I really think that Nickelodeon is way over milking the popularity of these shows by giving them countless reruns of Spongebob, The Loud House, and The Casagrandes every single day on Nicktoons, and completely dropped every other good Live Action show and even Nick-Rewind for 24 Hours of Henry Danger on TeenNick.

when i was younger (and i mean like. TOO young. im talking from the age of 6 to 12 years old here) the main thing i watched besides kiddie cartoons were adult (animated) sitcoms.
i used to seriously sit down to watch scrubs and community with the occasional married with children or 30 rock. Wait hold on sorry. workaholics had 7 seasons? 7? to me this show felt like it had one season and then disappeared, though that's probably just because i slowly stopped watching tv as it started airing.
I just looked it up, and i think the reason why i watched so many of those shows is because comedy central took over the channel after nickelodeon at 8 every night.
this was the case from 2007-2010, which were my prime years of television watching. the years after that, comedy central moved to another channel and started broadcasting longer. that part explains why i remember them being separate on channels, and that teennick would air after nickelodeon instead. Because, well, that did happen, just later.
Now, I was never much of a nickelodeon kid. Sure, I watched it, but it was usually my last resort.
My favourite channel was jetix, but after that was changed to disneyxd (right at the end of 2009) i pretty much jumped ship. My other 2 go-to's were nicktoons (nickelodeons cooler older brother) and cartoon network. If there was nothing that interested me on those two I would go to nickelodeon.
im saying this because i wanna get into sitcoms again. i'm currently going through iasip, but i wanna watch stuff like malcolm in the middle (never rlly caught that on tv) and i wanna actually watch scrubs and community. seinfeld is also high on my list of things i need to actually watch through.
one concern i have though, is that i lack the context of the time. i feel like ill miss out on a lot of the nuances and jokes, because these shows very much poke fun at or address issues that were going on at the time.
granted, I've always had this cultural divide because I'm not usamerican, and all of these shows are. often when they brought up specific usamerican happenings i just wouldn't get it, but i feel like nowadays its easier for me to look these things up if i ever get confused. the problem comes at identifying what exactly the reference is, and how to look for context. I feel like the dvd boxsets with the commentary and behind the scenes stuff would really help in this case, but shit's expensive man.
all in all, watching usamerican shows or cartoons is no different to me than when i watch anime or dramas, really. i may understand english better than i do japanese, but both countries are just as foreign to me.

Longo was found dead at his home in Austin, Texas, on Wednesday. His wife, Stephanie Clark, called the police to check on him while she was at work at a local dance studio. (The news first came out on TMZ.) Together, Longo and Clark had three children.
Clark said in a statement, "Cody was our whole world." "The kids and I are completely and utterly broken up. He was the best father and dad. We will always and always love and miss you."

Icarly and victorious both:
- had iconic opening songs that just immediately strike this primal unused area of your brain that resets you back to a teenager watching teennick,
- major female characters with a lot of male interests but no one cares cuz the f/f ships were too fucking good and had too much chemistry (Carly/Sam, Tori/Jade, Cat/Jade),
- consistently weird but oddly compelling first seasons that don't get weaker but actually get stronger when they already started pretty strong,
- a male character they insist is a weird nerd but is actually just an attractive male actor,
- creepy foot fetish things. Not a plus, just something they both had,
- and a bunch of side characters that were funnier than the main cast and more talented and more interesting.
I love them both. I miss them both from time to time.

okay was anyone going to tell me that taemin and ariana grande are literally 8 days apart in age or was i supposed to find that out myself browsing wikipedia in the midst of watching a 5.5hr analysis of victorious (2010-2013)? and that ariana wanted to go straight into r&b at 13-14 but she was discouraged and stuck to broadway instead until she was cast for tv...? the irony.
Oh I knew that cause they're both two to three weeks older then me. It would have been interesting if Taemin and Ari started music at the same time. But Ariana came in the time she was meant to. I remember the first Ariana song I heard I thought it was Mariah Carey till I looked at the TV and was like "That's Cat!!" It was the Right There MV it was on a teennick commercial. Like for the past few Years Miss Ariana has been running pop as Nicki prophesized. I love Ariana Grande.

On this day twenty years ago, Invader Zim premiered on TV.
This show is one of my favorites. I didn't exist yet at the time this show was airing, but I did occasionally watch reruns when I was seven. Funny thing: I thought Gir was a girl at the time because of his high-pitched voice (lol.) I forgot about the show for a few years and encountered it again when I was thirteen. As you can tell, I instantly loved it again. Then I got into the comics, watched ETF, and the rest is history. I hope Nickelodeon will start airing reruns on TeenNick now that the show has turned twenty. That would be perfect!
Also, let's take a moment to pay respects to Lucille Bliss and the IZ fans who didn't make it to this day. They are dearly missed.

