnt have known what the fuck it was trying to do otherwise, but nothing that happened in the story supported what they were saying. sloppy.
the good:
-lucy’s dress was very pretty
-huge credit to the set designers who worked on the control room and the capitol. i see the retro futurist aesthetic you were going for and i appreciate it. mostly a good job, im sure if they let you into the arena you would’ve gave us something better.
-hunter schafer really sold it. i loved her performance even with what little screentime she had. brought some much needed warmth and humanity to this empty ass movie. my favorite character, easily. release the schafer cut.
-like i said, i thought the announcer’s performance was pretty good as well. i feel like jason schwartzman had a better understanding of the theme of “spectacle” within this movie than anyone else.
-i guess the lab was cool? the snakes definitely paled in comparison to other mutts in the series, but they were cool enough. i liked the scene where his classmate got poisoned.
-peter dinklage constantly sneaking hits of morphine was funny as fuck.
changes:
if you asked me the one thing i would change to fix this movie, it would be any traces of the romance subplot. remove any traces of snow being a nice person. i would have preferred the mentor/tribute relationship to be shown as explicitly and inherently exploitative, because it is! you know damn well there was never any hope for them to be in a healthy relationship for as long as snow was loyal to the capitol. and the writers valued this relationship so much that to save it, they had snow rebel? president snow? the love story, the conflict that snow feels, its all so fucking trite and overblown. it didnt need to be there. just portray it straightforwardly, with snow being a charming person but never kind or counterculture enough to really risk lacy over the system. he should have been eviler and more clearly identifiable as his older self, because this version does not cut it. i hate a fake sympathetic bitch
-lacy shouldnt have won. doesnt that ruin the continuity established by the past books? just kill her in the arena. that had to have been in the drafts right? everything that happened after the arena was really convoluted and stupid and failing. lucy dies, wow so sad, i hate when girls die, but i sure did learn about show biz. that was my president snow impression, if you couldnt tell. that was from a better version of this movie.
-it wouldve been cool if instead of lucy being essentially a tiktoker, she had the personality of an early hollywood icon. kind of a judy garland figure. wouldve fit into the setting better and been more original as a concept.

For your Runaway Bride AU, it seems pretty obvious that Sun & Moon will fall completely in love with reader and reader will fall in love with them.
Especially seeing how speechless both Sun & Moon were in seeing how gorgeous they thought reader is, even though she was crying, hurt and in a torn up dress. The setup made it almost seem like “it was love at first sight for them” which, to me, helped made it seem like a big factor in why they wanted to help protect reader and be okay with marrying her immediately (even though they were most likely already programmed to just be nice in general). A quick setting of them first becoming acquaintances to growing into friends to become real lovers sort of situation and honestly I’m just eating ALL that up.
But I do wonder in who will fall in love first of the three? (Honestly, I think it will be tie between Sun or Moon first; but it would funny if it was actually reader who fell first for a change.) Will William try to do something horrible to Sun & Moon; or threaten them or their shop to get them to divorce reader? Or will he try to threaten reader to void her married to Sun & Moon just so he can try to force her to marry him instead? (Knowing how much everyone hates Afton in the fandom I wouldn’t put it pass him to try and go dirty to try to get what he wants. But then again, he just sounds like a big annoy jerk of a CEO then a mob boss honestly.) Will the “Afton virus” be part of this AU or (hopefully) not?
*Le gasped!* Will her MOTHER find her and try to force her to void her marriage to Sun & Moon or will she actually apologize for the pain and misery she put her daughter through for greed?

I should Say, Sun and Moon don't really care too much about looks. Theyre strong believers in don't judge a book by its cover. But they're very good at reading the kind of energy people give off. Yknow how you can just tell someone is snooty, or really nice just by the way they carry themselves? It certainly started as a form of pity for someone clearly in distress, but I'd say after y/n came out of hiding and immediately tried to help clean up the mess, thats when Sun and Moon REALLY got a read for who they are, and it struck them in a way neither expected.
And all the theories are an absolute TREAT to read!!!! Im eating up your theories like candy after halloween!!!
