I fixed the fact that my asks were turned off, so this should help with the prompt and ask meme situation. Feel free to ask me any now, so long as you specify what you’re asking on
5. Cleanliness habits (personal, workspace, etc.)She likes things clean and tidy. Honestly, cleaning relaxes her, so she doesn’t mind cleaning the B&B, too much. And having things neat and organized makes her much more relaxed. This doesn’t mix well with Claudia, and to a lesser extent Pete, leaving their stuff scattered about.
10. Neuroses? Do they recognize them as such?I have no good answer here? For one thing because I can’t find a solid enough definition of ‘neuroses’ and only have a vague grasp of the term. I think she tends to get anxious when the team is out on a case for too long, because it’s usually a bad sign. If they stay away for too many days, they come back to an overabundance of baked goods, because she stress bakes. She also sits with her weighted blanket and a cup of tea, and does the crossword, nearly every morning. She has a morning routine she likes to follow.
15. Biggest and smallest short term goal?She’s working on reorganizing the kitchen, and she’s hoping to convince Artie to let her organize his office a bit better.
20. Childhood illnesses? Any interesting stories behind them?I definitely have some sad headcanon bouncing around about her childhood, but I’ll save those for a different time. I think she was probably a fairly healthy kid, but she got a really bad inner ear infection, and had to have tubes in her ears. Ear infections mess with balance, but hers also threw her aura-reading out of whack. Some of the wrong readings it gave her really distressed her, since she didn’t realize until it was fixed that it was messing things up.
25. How do they see themselves 5 years from today?(Basing on where I’m at) Still running the B&B, hopefully with this same family built around her. Possibly a cat, or a partner, or both.
30. Reaction to sudden intrapersonal disaster (eg close family member suddenly dies)Ahh, Leena. She has the healthiest coping methods. Part of being in tune with auras - she’s in tune with her own, and there’s no point trying to fight how she’s feeling. She lets herself grieve - break down and cry when something reminds her of the loss, be angry, be lost. But she’s also naturally a caretaker, so she spends a lot of energy taking care of those around her dealing with the loss too. This helps her, because it makes her feel useful, but she also has to remember to take time for herself, to not just put others above herself.
35. What activities do they enjoy, but consider to be a waste of time?I’m not sure there’s much that Leena considers a ‘waste of time’. She sees the value in doing things for relaxation or enjoyment, so long as they don’t hinder her other work. But I think solitaire card games - they’re such a mundane and repetitive relaxation game that they’re not even particularly enjoyable, but she finds herself playing them nevertheless.
40. Would you say that they have a superiority-complex? Inferiority-complex? Neither?Neither. I think on occasion she might seem a bit superior because of how in-tune she is with her emotions, but it’s not very often that it turns into a superiority thing. She understands that the others have different experiences, and sees why they handle emotions the way they do.
45. Superstitions or views on the occult?Girl can read auras, and works in a warehouse of endless wonder. Pretty sure she’s down for all things occult or superstitious. She likes finding out when some of these things link back to artifacts, seeing how they’ve spread throughout the public consciousness
50. Is this person afraid of dying? Why or why not?This one! This is the question I wanted!No, Leena is not afraid of dying. She’s afraid of not living. Sure, she doesn’t want to die. She’s young, and she’s got so much life ahead of her, and there’s so much she hasn’t done yet, and she enjoys being alive. So she doesn’t want to die. But she’s not going to let fear of death stop her from living life to the fullest while she’s alive. She’s not going to give up a life of endless wonder because a bit of danger comes with it. It’s very much who she is. (She wears her heart on her sleeve. She’d rather tell someone she loves them and get her heart broken, than never say anything.) She fears the lack of experiences more than she fears the possible bad outcomes, if that makes sense. Death’s gonna get her someday. She’s gonna make sure she’s lived a full life first.

WH13 2x13 pt 5
Artie and his father catch the lie, but Claudia butts in to try to be peacemaker, and they go back to bonding by mutual annoyance at her, and she’ll take it. She just backs away and smiles, and I love her so much (but I wish Artie were nicer)
Duh! Of course the artifact is one of the antique ornaments, I can’t believe I didn’t catch that sooner. And it’s decorated with a photo of Larry as Santa, that’s why he’s showing up that way. And aww, Pete used to be a marine and so he’s the one with the historical artifact knowledge in this instance. I like when he gets to be unexpectedly smart
Pete made me want Chinese food. He stole the guy’s takeout, and then doubled back for a cookie when leaving the wife’s. I love him.
Aww, Callie saves the day, and they have a moment of being a happy family. That was sweet, and I loved Myka and Pete’s comments along the way.
Pete is such an excited child about Christmas, desperate to open presents and know if Myka likes his gift. He’s an adorable puppy.
“I’m wearing your coat. ... I’m freezing.” Aww, Artie wore the coat anyway. He’s occasionally very sweet, begrudgingly.
Leena, running off in a panic to check her turkey, and Claudia chasing after her to help <3
Aww, good, there is a menorah, on top of the new piano! And Claudia is a giant dork who made them all shirts of the artifacts that nearly killed each of them. That’s really odd and slightly morbid and perfectly Claudia, refusing to let it have power over her

