#BLESSED TO BE ALIVE: #BREATHE I’m #home now: I can breathe without support the last 3 days. I was in a high dependency unit isolation ward for 10 days. I managed to improve with steroids, 24 hour oxygen support and nebulisers. On Sunday 20/21st February, whilst in A&E, I had a severe allergic reaction to the intravenous antibiotic being administered. I collapsed and my airways started closing up. I was unconscious and needed to be resuscitated First 5 days was critical as I was at a high risk of relapse of anaphylactic shock and I was dealing with pneumonititis of my lungs. By days 8, 9, 10, I could breathe without support, but any mobility would cause breathlessness The pneumonia will take a couple of months to heal and I’m at home with a care plan of morning and lunchtime carers to help me with all my needs. I’m out of the danger zone. I feel blessed, grateful and honoured that Allah decided to let me live. Revitalised and rejuvenating moving forward. Had a good one hour cry a few days ago which released all mucus and sinus blockages and gave relief. I have a higher purpose. God saved me to fulfill this for humanity as I have something no-one else has and others need to benefit. (Please also don’t forget: you also have purpose) I’m grateful to be in a position to pray for a good death which is part of life as I would have had too much regret leaving this world from the anaphylactic shock. I couldn’t sleep for 5 days and nights because of the flashbacks and the thought that I could have gone. But now I’m over that trauma I’m able to move forward with self healing first and then I’ll be tasked in getting direction on what I need to fulfill my reason to be alive. I already have 2 reflection stories I’ve been sharing and will write about and I managed to complete a poem I’d 90 % written about my younger brother’s passing a year ago. I’ll share the poem in my next post. I’d completed it whilst in a critical state myself, but just finalised the last few words to close on letting go of my younger brother’s grief. Hey there it’s just me sharing a bit of #mystory : I’m mummy’s chunky Meishka or #MyMeishka as she calls me. She just took these pics of me cos I turned 10 months on Saturday and she’s super-excited about how big I’ve grown. She’s even taken shots of the back of me, side profile, sitting, lying down, all sorts and she made a video when all I wanted was a shut eye. Look, I don’t get paid for this you know, but sometimes you just have to play along. I know she loves me to bits, so I’ll just carry on looking cute and chunky just to show her how much I love her! Enjoy the video and apologies if I was a bit grumpy in it. Mummy makes a song and dance about my weight, cos when I had THE OP, I got sick for 3 weeks when I was 7.5 months old, and I went down from 4.7kgs to 4.3kgs in 5 days. Mummy was very worried, but I got lots of my favourite tuna and some sugary stuff which made me well again along with about numerous trips to the vet and antibiotic and anti nausea injections. She thinks I reacted badly to the anaesthetic: thank God I don’t have to do that again!! Love and cuddles Meishka (which translates to baby bear in Russian): but they call me Boo-boo, Boo (and even Boobs) sometimes, not sure what the last one means but Mummy laughs when she says it, and she calls me Meishka too. I answer to anything especially when she calls out to me, cos I love her.