Funny enough there IS an answer to who falls in love first (or at least who REALIZES They're in love first). I could even tell you the exact MOMENT they realize it

hey cee I think I’m aLso in my smitten!yn era
there’s this guy I met last year and he’s the sweetest dorkiest funniest darling ever and I think we get along really well. he lives quite far away so we’ve been facetiming a lot and (since we both play violin) sometimes we’ll call each other while we’re practicing and give each other feedback, or sometimes just listen to music and vibe and it’s the best thing ever. we also have a lot of inside jokes and we even have matching zebra plushies!! I just really really like him.
but he just told me like last week when we were calling that he was gonna go to his one friend’s graduation that’s happening on the 13th (and I think he’s traveling early to see her).
I have a feeling that he really likes her bc he always talks about how her siblings are like his own brothers and they just get along so nicely. this girl is also like the sweetest prettiest smartest person and she’s so nice and I also know her fairly well, so I could never wish ill on her bc she’s just,,,so so wonderful.
he’s also mentioned briefly that they had some sort of argument or falling out last fall (he didn’t seem to want to tell me so I didn’t push it) and that was when he kind of just shut off and didn’t answer to my texts or anyone else’s. so he plans to go to her house and surprise her and he seemed really excited about it (she had just texted him telling him they needed to ‘talk’—im assuming theyre gonna work out whatever’s been going on).
so I’m just kind of conflicted and sad bc for one I kind of feel like I’m living in someone else’s romcom—they really do have the perfect setup and deep down I know they’d be great together. I do feel like a second lead or whatever lmao. also he’s four years older than me and we just might be on different paths in life.
I’m just choosing to be happy for him and hope that he and the girl work out their disagreement or whatever happened between them, and that he has a lot of fun surprising her for the graduation. I know I’m probably just a friend to him and whatever I think is just in my head.

ever since my breakup i've been operating with the 'the universe will always lead me to where i need to be' mindset and just trusting the process and i think that if ur in ur smitten era you should also trust this mindset -- if you are not meant to be with this person, it just means that there's someone else out there who you haven't met yet that will think YOU are the sweetest kindest smartest person they've ever had the pleasure of knowing. we do not chase after people who don't want us and as hard as it was for me to understand this point (and tbh i'm still working on this) our self-worth and value is dependant on ourselves and nobody else. just because the person you like potentially may not like you back does not mean that you are not good enough or pretty enough or smart enough, i always chalk it up to a compatibility issue! and why the heck would you want to be with someone you aren't compatible with romantically!!! gosh darn it!!!! everyone needs to STAND UP i want everyone in this room to tell me what they love about themselves nAAoOWW
but also yes depending on how old you are a four year age difference is significant because like 18 and 22 or 19 and 23 for example are both SUCH different foundational ages (recently found out my ex just started dating a 19 year old and it skeeved me out a little so maybe i'm just biased) so you can be sad about this for as long as you need to but just know that perhaps this is for the best and you will find someone more compatible

JJK S2 Livewatch: Eps 5-7
the watch continues! Ep 5 acts as a sort of coda to the previous arc, and then we return to the present time for eps 6 and beyond. honestly that surprised me - part of the fun of going blind into a series that you heard mutterings about but don't know details is seeing where you have weird impressions for no reason. I thought the flashback arc was going to be more substantial - like half this whole season. joke's on me, I guess, but it's fine.
Ep 5 continues going extremely hard and unsubtle on the imagery. Like 15 minutes are devoted to showing just how traumatized Geto is. Everywhere he goes, a part of him is back in that audience room, hearing the cultists cheer. The show uses audio and visual cues to indicate this to the audience - windows act like TV sets and display scenes from the past, the sound of rainfall is swapped out for the sounds of applause. I'd be quite interested to know how the manga conveyed it, because these all seem like flourishes distinct to the adaptation, which I appreciate. Eventually we get to the moment of Geto's final choice, with the light flickering his shadow into two versions of him that he could become, he fully becomes a villain and massacres the town.
Honestly, while I did feel the ep was great, if I do have a complaint it did feel like the whole thing happened way too fast. I didn't question my assumption that the flashback was going to be longer last time because it seemed like there was a long way to go for Geto to become the self he was by the movie, but in the end it felt pretty abrupt. He struggles for a while with inner doubts then decides he will be the kind of person to commit mass murder, and then does. It's a little weak for a villain arc.