3. on what platform did you start RPing?
This is gonna date me FUCKTON but there used to be a game called Avatar High on The-N's website (which is not TeenNick). They had multiple versions of that game, inclu Avatar Prom & Avatar U. Well, on The-N.com, they also had a forum where you could customize your avatar and enter discussions with other people, and that's where I first RP'd. I was like 12? And it was a life changing experience, tbh. That's when I learned how much I loved to write lmao.
8. did you have a muse you tried to play, but didn’t feel connected to?
Absolutely! I wouldn't say this has happened as an indie rp blog, but when I was in RPGs, there were muses that I would pick up in hopes of playing them well, but ended up not feeling really connected to. Especially if I picked them up during a certain part of my life, where I was feeling a certain way or trying something new--I eventually would not feel connected to them. There was an RP I was in where I played about 17 muses total, and only about 8 or so of them were consistent.
I mean, it's a very sad experience but its helped me learn my strengths and weaknesses as a writer.
17. what was your first muse?
Okay. i actually had to log into one of my other tumblr accounts to double check this lmao.
So the first one I can remember, circa 2012, is a a muse called Alex Medina. She was a Chachi Gonzales FC. She was a pre-written muse part of Lynndale HS RPG, and aside from her bio I was still able to make her my own.
A lot of her experiences were mine, and tumblr was a really different place back then so I'm still so thankful to the muns who allowed me to take her on. That's all the first RP ever where I had more than one muse. I think I had 4 or 5 at one point. I have all their blog urls saved bc sometimes I miss those friends I used to write with.
Now, the first muse I can remember creating myself is Stiles Meyers (now known as Ethan McGuinness. so much about him has changed). He was part of the same rp, but he was probably my 2nd OC ever on tumblr. I still play him, it's just his name and story are a little different but that's my first ever OC.

You know what I miss? The-N. Some of y’all might be too young to know what that is, but let me tell you, it was the best thing that ever happened to my preteen self. I remember I couldn’t WAIT to see the Noggin sign off and get all excited when The-N was starting. The-N was a TV channel that had amazing shows like South of Nowhere (I shipped my first gay ship♥️), Beyond the Break, Instant Star, O’Grady, Radio Free Roscoe, Daria, oh and was the first place I ever watched Degrassi! Not only did they have the best TV shows but they had a killer website too. It was the first place I ever chatted online! They had message boards and istg I would sit on there all day during summer and talk about my favorite TV shows. The avatar customization was so much fun. They also had fun games like Slasher!, Avatar High, The Hookup. Then they rebranded everything to TeenNick. Don’t get me wrong, I love shows like iCarly too but TeenNick is nothing compared to The-N.
I seriously miss those days. Anyone know what I’m talking about?

My Swiftie Memories No. 2
Dear @taylorswift ,
So after the Joe Jonas incident, remember I told you that I didn’t care for you. A few months later, summer of ‘09, I would always keep my bedroom TV on the Teennick channel because they would play all of the shows that I was into, along with music videos that were new around that time. The music video that made me really notice you was “You Belong With Me” I was obsessed! I thought it was so cute with you in your iconic Junior Jewels pajama set and how you won the guy from the mean cheerleader (btw it took me a whole year to realize that was actually you lol) as the band geek lol. However what really made me become a baby Swiftie was the “Fifteen” music video (these two videos played on Teennick all the time btw). The lyric “ Count to ten, take it in, this is life...” just really stuck with me, I just loved it lol. I think what really made me fall in love with this music video/song was the fact that I was 13 (you’re right 13 is a lucky number since that’s when I first discovered myself as your fan) and was going to be going to high school soon. It made me feel like you were my guardian angel, guiding me to be the best version of myself and not get caught up with the negative side of high school. I figured okay, maybe I just enjoy these two songs by this chick lol. First day of 8th grade, I was in my English class and my teacher, Miss. Resua gave us like an introductory assignment to work on. I remember reaching down in my bookbag and hearing music. Miss. Resua was playing your music. I guess you were trying to manifest your way into my life lol. I remember thinking wow I really love this song, it’s so soothing but sad. It was “Teardrops on my Guitar”, I’m not sure how I knew it was you, maybe I asked my teacher or just knew your voice automatically (probably the latter lol). But I really enjoyed it and made sure to go home and become obsessive over the song/music video. I remember later that week, the same song played in Kohl’s while I was out with my mom and I tried my best to sing along since I was still learning the lyrics lol. About a month later, the VMAs incident happened. I remember hearing all about it and when I went to school the next day, Mrs. Morris (my drama teacher), ranted with my class about the whole situation. “When someone wins an award, you should never interrupt them while they’re trying to accept the award and give a speech. That’s disgusting and disrespectful”, couldn’t agree more Mrs. Morris. At the time, I was still a new fan so I didn’t get too upset over it (like I would if it happened today) but I knew it was wrong and disrespectful. Anyway Ms. Swift, that’s how you got me, a hater, to become a fan which later becomes a newfound obsession of mine. However we’ll have to wait for that letter. :)

Wednesday, November 22, 6.00PM: NEW MOVIE: Kung Fu Panda 2: Now known as the Dragon Warrior, Po (Jack Black) protects the Valley of Peace alongside his friends and fellow kung fu masters, the Furious Five. The Titans learn how difficult it is to make a cartoon when they try to animate Michael Jelenic and Aaron Horvath, their creators. The special reruns on Saturday at 10.00AM, 3.30PM and 7.30PM, and on Sunday at 8.30AM, 2.00PM and 6.30PM.

... Well, I am into the show “Boy Meets World” ⚾️🌎. Great show in my opinion!!!! 🙂😃😊👍🏻❤️ Every night this show comes on TeenNick. 👍🏻 When this show first aired on TeenNick, at first I didn't really like it, but now I'm starting to get into this show the more I watch it. 🙂👍🏻❤️ (I wish that this show was on tv again, I miss watching it!!! One of my favorite tv shows!!! ❤️).