WH13 2x13 pt 4
Leena’s is covered in wreaths and garland and decorations, and it’s beautiful. She definitely picked up on Claudia’s enthusiasm and so helped her decorate to go all-out for the holidays. (But come on, there’s gotta be menorah somewhere, yeah?)
“Aww, you missed me.”
“No, I was worried.”
“Same thing.”
“No it’s not. There’d be paperwork.”
Joshua coming down the stairs - “Artie, he’s dying.” - turns around, walks back up, exclaiming “holy mother of god”
I love getting to see Joshua as the exasperated older brother, and I’m just imagining how exasperated he is hearing about her antics while he’s in Switzerland. And Claudia standing in the doorway watching Artie and his father hug and smiling at her work is really beautiful and I love her
Pete and Myka sharing stories about their fathers and bonding about their childhoods is beautiful. I hope in this episode about fathers and children, we get a clear moment of Artie as father figure to Claudia, not just grump.

I love that she’s out in the field on a mission and Myka’s still asking after Claudia, wondering how her holiday is going
Pete <3 Pete, bullying the guy into spending time with his daughter. Dude would make a good dad someday
Claudia’s streak is red and it maches her sweater and you know she died it for the holidays, and that’s both relatable and adorable.
Claudia’s delayed reaction to ‘Weisfelt’ was hilarious (and understandable, considering she’s not used to the name). And she’s so well-intentioned, but she’s meddling where she doesn’t belong. But considering she can’t reconnect with her family, she’ll at least reconnect Artie with his

The Christmas credits are adorable
“Poor Artie. Must be exhausting to be that grouchy without even time off for the holidays.”
Dude, Artie is almost always a grouch to Claudia, and she’s still a total sweetheart who gets super excited at the thought of finding his happy place piano and giving him a good present. She’s too pure. Also it’s just Leena, Joshua, and Claudia hanging out, and that needs to be Cleena fic
“When was the last time you were in a mom and pop store?”
“I grew up in a mom and pop store.” Yeah dude, you’re looking at the wrong person. Myka is the type to be all about small business, especially local business, with a history in the town. (Wow, I miss that about small towns.)

“They have Christmas in space!” Pete is my nerdy puppy
Myka is me, loving winter and snow. And she’s a dork who throws a snowball at Pete and then snorts when she’s laughing and does a dorky little dance of victory, and god, I love these nerds
“So guys, this is the first time in ever I actually have people in my life to spend the holidays with.” I just went from grinning at their antics, and at Joshua being there, to tearing up because my girl did not deserve the shit she’s been through :(
“You’re familiar with presents, right? We earthlings exchange them as a sign of affection and gratitude.”
“Artie, it’s a gift. Take it.” Why must they leave my girl on Christmas and why must Artie be such a Scrooge. I know I’m always mad at Artie for being such a grouch, but it’s worse on Christmas, when Claudia’s just going a bit overboard because she hasn’t had a real Christmas in so many years, she just wants to make it special. (It’s fine. Joshua will make it amazing, Pete and Myka will be back for New Year’s with amazing gifts, and she and Leena will get trapped under mistletoe at the B&B.)
Artie kissing Joshua is hilarious. And suddenly Quentin Lance is getting attacked by Santa Claus, and keeping his gun in his fridge.

I’m glad I gave myself a few days between season 2 and going on to season 3, because it gave me time to sit with Myka’s decision, and toss it around in my head. And I’m much less angry. I still think she owed it to them to tell them to their faces, and she took the coward’s way out. But I think her decision to leave is perfectly in line with what we know of her history, in a brilliant way.
Because we meet Myka and discover that she blames herself for the death of her partner. And it wasn’t her fault, and she mostly accepts that, but that will always be with her. And then Artie gets shot, and Helena nearly destroys the world, and she blames herself. And she can’t help but think how much worse it could have gone. And so she removes herself from the equation.
And so I get it. I do. And she is free to go, though I know she could never settle back into normal, knowing what she knows now. But I wouldn’t be angry at all, except she should have told her team, her family, to their faces. That would have been enough.

Just discovered that if you check this blog on desktop, the only person on the header with a head is Claudia, and it’s almost focused on the crotch/hips of Myka and Helena. I’m both too lazy to fix it and incredibly amused by it, so this is how it’s staying

Damn right that ending was a tragedy, the kind we don’t want to see. And Myka doesn’t know how to just go back to normal away from the warehouse, and nobody there knows how to go on with things there without her. Pete and Claudia especially, don’t know who to be without her

And I can’t breathe without you, but I have to
Pete and Myka, both not knowing how to go on without each other, when they’re partners. They know each other inside and out, and they’ve learned perfectly how to work together. Partnering with anybody else is going to feel clumsy and disjointed, they won’t click right. And Claudia, breathless with the pain of losing an older sibling all over again, losing such an important part of the only family she’s got, up at night gasping for breath past the hole in her chest

Last night I got distracted from starting s3 by reading this fic set in between seasons 2 and 3, about Claudia dealing with Myka leaving and HG turning evil. It’s supremely well-written and captures everybody’s voice so perfectly that I could hear it all, and picture the little teasing mannerisms between all of them. While I’m not fond of Leena being in the role of emotional caretaker and doing all the emotional labor, I understand that that’s largely what we see of her in the show. It was a really beautiful, emotional exploration of all of them during this time, and I had to share it here.