What's not weak is the scene where Gojo confronts Geto, though. My favorite bit is how they have their argument in the middle of a crowded street. The way passerby are going about their day, pushing the two aside, really emphasizes the whole thing - because the everyday civilians can ignore the sorcerers, can walk right past them as if they are in a different world entirely, but they aren't. theyre right there, and their presence is very clearly what the whole fight is about. One of my favorite scenes.
I liked the scene right before where Geto talks with Shouko a bit less, though. Apparently she doesn't go on missions? I'm curious what her deal is. Anyway. Feels like she didn't get enough screentime for me to understand her relevance or her importance to the other characters. Between her and Tsukumo, both of the relevant female characters in this ep only have screentime so that they can show up and ask the main men about their feelings. The "proud" shonen tradition of strict gender roles in action I suppose.
Overall while I have some issues with the pacing, and think the flashback needed some more substance to make us really feel the change in Gojo and Geto, I still liked ep 5.
Ep 6 brings us back to the present, but not fully into the main plot just yet. First we have a brief interlude where the main trio meet at a cafe, along with an old classmate of Yuji's. Going to be real, I had forgotten what the personalities of these three even were, so it was nice to have a relaxed refresher before jumping into the main event. That is the main purpose of this little event, I think, a bit of a tone cleanser to break up the melancholy flashback and the action-heavy present time. It's also good to get glimpses of the lives of the protagonists from before they entered the story - little bits of characterization can go a long way.
As for the battle that follows, I have mixed feelings. It did have the kind of overly flashy fight style that I disliked in S1. However, the fact that the guy brought out a whole mecha does make it seem warranted this time. It didn't really grab me as a fight, but probably if it had been less dramatic I would have thought it had fallen flat.
The fact that I rambled for so much longer about ep 5 alone than the next two eps combined is probably a bad sign, I think. I just find the present day plot less interesting than the flashback was. But I'd rather be optimistic, the show still has plenty of time left to change my mind.

i saw some people talk lately abt who would get abnormality dancin girl in pjsk and i get why most people say n25 should have it because of mafuyu.. uhhh nah i disagree heavily on that one

like most people say the song should go to mafuyu but it doesnt work for her at all imo, shes not getting rid of her nice girl persona because its like a safety net for her she can fall back on [im not sure how to explain what i mean here exactly but you get the point], if anything many parts would fit ena more especially the ones about feeling like youre average at best at anything you do, but even then the rest of the song doesnt really work besides that. some parts may fit mizuki better as well, rejecting normality etc. but definetly not mafuyu
since the song has a pretty clear theme of school the obvious group would be l/n, which i think somehow works! they got the lost ones weeping already which deals with similar stuff as this song, tho im not sure how well the lyrics fit them exactly.. the sound of the song in itself definetly fits them imo, i could see it being another ichika and shiho cover maybe [i just love their voices together sorry im biased]
my next best pick would probably be vbs tho, an and akito seem to work pretty well since theyre not doing the best at school and often mention how tired of it they are, im not sure if the sound of the song itself fits them that well but i can definetly see it. the theme of feeling like youre never good enough work wonderfully for them as well, most clearly for akito but an deals with that too.. but even then i dont feel like the lyrics themselves fit them that well, but thats kind of the case for every group when i really think about it, the parts about going absolutely bonkers insane is especially difficult to place for me
i also saw someone say they can see wxs covering this one which i didnt even think about tbh.. i can kind of see certain lyrics fitting tsukasa, especially with the context of whatever the hell was going on with him in his latest focus event..a lot of them fit rui as well, the theme of rejecting being perceived as normal works with him just as well as it works for mizuki, tbh i can even see nene singing it somewhat, but im not sure about the sound of the song.. doesnt really have a wxs vibe but thats not a huge issue

its so hard being around my dad and his wife and my grandma for any extended amount of time. tldr theyre the type who keep fox news on in the background 24/7.
