When I eat out at a restaurant you’d better fucking believe I expect the employees not to fail at their jobs. Do you have any idea how important food safety is? Just because you think it’s easy to learn doesn’t mean it’s not important. Having employees who are diligent and take safety issues seriously is really important in food prep. Same goes for work involving sanitation, like the work which custodians do.

Also, all of this is irrelevant because even if a job was unimportant, people deserve to have food, clothing, healthcare and shelter. They are basic necessities. No one should be forced to go without those things, whether you think their work is valuable or not. Human beings are not valuable based only on how much money they can generate or how useful they are considered to other people. How is this even an argument?

Full time work should entitle someone to enough pay for rent, food, bills, and leisure activities. Full time work for a full life wage. You put in your 8 hours a day, 5 days a week? You should be able to afford the basic shit you need in life, no matter where you work.

When I first started crafting, I would follow tutorials and patterns and instructions to the letter. Never any deviation from the instructions. I didn’t know how the instructions worked together to make a Thing, but I trusted that they were leading me toward a desired end result. A knit hat. A beaded ring. A stuffed animal. And they did! And slowly, I learned. I learned how the parts added up to the whole.

From there, I learned about different techniques. Different crochet stitches. Ways of twisting wire. How patterns fit together. And I was able to take those original patterns and modify them into new things using what I had learned. I could take a set of instructions and say “Yeah, that’s cool, but it’ll be even better if I just do THIS a little bit differently.”

Then came the ability to look at a final product and immediately be able to identify the Parts and Techniques used to make it. And I didn’t need instructions anymore. I didn’t need a pattern or a list of supplies. I could just see them. With only a quick glance at an item, I could say to myself “I can make that.” And I could. And I did.

I think witchcraft is like that too. Start off with spells, following every step and instruction perfectly. Then you learn about the parts and how they work together. And finally you don’t need any instructions, you just instinctively know How.

I’m still in the second stage with witchcraft. I still need some ideas and references, but I’m getting there. And I can feel that I’m making advances toward that third step. And it’s really exciting.

Rats are very intelligent and make wonderful pets! Thank you for taking care of this little guy.

So I was walking through the French Quarter today and I saw a rat, I didn’t think much of it at first because they’re pretty common…but then I realized it was 11am, in broad daylight, and the rat was huddled in a corner looking anxious, but not trying to run away from me or the other humans walking by. I was like “That’s odd, maybe it’s sick or injured.” So I’m like “I'mma just scoop it up carefully with a cup and some cardboard and take it to a dumpster.” So I kneeled down and was like “Hey, what’s wrong lil buddy?” And carefully nudged it with the cardboard…but instead of running away it walked up to my foot and started cuddling it. Then I tried to scoop it up, but it just ran up my arm, sat on my shoulder, and started cuddling my neck. And at first I was like “Ew, gross” but then I realized it was too clean and small to be a wild New Orleans French Quarter rat, and the lack of fear of humans was odd, too. I kept trying to get it to sit in the cup, but it kept insisting on riding on my shoulders like a parrot. So I was like “Okay, this is clearly a domestic rat.” And then I was like “Oh shit, I can’t just knowingly release it into the wild/city!” It would be incredibly cruel to let this young, innocent animal die scared and confused outdoors since it was obviously raised by humans. It has no signs of fleas, and has not tried to bite me once, despite clearly being stressed. So I guess I have a pet rat now.

Anyway, I’m gonna do $5 and $10 tarot readings so I can buy a terrarium and stuff for it. So hit me up if you wanna help me help my new furry friend.

Capricorn would be Innerer Schweinehund which translates to “inner dog pig”. This is the voice in your head that tells you to stop procrastinating. Capricorns hear this voice a lot and depending on the situation, will only listen to it 50% of the time.

Aquarius would be Weltschmerz which translates to “world pain”. This is the feeling you get when something in the world isn’t right but you want it to be. It’s usual followed by disappointment of what the world is. Aquarians experience this feeling a lot as they always want to change the world for the better because of how bad it is.

Pisces would be Fernweh which translates to “distance pain. This is basically the opposite of homesickness; you want to be somewhere else other than where you are. Pisces have this feeling everyday for they’re relentless creatures that don’t want to stay in the same place all the time.

Aries would be Lebensmüde which translates to “life tired”. This is exactly how it sounds, it’s when you’re tired of life. Aries are mostly tired of life because they have to sit through all of the bullcrap that comes with it and they just don’t want to do that.

Taurus would be Kuddelmuddel but it doesn’t translate to anything in English. This is what you would call a mess because Taurans usually get themselves into one. They always try to do things for people without thinking and then realize half way in that they can’t actual do it, creating a mess.

Gemini would be Fremdschämen which translates to “exterior shame”. This is the feeling you get when you see someone else failing and you feel that embarrassment too; it’s a more specific version of empathy. Gemini have this feeling because they hate to see others fail as it makes them feel bad that they did and they usually end up trying to help the one who did fail.

Cancer would be Dreikäsehoch which translates to “three cheeses high”. This is the feeling of being overwhelmed with things to do because people think you can do them. Cancers have a problem with this because they are kind of pushovers and basically say yes to everyone, creating a pile of overwhelming feelings and anxiety.

Leo would be Kummerspeck which translates to “grief bacon”. This is when you basically eat your way out of sadness.Instead of trying to face their problems a healthy way, usually Leos would just eat until they feeling better. This usually results in weight gain and more sadness later.

Virgo would be Sitzfleisch which translates to “sit” or “seat meat”. This is the ability to sit down through something very boring or uninteresting. Most people are able to do it but Virgos’ mindsets are usually along the lines of “this will be over soon to right now, I just wait” and that’s exactly what they do.

Libra would be Treppenwitz which translates to “staircase joke”. This is the thing where after you’ve had a conversation or argument with somebody, you suddenly know exactly you wanted to say but it’s too late. Libras, as they get into arguments a lot, get this a lot which irritates them even more.

Scorpio would be Erklärungsnot which translates to “explanation poverty”. This is almost exactly what the translation means, to not have an explanation for something. Whether it be good or bad, Scorpians usually have this type of poverty in most conversational settings.

Sagittarius would be Torschlusspanik which translates to “closing-gate picnic”. This is the feeling of having to do everything you’ve wanted to do in a life time before it’s too late. “I graduated high school! I better get a girlfriend! I graduated college! I gotta get a real job!” are just examples of what Saggitarians will feel on every occasion.
