Do you ever talk to your grandmother and she sees that you crochet. Then she says that she would love to learn to crochet, but nobody ever taught her. And then she wishes you luck in crocheting and jokes saying that she'll ask you to teach her. And you suddenly want to cry because that is so sad.

One of the days where I wish the internet was a room. I want to hug my friends and smell their skin. I want to feel warmed and comforted by their physical presence.

I want to see people from across the room I've never even interacted with personally and go "Oh yeah, that's (friend)'s buddy. Aren't they gorgeous and elegant?"

I yearn to stare obliquely at my idols and sigh wistfully.

I want to perceive people as the humans they are, I need them to fill my senses and drown out the dread.

I miss you. I've never met you, never held you, never traced the curve of your smile with my adoring gaze...but I miss you, and it breaks my heart 😭

New Kairos chapter will be going up in 36 hours or so, and in the meantime, I thought I'd post a little snippet of the 12k chapter that's going to drop on everybody's heads in 48 hours or less:

Thranduil opens the door and stares. For a moment he thinks he might be hallucinating. “Hello.”

“Hey, Dr. O,” Sigrid says. “Do you have a second? There’s something we want to discuss with you.”

All three Bowman children are on Thranduil’s front porch, and all of them are dressed in their Sunday best – or in Legolas’s Sunday best, as the case may be. Sigrid has yet to return the suit she borrowed for Legolas’s birthday party, and Thranduil must admit that she wears it better than his son does. Bain is in a similar suit, although his is black instead of dark grey, and Tilda is wearing what was once Sigrid’s First Communion dress. She looks unusually solemn, even for her, and her siblings look equally serious. Thranduil looks the three of them up and down and finds himself utterly at a loss.

“Dr. O?” Bain prompts. “Do you have a second?”

“Or a minute,” Tilda says. “It’ll probably be more like a minute.”

my brain is filled with au where thorin is considered unattractive by dwarven standards, bilbo thinks hes handsome, and is pining after him, but thorin is in the classic situation of having to get married and dealing with lots of suitors and theres a bit in there about bilbo hearing some of the dwarrowdams gossiping about how thorin is "ugly" and bilbo being like WHAT

Oh! I never really though about it, but off the top of my head I think it would be that Thorin and Bilbo have a habit of sleeping in each other’s arms. They just can’t sleep without it, and they cuddle Every. Single. Night. So every time they’re angry with each other, they’re both too proud to apologise, and they end up staying awake the whole night, because they’re too angry to cuddle. But of course, they love each other. So they grow so tired of the cuddle hiatus, that they eventually apologise to each other, no matter whose fault it is, and return to the nightly routine.

I saw this headcanon at @middle-earth-obsessed and it stuck with me!