my stepmoms friend spent a few evenings here and at some point the topic of trans ppl came up and the moment i mentioned im non binary, my stepmoms friend was in my corner and being much more firm about correcting them than i can get away with (i cant be firm or i get accused of "being aggressive" or "not being understanding" that they're "from another time"). she did more advocating for me in a singular hour than my dad or my grandma have ever done for me at all while ive been in their presence since i first came out to them. (id like to believe that they advocate for me when i cant hear them but the odds are probably pretty low. but never zero, i guess.)
its such a weird thing to think about. i am completely confident that they love me unconditionally, but they're also the ONLY people left that have any importance in my life who just can't seem to get the damn pronouns right. i dont mean that they slip up constantly , i mean that they just dont even seem to bother. "this is my daughter" "my granddaughter is here visiting" "shes hoping to see an alligator" "can you send me that picture you took of her" like theres no pause, no attempt to even try to use they/them or non-gendered language, not as far as i can tell anyway. the most ive ever gotten was my grandma sending me a birthday card last year with the "granddaughter" printed inside scratched out and corrected to "grandchild". which was really nice!!! i genuinely did appreciate it!!! i told her that it meant a lot to me!! she is aware that i am aware & grateful that she made 1 (one) effort. but also she fully wrote "miss" in front of my name on the envelope of that same card. so its like ... i appreciate the thought but unfortunately that's not enough. you still gotta keep doing stuff like that, like, indefinitely. i thought that maybe it was a start, but other than my stepmoms friend ive been referred to exclusively as something im not since i got here.
honestly until my stepmoms friend stood up for me and corrected my family on my behalf id just completely given up. its so exhausting. and when she corrected them ofc the conversation turned to "its SO HARD for us to change our language" and it was a little validating to watch her get kind of annoyed at that reaction.
im tired.
i guess i can keep trying to say "they please" at every possible turn and see where that gets me. i wish i could spend time with this part of my family without being on pins and needles constantly.

This next commission, it seemed, would be somewhat of a breather.
Away from hunting giant crabs, lying criminals, and pickpockets. For now, Ven’s only worry was to fill in for a very tired restaurant worker.
When they get to the restaurant’s address, they find a note on the door.
“Hello, kind commissioner. Thank you very much for taking this up for me. I’ve been working at this place for a year now and it was getting pretty exhausting. The last straw was recently having cold water poured on me by a rather rude customer, and I decided that I needed a day off. None of my coworkers were able to fill in, so I appreciate you taking the time off to do this for me.
Just make sure to listen to the manager, remember orders, and handle conflicts as diplomatically as you possibly can.
Much thanks.”
Ven reads over the note twice to make sure that they knew everything that could potentially happen. Confirming the work of the commission, they open the door as the bell chimes to alert those already working inside.
“Hello, I’m here to substitute one of your workers.”
And so, the day began.
Their shift started at 1:30 pm, luckily just after the lunch hour when dozens upon dozens of people came in for a hearty meal before the weekend.
“Excuse me, you there! My order is completely messed up!”
Ven turns around as a hand grips onto their apron, tightly. They almost flew onto their back had they not stabilized themselves in time.
“Please don’t grab me. Asking for my attention is enough.”
“Ugh, please fix that attitude of yours, along with your food. Look at it!”
The gloved hand it quick to let go and point at a perfectly normal Mushroom Soup. Ven has to squint carefully to see what was wrong.
“You’re going to have to let me know what’s wrong, Miss.”
“Are you blind? And stupid? This is not what I ordered!”
Ven blinks, slowly taking the bowl from the woman.
“Then, let me get what you ordered.”
“Give that back! That’s not what I meant!”
The bowl is snatched from the hand, and Ven has to try their best to maintain their composure.
“Miss, I’m afraid- “
“Ugh! The lot of you!”
She huffs, red in the face, but for what reason Ven is unable to tell.
“M-Miss? What are you trying to do, exactly?”
She keeps to herself, turning her head with a “hmph!”
Unable to decipher her meaning, Ven tries to walk away. Just as they start to go back to their previous order, they are once more pulled back by some unknown force.
“You! What is your name?”
It was the gloved hand that had grabbed them moments earlier. Ven is ready to slap the woman’s hand away but instead opts to brush her hand away.
“I believe I told you to not grab at me, Miss. I might have fallen on you on accident.”
“T-That’s not what I said! Your name?”
