when we say "the future is non-binary", we don't mean "in the future, everyone will be forced to dress differently and take hormones and go on HRT against their will." what we mean is progress will be made once people stop forcing others to present, dress, and act in specific ways dependent on information that shouldn't be their business in the first place. humanity's future will no longer include forcing people into one of two strict but loosely defined categories for reasons beyond their control. that is what we mean.