“Ven. Goodbye, Miss.”
And so they continue working. They glance back to see if the woman was still up to something, but instead see her eating her meal with a flushed face.
Seriously, what was going on?
That lady was soon forgotten by Ven, too busy serving other more polite customers with their food. After repeating the motions repeatedly, the day soon came to a close and the last customers giggling as they walked.
“Thanks for all the help, Ven! Really sent it home today.”
They shake their head. “It was nothing. I’m sure doing this every day is harder than doing it just once.”
“Oh, you flatterer. Plus, you got this sweet bonus from that blushy blushy lady from earlier.”
Ven furrows their brow. “Blushy… blushy?”
“Yeah! The lady with the fancy gloves. She left a nice tip for you. Something about a nice face? Seems like you got yourself an admirer!”
Ugh. What on earth.
“Alright, go home! I’ll close for tonight. Thanks for the help again!”
They bid the manager goodbye, but it wasn’t long until they ran into a familiar face that they’ve been seeing a lot lately.
“You two again? Goodness.”
“Hey! That sounded pretty rude, y’know!?”
Aether tries to get Paimon to calm down as she stomps the air. Ven hides a small smile behind their fist.
“Apologies. I was simply being sarcastic. I hope the two of you have been good?”
“We have. Fontaine is really pretty, as you know.”
“Whatever do you mean? I find this place rather dull.”
Paimons gasps. “Whaaat? But it’s so interesting here!”
“Maybe to you, dear Paimon. Being an adventurer is much more fun that a simple tourist, I would imagine.”
“W-Woah… You really think that?”
Ven laughs at Paimon’s over-the-top expressions. Always so dramatic in her words and actions.
“No, of course not. I’m having fun in my own way, you know.”
“That’s good to hear.” Aether sighs. “I was afraid I was going to have to make you enjoy your stay here in Fontaine.”
“Make me? I’m kind of curious. Alright then, I take it back. My stay here has been miserable. I’ll let you lead the way to having fun in this grand city.”
“Ugh, wait! Paimon is getting confused by Ven’s words.”
Ven stifles a giggle, sparing a glance at Aether. He seems to fake an annoyed glare for messing with his traveling companion.
“What’s there to be confused about? I’m having the saddest time of my life as a tourist in a foreign country. The great views, amazing food, all of it upsets me.”
“Argh!”
Aether lightly hits Ven on the arm as they start laughing at Paimon again.
“You don’t have to say that, Ven. I’d be happy to travel around this new region with you.”
Ven stares into Aether’s eyes, golden hues freezing them in place. They always wondered why the outlander was allowed to have such a pretty color to have in their eyes. It felt as if Celestia had placed the world’s goodness into them.
Ah, they haven’t said anything in a while.
“If you’re offering, of course I wouldn’t mind.”
“Great! Then how about some time tomorrow? Assuming you aren’t doing more of those weird commissions.”
Ven huffs. “They aren’t weird. I just do them because I have nothing else to do.”
“Mhm. Sure. Then tomorrow?”
“Tomorrow sounds amazing.”
“Great! See you then.”
Tiny hands wave at them. “Bye, Ven! See you later!”
“Goodbye, Paimon. Goodbye… Aether.”

i dont know if they ever intend to tell us anything about ryans backstory because its not necessarily important to his character and it could be enough for us to know that he used to disobey his parents to go see his girlfriend of the time instead, and that he alludes to karinas parents being nice in a way that makes me think his own parents arent like that
but because hes an amalgamation of kotetsus and barnabys traits in a lot of ways, ive built my own ideal reality. also, this was supposed to be a really short post but its actually unnecessarily long and rambling and actually has little to do with his backstory in the end, and tumblr will cut it off thankfully.
its my blog and i post whatever i want, including my stream of consciousness thoughts. here. have this ryan figurine i think about on a regular basis
in my mind he would be from a well-off enough family and he wouldve started his career as a child and the hero work wasnt his topmost wish always. nowadays hes obviously rich, but i often think about KOW the rising saying that he likes to study tax plans and is good at buying in bulk...
anyhow, i think it would be fitting if his parents were kinda lacking in the parenting department. why did he become the wandering gravity prince? did he not want to stay with them, he never really talks about them even when its topical, they dont seem important to him. hes looking for a place to not get backstabbed and his first instinct is go to sternbild after a devastating injury and not like, show up at home for a bit at least?
kotetsus mom is still around and we know shes nice and doing the most really, and kotetsu has a brother who supports him too. kotetsu also is a very normal person without particular talents. in contrast, as we know, barnaby lost his parents who were busy but cared about him, and he was then raised by maverick who only wanted to use him and never cared about him.
barnaby is also a virtuoso in so many things, what is he not good at? he can have himself a perfect celebrity persona and do so many things so well. he was smart even as a kid. kotetsu, on the other hand, has no particular talents, however, he scored himself an eventual wife and a best friend for life (antonio!) when he was still in high school.
sure, he does dumb stuff all the time, but hes a decent guy who can make people laugh. hes well-liked enough, and he has a penchant for making genuine human connection even (and because of) his meddlesome nature. barnaby has difficulties making friends, in contrast.
and if were absolutely honest, ryan is much more like kotetsu in the sense that underneath all of his ego that gets in the way of everything, hes actually a relatively normal guy with no particular talents beyond being extremely loud and proud about himself. without his ego he pretty much has nothing.
every day he wakes up and pretends to have both the positive traits of barnaby and kotetsu, when actually he kind of has both of their negative traits. his motto, too, is about believing in himself. as long as he believes hes perfect, then he can convince others of it too.
so hes a little bit like barnaby, who has a very likable and nice public image to supplement his shortcomings as a person who has difficulties connecting with people... but he goes beyond and above and makes no distinction between who he really is and what his “public image” is. his ego is Him, because its all he really has, and it gets in the way of genuine human connections.
again, in his schedule he is noted that he “had a pleasant time” at an event with a lot of celebrities, but theyre just his acquantaices. he keeps giving his number out to women, takes a woman home from a date and getting texted that the vibe was off, and he just goes okey-dokey and continues unbothered and arranges an another date
but then his buddy hero partner karina is about to DITCH him for kotetsu just like barnaby did (not that he cares. it was his master plan btw) and hes ready to flee the city immediately and cries.
does that really seem like a man who has a lot of genuine friends, like kotetsu has for example?
no... ryan has a lot of surface-level acquantaices and so on. hes well-liked enough, but the image he projects is absolutely insufferable and doesnt seem genuine (despite it being genuine, because he really just is like that), which also has made people consider him a rival to a degree it seems they arranged for gregory to cause ryan to lose control of his power.
in the scene where he loses control, hes wearing civilian clothes. was he invited to a hangout with the heroes at the monument he was crushed under? it certainly wasnt during his work, but his co-workers are in their hero costumes. it would also explain ryans preoccupation with being betrayed, which implies to me a more active role than just leaving him to be crushed to death under rubble.
even barnaby, in the rising, suspects ryan of being involved with the villain plot, which ryan catches on and brings up himself and acts unbothered about- he doesnt mind, he gets it a lot, it seems. he would know this, too, because hes good at reading people.
anyhow, attention is what he wants, and attention is what he gets... he doesnt even mind if the attention is a bit negative.
like kotetsu, hes kind of meddlesome with other people, but hes also the type to claim all credit (even for things he didnt do), like when at the end of rising the announces its his idea that barnaby and kotetsu should work together.
anyway, i think this all would perfectly fit in my fantasy of ryans parents not being really explicitly awful but maybe they just didnt care enough so ryan never received an adequate amount of attention and parental guidance, and ended up like this.
barnaby is an only child, and kotetsu has a brother who he is on good terms with...
ryan could be an only child (as he never mentions anything related to a sibling as far as i know, but some information is so hard to get. i wish i could read japanese), but i think it would be interesting if he had a sibling, and for no particular reasons, the sibling was always just a little bit better than ryan.
maybe they were smarter and had more realistic dreams (ryans wish is being the only number one. thats not even a wish. why did he even become a hero? i would say it was for attention. a guy with no life plans, really), or something, but it doesnt matter.
losing in his parents eyes to something boring and cringe like a well-paying office job or a doctor or something. but thats something just for additional comedic purposes for me personally bc i think itd fit for him to be an only child
i also like to entertain the idea his parents wouldve pushed him into the entertainment field and i do love the idea that he was involved in a lot of things (like modeling etc) before ending up becoming a hero, which wouldve been one of his first choices he made for himself
hes not a bad person by all means, but to me at least before rising he more cared about the fame and attention part and people thinking hes an awesome person. theyll appreciate him then.
but then he learned about the power of friendship and now he can better focus on being a good person in the way he knows how to be (extremely meddlesome and getting into your personal business but nonetheless hes doing his best)
he definitely was like that as a kid too, you know how some kids are just so nosy? i also like to think he was the type of kid who just makes up outrageous lies and cant even tell why, which he stopped doing as an older teen and moved into exaggerating his life instead
i think hes always been really outgoing and the class clown-type who causes problems at school but like most kids who act like that, he was trying to get attention because he was going through something
and lets face it, hes kind of weird with how over-the-top he is. his apartment has black marble and leather and gold and he has frescoes of himself on his walls... this sort of eccentricity doesnt just happen overnight, im sure hes always been a little bit like that
but its harder to get bullied when you just tell everyone youre awesome with utmost confidence. kids dont really know how to react to something like that, its pretty easy to convince people youre cool as long as you can just act the part (source: me). you can get all of your weird traits excused if you own them and act like its the most natural thing (even if it wont stop people talking behind your back)
anyway i think that deep down he knows that hes nothing special and has known since he was a kid but this lifestyle of his isnt something he can back down from. hes perfect because he says so and if he admitted otherwise it would be equivalent to getting executed.
he made his bed now he has to lie in it. but hey its a nice bed with silk sheets and damn he looks good

if you like to read about other ppls drama and problems
feels sad to say this and reflect on it during my 7 hr bus ride home today but i just dont feel like i had a good quality time with my friend quinn this weekend.. it was a short visit for sure so i wish we couldve spent more time together but also i got on the bus this morning feeling completely fine that i didnt have to stay any longer. which makes me feel so shitty but its like.. my friend is going through a breakup and basically has been for months now since june im pretty sure which for me personally its like my friendship kryptonite. when a friend is having relationship trouble of any kind i have no idea how to be a supportive friend because unfortunately yes i am the "break up with them" friend. and right now all i think he should do is ACTUALLY separate himself from her and set some fucking boundaries and not talk to her for a long time, instead of what he did over the weekend which is go to a party he knew she would be at because theyre still friends with all the same people and then also basically ditch me in the middle of rhe party to be with her all night when he knew i didnt know anybody but him and the host. sooo yeah idk that kinda sucked. the thing is too ive been friends with him for 5 years now and ive like hardly interacted with the girlfriend shes nice enough but i dont know anything about her just that she seems to also be going through some shit right now which is why i think they broke up (and should stay broken up!!!). but before rhe party on saturday quinn was like "is it gonna be weird for you to see my ex at this party?" and i almost laughed because like. why the fuck would i care gjdkdh do you hear yourself?? no the only weird part was you acting like i wasnt there after 2 hours. luckily im so charming and easy to talk to and managed to meet some of his friends hes been telling me about for years (and yet hardly bothered to introduce me to anyone) and it wasnt the best night but it wasnt horrible either. and i feel for him i do but at the same time we have completely different personalities when it comes to this shit bc when i am done with someone not even romantically but like friendships too i am capital D done, i dont want them back in my life and i want my space from them so i can actually think about what happened and move on. instead he got so drunk i had to drive us home when ive never driven a car in chicago before and he was just being maudlin about the fact that him and his ex werent leaving together. and then he asked me 800 times if i had a good time at the party and every time i lied and said yes but what the fuck else am i gonna say, that im too old and have always been too lame for parties with loud music and weed and more than 6 people in attendance? i want to help my friend i can tell hes really not in a great place right now but i also dont think he wants to be helped he just wants his fucking girlfriend back and he cannot see that that will do him no good now or in the long run. fucking christ i dont know. rocky horror was fun. the queers there all loved my orville peck costume so that was nice. and i was one of three winners of the costume contest and as a prize they gave me a button that says GIRL DICK 🤠👍
